Hi so after not sleeping and scaring myself last night/this morning my breasts are tender to touch again and starting to ache (probably from being manhandled Hmm.

tigress I was so concerned that I did phone my EPU at 6am and they told me i can come in around 9:30/10am (it would be less busy) so debating if I should just go, it would be alone and thats scary as i'm still feeling very apprehensive or just wait for another week. i also read that these symptoms come and go as your body get used to the hormones, so holding on to hope and i guess just too scared to go and find out one way or another.

carrie1008 · 19/10/2015 08:57

I've just tried to book my initial GP appt and was told there are no routine appts for 2wks! I feel bad saying its an emergency because it's not really, so I'll be on tenderhooks until then. Anyone else have to wait too?!

carrie1008 · 19/10/2015 08:59

I would still go AmIseeingRight because you're just going to be stressed and second guessing constantly. Could you ask someone else you trust to go with you?

cautiousoptimist1 · 19/10/2015 09:07

Morning ladies
AmIseeingRight - I'd still go too if I were you. They are there to help and it will put your mind at rest.

I still have no sickness but get the feeling it's not far off. I had some nausea yesterday but I was ok again after food.

I don't actually own any scales so no idea what weight I have or will put on. My trousers still fit!

Has anyone else had a rash? Mine started about a week ago on my chest and back, had a GP appointment anyway so I do have some mild cream to treat it but I'm not sure it's helping. She said to go back after 2 weeks if it doesn't improve.

Finally, can anyone recommend a good pregnancy book or is it just not worth it? If there's something you can recommend for dads to be too, that would be fab!

tigress23 · 19/10/2015 09:17

CautiousOptimist, I've got these two books for the DH. I haven't found one I like that much for me yet, though.

tigress23 · 19/10/2015 09:18

Posted too soon. I've been reading the 'Pregnancy for Men' one along with DH and it's really good. Funny too.

tigress23 · 19/10/2015 09:19

The best thing about these two is that they are both British so they reference the right healthcare system

nehagarg · 19/10/2015 09:33

Another one that I quite like, cautiousoptimist is Brain Rules for Baby.

Belvedere · 19/10/2015 09:37

Carrie you don't need to go to the doctor, you can call the midwife clinic direct and they will book you in. Mines not till I'm nearly 12 weeks though so I have an even longer wait. But the doctor will only refer you which you can do yourself and your clinic might have a shorter wait

BiffleRoo · 19/10/2015 09:42

biscuits we didn't screen with DS and won't again this time. I had a similar reaction from the midwife so know what you mean. My opinion is I wouldn't terminate so why put myself and the baby through tests unnecessarily.

I will also have 2 under 2 but only for about 2 weeks!

carrie1008 · 19/10/2015 09:52

Thanks Belvedere, I'll get on the case. I think I just want to get in the system to feel like I'm doing something. This "knowing you're pregnant...but not really feeling pregnant" stage is so hard!

Belvedere · 19/10/2015 09:55

I know Carrie it's the worst. It feels like years!

cheshirem2b · 19/10/2015 10:18

This thread is moving way too quickly! I cannot keep up! That is what you get for getting upduffed while you have a 10 month old isn't it?!
I have my booking apt with the mw on Friday! Cannot wait! That is when it starts to get real. I had an early scan first time around due to some light bleeding that lasted almost a week. I've had a tiny amount of spotting this time about a week ago so not asking for an early scan this time as it settled the same day - phew!

Thinking of you ladies that are having an anxious time - it will go quickly however once you are past 12 weeks!

Derbygirl37 · 19/10/2015 10:20

I'm 99% sure that I'm out. I'm heartbroken so am going to hide away for a bit and try to come to terms with things. Might 'see' you all in the future. Take care of yourselves x

laughingGnomette · 19/10/2015 10:25

:( Derby Flowers I'm so sorry xx

laughingGnomette · 19/10/2015 10:30

I can't bring myself to get the ball rolling for booking in until I've had my scan tomorrow, is that daft?

Thanks for the app recommendations ladies, I'm enjoying ovia :)

tigress23 · 19/10/2015 10:30

I'm sorry, DerbyGirl. I hope you feel better soon xx

bikingintherain · 19/10/2015 10:45

Oh Derbygirl I'm sorry. Flowers.

Thanks for the encouragement from the ladies the other day r.e morning sickness and my boss. I treid to get up and about this morning but have had to come home as I just can't function or talk as talking makes me retch. Not so good for the one one one meeting I have this afternoon, so have cancelled. But I have booked in to see the GP tomorrow so am hopeful they have a suggestion or two.

cautious I had a pregnancy book I loved first time round, I'll look it up....Oh I also hated one of the books for DH, I'll look that up to....

bikingintherain · 19/10/2015 10:50

Oh and further down the road I loved this one, lots of parenting books tell you things with a particular angle, or in a style of parenting. I found this one to be really helpful because it really just told you the facts and I felt was mostly unbias.

mrsmugoo · 19/10/2015 10:56

Just got my booking in appt for Nov 19th - I'll be 11 weeks. God knows when my scan will be then?!

bikingintherain · 19/10/2015 10:58

I think (but I might be wrong) this is the dad's book I didn't like. There probably was good stuff in it but it really put me off when it said that fathers shouldn't get up to help in the night if mum is breastfeeding (i.e. to change nappies or anything) because there's no point in the man being tired too. Which to a small degree I understand, but breastfeeding is hard enough and you need as much moral support as possible particularly in the beginning. Anyway, it's this book.

I will stop hogging the thread now.

bikingintherain · 19/10/2015 10:59

They can be quite quick mrsmuggo, it might well be just a week later. It just depends on the way the local system works.

mrsmugoo · 19/10/2015 11:08

Yeah I hope so. To be fair, last time I turned up on the doorstep of the midwives saying I was 14 weeks and got a scan the week after.

carrie1008 · 19/10/2015 11:17

So sorry Derby been through it myself in the past, sending you love Flowers xx
