Congrata liberty and phizpop! :D
Sweets, I too put on a massive 3 stone. I was 10 St before I was pregnant, so will be weighing myself next time I find some scales to see what I've lost since birth.
Good luck :)

Congratulations liberty Flowers
you just beat me, our little boy (we were right - it was a boy, it was a surprise, but we had been convinced from the outset!). Our boy arrived at 15.35 yesterday weighing a hefty 9lb 8, I tore. Third degree - so a bit of a whirlwind trip to theatre, I was shattered after no real sleep apart from kit nips between contractions for 40 hours, and no food for 24 (got told off after for not eating, but felt so nauseous, my last meal had come up anyway!). Night staff have been lovely but now it's time to move... Wish me luck! sweets you are nearly there!

Hello all

Am now also on the "Overdue Club" thread as - guess what - am now overdue, only by 3 days but that's three longggggggggggggg days.

Congrats to rpj and good luck to phizpop.

So, so tired, lugging around an extra 3 stone (yep) is really starting to take it out of me now, bigtime. Only 11 days max to go Hmm

How is it this morning? I hope you have started now, weird that there could be 3 of us who went into labour just before being induced!

Try eating something that will make you do a big poo to kick things off maybe. Coffee? And dont get excited yet, adrenaline may slow down everything, I found being pessimistic helped. I wish I had a protein shake when mild contractions started, as I was kinda hungry later on, but was in too much pain to eat. My show came during labour when I was on toilet, like a gunky period, not sure if that's what 'tinged pink' means, but certainly more show than expected.

Also if you are labouring but its very bad and you are tired, accept the pethadrine (think that's what its called). was not on my birth plan, but had it at 1am and 2cm dilated, slept for an hour, woke up in incredible pain at 8cm dilated!! really helped me to relax my cervix. ohh I'm so excited for you.

We all came home last night :) Baby is fine, had awesome sleep. dp was amazing. I struggled with BF so am exclusively pumping with emergency nipple shields if he needs a quick feed/comfort. My last message had a lot of typos, ive been talking nonsense last few days - so I meant, 'did our little baby's portaits' lol!

Yay glad you going home rpj is your little boy better or will he have to stay a bit longer?
Contractions started at 4am this morning, varying between 5 and 8 minutes for about 9 hours then slowed down to once an hour (just as I tried to nod off one would wake me again.) think Ive had a show, but no waters yet. Contractions started up again about 2 hours ago, I suspect no sleep tonight, question is will I go in before induction or will it calm down again... Want to meet our little one now! Any tips for keeping going when functioning on no sleep?

Phizpop - how induction is nice and swift for you!

I'm being discharged this evening ! Today was loveliest part of post labour days in hospital. Bounty came around the wards and did or little bits portraits - so cute and tbh I thought it would be a lot more expensive than it was - had anyone else done these?

Totally cheered me up. £59 down tho.....worth it!!

:D

Sounding positive chick no movement here so preparing for induction on Monday now. Now feeling in denial and should really be making the most of our last 2 baby free days!

Just had my first sweep for this baby. I'm 40+3 and she said I was 1-2 cm dilated which I'm pleased about as didn't have that last time j til I'd been and had the pessary during induction! Have booked another sweep for Tuesday. Not sure if it will do anything but fingers crossed would be nice to go in to labour without the drip this time. She said what they will prob do is just break my waters at induction not use pessary as I am already a bit dialted then they can give me an hour or so to see if I start contractions before the drip - this sounds good!

phiz sewing a good distraction technique - I made a little dress yesterday

She didnt seem so persistent as the midwife last week, but we shall see! Baby currently enjoying the ice-cream treat, so at least I know it's happy in there! Preparing for induction, at least there is an end date! Don't mind the process of induction as am idea, just not relishing having to spend the whole labour in the hospital!
Tomorrows distraction plan, sewing and bread making!

phizpop did the mw attempt it at all? Because she may have stimulated something even by trying. Your cervix really can change so quickly, literally overnight - you still have 3 whole days until your induction. Either way, come Wednesday you will definitely have your baby!

phizpop that must be disappointing but at least you know you get to meet LO on Monday Smile

Well the sweep was unsuccessful this time (different midwife too!) Sad I think chances for spontaneity in labour before Monday now unlikely - feeling really fed up now, was so hoping things had moved forward and had more regular braxton hicks last night, but hey ho!
I know I should be up moving about, but currently cuddled up on sofa with a hot chocolate, with a friend bringing round ice cream later!

phizpop - it certainly did, I gave birth the following day. My cervix still wasn't entirely favourable - it was firm and posterior (still!), but had shorterned to 1cm so she able to give me a good sweep and it worked for me, but as I think I said in earlier post, I had mentally prepared myself to be induced 2 days later. Good luck - let us know how you get on!

Rpj16 - congratulations! aw bless him - he'll be good to go home soon!

There seems to be a lot of boys being born in Jan!

Hi all :) I was all ready for induction at 3pm yesterday, but at 11.30am I was contracting every 6 minutes. Midwife didn't feel the need to induce so went into labour on my own last night! Helped by a final sweep at 6.30. Pethadrin at 1am this morning and between then and 4am dilated from 2cm to 8cm. Had the water birth I wanted after all :)
I didn't anticipate how painful contractions would be!
Our baby boy was born at 6.30 this morning in the water!
He's not very well though. Has a small air hole in his lung, so is in neonatal, but visiting often and expressing milk. He's lovely. Should be alright soon :) I'm just gonna enjoy a sleep tonight. Come on phizpop, you are next!! X

That's the plan elvi, it helped second time round for you didn't it? Here's hoping!

Anyway going to treat ourselves to dinner out tonight, shame there isn't much on at the cinema (don't often go, seems such a lot of money to watch a big TV, but getting a bit bored now!) got a friend coming g round in the eve tomorrow if required, and I think I'll have another baking session. Been quite low and inactive the last couple of days (my parents visit at the weekend exhausted me!), trying to feel relaxed, but I think it's time to get moving again!
