New thread! Have to admit that I thought up this title at the weekend and have been itching to post it - how sad is that!!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

will do WO. She knows she can't have her own kids, had early menopause at 13yrs old. But the docs have said she can't try to have a doner egg until she's lost the weight. they don't even know if she'll be able to carry a baby. She's been trying forever to lose it, but I don't think the realization has kicked in yet to give her the motivation. Am wondering if seeing me preg might motivate her a bit. Is quite a hard situation, was nervous about telling her I was up the duff because of her being upset. She's taken it really well though (so far) and been really excited for us.

liatHoHoHo · 14/12/2006 08:19

Morning all! Gosh, this weather is just pish! It feels like a monsoon here at the moment & have been going a bit stir crazy stuck in the house. Dd has been whingy & viral all week and have a doctors appointment later has she's had conjunctivitis with it & nursery won't let her in unless she's on antibiotic drops . Just hope she's well enough to go tomorrow when I'm at work.

Dooby - hope you're feeling better, what a horrible fright for you.

WO, that's an incredible achievement - bloody well done .

maveta · 14/12/2006 09:33

Morning! Sorry for posting and running the other day but have hit the normal wall of enormous pile up of work that has built up since I have been gone which leaves little MN time, sadly. Hopefully will catch up with you all properly over the weekend.

Can anyone help with this quick q. though? I just took my first iron supplement this morning, about 15mls of strange tasting liquid. I have felt really really odd all morning now, like light-headed. On the train to work I felt like I was going to pass out and although I feel slightly better I still don't feel right.

Anything to do with the iron or am I just coming down with something coincidentally?

maveta · 14/12/2006 09:44

Okay, had a quick catch up. Dooby, hope you are feeling a bit better now, it must have been quite a fright, especially on your own. But reassuring that they were so efficient in dealing with it and checking you out?
Tons of admiration to all of you out there currently dealing with other kiddies, sick, nagging or otherwise as I don't know how I would have the energy!! It's quite lovely that first time round we are allowed to be fully self indulgent and pampered as I guess it's probably almost the last time it will ever happen!
Loved the shopping basket story, not done anything quite as dippy but keep forgetting things left right and centre even after people have reminded me several times. Feel quite vague at times!
Anyway, I'm feeling a bit dizzy and think I might go lie down on the sofa.. thank god I'm in the office alone these days!!
Good luck to everyone for their upcoming scans, I wasn't really nervous about mine but then haven't found either of them that emotional either. It was so lovely to see the baby and all that but half the time I wasn't sure what we were looking at, had a grumpy, tired, probably overworked sonographer, and he was fairly pounding away at my tummy to try and make the baby move which was actually quite painful!
Bleurgh..going now..

charlii13 · 14/12/2006 09:57

MOrning ladies - haven't been on here in ages(like 6 weeks!)............. and blimey i have totally lost what the topic of the moment is! plus....everyones changed their names due to xmas, and therefore i can't recognise any peeps from when i last came on here
so how's every1 keeping?

love char 'n' bump!
22+1 xxxx

SparklySnowflakeKid · 14/12/2006 09:58

WO - will get back to you re weight loss in about 6 months !!

Dooby - you poor thing - have been in that situation before myself so know how frightening it can be - big hugs xoxoxoxox

Some days I also look like someone has shoved a basketball up my front - other days seems more all around - think it depends how he is lying really and how much have eaten.

Night out was lovely although spd didn't like sitting on hard chair for two hours! Had chicken & ginger filo parcels to start with a chilli dip - then smoked mackeral fishcakes with lemon & dill creme fraiche sauce with dauph potatoes and veg, then mango creme brulee - all very yummy but was completely stuffed [frgin] - not even a wafer mint to finish me off LOL! They also had some alcohol free lager which wasn't too bad actually - can't recall name but said 'drive' on bottle which made me chuckle. Didn't get to bed til midnight and am completely knackered - my spd really hurts and have to go to work in 1/2 hour. Will just have to take it easy if going to get there tomorrow as well.

My ds2 has a chesty cough at the moment and is struggling a bit - have got him some cough mixture which he seems happy to take and he is eating chocolate so can't be that bad!!

