New thread! Have to admit that I thought up this title at the weekend and have been itching to post it - how sad is that!!

Morning morning morning.

Funny I am in quite a good mood today despite DH having just told me that it is not just ss2 coming to stay but the Nephew aswell, now i am sure DH said that the N was having the week off. Oh well it's only for 2 nights.
And also just checked our personal account online and it turns out that DH has spent £1181 in a week on materials for his work building site! what the hell is that all about shouldn't he be making them pay for it?
Again Oh well I got to many happy hormones floating around today to be pissed at that tool!

Congrats on the pink maveta

On the shopping I had to squeeze into my size 10 jeans last night as I had no clean trousers to do the tesco shop in, made it dam uncomertable to push the trolly round and the abaies did not appericiate being packed into such a small space!
I think I will do my tesco shopping for next week online today and hope I can get a slot before 2007!

MerryBugmum · 13/12/2006 11:50

1B3 - [clenched teeth emoticon] you. got. into. your. size. ten. jeans. with. two. beans. Okay, you weren't comfy but since when did that count??? I was a small ten before DS, a 10-12 before getting knocked up this time, and am now in size 12 maternity, and couldn't possibly be in anything smaller or non-pregnancy. In fact, am crossing my fingers these togs will last the duration, although not holding my breath I am, however, putting it down to the SPD not allowing me to exercise, and not at all to the biscuits/chocolate/toast/butter...

MIAM - You had us soooooooo worried! Glad to see you are back on form - even if that form involves stealing shopping baskets

SparklySnowflakeKid · 13/12/2006 12:40

Size 10 jeans - I am normally a size 10/12 but no way could get into jeans now unless very very low rise and then my incredible inflatable arse would hang out the back

LOL at 'knocked up' - reminds me of Dirty Dancing LOL again

Off to nativity this afternoon [fmsile]

runnyhabbitdashingthruthesnow · 13/12/2006 12:54

Afernoon all

Merrybugmum - with you on the increase in dress sizes. The exact same thing has happened with me I have pair of size 10 Next maternity jeans which I had with ds, and saw me right the way through to the end. They are starting to feel tight on me now

So far, only 1 person has asked if we would prefer a girl this time round. But lots of people have asked why we haven't found out the flavour. I might be in the minority, but I like the suprise (even though it would make life so much easier if we knew )

Ds is very poorly with a chest infection. Had to take him to docs last night - very high temperature, coughing and has been off his food (which is so not like him) And he could not sleep for the coughing last night, so I didn't get any sleep either Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon.

congrats on all the scans

x

btw - Lol at Christmas food shopping. Dh is off from next Weds, so have told him he can go and push a trolley round Tesco (or might get my mum to pick up some bits and pieces, seeing as she works there )

DecaTheHalls · 13/12/2006 15:26

hello

well I've spent most of the morning on the phone to British Gas. They are AWFUL! They owe us £126 from an overpaid bill a year ago and have been a nightmare to get to pay up. Those call centres are just potluck as to who you get and whether they can help. I know it's not the poor person on the phones fault but it's sooooooo frustrating!!!

Anyway, nothing can stop me feeling happy about the fact that dh is taking me to London to the Christmas ballet tomorrow and has booked us in a lovely hotel for the night too! Looking forward to doing a bit of xmas shopping, not to mention looking at lots of baby things in the shops we hardly ever get to go to!! And looking round some art galleries. Oooo... What a treat! Just hope I don't end up puking anywhere embarassing!

Runny - sorry your ds is so poorly. Hope he's a bit better today. Poor little mite.

at you 1b3 fitting into size 10 jeans with twins!! Now that's just not on!

nuttygirl · 13/12/2006 15:42

Just popping in to say Hi.

Ooh Deca...your visit to London sounds lovely, wish DH would treat me like that (although maybe not London - a bit near the in-laws for my liking!) Hope you have a great time

RH - Hope your DS feels better soon

1b3 - @ getting into size 10 jeans...I'm usually a 10-12 but am now unable to get into anything other that 12 maternity...and my pj's from Primark are a 16-18

Pants...my note taking is crap...Someone got a big pillow, I got a snoozy pillow thingy and have found it so much easier to sleep with it. Thought the maternity ones looked a bit hard....the one i got was really squishy...made DH pay though cos he wouldn't let me have one a week ago so I've had a week with not much sleep. After keeping him up aswell for most of the week he finally gave in and let me have one - us women know how to get what we want don't we???

nuttygirl · 13/12/2006 15:43

Oh and grrrr to british gas on not giving you your money

we1becomes3kings · 13/12/2006 16:22

Ladies don't feel to of me before i had DD i was a size 6!
So when i was pg with her I went up 2 sizes and never went back
By the end of this pg I will be a 14 or more maybe a 18 cause there is 2?

