All joking aside, if I were more Excel literate i'd be creating a stats sheet, however I'm not so I can't!
My EDD is 29 January and I'm having a wee girl - I'm so excited now there's basically only 8 weeks to go!

Currently 31+3

XxxNewtsxxX · 30/11/2015 14:10

Boy over here and 32+5. Not bought a whole lot yet, wrote a list of what I think we need last night and nearly passed out at how much there is!

XxxNewtsxxX · 30/11/2015 14:35

I've nearly got everything I need but there will probably be things that have been over looked lol

I'm having a girl too Smile
Was going to maybe try the raspberry leaf tea, my friend swears that and using her birthing ball helped her not go over her due date......I really don't want to go over.

Question for fellow January due dates: anyone else feel the onset of the same kind of pentrating tiredness after week 30 like the tiredness from the first tri?

I've upped my iron and am watching my diet and exercise and can barely keep my eyes open beyond 8:30 at the moment....

XxxNewtsxxX · 30/11/2015 22:43

Yes some days I get unbelievably tired like 1st term but others I am tired but as soon as I get into bed I wake up

Nousername2015 · 01/12/2015 03:05

Insomnia, don't you just love it!!

anneliandbetsy · 01/12/2015 08:37

Same, nackered but can't sleep.

Does any one else have pets?
I have a 2 and half year old Jack Russell. She's used to toddlers (nieces and nephews, has eaten a fair few shitty nappies my sister and brother haven't managed to get in the binConfused) and is very good (will go and hide away if she's had enough) but still wondering how she will take to the new arrival.

Anyone else got a similar situation?
I've started trying to play baby sounds (crying) , so she can get used to them & my brother is coming here to look after her when I go in to labour so as not to disturb her routine so much.
I know it seems a bit OTT but she's been like our child. We grew up with lots of animals (never left alone with them I might add).

Nousername2015 · 01/12/2015 10:08

We are having babies next month (hoping to not go overdue!) ... Shock

I have a cat anneli and have started to wonder the same. She's very docile but I know this may not be the case once a baby turns our lives upside down. I read that sending your partber back from hospital with a worn babygro can help as they become familiar with the scent of baby before you arrive home. I'm planning to do that and also maybe get some of that feliway stuff in just in case.

Boosiehs · 01/12/2015 10:20

20th January elcs booked. I am SO tired!

Waddling like a fat old lady and struggling with PGP.

I can't WAIT to finish work. 23 days and counting...

Tootle10 · 01/12/2015 10:53

Tiredness started to kick in for me around 33 weeks and now feel constantly exhausted. My bump also seems to be growing at an alarming rate!

Finish work on 17th Dec and cannot wait Grin

anneliandbetsy · 01/12/2015 11:31

Nousername2015 - that's a good idea with the baby clothes!! What's feliway?
She's already really intrigued by the babies room and thinks any soft toy is for her Grin
Next month ahhhh exciting (I think mine will end up being a Feb baby, if my sister and mum are anything to go by).

XxxNewtsxxX · 01/12/2015 16:41

@nousername2015 I have a 13 year old and 3 year old cats and a 8 year old jack Russell. I'm not sure how they will take to the baby when he's here. Jack Russell is good with kids but can get very jealous at time so I'm worrying about that hopefully he won't be jealous.

Does anyone know what the estimated weight of baby will be when born ? I know mine was estimated at 4 and half pounds at my 32 week scan so I think he'll be about 6.6 or 7 when born

OP posts:
Nousername2015 · 01/12/2015 20:51

Feliway is a plug in device that transmits pheromones that calms animals down. To me it's a bit like drugging your pets so I'd only consider if my cat got especially agitated. They sell it in places like pets at home and other big pet stores.
I'm not having any more extra scans but did have a growth scan at 28 weeks and he was 3.1lb then. No idea how heavy he is now but he is feeling a bit large!

XxxNewtsxxX · 01/12/2015 23:56

I'm having loads of extra scans for some reason even though he's growing fine and is healthy they just keep booking me for scans maybe because it's my 1st pregnancy but no one I know has had the amount I'm having lol

OP posts:
Rpj16 · 02/12/2015 04:22

I've got a feliway, but makes no difference to my cats, it releases hormones that cats have into the air so the house smells comforting to them. My cats don't relax much, always playing and running around! Ha.
Is anyone on this thread up? I've been awake for an hour with this stupid insomnia. 7 weeks to go until a reason to be awake arrives!!

2ManySweets · 02/12/2015 08:40

Urghhhhh, day off sick here. I feel like such a fraud but I've got to remember a) my baby has to come first and b) that I'm growing an actual real human and that's not a walk in the park.

Just felt so sick from last night and woke up feeling nauseous like I did in the first tri; however have some real pains in the fanjo/cervical area that feel like I've been repeatedly hoofed there. Plus baby feels LOW. I dunno if it's just the fact that some babies engage well early but I'm taking a TLC day out on the sofa just so I can attempt to feel stronger to go in tomorrow.

Also: first NCT class tonight. Anyone else started them? I'm up for it but also weirdly sceptical. Have heard they can be a bit "lentils" re: natural drug free birthing as the great ideal...

Nousername2015 · 03/12/2015 07:55

How are you feeling today sweets? How did nct go last night? We don't have many in our area so they tend to do a class for due dates over 2 months so I've already finished mine! I really enjoyed it, our teacher was really open minded about stuff too (except for c sections - work of the devil apparently! I say get baby out safe!) which helped to dispel some of the stories I'd heard. We all finished feeling really excited about our babies.
Tried playing music to my bump last night, stuck a loud song on and put my phone near his feet, it got a proper booting!

lilyb84 · 03/12/2015 14:09

Hello all! I was on the other January thread and moved over to FB as many of you have said, but I'm still lingering around here. Due on 22nd Jan with a little boy, and finishing work the 15th, generally feeling completely exhausted - worse than the 1st trimester 2manysweets but at least I have a visible excuse Smile

anneli we have two indoor cats and I have zero idea how they're going to react to the baby - we'll just have to wait and see and deal with it at the time if it's a problem. I tried a Feliway plug-in earlier this year when they were having a bit of a spat and it did seem to calm them down a bit, but it's too expensive for me to justify buying all the time. I'll consider it if they react badly to baby as a way of calming the situation down at least while they get used to it...!

If anyone wants me to set up a stats sheet I'm happy to do so Smile

2ManySweets · 04/12/2015 07:22

Bonjour; feeling much better now, thanks for asking NoUsername Smile I swear its Thai food that sets off the feeling "blarghhh" and like in the first tri the moment I feel hunger I eat lest I feel pukey.
So NCT was fine, I think I like my class but also feel a little out the loop as it's quite a motley crew and a very small class to boot. Considering I'm in effectively Nappy Valley I'm surprised at the small headcount. I'm sure it'll be fine.
Was back in work yesterday; the hell of it all. Am torn between hanging onto "normality as I know it" and keeping buggering on there or just basically going "fuck this" and repeatedly take days off to "grow the baby". I know we shouldn't expect/demand special treatment because we're preggo ("it's not an illness you know" Angry) but some of the hassle in my day job makes me want to point at my bump and just say "REALLY???"
Builders are in tomorrow (not a euphemism honest) so that'll be me and DP de-dusting the house for a 4th Sunday night in a row...
lilyb I take it you're finishing Dec 15th and not January 15th?!
boosiehs I take it you're finished at Christmas then? So tempted to do the same. Ps: odd question - does your username mean "cuddles"?