Oh and when I got home last night - dh and my mum were still up - dh was completely pissed and slurring - I slept in the spare room - and am sure he got up to be sick in the night LOL! Clearing up this morning and asssessing the wine in the fridge I would say he had a bottle and a half to himself!

Bramshott - Corsham not far at all from me - about 15 minutes. I like Corsham - the high street has some nice shops - and library and my health centre is there too.

Good luck with scans and appointments. Still haven't called the midwife about squelchy belly button!

Katy44 - with name changes haven't managed to find out if you are having movement yet?? Hope all is okay xoxoxoxox

I DON'T WANT TO GO TO WORK!

Have a nice day everyone xxoxxoxoxoxooxxx

SparklySnowflakeKid · 14/12/2006 10:03

Maveta - probably just the supplement - would stay lying down until you feel better just in case you pass out! Always better to be on safe side.

Welcome back charlii and bump! You need to go and get yourself a christmassy name - in your registration bit at top of page. Glad to hear you are well. Hot topics are movement, bump size, eating excessively and sick children! Oh and Weeonions amazing weight loss and 1becomes3 getting her size 10 jeans on

christmasbabyhugs · 14/12/2006 10:14

ok here's my new name - formally charlii13 now christmas babyhugs! xxxxxxx

we1becomes3kings · 14/12/2006 11:04

dooby-how scary for you, make sure you get lots of rest. ((((hugs)))

SSfk- glad you had a great night out, i would love a night out so of all you with social lives.

WO- WOW size 30 to a 8, that's amazing good on you girl. do you have any old knickers left over from your size 30 days, they are fantastic for pg. A friend of mine brought me some size 44 knickers ages ago for a joke, and I found them when I was pg with DD so I wore them all the time and still do. great was to keep your bump warm!
(they come up to my boobs)

maveta- I have been on iron tablets since about 15 weeks apart from black metalic smelling poo (TMI i know) i haven't had any side effects. mind you before I was given them I was feeling like I was on a boat all the time.
Give it a day if you don't feel any better get checked out.

SS2 seems to be ok he even asked me a question about the bump, although he did seem a bit funny when DH touched it as it was kicking.
Lets hope he is on the "mental mend" now.

CaptainDippyClausWithABump · 14/12/2006 11:18

Apologies for not reading down / commenting etc; but only have limited time as surrounded by boxes etc etc - All hands on deck .......

Is madness here, just trying to crack on and get everything done, which is pretty difficult when PIL are not helping and you've got a stinking, stinking cold. Yuk. Anyway, mustn't complain - we'll soon have a home of our own ......

Yey!

How's everyone else today??

CaptainDippyClausWithABump · 14/12/2006 11:19

Awwww@ ChristmasBabyHugs!!

CaptainDippyClausWithABump · 14/12/2006 11:21

Oh, and congrats to SOL and maveta on Pink Beans - and SOL - STAY HERE!!!!!!

Sexonreindeerlegs · 14/12/2006 11:28

Morning all. Have to be quick as a million things to do as usual.
Dooby, what a scary time for you. I really hope you are ok hun.
Hope everyone else and all dh's, dd's and ds's are recovering from the various lurgies.
Not much to report here, so will get on with the housework, wrapping the presents and preparing lunch for 12 for this Saturday - thanks dh for organising that!! He has offered to help, but considering he had to leave at 4.30 this a.m and won't be back until 11.00 p.m not really sure what help he can offer me!!!!
xx

hotlipsmummy · 14/12/2006 12:48

Afternoon ladies. Have had a very hectic couple of days at work and DS still not right but not really poorly iykwim. Not eating much but drinking a ton of milk and sleeping for England - when awake tho he's totally foul, sigh. Glad to hear RH's DS is on the mend tho and hopefully all others are getting better too!

at 1b3 getting into size 10 jeans!! Amazing! I've put on about 4 stone over the last few years, nearly 3 of which since getting married and having DS. Amazingly I didn't put much weight on whilst pg but then all the cakes and biscuits on bf justifications caught up with me!! Am going to be stricter with myself this time round - HATE being a 16, too fat for my height really. WO - will be asking you for tips!!

