Exciting times oi! Does anyone know if many more babies have arrived on the fb group?

Nothing here except lots of shooting pains from baby's head which I'm taking as a positive. Not a single braxton hick or anything else though. Just had a curry that DH decided to lace with 4 scotch bonnets. Not a pleasant experience but if it does the job...

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 03/01/2016 20:20

I'm not on the fb group I'm afraid

Would love it if she could come by Wednesday. Not looking forward to the long walks on the school run Confused

I've not had spicy food, but sex seems to be triggering things for me!

lilyb84 · 03/01/2016 23:33

20 babies have been born on the FB group and only one reached 40 weeks! All the others have been early so far. Still 38 babies to go over there (including mine...).

Vague period type pains here which suggest things are moving in the right direction but nothing to say baby's on his way any time soon. I'm also back at work this week until the 15th and really not looking forward to it... but not long to go now!

Hope things ramp up for you soon oi...

2ManySweets · 04/01/2016 06:19

To all of you going back to work today I salute you, I'm lucky enough to WFH today and then back in until the 8th - I'm already quite Confused about how I'm going to be able to stay awake, mobile, and of a relatively pleasant demeanour having to be "on" between 9 and 5.

I know it sounds so bad but if ONE person says "oh you've got SO BIG", I reserve the right to fly into a homicidal rage Wink

Nousername2015 · 04/01/2016 06:43

No way lily, 20 babies before 40 weeks! (There's hope for us all yet!)

Good luck anyone heading back to work today, not too much longer now!

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 04/01/2016 08:21

20 before 40 weeks! I'm so jealous Angry

Officially overdue today. Doesn't seem to be much going on.

I get the opposite sweets. I'm tall and baby is small so I probably look about 7 months. People look very confused when I tell them I'm due now Grin it produces equally homicidal feelings!

tinyme135 · 04/01/2016 09:32

I'm average height but when people ask me how far gone am I they expect me to say 28-30 weeks not 39 xD. I had a really tiny figure when I became pregnant and hardly ate much so that's probably why haha.

keep having constant lower aching pains seems to be there all the while but sometimes it gets a bit more uncomfortable of you know what I mean. back pain is also slowly getting worse and fingers keep swelling, I look like shrek xD.

good luck to all the ladies going back to work today, I don't know how you do it.

2ManySweets · 04/01/2016 09:51

Oi, I get both due to my dress for work (Seraphine formal workwear makes me look like the QE2) and my casual long jumpers and mat jeans combo makes my bump look much more "fluid" so that gets comments of "oh you look a bit small for 9 months" Hmm

Either way - homicidal rage

(I'm a nice person - honestly!!)

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 05/01/2016 10:23

My work uniform resembled a pink patterned tent. It made my bum look as big as my bump, I felt like Kim Kardashian! Was definitely not flattering but at least it was comfy.

How is everyone holding up? I'm getting increasingly grumpy and feel like labour isn't coming anytime soon. Keep reminding myself I'm only 2 days overdue so can't be too impatient yet.

Elvi1 · 05/01/2016 12:41

I'm not due until Wednesday and despite having things to do I am feeling very....'bored'. I start doing something (tidying up, putting things away) for short period, then get bored or tired, sit down for a bit, get bored, have bath, get bored, sit staring at things to put away....cycle of bordom. i will feel even more restless next week. But I know if should enjoy this time and I WILL try to be proactive! Currently washing new baby clothes - never usually wash new clothes but read that it's good for baby as their skin is so delicate.

Elvi1 · 05/01/2016 12:47

Oh, and I still haven't got anything to wear during labour. Will go in comfy clothing but for the actual birth I don't actually have anything that will cover my dignity - does anyone know whether the hospital will provide you with one of those rather fetching generic gowns you tend to be put in when admitted to hospital?

fourlegstwolegs · 05/01/2016 14:08

I've got just over two weeks to go. I'm quite stressed and panic regularly about movements - just want the baby here safe and sound - the 21st can't come quickly enough!

fourlegstwolegs · 05/01/2016 14:09

ps Elvi, yes they always have those gowns if you need one. I ended up in a bikini top, no pants and a sheet over me, up until the point where I ended up having surgery. I'd "planned" a nice water birth. Ho hum!

2ManySweets · 05/01/2016 14:42

Elvi I'm planning on labouring in a Primark robe, their nightwear is dead cheap and the nighties are cotton and a nice length.

I'm also planning on taking in two of their nighties as they are not only cotton but also v stretchy so boobs can be out for bf!

