started a new thread as the old one was getting full up. Thought I would post the link to stats here too so people can update if they want!

Morning everyone, back from hols a day early as gusty winds on an empty campsite meant we were worried our tent wouldn't hold up so had to drive back last night! Not ideal but soo nice to sleep on a proper bed.

Lots of posts to catch up on! Welcome back battleships Smile

I'm not planning on using a double buggy - I might get a buggy board for DD but I've also bought a sling - the manduca carrier. I had the close caboo (ring style) with DD and liked it for the first two months or so but then she got too heavy and it kept slipping down when I tried to use it for long periods of time. So I've gone for the manduca because it looks a bit more sturdy. For DD we bought a mama and papas sola for quite cheap from pram world which is worth looking at for cheaper prices. I then got the carry cot cheap second hand from eBay. Bed wise we used the NCT bednest with DD and will use it again. We also have a maxi cosi car seat which is the safest according to which (or was, 2 years ago), and which fits onto the sola. I do remember getting so overwhelmed with choice when pregnant with DD, am glad this time I don't have to think about it!

Someone also mentioned breast pumps? I bought mine once bf was established, I've got the Phillips agent electric and I found it actually really comfortable though a bit noisy! I really needed it as went back to work as 6 months so pumped a lot when not working from home! I never bothered buying bottles etc till I got my breast pump as I never intended to formula feed and I think if something had gone wrong and I'd needed to, DP could have gone out and bought bottles etc at late notice. DD was a bottle refuser so we got no use out of the bottles I did buy! And we went straight to a doidy cup as that's the only thing she'd drink from.

My sickness had pretty much gone but yesterday I felt quite queasy Sad its definitely on the way out though thankfully!

The mama roo might go into some January sales so worth waiting!
Sorry about your holiday marmite the weather really has taken a turn, time to go buy a new parka I think.
I intend to breastfeed so will do like you said, see how that goes before buying anything extra.
Welcome back battleship - glad to hear all is starting to look up for you now.

BeautifulLiar · 15/09/2015 08:28

Does that kind of thing tend to be in the sales Cucumber? It said 7 weeks delivery in John Lewis!! DH text back after looking at it and said "Jesus christ girl, you could buy a house for that!" Haha I love him. I've sent him a HUGE list of reasons justifying buying it... fingers crossed he'll just get bored reading it and agree to buy it!

Poppins27 · 15/09/2015 08:40

Did you find the sola ok marmite as this is the pram I'd hoped to get this time. I have a perfectly good silver cross travel system but found it was quite bulky and would like a lighter pram this time as have a dog to walk and a 3 year old to juggle too?!

battleships that sounds really scary, hope your fighting fit and able to start enjoying the pregnancy soon.

I'd been pottering along quite nicely but had a big bleed last night which scared me but feeling reassured after speaking to the EPU this morning, they aren't concerned as seems to have stopped now, probably been a haematoma.....phew!!

QforCucumber · 15/09/2015 08:46

Haha I showed dp it last night and his response 'it's a chair, why does the baby need a £200 chair - I don't have a £200 chair' hahah.
I have no idea, I know with the travel system we want the model down got £100 knocked off in this year's sales then they released the one I want so I'm hoping they'll do the same in January coming up. Love a bargain.

QforCucumber · 15/09/2015 08:49

Ooo got my nt results letter yesterday - 1:50,000 I'd say those are some positive odds. And now breathe and wait for the 30th and the 21st October.

Trinpy · 15/09/2015 09:23

Yay, excellent news Q! My results are supposed to reach me in one week, so by this Thursday. I hope it comes through sooner than that though!

Poppins Good that epu don't think the bleed was anything to worry about. It must have been very scary for you though.

Battleships Poor you! That all sounds awful. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes more smoothly.

Rosieblossom123 · 15/09/2015 10:03

Q & Beautiful I don't think the mamaroo will ever go in the sale haha probably knock £50 off it! I love it though my partner is refusing to buy it though keeps saying it's only a chair I'll make the baby one Shock

Also trying to convince him for us to go for a 3d scan, he said he thinks it's creepy!! Arghh why is everything such hard work! anyone thinking of having a 3d scan?

TriJo · 15/09/2015 10:04

I'm at home today with an absolutely foul sinus infection. I would like to just say right now fuck the fact that I can only have paracetamol, it feels like it's only tickling the pain in my face.

QforCucumber · 15/09/2015 10:15

rosie I don't like the 3d ones personally, find them a bit weird so don't think I'll be having one.

DP said we don't need the mamaroo so that won't be happening either. We are however this weekend removing the double bed from the spare room and so it can be my blank canvas.
Need a new carpet in there and as it'll be babies room until we decide to have another one (at least 3 years) need something which will withstand a toddler. I'm quite excited.

Rosieblossom123 · 15/09/2015 10:55

Q I don't think he's going to buy it to be honest, a girl can only dream haha
Fair enough a lot of people find them weird I find them fascinating, still trying to convince him haha

I cleared the spare bedroom over the weekend and I can't wait to create the nursery so excited too :) same here the carpet in there definitely needs changing, we're going to carpet right this weekend to look at prices.

