Thanks to all of you for your wishes, still feeling dog rotten here but am determined to get back in work tomorrow if for no other reason than to just show face to avoid any chance of mat leave bring reset (although it can only be restarted for maternity issues such a pre-eclampsia, say. I don't think the squits would qualify....)

Anyway, I hope you got some action Poodles and things are moving in the right direction soon. I'd be 100% zen with my funny tum-tum if I thought it was an early sign of labour (as Elvi suggested) but NOPE - this is just a mean little bug.

Plus I'm only 36+5 and the house is a state so I could do with the wee one staying put for now!!

Nousername2015 · 06/01/2016 07:45

Happy due date elvi!

sweets Sorry to hear you are feeling rough still, hope things improve today for you.

Midwife appointment today and going to beg to be booked in for a sweep next week. I think my chances of success are slim but anything to try and see an end to this anxiety, another sleepless night worrying about movement last night! It's a good job I can function on little sleep.

Elvi1 · 06/01/2016 08:22

nousername - almost - 39 weeks today so due a week today, but thanks! You poor thing, anxiety is horrible but try to bear in mind it can happen any day now. Hopefully after speaking to your mw today (is it your 38wk appointment?) she will reassure you and you will feel less stressed and worried. Well, at least for another week, and the you will be closer to due date anyway.

oneconfusedchick · 06/01/2016 10:35

I haven't even packed my hospital bag - not due till 26th tho. I was 2 weeks overdue and had to be induced with DC1 though so that's probably y I am not concerned . As for what to wear I just wore whatever hospital gown they gave me lol x

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 06/01/2016 10:45

My hospital bag is finally done I think, it's been a work in progress for weeks. I'm not sure how much to take. I have strep b so will need to be in at least 24hrs once baby is born so they can observe her, but it could end up being longer if there are any problems. With dd I was in nearly a week because the bugger didn't want to feed from me.

Nousername I also panic a bit about movements, it is just such a responsibility! Mine is quite quiet at nighttime and it's so easy to worry yourself sick at 3am!

I've written today off labour wise, I've booked a haircut for this afternoon.

Icklepickle101 · 06/01/2016 10:55

Please can I join Grin

I have an ELCS booked for te 21st so 2 weeks tomorrow but last night started eating twinges and I have this feeling things might be starting sooner!!

I thought I was all prepared and now I'm terrified but also want the baby out ASAP!!

Hopefully labour will start soon for everyone overdue/term!!

Elvi1 · 06/01/2016 15:33

Hey ickle - is this your first? It's hard knowing what these twinges mean. I've have been
having constant mild pains low down today - it's frustrating not knowing whether these feelings will develop into anything more over next day or two, or whether it will amount to nothing and disappear.

Icklepickle101 · 06/01/2016 16:06

Yes dc1 for me!!

The 'twinges' woke me up but I just assumed it was strong braxton hicks because I needed a wee and had dtd for the first time in months

When are you due Elvi? Maybe get walking and try and dtd to see if your twinges amount to anything useful?

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 06/01/2016 16:21

Hi ickle Smile I've been plauged my twinges too. Doing the school run has bought on some braxton hicks but nothing too exciting.

I've got my fingers crossed that midwife will give me a sweep tomorrow.

Elvi1 · 06/01/2016 16:48

I'm due a week today. I've asked DH to dtd twice in the last couple of days but he's refusing - he seems to think that he might poke the baby or squirt in it's face or something! I've told him that he's being ridiculous (and im sure/hope he's just being silly because feels uncomfortable to him what with baby being low down now). I may try reminding him tonight that it was actually recommended in our antenatal classes....

Icklepickle101 · 06/01/2016 16:53

My DP took a lot of persuasion!! In the end I squeezed in to the sexiest bra and knickers that I could fit my lard are in to and straddled him until he gave in. Threaten him with a wank in a mug and turkey baster duty, you need those prostaglandins!!! Grin

Elvi1 · 06/01/2016 18:02

Hahaha Grin well I'm surprised he hasn't been seduced by my massive granny pants to be honest! I should have abstained from giving him a helping hand earlier this week...Ahem!

right, I will set about seducing him/sexually assaulting him later this evening (if I don't fall asleep first!, which is quite likely).