Oh god must go run up and down the stairs a few hundred times ( after I finish my cup of tea with 3 choclate biccies )

DecaTheHalls · 13/12/2006 16:28

ok, now you're just rubbing it in 1b3! I've not been a size 6 since I was 8 yrs old!!

SparklySnowflakeKid · 13/12/2006 17:30

My sister is pretty slim aswell - told me the size 10 combats I lent her were too big - great sis - thanks for that! Two seperate people have said today that I look really small and neat - quite pleased as I thought I resembled a whale - but the second one did go on to ask when in feb I was due!! Also found out another friend is pg - due in July - this will be her 4th.

Off out tonight for works do - having clothing crisis - decided not to fret about it - chill out for a bit - watch some tv then at 6.15 just make instant decision and go for it! Just determined not to wear my black trousers as wear them to work every week!

My mum, dh and boys have gone out to football so I am home alone and it is nice and peaceful at last! Can get ready at my own pace.

Why don't british gas reduce your monthly bills until it has been paid back - ours kind of goes debit/credit depending on the month - but the amount we pay doesn't change - its ongoing and balances out over the year. In fact thats a complete lie as have just changed to npower - saving £25 a month! But it was used to happen.

Must go do nails - also can't decide whether to have flowy hair or straightened hair

SparklySnowflakeKid · 13/12/2006 17:44

On the shopping front - Gap has a really cute outfit in pale blue baby cord with matching tops etc with owls on - managed to restrain myself - too close to jan sales!

Sexonreindeerlegs · 13/12/2006 18:30

Hi ya ladies. Hope everyone is feeling well today. I have been totally hopeless at keeping the sex of the baby secret, although saying that, so has dh!
Feeling knackered tonight, and could quite happily lie down and go to sleep! Dd is driving me insane! She is not being naughty, just incessant chat and wanting things every 2 minutes!
I was told today how neat my bump was which was reassuring, as I feel enormous!
Anyway, better head as going to dress the tree. SSK enjoy your night out.
xx

Brandybuttershott · 13/12/2006 18:54

SSK - have a great night out! Sure you will look lovely whatever you wear. I've been in your neck of the woods today (ish) as I had to come over to Corsham for a meeting.

DD finished nursery today so it's Christmas activities for us from here on in - currently thinking how lovely it is, and planning to make biscuits tomorrow and go and cut holly etc for the house on Fri. By next week however, I will be screaming and heading for the soft-play-with-cafe at the sports centre!!

Everyone has tactfully said my bump is neat, except DH's 90 yr old grandmother who said "yes you are definitely bigger than you were with DD" - yes, I know that thank you!!

Whendoobygotstuckupthechimney · 13/12/2006 19:27

Hi Guys..Read a fewposts thanks for your lovely support.
Ended up going to gp yesterday as it just didn't feel right. They were just closing for lunch but my dr examined me and i had high bp and was tender over womb.Next thing i am in an ambulance and into hosp. They were sooooo fab. They aren't sure what it is.They have ruled out a urine infection and said it might just be stretching.I have had no bleeding and they did an internal scan to check the womb and cervix and all seems well and baby active. They sent me home today i have to take it easy and go back on 29th.I was sooo scared!Dp was travelling back from co.Sligo yesterday and managed to collect ds from school. They were great when i phoned from the docs but it just makes me realise how vulnerable we can be if partners work irregular hours and are away.
Anyway i am now going to catch up proper and hope we are all well

MerryBugmum · 13/12/2006 19:29

No one has said I am neat this time. In fact, I've had, 'You're enormous already!' and 'Are you sure it's not twins' etc etc. First time round everyone said how small and compact etc etc the bump was; this time, all of me is huge, huge, huge. I'd feel better if I could work out a little, but the SPD doesn't want me to Oh well, time for another nice little snacklette

MerryBugmum · 13/12/2006 19:31

dooby - just seen your post. Hugs! (((()))) Makes me feel very about whinging over porkiness. Hope you are able to rest enough now, and to feel better

Whendoobygotstuckupthechimney · 13/12/2006 19:33

Many congrats sol nd maveta
1b3...the ambulance man told me his wife had twins 9 years ago and they weighed 9lb14oz and 8lb 10oz![gulp]
Just thought you might like to know

weewishyouamerryonion · 13/12/2006 19:42

good evening folks and how are you all?? this thread is near impossible to keep up with!

runny - hope yr little one is feeliong better and the meds. have kicke in

deca - yr trip sounds fab.. u indulge yrself and pamper plenty.

isnt this rain awful. scotland has now had the wettest november in 30 yrs - great for trudging round in while pg

LOL at all the sizes! i used to be a size 30 til 5 yrs ago. lost 11 stone and was delighted to get down to a size 8. Those days are long since gone though now.... sz 10 /12 maternity and dont think i'll ever get down again.. ah well! no-one has commented on a neat bump - just how big my boobs have got! does anyone have stretch marks starting yet - a friend said she got them on her calves?

have my next antenatal appt 2morro. always feel v nervous and especially this time as my pink bean seemed to move around a lot more a couple of weeks agao and now there is very little movemetns. they certainly arent getting any stronger..

weewishyouamerryonion · 13/12/2006 19:49

oops dooby - xposted there. hope you are ok able to rest up. must have been scary ion yr own tho' {hugs}

AngeGabriel · 13/12/2006 19:55

Dooby - How scary for you. Glad all ok at the moment though. Sending big hugs your way.

