Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 41st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 41sr grads thread is HERE

The thread we have graduated from is HERE in its 55th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread HERE
for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

HERE is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates. (Except it's not because I don't know how to link to the stats sheet!)

I've never liked mince pies but this year I love them! My boss brought in some waitrose ones on Friday and I happily ate 2 before realising they had quite a lot of brandy in them! No wonder I was so happy lol!

ZylaB · 13/12/2015 19:03

pretzel most car seats have a little compartment on the back somewhere with the instructions in it, so they're kept with the seat I guess? Both our seats have had this so have a look around the seat itself :).

goes back to lurking and waving pom poms

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/12/2015 19:12

Not even remotely bonkers IMO pretz, they freeze marvellously and will be perfect for the BF munchies.
With clotted cream of course.

honeysucklejasmine · 13/12/2015 19:16

Sounds perfect Pretzel!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/12/2015 20:06

Definitely save some pretz!

I had to make an emergency maternity ward stop today. I had dizzy spells all afternoon and what felt like low BP. All my vitals were ok and baby was wriggling away happily, so much so it took 4 tries to properly hear her heartbeat... but I had keytones in my urine so the midwife said I haven't eaten enough! I had just been for a huge lunch and then snaks afterwards! I basically eat all day long and drink plenty. It was also suggested I may be overdoing it a bit which DP seems to think means I can't have days out Angry FFS I work from home and I barely do anything I swear... I get bloody bored sat around all the time. Going to GP tomorrow to request blood tests to check thyroid and iron. Ironically that will mean 3 hours of running around as I will have to go to the hospital to get bloods drawn.. le sigh.

At least I no longer need to fel guilty about my voracious appetite...Grin

jellypi3 · 13/12/2015 20:19

sky I had exactly the same. High ketones when I was feeling sick and lightheaded and was told to eat more even though 20 minutes before I'd polished off a pasty and had had breakfast and a litre of water that morning!!

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/12/2015 20:22

I always feel really grim if I don't eat often enough too, I hope you start to feel better soon sky.
I think my sinuses are swollen with a head cold Sad

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/12/2015 20:30

Flowers for the poorly viroids. I have sinus ishoos too Thursday. Real pain in the bum, they are. Although I am Canadian and medical advice I hot when I was there in October is that nasal sprays and OTC cold medicine are ok in moderation so I ran with that.

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/12/2015 20:38

I'm sticking with lemsip for a minute, colds usually run through their symptoms quite quickly in me, so I'll probably be snotty tomorrow then coughing the next Grin and hopefully over it then.
They do make your face feel funny don't they?

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/12/2015 20:39

My face always feels funny Grin

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/12/2015 20:40

Well, I didn't like to say...
Wink

MollyBloomYes · 13/12/2015 20:48

Thursday is lemsip ok in pregnancy? I thought it wasn't because of the decongestant. If it is I'm so getting some, feel like crap every morning with sinus and general ill!

Had someone have a go at me on a name thread earlier. Just wanted to double check the pronunciation of an Irish middle name I'm considering as I've heard two possibilities. Apparently because I'm not 100% sure of pronunciation or 'can't' pronounce it I shouldn't use it. Well...no. Hence why I'm checking you tit!

Mermaid36 · 13/12/2015 20:50

Ok, I need help! What is the current thinking re hair dye in the first tri?

My hair is highly coloured, and very distinctive - think 3 different shades of purple/lilac....

I had it done last when I was 4wks pregnant, but didn't know that I was. It's done by the hairdresser and is foils on top and the bottom colour is just painted on.

I have read that I shouldn't have it done again in the 1st tri but I'm sceptical about what putting dye on hair will actually do to the baby...

My bestie is horrified that I'm even considering it, but there is no way I can manage until mid/late January without getting it done. I've already got very visible roots and was planning on getting it redone before Xmas.

Am I being terribly blasé about something serious?

TriJo · 13/12/2015 21:01

Out of curiosity Molly what name are you thinking of? Quite a few Irish names have regional variations in pronunciation.

ThursdayLastWeek · 13/12/2015 21:14

TBH molly I haven't researched it thoroughly. I picked one without caffeine, but I don't drink volume enough to worry too much.

MollyBloomYes · 13/12/2015 21:15

Eilís. My dad's family are originally from Cork but the only one who'd definitely know over here (my Gran) has dementia so is a bit unreliable!

I'd avoid the hair dye to be honest, I'd always heard that even if it doesn't harm the baby pregnancy hormones can produce unexpected colour results from normal!

oneyorkshirepud · 13/12/2015 21:17

Molly ignore them, they sound like a right muppet.

Can't help on the hair advice Mermaid but I do like the sound of your hair do!

Chocolate for the poorly Viroids, feel better soon.

MollyBloomYes · 13/12/2015 21:17

Thursday I may well consider it then if my nose keeps acting up!

Sky you are fab and truly a source of excellent knowledge!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/12/2015 21:36

*disclaimer I am clearly ot a doctor or midwife but coming from another culture I was shocked how conservative health professionals are here in tems of what they say is and isn't allowed. I prefer to do a bit research and make up my own mind. So by no means am I pushing my views on any of you!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 13/12/2015 21:41

Aw thanks Molly!

Mermaid36 · 13/12/2015 21:45

sky thanks very much! Most of the stuff I've read online says it's bad, but there doesn't seem to be any actual stories of terrible things happening....

FWIW - my hair hasn't been my natural colour for years and years....actually, it's been 6 different colours in the last year (none of them 'normal')....

MollyBloomYes · 13/12/2015 21:47

I'm a big fan of doing own research but as you say, U.K. sources are very conservative and it's sometimes difficult to know which other web sources are legit. I intended on getting 'expecting better' this pregnancy as I've heard good things but never quite got round to it. Tbh with baby only really laying down fat stores now til the birth I feel I can afford to be more relaxed! I do know that lemsip can affect your milk supply if you're planning on breastfeeding though!
