still at hospital. baby is fine just not taking so easy to the breast so might have to go to formula fed.

unfortunately I had a tare during labour and while removing the placenta the chord snapped so I had to have surgery to remove it. since waking up at half 4 yesterday morning I have had a grand total of one hours sleep and won't be getting much tonight as they want to check up on me between every 2-4 hours. Oh well haha I have this most amazing gorgeous bundle of joy now :)

Phizpop · 16/01/2016 22:48

Sorry to hear you are having a tough start tiny. Hope you can get a bit of rest in between observations, and that your baby starts feeding in whatever way suits you both. Think you need some Cake and Brew after all that!

lilyb84 · 17/01/2016 08:27

More wishes for rest from me tiny - glad you're staying positive!

vickyors · 17/01/2016 19:13

Congratulations tiny and I hope you've got abut of rest today!

How's everyone else doing?

oneconfusedchick · 17/01/2016 21:09

Feeling like a beached whale lol! Tossed and turned last night with hip ache. Baby has been moving like crazy today - really strong movements so might even have changed position! Went to inlaws and had a bath tonight which was lovely (we don't have one at mo!) feel like I've still got ages to go. 39!weeks tues :)

lilyb84 · 18/01/2016 00:08

I've had a really uncomfortable day, back and bump very tight and back very painful this evening in particular. Had friends round all afternoon for dinner and films which was nice distraction but DH got drunk which he'd promised not to do so I had a bit of an emotional go at him. I just don't want to go into labour knowing he's drunk and will therefore be a) useless and b) feeling rather worse for wear before we've even got baby home! Baby's going crazy here too, I've been almost crying with pain every time he moves as it sends agonising pains through my back. Funny how every day is different at the mo - will probably feel absolutely fine tomorrow!

anneliandbetsy · 18/01/2016 01:36

Oh I don't know what I'd do without the bath nice that you can use your in laws. Feeling like a beached whale too!
Feeling similar with the annoying partners, he's got man flu and he's driving me mad. Sneezing huffing puffing etc. I usually take him to the train station in the mornings at 7:15 and I've told him that will not be happening this week. Feel mean as hell have to leave a lot earlier but I need to try and rest.
I went in for reduced movements yesterday baby was fine just being awkward went crazy when I got there Grin- 2nd time so they offered me induction. I declined but they gave me an internal examination to get things going. Apparently my cervix has softened and is 2cm so things were starting - lost bloody mucus yesterday and had backache / period pain. Stopped and now I'm bloody irritated. Want to bite everyone's head off.

lilyb84 · 18/01/2016 03:05

Argh, anneli, annoying l! Still, sounds like things are moving in the right direction so hopefully they'll start again soon. Try to relax and get rest while you can in the meantime (and too bloody right you won't be driving anyone anywhere this week!).

Hello from insomnia corner here; now waking up at 0430 as standard - did this yesterday and fell asleep again at 0600. Body clock smashed.

Plus freaking out about guts again. It's quietened down a bit but (TMI TMI) poops are v pale and everything I read is pointing to liver/bile duct issues. Will be calling GP today to find out WTF is going on as a bit scared now.

fourlegstwolegs · 18/01/2016 05:19

Insomnia here too....been awake since 3 something. It sucks!
sweets try not to worry - common things occur commonly so I'm sure your doctor will reassure you.

2ManySweets · 18/01/2016 05:26

Thanks fourlegs. I've been v v v lucky with this pregnancy (from concieving and smooth sailing since) and now I'm at week 38/40 I'm just really struggling with anything that could be wrong.
Don't really care about me right now, I just don't want anything to affect the baby (which is wriggling away as we speak thankfully)

oneconfusedchick · 18/01/2016 08:42

Woke up 530-7 last night - so not like me but happening frequently over last few weeks! Luckily my toddler didn't wake up till 8 so went back to sleep for a bit!

Boosiehs · 18/01/2016 08:55

Hope you are all feeling better this morning.