Re: Neatness of bumps, lots of people have said that I have a neat bump except my mum who insists on telling anyone or everyone that I'm already bigger than I was when I had DSI'm not..... yet anyway

The size of twins comment reminded me of the Physio I saw last time her mother had twins and they weighed...12lbs each

Merrybugmum - hugs and sympathy regarding the SPD. I can't even stand for long periods or walk round the shops (even without a trolley) without paying for it in horrible pain later.

SSK - hope you have a good time tonight.

Hope everyone else ok. xx

AngeGabriel · 13/12/2006 20:01

Wewishyouamerryonion - I don't have any stretch marks yet. Didn't get any with DS, think I may get some this time as I'm hoping for a bigger baby

Regarding movements. I am the same. I think bean was a lot more active a few weeks ago and the movements now are not as strong as they were. Feel a little bit more reassured that someone else thinking the same.

Let us know how you get on tomorrow. xx

runnyhabbitdashingthruthesnow · 13/12/2006 20:52

Evening everyone

Dooby - take care of yourself (((hugs)))

WO - I've got antenatal appt tomorrow too. Hope it all goes well. Strech marks have started but seem to be in the same place as ds (iykwim) at the top of my thighs of all places. Have been using ds eczema cream (I know, naughty mummy ) on bump, boobs and anywhere else I can reach. Not the nicest smell, but leaves skin very soft.

Deca - have a wonderful time

Ds antibiotics seem to be working already. Temperature is right down, but still got the cough and isn't eating a lot. Still, he's drinking plenty of weak squash which is something to be grateful for.

Dh is away for 2 nights in Portsmouth but rang me earlier today to tell me he'd thrown up twice (sorry tmi) Bless him, he's decided not to come home because he doesn't want me or ds to get it. Just went to the hotel to try and sleep it off. He doesn't like being away at the best of times

Glad to hear everyone else is getting the big bump comments too I've been told that it looks like I've got a cannonball stuck up my top. Well, it certainly feels as heavy as one

have to go, ds has just woken

take care all

YvieEinaChristmasCracker · 13/12/2006 21:06

Dooby glad to hear you are ok, my cousin who is due in June has just rang me from hospital to say she's been admitted - she has the same symptoms as you. The baby is fine but they are worried about her stomach tenderness. Am praying for her
Congratulations on the pink and blue bean SOL and Maveta, have my scan on Monday and am crapping myself.
MIAM was ROFL re M&S basket, and totally feel the same way about people stroking my bump. I know people are only doing it because they are excited and happy so feel like a total B* for having these thoughts.
1B3 I don't even think one of my thighs could fit into a size 6 dress!!! Can you detect the jealousy! DP went to the US for thanksgiving so I ordered some clothes from Old Navy maternity range. I gave him all my sizes, what does DP do? Using his "womanly" instincts he decides that the sizes I have chossen are incorrect and instead gets me a bigger size.....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Now nothing will fit unless I wear 4 jumpers beneath it.

DecaTheHalls · 13/12/2006 22:29

dooby! Gosh! glad you and bump are ok. That sounds scary! Glad scan was all ok. Make sure you take it easy over xmas!!

WO - that's a pretty impressive weight loss! have got a friend who's in that position and desperately trying to lose weight so she can go on IVF. She's really struggling though. Will tell her about you to encourage her! Hope your app is ok tomorrow.

No stretch marks as yet here (not any new ones anyway!) Keep slapping on the body butter and bio oil though. dh says I'm like a greasy chip, seems to stay slimy all day!

Runny - poor dh. What a hero staying away so you don't get it. Hope it doesn't linger. At least ds is getting a touch better. (((hugs)))

Yvie - grrrrr at dh's dress size instincts!!

weewishyouamerryonion · 13/12/2006 22:33

deca - i partly done it with a view to being able to get pg. when i lost all the weight my periods became more regular even tho i was still left with poloycystic ovaries. was told prob have few probs getting pg but when we decided lets really go for it - it only took 2 weeks. wish her all the best frm me - it can be done and break it into small targets! fingers crossed for her!