Nousername2015 · 06/01/2016 18:55

Dh will not oblige here either, 'scared of hurting the baby' is his excuse Angry Any ideas on persuasion tactics?

Asked for sweep, not allowed unless consultant led before 40 weeks (as expected) but made the appointment for 2 weeks time which gives me something to aim for.

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 06/01/2016 19:39

My dp has been quite happy to oblige so far. I wanted to do it last night but I ate too much dinner and felt sick then fell asleep.

I got lots of pitying looks today on the school run. First day back and I am meant to have a baby by now Grin

oneconfusedchick · 06/01/2016 22:58

I am just not up for it at the moment sex wise - for some reason pregnancy puts me off I feel like a beached whale lol not really up for anything other than a cuddle lol! X

tinyme135 · 06/01/2016 23:43

no sign of any new babies then. I'm hating this waiting game. we dtd on new years night to "celebrate" the new year hoping it would kick start something but nope and since then he's said it felt too weird and he's scared he'd hurt the bump -.- thought he would be gagging for it (sorry tmi).

at the moment I keep getting stomach cramps and needing the toilet even if I don't need to go. I keep getting mild pains and back aches. the lightening pains are getting that bad it caused me to cry earlier.

hope everyone else is coping better than me haha.

fourlegstwolegs · 07/01/2016 12:47

Hi Ickle, I'm having a c section on the 21st too. No twinges here though! My almost 3yo DS has chosen this week to become a naughty, tantrumming challenging child, so an interesting few weeks lie ahead!

I have sympathy with anyone overdue. I went 9 days over last time, had three sweeps, it was not fun!!!

2ManySweets · 07/01/2016 12:56

I want someone to have a baby!!! It's almost like waiting for the gun to fire on the 100m at the athletics (hopefully with fewer false starts, eh?)

Back to work today, only one more day to go and that's it! Full of mixed emotions in a way; mostly relieved and "SEE YA" about leaving the place for a year; but also weirdly apprehensive about the new life and the new conversations and day to day things I'll be experiencing before long.

Still more excited than not; viewing labour as a necessary ordeal to get through, rather like a charity boxing match I suppose - lots of pain and brutality but for an ultimately good cause!

Looks also like hormones are having a last major hurrah; had to really hold it down earlier when I was eating lunch in a cafe and "Just the way you are" by Billy Joel came on the radio. Near floods. Styled it out.

Anyway, if that wasn't a pointless emotional post then I don't know what is - as you were guys Wink

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 07/01/2016 13:03

I'm really trying to have baby! Grin had a sweet this morning so fingers crossed that'll do something. Got induction booked for a week tomorrow. I was induced last time and it actually wasn't too bad so wouldn't mind that again but would rather not have to wait another week!

You must be relieved to have nearly finished work sweets. It's surprising how quickly you get used to it.

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 07/01/2016 13:03

Not a sweet, a sweep! Grin A sweet would have been more pleasant.

2ManySweets · 07/01/2016 13:07

I am relieved - relieved is actually the word - and feel blessed that I work in a job where I can take 12 months and really experience no massively negative financial effects.

I'm waving the Pom-poms for you Poodles, re sweep. Getting a January thread to stick in time for the first births coming round was hard but it's been done now - in the nick of time! The babies arriving is what it's all about! Star

vickyors · 07/01/2016 14:56

Hey all.. I'm also one day away from finishing work sweets.. (How do you get that bold thing?) and cannot wait to finish.. Currently have thrush, which sucks! Have planned various nice social things for next week.. And actually feel like we're getting a bit more sorted as our friend delivered various bits and bobs we'd lent her.. Roll on tomorrow.. And still stalking all of those who are due already.. I only get a final date for c section next Thursday.. Feeling impatient now..

Oh, and as for Dtd.. At the moment, I simply can't face anything more than a cuddle!! Smile

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 07/01/2016 16:54

I think ive had my show and I'm very crampy and uncomfortable Confused

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 07/01/2016 16:56

Bold is this but without spaces

Nousername2015 · 07/01/2016 17:04

Exciting news poodles! I agree, it is about time one of us had a baby on here Smile

Mine can hold out until after Saturday though, off to the football in the hope that the excitement and adrenaline will get things going!
