Hi ladies when are people gonna start buying things I've always waited till I'm very far gone defo after first scan . My mil rang today and she's bought us a cot and I'm worried I sounded ungrateful . I'm not it's lovely of her but I'm only 6 +3 week and still waiting to go back next week to see if there is a heartbeat as there wasn't one last week so think she just caught me off gard . This is her first grand baby so I think she's just excited . Do you think I should ring her and explain that I'm not being ungrateful x x

JoMalones · 22/10/2015 17:33

Hello,

Can I join? I'm due 24th June (but most likely another section so 17th June).

We have 2 each already so our 3rd own/5th in our family!

Going to book an early scan for 2 weeks time as I'm already massive and dug out my maternity clothes. Xx

iamdivergent · 22/10/2015 18:46

Hi Jo you must be 2 days behind me Smile

Lovelybeano · 22/10/2015 19:01

Hi Jo
I'm really not feeling it today, I've felt generally yuck all day and having to force myself to eat a bit of something here and there, mostly junk tbh which isn't great, I feel really guilty because body invader hasn't had any goodness today Sad I'm glad I started the big declutter before the tiredness & general ickyness kicked in - I've got a day off tomorrow so I'm hoping I have a bit more energy so I can catch up on the chores and get ready for legoland on Saturday xxx

justexpecting · 22/10/2015 19:02

Hi Jo and iamdivergent I am also due about then...my first time!

tigress23 · 22/10/2015 19:51

Ugh... Severe evening sickness and my MIL has made a lovely birthday-eve dinner for me Sad

tigress23 · 22/10/2015 20:04

Clarish, maybe explain to her that you are grateful and are sorry if it came across as otherwise but that it's a very uncertain time and you are cautious about being too excited. I'm sure she understands, after all, she's had a baby (or babies) too!

carrie1008 · 22/10/2015 20:15

Hi Jo I'm due about the same time as you too! How are you feeling? I've just hit the afternoon sleepiness stage with lots of muscle tweaks and stretching!

BiffleRoo · 22/10/2015 20:31

DH just earned himself major brownie points. I really bloated esp in the evenings and feel huge. As soon as I started moaning he told me I was sexy not fat, REALLY sexy. Bravo hubby, bravo.

iamdivergent · 22/10/2015 20:33

I'm feeling a lot of twinges, sore boobs too but DH reckons I am imaging this! And if I didn't know I was pg, I wouldn't notice! Hmm apart from that and the bloating I don't feel any different so far.

I won't buy anything until they are here an safe - other than a coming home outfit.
Will need to buy a double but will do that as well once they are here. Baby can go in the sling or dd can until we have made our mind up!

Clarish I wouldn't accept anything like that until 3rd trimester I think, it's way too soon!

I haven't even bought prenatal vitamins until I know there's actually a heartbeat in there, let alone anything else!

carrie1008 · 22/10/2015 21:16

Iamdivergent glad I'm not the only one...I almost want morning sickness to come just so I feel more pregnant (careful what I wish for!)

Stripes1983 · 22/10/2015 21:33

Feeling pretty much always nauseous except when I eat ( forced) then I'm fine for about an hour & then starts again! Only been sick once though! Gave in and booked early scan for next week , I'll be almost 9 weeks then , did another HPT & got 3+ so somethings still going on! Not planning on buying anything until at least dating scan though

clarish84 · 22/10/2015 22:02

Thanx ladies I'm glad to know it's not just me that worries about buying things
I have spoke to my dh about it and he said just eplain to her she will understand
She is lovely and I don't think she means any harm just excited
Thanx again ladies sometimes I just think I'm a bit harsh

LucilleLeSueur · 23/10/2015 06:38

I usually buy one little item of clothing the minute I find out I'm pregnant, but I didn't this time. Maybe because it was a shock, but also I feel quite tense and worried because of my age (just turned 35).

Re. Pre-natal vitamins, I thought it was most important to take them in the first trimester. The folic acid is important for neural tube development. At least I think I remember that from last time around, anyone else?

Lovelybeano · 23/10/2015 06:53

I agree lucille vitamins are better to take when you start trying or if a surprise has happened as soon as you find out xxx
I don't really see any harm in buying if there's a bargain to be had, I personally wouldn't buy cots or prams until a later stage but if you see a bargain when your out and about, grab it, if anything goes wrong, it can always be put to one side for next time, or given to a friend xxx

iamdivergent · 23/10/2015 07:08

I've only bought vitamins, we have a cot and moses basket from last time round will just need a new mattress. I won't buy anything till after my scan and even then it will just be a wee outfit. I must admit to having a peek at mat wear (asos has loads of lovely stuff) because I know I'm going to need stuff for work fairly soon, I am definitely a little bloated!

jbiscuits · 23/10/2015 07:20

I agree with everyone else. We bought most things (aside from the odd bargain) at 30+ weeks last time, although that was more to do with not having it cluttering up the house than anything else.

Pregnancy vitamins, or at the very least folic acid, should be taken asap though.

As an aside, I had three dreams last night about bleeding, so have woken up feeling rather emotionally drained Sad

JellyBaby26 · 23/10/2015 07:22

Yes you should take the folic acid re the neural tube, can reduce the likes of spina biffida etc but then saying that some people don't find out they are pg until very late on and wouldn't have taken them. But is it worth the risk?
I'm taking pregnacare as I have a few sheets left over and then I'll be on to tescos as one of the ladies from my June 15 bus sent me them. I did t get on with boots own last time. If I remember correctly it was the texture.

I know it's very early but I can recommend the Chicco Next2me!

Nausea is creeping in here at 7 weeks. I am feeling completely exhausted, but it could just be that my dd is being a handful at the moment.

I did manage to eat an entire pack of bacon for my lunch yesterday!

Advice/help please from a worrying pregnant lady! I'm 6 weeks today (Yeay!) but this morning I have quite a lot of creamy cm. I haven't had any cm really at all since I found out I was pregnant. I also feeling very out of sorts today, lightheaded etc. Is the cm normal? Is anyone else experiencing this? There's quite a lot (so sorry for tmi) I'd really appreciate your advice xx

mrsmugoo · 23/10/2015 07:52

Emma85 CM is normal, as is lightheadedness Smile

mrsmugoo · 23/10/2015 07:56

Re: vitamins - I am taking folic acid and have been throughout TTC.
I just didn't want to run out and buy pregnacare and then have a mc the next day. Not because of the money but because I would find it sad to have it around, reminding me. I'm 7+1 today and being scanned tomorrow. If everything is ok then I'll straightaway buy my prenatals!

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 23/10/2015 08:08

I certainly agree with everyone waiting to buy stuff. It's easy to get swept up in excitement buying everything you think you'll need (especially if it's your first) but honestly, all sorts of people people buy you stuff, give you stuff etc... And you don't need all the stuff anyway. First time we had a pram, a moses basket and sheets, muslins, some nappies and changing stuff and a few baby grows by the time he was born. Loads of time for figuring out what you need and buying it in time.

Yep, folic acid most crucial in first trimester.

And JellyBaby - I am in awe of your bacon lunch!
