New thread! Have to admit that I thought up this title at the weekend and have been itching to post it - how sad is that!!

Hello! Am at work now - so time to catch up.....

PMSL @ your shopping basket from M&S anecdote MIAM - Sort of thing I would do, definitely .....

[[[[[[[[[hugs]]]]]]]]]]]]]]] to you dooby - hope you feel mre soon honey.

Hope scan goes well SOL - only 20 mins to go!

Eca - We will try our very best to resist - have managed it for two pregnanices now, so should be ok!!

While I'm here, I'll check the nappy bag situation for you nutty!

Brandybuttershott · 12/12/2006 14:12

Have just eaten yummy lunch of cheese on toast topped with grainy mustard and fried mushrooms!

I'm going to stick my fingers in my ears and sing la-la-la-la at all this talk of nurseries/babies rooms. Goodness only knows where we're going to put this one, and as it'll be in our room for months anyway, I'm going to wait and see until after it gets here. We moved last year to a 3-bed house so you'd think it would be simple, but our third bedroom is (a) enormous and I'm blowed if a baby is getting it!, (b) freezing cold, as it's in a first floor extension over a carport, (c) my office as I work from home. We are building an extension underneath when we can afford it, which should sort out b & c, so I think we'll wait until it gets here and see what we want to do then, depending on whether we can afford the extension next year or not.

Thanks to all who agreed re my comfy and warm yet sparkly outfit for Thurs. I am convinced now. Just have to sort out my trousers where I caught my heel in the hem and tore half of it down. Will also iron them which I never do, and should make them look smarter. Am going to try and remember to get someone to take a picture of me and DH, as I have NO pictures of me when pregnant with DD, and as this is the last time I'm doing this, feel I should probably have a record of it!

God - why am I on here and not working, when DD breaks up tomorrow???????

Glad you sorted out clothes crisis! GET ON WITH YOUR WORK!!!

Oh, me too!!!!?

muminaminimincepie · 12/12/2006 16:21

Hope scan went well SOL!
Dooby - definatley get MW to check you over if your not feeling 100%. Mine actually told me off the other day for not calling her sooner when I was having a wobbly moment....I really do get the impression that midwives never seem to mind (or am I just really lucky?).

LMAO at Burnt dinner - have had to resort to setting the alarm on the cooker for everything as have had one to many burnt offerings myself recently...If PG womens brains do expand mine must be like the grand canyon......

Sexonreindeerlegs · 12/12/2006 16:24

I'm back!

All was fine with bean, thank God, although being a bit low in my pelvis, I had to go and have some choccy and a walk round in the hope it would move out so they could see the head properly!

And, all fine, and it is a ...

PINK bean!

I am over the moon. We already have a dd, so people assume we want a boy, but I am vvvvvv happy!

Must go as need to do Tesco shop.
xxxxx

we1becomes3kings · 12/12/2006 16:50

Congratulations sol another pink to add to the pile think that means for now the pinks are back in front by 1.

AngeGabriel · 12/12/2006 17:00

Congratulations SOL wonderful news about a pink bean

Hello everyone else will catch up later

xx

muminaminimincepie · 12/12/2006 17:26

Ahh SOL thats wonderful news!!!

My bean is the opposite to you and is curled right up high under my ribs...wierd isn't it!!!
I keep wishing now I'd found out what we are having as 4 months now seems ages to wait to find out! lol

People do make assumptions - everyone always says "oh you'll be wanting a girl then!" (we have a boy already) don't know why it annoys me so much that they just assume these things....again must be the hormones.

Also since I last was on here I remember everyone being narked at having their bump stroked and I said it didn't bother me.....CORRECTION!
It bothers me ALOT - a girl I work with just keeps doing it and I want to hit her - it goes right through me...I'm seriously going to have to say to her....just worried that I just blurt out "Get away" or something in a hormonal moment of madness!!

The Drs at work have been quite sweet actually and won't let me carry the box f surgery notes back to reception after surgery has finished....it's only small with about 15 packets of notes in...lol Nice they are being considerate though!

God had a really yuck sort of day today - had great plans and didn't end up doing any of them and feel like DS has watched telly all day apart from a quick jaunt to Tesco earlier....