Countdown week for me this week. Blood tests today, meet surgeon and anaesthetist tomorrow and ELCS weds morning. Phew!

fourlegstwolegs · 18/01/2016 09:06

Just as I was about to fall asleep my DPs alarm went off (6.30) followed by shouts - water coming through the ceiling in the bathroom! So that's a fun thing to deal with today ;)

Countdown for me too Boosie - bloods on Weds, ELCS on Thurs! Wish I could be more excited - I'm so anxious about everything - that something will happen to the baby between now and then, the surgery, etc.... argh

lilyb84 · 18/01/2016 11:47

Ooh, exciting to have two babies arriving for sure this week! Hope you're feeling okay about your ELCS you two.

I was awake from 2.30 - 5.30 then fell asleep for a bit but am super tired now. Need to try to be a bit busier today to tire myself out properly...

sweets I'm sure everything's okay but good to get checked out for your peace of mind. I think a lot of us are worrying at this point about baby's wellbeing!

Boosiehs · 18/01/2016 21:59

Getting a bit nervous but excited to meet new baby!

Good luck four legs in case I forget in my excitement!

fourlegstwolegs · 19/01/2016 09:20

Thanks Boosie! You too!!!
Goodness it's cold today. -6c here!

lilyb84 · 19/01/2016 13:36

Hello all! Update: my waters went at ten to midnight last night and contractions started soon after. I've been in to hospital twice so far, first to be checked after waters going and second because the contractions were strong and regular... but not strong and regular enough so was sent home where I'm currently sitting in the bath rocking to myself to get through the pain. Ftm alert!! Finding it quite hard to cope to be honest but am doing my best to stay calm and relaxed and just hope things are progressing so I can be admitted to hospital again soon. Think it might be a while though...

anneliandbetsy · 19/01/2016 13:58

Argh Lily! That's really exciting news but sounds pretty tough too. Hopefully not too much longer until they let you go in and you will soon meet your little baby :)

I'm sat doing meaningless jobs (wiping makeup bottles and washing makeup bag, washing dog bed, cleaning bathroom for 3000th time, hoovering) in between dog walks and having bouts of toilet trouble. It's encouraging to hear things are moving along for you Lily - good luck! Smile

oneconfusedchick · 19/01/2016 14:10

Good luck to every one giving birth this week!! I'm 39 today come on baby! X

oneconfusedchick · 19/01/2016 14:15

I am getting bit of a stitch in my left hand side - had this a few times over pregnancy and pretty sure it's not labour - wishful thinking though!!

Rpj16 · 19/01/2016 17:16

Lily! that's so exciting :) wish I had some signs that things were moving on. Just braxtonhicks...I'm 40 +1 today.

vickyors · 19/01/2016 17:51

Good luck lily!
I finally saw consultant and have c section booked for next Tuesday.. They're already busy that day.. So I'm still crossing everything.

Feeling super hormonal today though with lots of cramps. Emotional rollercoaster.. Had a cry after the appointment for no real reason! Arhh!

Elvi1 · 20/01/2016 07:24

Wow - sounds like the babies are beginning to come think and fast! Good luck lily - I bet you have had yours by now!

I'm now a week late. Attempt at second sweep today but not holding out much hope. Getting head around induced labour and possibility of c-section if that fails. My friend reminded me that I would have felt really cross at someone moaning about not going into spontaneous labour a year ago when I had two back to back miscarriages, so that puts things into prospective a little - a healthy baby is a priority followed by an ability to bf. Good luck to those having ELCS - ypu will be ace! Smile

Rpj16 · 20/01/2016 07:53

Has anybody here suffered from puppps? or Pep? its a horrible pregnancy rash. I have a midwife app today, but think I might need prescription so thinking about booking doctor app at same time. Or do you think midwife can prescribe something for this? I heard steroid cream can help. I'll try anything, itches every night, and every night gets worse (last night being the worst..)
I have to call surgery at 8.30 to book. Is anyone about to advise midwife and/or doctor - wwyd?