Am off work sick today with a mystery tummy bug. Be careful what you wish for ladies, I was all like "can't be arsed" yesterday am; now I am all like "it's IMPERATIVE" I get back there (else they may reset my mat leave start date to Dec 23rd) Confused

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 05/01/2016 15:09

I refused to wear anything when I was in labour last time. I got too hot and stripped off. I remember the midwife trying to make me put clothes on so they could move me to the labour ward and I was absolutely not having any of it Grin definitely not dignity there! I think I ended up with a sheet draped over me while I was in the wheelchair.

This time I'm taking some of dp's t shirts, we'll see if I actually wear them or not.

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 05/01/2016 15:10

Hope you feel better soon sweets! What annoying timing!

Phizpop · 05/01/2016 15:15

Hi there, I was around in the January club many months ago, but had issues with resetting and remembering password... 2 weeks +1 to go for me.

Enjoying some lazy days now I'm on mat leave but elvi I know what you mean, I have a list of things to do, but get tired quickly (really not helped by the 2 hourly nocturnal bathroom trips, then bouts of insomnia), sit down and then feel bored!
Also I echo 2manysweets got some nighties from primark for labour...!

Phizpop · 05/01/2016 15:18

Oh yes sweets hope you are better quickly to avoid the early mat leave issue

tinyme135 · 05/01/2016 15:35

I'm hoping for a lovely water birth but going to wear dp's old top for both that or normal birth. I have also got a cotton nighty for after birth so I can hopefully breastfeed.

I've got 5 days left and I'm counting down the days. I bet when the day comes I'll be begging for it go be over with haha.

hope everyone is feeling better or gets better.

Elvi1 · 05/01/2016 15:37

I kept meaning to go to primark to get some sort of night shirt but I just didn't get around to it and don't fancy the trip out now. I'm hoping to be up and about for 'active' birth and use a water pool so perhaps il also end in bikini top and half naked - just good to know that they will be able to give me some sort of coverup if I need it!

fourlegs I know how you feel - I commented to DH the day before last that baby wasn't as active, and he started worrying saying we should watch out for change in movement etc. Anyway, his worry rubbed off on me and after a night of not feeling much at all, we decided to go into the maternity assessment unit - all was fine! I don't think I would have been worried had DH not said anything cos it's normal for my baby to be really active, and have an occasional quiet day. If your baby's movement is sporadic and has caused worry throughout, I'm sure that's normal for you but don't be afraid of getting checked out for reassurance. They were really lovely. After a quiet 24hours, baby hasn't stopped moving today!

Ar sweets, hope feel better soon. On plus side the mystery tummy bug could be your body getting ready for the big day??!

Nousername2015 · 05/01/2016 16:34

We share the same due date phiz!

I also have a Primark special to sport at some point in hospital. I've also got a couple of the asda comfort bras in my bag, figure that if I'm lucky enough to nab a pool I can just wear that and if I'm not in a pool I can whip out the Primark special.

sweets hope you feel better tomorrow to avoid forced mat leave.

elvi glad all is ok. Must admit I'm super paranoid about movement now everything is so close.

vickyors · 05/01/2016 19:40

Hey all.. Hope you feel better tomorrow sweets- can your work even do that?? Ugh. I've got three more days in work and really struggling.. Feeling kinda sicky today so doing nothing this eve.. And thinking that next week when I'm on Mat leave I plan to do nothing when my toddler is in nursery!

Has anyone else done stuff like cooking meals for freezer? Last pregnancy (I was two weeks late) I froze loads of meals to get us through the early weeks..! This time- nowt! We haven't even got the Moses basket from our mate yet! Smile

Hope you're all sleeping ok.. And excited to hear about those people who are due soon!

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 05/01/2016 19:58

I've not cooked anything this time either vicky. Last time I didn't find it that helpful, I just cooked simple meals with baby in a sling so plan on doing that again. My lovely sister has started to fill my freezer for me just in case.

I'm spending the evening bouncing on my birthing ball, did a super long dog walk earlier and I've told dp that tonight we're having sex. I want this baby out now! Well I wanted her out on her due date but shan't be fussy Grin

vickyors · 05/01/2016 20:43

Good luck with the sex Poodles hope it gets things going! Will you have a sweep or anything at some point?

OiWithThePoodlesAlready · 05/01/2016 21:02

I'm not sure yet. I've got the midwife on Thursday when I'll be 40+4 so I'll see what's going to happen then. I was induced with my first at 40+3 because of reduced movement so going into labour naturally is an unknown and terrifying territory for me!
