Hi just got my bfp! I'm early, 3 days before AF was due so not sure if I'm the only one with an August due date?

I'm due August 3rd Smile

My local trust refuse to see me until Tuesday as I'm "only 7 weeks and they're very busy you know". Great. On the other hand though I've managed to move my private scan forward to tomorrow. They were lovely and said if I really want they can fit me in at a different clinic later today (2.5hr drive away, would that be ridiculous?)

I've just cried on the phone to my boss Blush

Flybynight1 · 18/12/2015 09:46

Good luck jw!! Is that your booking in? I am with you about the sweet stuff! Toasted cheese and pickle sandwich for brekkie this morning was amazing! Thanks for the vote of confidence x

Glencoco I really hope so... It IS completely terrifying!! And we can't even drink to get through it!!

millie a day off whilst your dealing with this is nothing to be feeling guilty about!! Have you had the call from them yet? Hopefully they'll get you in for a scan and some reassurance x

Flybynight1 · 18/12/2015 10:24

On the boob front, I am now living in my sports bras! My normal ones are much too tight and really uncomfortable, but the shock absorbers seem to do the trick! Not attractive or sexy but they are doing a good job Smile

FourForYouGlenCoco · 18/12/2015 10:26

That's good though Milly that you've managed to move your scan, EPU don't sound very helpful though! Don't worry about crying to your boss, they're only human after all!
Mouse that sounds so rough, you poor thing! At least you're a bit more sorted now and the meds will hopefully help Smile

Well I finally got round to sorting my booking in appt - January 12th! Will be 11.5 weeks, squeezing in there before the magic 12 weeks. Not sure how it will work with scan - here they send your notes to the hospital and the hospital send you out a scan appt, which obviously all takes a while, so think I might be a bit past 12 weeks! Ah well.
Does anyone have/thinking about getting a home Doppler? Any thoughts?

Christinedonna · 18/12/2015 11:12

So I don't know if I'm losing the plot a bit but lately I really feel like quitting my job. I used to run my own department in a supermarket all day every day. I've since had to transfer and now work in a small shop 14 hours a week. I hate it there. If I could earn money from home or even have a job that i go in all day for one day a week. I just don't know if that's do able? Can I earn money from home? Any suggestions?

Jw35 · 18/12/2015 11:19

GlenCo I borrowed a Doppler with my last pregnancy and could here the heartbeat from about 15 weeks. Imo they're not worth having as it takes ages to find the heartbeat, you have to sit really still and when you do find it you turn it right up so a lot of headphone noise for a heartbeat! That said it was lovely but I only used it twice!

I can't go more than 2 hours without food but can't ever decide what to eat and end up eating bread all the time! It's not the booking appointment today but doctor will make it while I'm there

Hi Everyone!
crunchy glad I'm not the only late August one!

You're all making me feel much less alone which is lovely! I only got my BFP on Sunday so have spent all week wondering and worrying and also trying not to blurt it out in conversations - especially ones about work things which are past when I'll be on maternity leave!! LOL!

Great to meet you all :)

Morwenna1 · 18/12/2015 12:20

My word Mrs - that's amazing! I can imagine it's such a shock to you right now, but hopefully over time you'll adjust to the idea...?Flowers

Sorry to hear about your sickness Mouse, I've had ever so slight nausea in the mornings but nothing major. Yet! I'm 5+3 so fully anticipating it to turn up at some point!

Milly Your local Trust don't sound very helpful! I think that brown spotting is meant to be ok and normal, but the advice is to report any bleeding. Hopefully the private scan will help reassure you.

Does anyone else have slight twingy dull ache sensations where they would imagine their left ovary to be? It comes and goes, and isn't painful, just discomfort. Feeling a bit more positive as I've had nausea in the mornings, but still anxious over every feeling!

Hello Viper and Crunchy!

MrsSantaClause · 18/12/2015 12:30

Also in sports bras fly! My boobs are page 3 size! Shocksoooo heavy!

Jw35 · 18/12/2015 12:36

Morwenna I did until about a week ago. Both ovaries actually and had it throughout my last healthy pregnancy

I fell over I town today and bashed my knee. Was in tears and was taken to the GP when I blurted out to a stranger that I was pregnant. Thankfully all ok but a bit of a worry.

Christinedonna · 18/12/2015 16:21

Oh colabottle hope you're okay now

quitecrunchy · 18/12/2015 16:43

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I just called the maternity unit to ask for my booking in appointment, it's starting to feel a little bit real now!