Never mind....Hot Pot for tea although still stuffed after pasta and garlic ciabatta for lunch...and stollen and coffee after...and some galaxy.......

JinglebellaMoi · 12/12/2006 17:32

Yippee SOL!!!! A pink bean - so glad for you and lovely to read how happy you are .

Only have minute so won't comment on all the other news except to say thanks to MIAM for bringing a smile to all our faces with the M & S shopping basket story!

Take care of yourself and your twins 1becomes3...you are sweet and thoughtful to be thinking of SS - hope it all goes really well with having him around and that it doesn't create too much extra stress and work for you. Let us know how you are getting along.

EmmymummyChristmasPudTummy · 12/12/2006 17:45

SOL - congrats on your pink bean! I would also be thrilled to be having another pink one, but know what you mean when everyone assumes you want one of the opposite sex. Dd is desperate for a sister, so will need to get her physched (sp?) up if we find out that it's a boy on Friday.

MIAM, also had a snigger about the shopping basket incident - there but for the grace of God go all of us. I am certain that I will walk out of the supermarket with a whole trolley full of shopping one day. When I was 9months preg with dd I reversed into this lady's brand new Merc (wasn't really looking properly as couldn't turn around fully ) and she was quite rightly furious and about to completely lay into me, until I got out of the car and she saw how enormous I was.

Dd's Nativity play was fab, I had tears running down my face for most of it. Dd performed brilliantly and knew all the words to the songs which isn't bad for a 4 year old. In fact all the kids (age range 4 - 7) were amazing, so confident, bright and obviously enjoying every minute. A hall full of proud mummies & daddies .

Sexonreindeerlegs · 12/12/2006 18:08

Thank you lovelies. The only thing that I am sad about is that they reckon my edd is 4th May. So, do I head to the May thread?

JinglebellaMoi · 12/12/2006 18:14

No, SOL - stay here! Or, maybe try to keep up with both?

You never know, your little girl might still be an April baby if she decides she's in a hurry to see the world.

AngeGabriel · 12/12/2006 18:25

No way SORL - you can't leave us. You've got to know us all now.

I thought that dating pregnancy from a scan was less accurate the further into a pg you progress. Have you had another scan before?

You could try and keep up with April and May, but I think you should stay with us

AngeGabriel · 12/12/2006 18:28

Good to 'see' you back MIAM I have to admit to a little giggle about your shopping basket episode.

Sorry can't remember anything else I've read.

Except that the blues and pinks were even at some point.
Hope everyone ok

DecaTheHalls · 12/12/2006 19:37

Congrats SOL, glad the scan went well, and even an opportunity for more choccy! Couldn't get much better eh?

maveta · 12/12/2006 20:29

Hello Girls! As I predicted you have been a busy lot while I have been away and am only just going to start reading through and catching up now. Thought I should write and say hi seeing as I may be reading for the rest of the week!
Holiday was lovely but all family and friend oriented and therefore tiring in its own way. Lovely to be home. Was especially hard work the last couple of days surrounded by people and babies and toddlers. I just felt exhausted and dh and I ended most nights repeating ´it´s different when they´re yours, it´s different when they´re yours´!!
Had our scan today and it´s a.....BOY! I knew it would be, I would have fallen off the bed in shock if they had said it was a girl. Dh so wanted a little girl but seemed as thrilled as me all the same so it just shows it just doesn´t matter in the end. All is well and we can finally call him..Noah.
Back asap after catching up...
By the way Hello to all the ´new´ posters who may actually not be so new anymore..but hello anyway..

AngeGabriel · 12/12/2006 20:35

Maveta - congrats on the blue bean. I think Noah is a lovely name

Glad you had a good time away even if it was a bit stressful. It is absolutly true that it is different when they're yours because you adapt with them rather than being dropped in at the deep end

DecaTheHalls · 12/12/2006 20:39

hello maveta!!! welcome back and big congrats on the scan and blue bean . Great news! Glad your hol was nice time. We always find hols when we visit family draining. I remember last time comparing it to giving blood !

nuttygirl · 12/12/2006 22:07

Hello, just wanted to pop in and see how the scans went!

Congrats SOL, glad to hear everything was ok with the bean and that you're expecting a pink one! You really must stay on this thread (or try and keep up with both....but I know I have enough difficulty keeping up with this one )

Congrats on your scan too Maveta and on the blue flavour!!! Does that make blues and pinks equal again????

