Hi mrslewis I am just north of Bristol also. I think there are a few more Bristolians on this thread also. I am also expecting #1 and am 6+5days today. Congratulations on your BFP!

mrslewis2015 · 19/10/2015 17:51

Just read a few pages back, lovely to see some Bristol mums on here!

Also, huge amounts of love being sent out to those suffering with loss, I hope that you recover soon and can begin a new journey soon xx

mrslewis2015 · 19/10/2015 17:56

Oops didn't see bikingintherain and prinsesspunzies posts! Thanks! Congratulations to you too!

I think we will be on team yellow too, think it will make things even more exciting and would love for my DH to tell me if we have a daughter or son! Feels so alien still!

mrsmugoo · 19/10/2015 18:46

PrincessPunzie I assume you're southmead? Imagine if we were in together haha! (I'm hoping for a home birth but still)

JellyBaby26 · 19/10/2015 18:48

Welcome mrs lewis I did see your post on another thread which lead to some sour remarks!
But congratulations on your BFP!

I also have/had IBS before dd was born Bit I found it improved drastically when I was pregnant with her so fingers crossed it will for you too.

In getting increasingly annoyed...I was supposedly referred to obstetrician over a week ago and would have an early scan but still nothing. Bloody joke. Dr secretary said she would call me back on Thursday...did she....did she buggery! I've been so busy so haven't had time to chase but I will be giving an angry call in the morning!

mrsmugoo and princessPunzie when are you due?

PrincessPunzie · 19/10/2015 18:53

Hi mrsmagoo yes I'll be delivering at Southmead, husband was pleased at the chance to scope the place out last night and today while we were there, so that he has his route from the car park planned out when the time comes! We were big fans of their "yellow dots on the road" direction system. Husband made a song of it (bet you can guess...groan...that one is going to get pretty old before 7.5 months are up...)

PrincessPunzie · 19/10/2015 18:54

9th June mrslewis

mrslewis2015 · 19/10/2015 18:55

Hi jelly yeah that's right, all a bit upsetting but there we go! Think it was a misunderstanding as I was reading lots of the posts for months but felt like I had not much to say!

That's so interesting, I really hope it's the same for me, I'm 15 years into IBS and my symtpttoms suddenly changed, all very dramatic and no explination from doc... So really hope your right!

You poor thing about your appointments! Why do doctors never call you back? I know they must be busy but it's very annoying and stressful when your on the reviving end! Hope they call you soon!

laughingGnomette · 19/10/2015 18:58

Amazing news Rose!!

mrslewis2015 · 19/10/2015 18:59

princesspurdie aww lovely, if I've got my dates right then I'll be just a few weeks behind you! Sounds like you've got a very excited hubby there :)

PrincessPunzie · 19/10/2015 19:02

Haha mrslewis yes I think it all became real for him today when we saw the little heartbeat on the screen, bless him.

mrslewis2015 · 19/10/2015 19:05

Aww princesspunzie that must have been such an amazing moment, can't wait to have that moment, it's not really sunk in for either of us yet! Still feel like perhaps im making it up!

PrincessPunzie · 19/10/2015 19:15

mrslewis I felt like that too until the antenatal dr actually did a pregnancy test on me last night - it was weeks since my BFP and I had this weird moment before she brought back the results where I thought "Oh God what if it's negative?!" I think it's natural to feel completely at sea until a scan or at least a midwife appointment (I haven't got one of those for weeks, so as horrible as this weekend was, the scan has hugely improved my outlook!)

Lovelybeano · 19/10/2015 19:16

Thank you violet for the info on the anti d :)

Torfhinn · 19/10/2015 19:22

Sorry sorry to hear your news derbygirl. Please take care of yourself and i hope you very your rainbow baby soon Flowers

Congratulations on the great scans rose and princess! So pleased for you Smile

I also felt distinctly un-pregnant this morning, and was wishing the nausea back for reassurance. Now have full blown nausea and am wishing it away! My body cannot win with me Grin

mrslewis2015 · 19/10/2015 19:29

princesspunzie so glad I'm not alone in this feeling! Glad your feeling better too, i hope it's all up from here!

TinkerbellShar · 19/10/2015 20:01

Hi everyone I have a 12 week old daughter &I just found out we are expecting our 2nd due in June 2016. Shocked at first but getting my head round it now. Looking forward to them being so close :)

BabySocks · 19/10/2015 20:29

Good evening all, sorry I really can't keep up! !! Lots of posting during the day and then trying to read it all in the evening and remember stuff isn't really working! Am considering a notebook to remember people's names but that seems to be taking it a step too far! !! :)

Welcome and congrats newbies, it is such a worrying time! !! I am jealous of all those close age gaps as that was definitely my plan but things have a way of not working out! Anyway if this sticks I will be super grateful as we were reaching the end of the road and starting to look at adoption so I really will be happy to provide a sibling for my son Star

Scan tomorrow though so will know whether to be cautiously hopeful after that, will be keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Sorry to blather on about me but need to let it out tonight Confused

bikingintherain · 19/10/2015 20:56

Fingers firmly crossed for you babysocks and anything else I can find to cross at the same time! What time is the scan? I'm sure it will all be fine.

I completely know what you mean about trying to remember names, I'm guessing in a month or so we'll have less newbies to remember and it will become a bit easier! (Newbies you are very welcome, just difficult to remember everyone!)

I'm amazed by people who have babies close together, mostly because I was not at all interested in sex post labour!

Belvedere · 19/10/2015 21:08

Thanks Mrsmugoo. I went to southmead but was referred by my gp. They were great but I find that unit so sad... There were some glum looking people.

Lovelybeano · 19/10/2015 21:25

I'm with you on the sex after birth biking!! My ds got stuck so I had a lovely 2nd degree tear ouchy, nothing came near that area for a while lol

PrincessPunzie · 19/10/2015 21:26

Belvedere we thought that at Southmead today too. The sonographer seemed so pleased to give us good news, and we wondered how many times a day she has to dole out less happy tidings.

emma85x · 19/10/2015 22:17

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me jumping in. I've also recently found out I'm pregnant after 2 years of trying! My first month on Clomid. I've just turned 30, live in Buckinghamshire and I'm due June 17th! So lovely to meet you all! Smile xx

mrsmugoo · 19/10/2015 22:19

Re: sex after having a baby...I didn't until I stopped breastfeeding at 10 months!! It just killed my sex drive and my body didn't feel like my own.
Totally got back in the swing after that though, my poor husband!