Oh Mrs you're totally doing the right thing by telling your family. Once you have your mum and others chiming in with support for you and DH it'll be a lot less scary. I bet it will be lovely for your babies growing up as one of three.

Milly that's really good that you've got your scan tomorrow - fingers crossed for you that everything's going ok in there and you can relax a bit afterwards.

Fly I read a thing last night that said that cramping is neither a sign nor a cause of miscarriage in itself, which I thought is quite reassuring - www.parents.com/pregnancy/my-body/aches-pains/cramping-during-pregnancy/.

Cramps are the only symptom I have so far. Once or twice it has felt a bit stabby but mainly just a mild ache on and off. I have had a few bouts of grumpiness but I think that may be more related to giving up my nicotine lozenges!

Hi viper and cola - sounds like we all got our BFP on the same day - has it sunk in for you guys yet? Viper I'm the same, lots of talk about responsibilities in future projects and I'm smiling away and thinking 'eek I'm not gonna be here to do what I just agreed to do!'.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 18/12/2015 16:52

Oh cola that sounds horrible!! Hope you're ok now and not too shaken, get your feet up this eve and get your OH to look after you.

WordBird · 18/12/2015 16:54

Hi All, this is my first post on mumsnet and feeling a bit like an alien! No idea what any of these abbreviations stand for. Is there a glossary anywhere?? Just found out I'm pregnant for first time and due mid-August. Feeling quite shocked as only had unprotected sex with husband once but hey, it only takes one time! Feeling quite scared at the mo, got a small, one-man-band business that is just starting to take off. Anybody in a similar boat?

OwlinaTree · 18/12/2015 17:18

Christine giving up or changing jobs now will probably effect your maternity pay so I'd stick it out for now.

OwlinaTree · 18/12/2015 17:21

Can't believe the triplet news, what a shocker! Congratulations Mrs. Me and dh don't agree on the number of children to have, I want 3, he wants 2, so twins would be a good way of me getting my own way accidentally!

You will be fine, you will manage and child care options change when you have more children, it will probably be cheaper to have a nanny or something? Good luck to you both.

squigglepants · 18/12/2015 18:06

Hello ladies.
I had a bfp on Monday and another today. Due date looking like August 22nd. Massive shock for me.
I have and 8 year old girl and 6 year old boy from my ex husband and had given up the idea of having any more.
The father of this unplanned happy surprise has chosen not to be involved.
Look forward to getting to know you

Christinedonna · 18/12/2015 18:08

Congratulations squigglepants! What a lover little addition to your family. I hope you're dealing with everything okay and have someone to talk to about everything with the dad not being involved. (Apart from us that are hear to listen)

Christinedonna · 18/12/2015 18:08

*here

Flybynight1 · 18/12/2015 18:27

Welcome to word and squggle!

MrsS glad it's not just me!! I can't believe how heavy they are, I forget until it comes to bedtime and I take my bra off... Owwww!!!

crunchy thank you for that link!! That is some really reassuring info!

MrsSantaClause · 18/12/2015 18:43

I know fly, I can't believe how huge they are! Ds keeps digging his elbows in them-sooo painful!

Welcome to the newbies! Squggle do you think he just needs a bit of time to come round to the idea, or was it a for definite? Have you got support nearby?

Jw35 · 18/12/2015 18:48

Welcome newbies! Congrats!

Had my doctor appointment today and my due date is the 5th August now (until scan at least)! My booking appointment is on the 30th at 9 weeks, so in a couple of weeks I should know the date of my scan! Woo! Smile

Everything is making me sick except bread. I can't eat anything sweet or cheese. I had lamb stew for dinner and felt really sick too. Nightmare! I'm thinking about marmite on toast and peanuts for a while! I think that might work!

squigglepants · 18/12/2015 19:06

Can any of you tell me what information I need from the father, medical history etc?
I can't remember what was asked last time and I will need to find out in advance from him.
Thanks ladies for the welcome.

SimileMilly · 18/12/2015 19:24

Okay so bleeding got worse through the day and I'm just back from EPU. They had a look and say everything looks okay so 50/50 at the moment. I'm waiting to get bloods back and depending on hormone level will have a private scan tomorrow. Failing that back on Sunday for more bloods and then EPU scan on Tuesday.

I've sort of prepared myself for the worst on the basis that anything else is a bonus. I'm okay.