MIAM - Had such a giggle about you M&S basket...it really brightened my day! Hope you enjoyed the hot pot...had to mention it cos we had the same here this evening

Sexonreindeerlegs · 12/12/2006 22:12

Welcome back Maveta. Glad your holiday went well, albeit tiring. You cannot beat home can you? We were away for a few days over in Lanzarote and back last night. It was the best nights sleep I had had in days!!
Many congrats on your blue bean. I think that makes 11 of each now.
I was sure I was having a blue one this time, so was shocked to hear not!
I have decided to stay with you lovely ladies here - it is hard enough keeping up with one thread, let alone two!
Hope you are all feeling ok, and catch up tomorrow as am off to bed!

Night night xxxx

muminaminimincepie · 13/12/2006 08:51

Morning!!!!

Had the best nights sleep in ages last night...I got one of those full body length pillows and hadit between my legs and I snuggled into it as if it was a person (but one that doesn't snore and fart and wriggle!!!lol) and I was unconcious till my bladder was being bounced upon at 3am but managed to get straight back to seep again after the loo stop!

SOL - you MUST stay with us!!!!

Emmymummy - aww how lovley - I can't wait for nativity plays...I would be just like you - pregnant and emotional or not.
Maveta - congratulations on your Blue bean....fab news - how many peeps haven't or are not finding out then??? We must deffo be in the minority...

Nutty - Hope your Hot Pot was good - mine was fab...although DH complained it was too Hot.....

Have a good day everyone

MIAMx

MerryBugmum · 13/12/2006 09:50

Morning all,
Just popping in for a sec.

SOL - of course you must stay here; I really can't see why you would feel you have to move!

Congrats all scanned ladies, and go our equal bean tally! Assuming everyone has posted their results (those who know them), of course...

I am VERY fed-up with people asking, on hearing I'm expecting a second blue one, whether I'll be 'Trying again' - what, so I can finally get it right???? I know boys aren't popular at the moment, but that takes the biscuit. I know my horrid SPD is making me grumpy, but I think I'd be pretty ticked off about this anyway. Although of course those of you with more than one pink are getting similar reactions, but I would guess not as strong, unless from particular communities? I am very happy to be having another blue one and so is my bank account

Hope everyone has a good day, and ladies...put DOWN the shopping baskets

muminaminimincepie · 13/12/2006 10:11

Bugmum!

I've just been doing the "Big Tesco Xmas Shop" onine as can't bear the thought of it and what stupidities I may end up doing!! Got to the end of it - all very smug with myself and of course no sodding slots left for delivery for about the next 3 weeks - AAAAAAAAAARRRRGH

I'd gladly go and just pick it up if they would still do it for me.....

Last Friday I did the shopping and swore it was the last time I was lugging fully trolley round the supermarket - I was exhausted by the end of it os at least my list is there for when I do finally get to order it!

Yo ho bloody ho

SparklySnowflakeKid · 13/12/2006 10:15

Congrats on the pink bean sexonreindeerlegs and you MUST stay

Congrats on the blue bean maveta - Noah is cute

MIAM - my mum has just bought me one of those pillows - haven't used it much yet as bump is not weighing down yet - iykwim!

Bugmum - I get the boy thing - esp as having third! People seem to think I'm disappointed but when she said it was a boy was really pleased and dh now thinks he only does boy sperm! LOL I am not planning on having a fourth just in case I get a girl

Emmymummy - ds1 has his nativity play this afternoon - all very excited - he is a wise man with gold - don't think he has to say anything on his own as it is narrated and he would probably bolt out the door! My mum is coming too which sounds nice but despite thinking she is well educated and has etiquette - she farts and burps loudly in public and has the social grace of a pig in burberry. Sorry mum - you've just stayed too long (announced this morning she was staying til tomorrow - was hoping wuld go this afternoon!) God thats mean but I had to say it

Out tonight on works do - am designated driver rather unsuprisingly Don't mind really!

Have a nice day everyone - off to have nice bath - ds2 at playgroup and mum gone out til lunchtime.

SparklySnowflakeKid · 13/12/2006 10:16

I'm with you on the trolley shopping - planning to send dh with list