Great that the bean tally is pretty even - wonder where we will end up once they have all arrived. Will be so soon after Xmas - Easter will be upon us in no time and all the sprogs will start popping out! So exciting . Anyone at the 3rd trimester yet???

maveta · 14/12/2006 12:50

Good luck with the packing Dippy!
SOL - lunch for 12??? I couldn't ever consider it!
I feel better now, think I will get up an hour earlier tomorrow and have my breakfast and everything in bed and just get up more slowly. Checked a couple of things on the net and they seem to say to give your body a few days to adjust. Felt HORRIBLE though, I am so so SO glad I have had a breezy time of it so far with no morning sickness (sorry to those of you that weren't so lucky!!) as I am obviously a complete wimp.
P.S. There is a rumour going around that my bean is pink but he is blue....although he may well turn out to be 'pink' later in life... ..don't worry, no harm done, he has not been listening x

HollyandMistletoeforever · 14/12/2006 15:40

Hi all and I'm finally well enough to be on here (although actually I should be in the middle of frantic housecleaning as MIL arrives tomorrow!).

MAVETA - I don't think I could get through my pgcy without my liquid iron supplements. I haven't remembered to take them for a few days because of being ill and boy do I feel the difference. I get completely breathless and unable to do the smallest thing without feeling absolutely exhausted! So I would keep taking them if you've been recommended them and keep an eye on the dizziness - it may well be something else that is causing that. BTW lol at blue/pink bean. My DS1 when through a Barbie phase when I thought maybe (and how nice it would be for me as his mum if he was !) but something about his general state of hygiene and attitude these days tells me he is all boy.

HOTLIPS - I'm also a 16 which is too much for me so will definitely consulting the fabulous WO on her amazing weight loss when the time comes !

CD - Good luck on the house move - I feel for you big time, but won't it be fantastic when you're there!

SORL - stay here. I bet you still won't be the last one to "pop" on this thread - and we'll all be keeping an eye out in any case!

CHRISTMASBABYHUGS - love it!

No idea where I'm putting bean. She'll be in with us for a good while as we're in a 3-bedroomed house but DS1 needs his own room (at 14) and DS2's room is not the biggest and is STILL not decorated! Looks like he will be in with us over Christmas.

There was something else, but I forget and I've GOT to go and do some work!!!

Oh yeah, finally saw Casino Royale last night and Daniel Craig is just jaw droppingly sexy. Best Bond by far. Ever.

christmasbabyhugs · 14/12/2006 16:19

hello again all! I did forget to mention how things were with my little dude! Had the scan at 20w1day and everythings fine! also wanted to know the sex but the little bleeper was crossing his/her legs!!!!!
But the obgyn did say "he couldn't see any OBVIOUS boy bits and would therefore lean towards a girl" so its possibly pink, but also still a chance its a little blue one! Am 22w+1 now, anyone else due on the 18th ( i think i remember weeonion is?)

babyhugs to all! x

Only popping in quickly to say "hi", "I'm still here .... just!" Thank you for your well wishes - much apprecaited!!

Sorry helping to spread the rumour abouty our "Pink" boy maveta!

AndAKaty44InAPearTree · 14/12/2006 20:25

Hi everyone,
Wow, what a lot of posts.
Dooby, hope you're relaxing and putting your feet up and looking after yourself - that must have been an awful shock.
SparklySnowflakeKid- thanks for asking, I have been getting what I think are kicks - could just be wind tho! I'm sure some of them are proper little kicks, in different parts of my stomcah and not regular, DH can feel them too if he has his hand in the right place, either that or we're both very excited when he feels my stomach rumble
CaptainDippy, good luck with the move, is it the 22nd?
SORL, surely you have to stay - when next April comes around half of us won't be in the right month I would imagine - mine's bound to be late!
Can I make a new thread because this one is a little overwhelming?

AndAKaty44InAPearTree · 14/12/2006 20:26

Oh and 1b3, after finding out the size 6/size 10 facts, I have decided you can no longer name your boy Tristan. I won't let you. So there. That'll teach you

AndAKaty44InAPearTree · 14/12/2006 20:28

new thread anyone?
