Now have overwheming desire to pack hospital bag!!

Harry2007 · 22/12/2006 12:35

I think you should go and pack it now!

wilkie50 · 22/12/2006 12:43

Annieapple - I have heard that babies often come at night because of some primative thing that you are more likely to be with your partner at that time. Could be a load of b*llocks but does seem to make sense.

No more pains - not too bothered as really want LO to cook for another week or so at least. Knowing my luck I will go over.

xxx

laughalot · 22/12/2006 12:55

Hi ladies 37+1 10 sheets for me !!!!!!
Yep 4/5 means it is 4/5 engaged in your pelvis ready to pop out .
I saw midwife yesterday everything was ok baby seems to be fine so im just glad that christmas is nearly here as I seriously dont want a christmas day baby. I woke up the other night with pains and all I could think about was doing my shopping at morrisons. I am getting sick of babies bottom sticking up and poking me. If I dont get chance to post again merry christmas everyone and lets at least have one christmas day baby hopefully not me though

OonaghBhuna · 22/12/2006 13:02

Hi I measure 10 sheets of Andrex Aloe vera toilet roll!!! Have had loads odf BH and tightening and pulsating boobies!!!Not long to go 5 days OMG

theUrbanDryadWithSparklyWings · 22/12/2006 13:32

ooh andrex aloe vera eh? get you, so posh!! bet you shop at boden too dontcha??

am feeling decidedly non-festive...have just been on a local radio consumer program whingeing about the fact that the toy (yes, toy) i ordered for DH off an internet trading site hasn't shown up. blah.

Galmum · 22/12/2006 15:38

Oonaghbuna - Andrex Aloe Vera!! You're one classy bird!

Resisted urge to pack hospital bag and went to Sainsbury's instead - not too horrible, but lots of older blokes getting frustrated - do they think they are actually helping their wives by moaning all the way round!

Off for a lie down before pregnancy yoga!

elliepmummy · 22/12/2006 16:22

Everytime I see toilet roll I have a little smirk to myself now!

id anyone see the thread in the christmas section about the next sale ordered dd some stuff for next years age wardrobe got 7 tops, 2 jumpers, 5 pairs of trousers and a coat for £49 inc delivery did have £120 wrth of stuff in the basket but dh was moaning that she didnt need 23 long sleeved tops, 3 coats and numerous trousers etc (I was going to order loads and then take it back but realised that I'll have 2 children by then and probably will not want to trapse into next for a refund) So showed my mum what I have bought and then she is going to go into next on the 27th and get the other bits and also pick up some 9-12 month stuff for this baby she loves all that getting up early business and every year they buy dd stuff as part of her xmas present which is fab (although don't think she'll need that much as she'll be at pre school 3 mornings a week by next winter and they have a little t-shirt/jumper uniform thing so buba will end up with more)

Only 14 days to go at the longest although think the consultant may bring my section forward when I see him next week, I dont care anymore just looking forward to getting rid of bump, backache, heartburn etc etc

Harry2007 · 22/12/2006 16:38

I do exactly the same with Next Ellie - order loads and then take it back.

I've just had a bargain with Boots.com actually. Was looking for some nursing bras and went onto a few websites, mothercare, blooming marvellous etc, but as the sales hadn't started yet, I thought I'd wait till Boxing Day. On the off chance, I went onto Boots.com and I've bought 8, yes 8 nursing bras for £1.50 each in the sale! They must have made a mistake with the pricing as there are similar ones there on sale for £22.00, but I'm not complaining!

Dragonhart · 22/12/2006 17:16

I saw that too Harry but I couldnt find my size .

Got my new buggy today LOVE IT! Soooo expencive though and would never have bought it if my nan had not been paying [guilty emocicon] Got to get the matching carrycot too.

Half packed my hospital bag today. Do you think it is terrible to have unironed night shirts and clothes to wear in hospital? Cannot be bothered to iron but dont want to look like a scutter!

elliepmummy · 22/12/2006 18:08

Couldn't find my size either, but ordered some for my friend who is expecting thanks for thr tip Harry.

Personally don't tink it matters is hospital stuff ironed, I had irone all mine but where its been in teh bag its looking squashed!

I am sooooo hungary but can't decide what to eat and dh won't be home till late as busy week for him at work so may have to go and eat the party size bag of cheese balls!!!!

OonaghBhuna · 22/12/2006 20:42

Loubie37 · 22/12/2006 22:07

I'm 10 sheets of Andrex (36 wks tomorrow)

Loubie xx

Lizzz · 23/12/2006 10:30

Hi, something odd is happening with my belly button. It stretched out lots, but wasnt fully popped at all. Then, last night I noticed it was fairly deep again. But this morning, its stretched again. All very odd.

My fridge is full of lovely xmas food as my DF (darling fiancee!!!) went to Tescos for me as I can no longer walk more than 100m without wanting to sit down. But, the depressing thing is I know I wont be able to eat any xmas food due to f'ing heartburn. So depressing.

HINT: A mate of mine popped last week, and had a little boy, she recommends Huggies over Pampers for boys, something to do with them peeing up their backs. I have stocked up totally on pampers. Bum. (all scans show we are having a boy) I've decided if he comes on xmas day I'm going to call him Jesus. Whatdoyathink?!

Lizzzombie · 23/12/2006 10:33

BTW Have changed nick name to something more apt!

2HappyTurtleDoves · 23/12/2006 15:19

I don't remember ds peeing up his back much and we use pampers. His poo didn't half escape though, so maybe there's something to be said for trying different brands. I like the huggies wipes anyway. I think a friend said that Tesco own brand nappies were good, can't remember. Actually looking forward to newborn nappies - just becuase bf poo smells sooooooo much less than weaned poo, and with ds's diarrhoea this week, bleurgh!

Anyway, only popped on to say HAPPY CHRISTMAS - will probably spend the majority of tomorrow cooking, so may not get time to come on and say it. Hope everyone has a good day and that the heartburn mysteriously vanishes just in time, that in-laws behave, that there are no BHs, and that dp/h's tell us to sit down and put our feet up given our condition! Ha! That'll be the day!!

elliepmummy · 23/12/2006 15:28

We haven't got that much Christmas food in as dh working tomorrow morning and then off to see Father Christmas and to friends for tea tomorrow afternoon, xmas day at my mum and dads and boxing day at IL's so no feeding my clan till weds. Been to sainsburys and got some bacon etc for xmas day brekkie (subject to indigestion and heartburn!)

DD now at IL's till tomorrow lunch time having a ball as her cousins are all there and IL's are having them all to sleep tonight as they won't see any grandchildren till boxing day this year. They are having a party for dinner tonight with ballons and crackers and since they were all christened at IL's local church they are walking down to church tomorrow morning to look at the nativity scene and see the 'reindeers' (church overlooks a deer farm all the children think thats where santas reindeers are) so she'll be having loads of fun whilst I chl and relax for a night [fgrin}