Trinpy · 15/09/2015 11:52

Rosie I had a 3D scan with ds and it wasn't weird at al! It made it feel more real for me and when ds was born he really looked like he did in the scan pictures. I want one this time too.

IndomitabIe · 15/09/2015 12:10

Hello,

Sorry you're so uncomfortable TriJo, could a pharmacist recommend somethin?

I'm just home to have lunch before my scan. After feeling very steady about it I'm now a bag of nerves. Aargh!

Rosieblossom123 · 15/09/2015 12:22

Tri that's why I want to get it done, I know seeing baby's face will make it even more real, might book it and tell dp its booked ahaha

Rosieblossom123 · 15/09/2015 12:23

Indo good luck with your scan don't worry hopefully everything will be okay! Flowers what time is it?

ThePug · 15/09/2015 12:31

I won't be having a 3D scan because there isn't enough research into the safety of prolonged ultrasound to show it doesn't affect the baby; the NHS anomoly/dating ones are relatively quick but the 3D ones take longer and use different frequency waves. Advice from NHS is that, whilst they may be perfectly safe, why risk it when it's not for a medical reason - www.nhs.uk/news/2010/02February/Pages/Warning-over-souvenir-baby-scans.aspx

Q Those are brilliant odds! I thought mine were good at just under 1:14,000!

Is anyone craving food/drink? The only thing I have craved so far is cheddar cheese and salted peanuts. I keep getting the block of cheese out the fridge and cutting slices Blush Am seriously considering taking a block with me when I go to the US for a conference on Friday. If I'm feeling a bit yucky in the evening, a few slices of cheese seem to really help so don't want to be without it for a week - we all know I won't be able to get any proper cheese in America! Thinking if I froze it before I went it would then defrost over the journey and could go in the mini bar when I'm there... Not sure whether the texture would be bad when defrosted though, has anyone ever frozen cheese?

BeautifulLiar · 15/09/2015 12:55

Craving fruit pastilles!

Rosie DH said we can buy the Mamaroo!! I'm so excited. He was the total opposite last pregnancy but always promised me that if we had another one he'd be different, it's nice :)

No 3d scans here. They do seem a little creepy to me, and I'd be paranoid of accidentally seeing its bits!

Good luck Indomitable - keep us updated :)

Q those are fantastic odds! I'm having my blood test done tomorrow as baby wouldn't let us do the nuchal test. I'm kind of nervous actually -it's getting pretty late to potentially find out bad news.

Is anyone else having nightmares? Every night I have them... really sick, horrible things. I actually dreamt the other night that my two year old was do naughty I hired someone to hurt her, this huge guy came and did it and I could her screaming for me :( God it was horrible, it woke me up and I STILL feel guilty over it!!

I was going to get a baby bean bag but I don't think I'll need one with the mamaroo will I?

Rosieblossom123 · 15/09/2015 13:30

Beautiful Yay you convinced him, so lucky i'll keep trying to be honest that's all I could do or worse case I'll buy it myself and surprise him Blush I don't think you'll need a bean bag if you buy the mamaroo, my friend has it and she said her baby loves it she cries when she gets her out of it haha

IndomitabIe · 15/09/2015 13:35

I'm in the waiting room. I'm desperate for a wee! There's a university researcher trying to find first timers to do a questionnaire, I don't qualify, but having overheard her conversations I've established that most of us waiting are second time first trimesters, with one lady in for a growth scan (fingers crossed for her).

I need a weee!

Come on!

BeautifulLiar · 15/09/2015 14:01

Oohh let us know Indomitable! :)

Ooh really Rosie?? So you've seen one in the flesh?! Haha. I've never seen one before, I bought a tape measure today Blush and I'm sure we've got the space in our living room - it'll be going where we used to have a jumperoo which was huge! It's also where we put the Christmas tree so luckily it'll have grown out of it by Christmas 2016 ha

IndomitabIe · 15/09/2015 14:38

All good! Phew! Have to wait for trisomy results though.

Had a 3 day old new machine and it was amazing. We could see so much detail! I'm blown away!

Rosieblossom123 · 15/09/2015 14:53

Beautiful I've seen one in flesh in Mamas and Papas a while ago but wasn't really familiar with the brand so can't remember the size but my friend just bought it and told me about so I told her I'll see it when I'm round hers. If you had a jumperoo there I'm sure the mamaroo will fit :) I'm glad the xmas tree will be long gone before baby comes haha

IndomitabIe that's great news :)

Embolio · 15/09/2015 16:41

Hi all, I can't keep up with you guys! Great news re scan indomitable

I've also been having really vivid, weird dreams, think I remember that from my last pregnancy too.

I've got an old icandy Apple pram and carrycot which cost such a fortune when we bought it for ds1 that I feel like I can't justify buying a new one (even though I secretly want to!). I've been googling today to see if you can still buy the different colour foot muffs and hoods so I can give it a new lease of life! Need to dig out the manual and see which version it is, but had an attack of laziness Smile

Am getting really salty cravings at the moment - marmite, pickle, strong cheddar- I totally understand you wanting to sneak some into the U.S. ThePug - I'm pretty sure I've heard cheese freezes ok but never actually tried it.

shieldbug I'm massively jealous of you going to Tayto land gave heard it's great fun Grin Tayto spring onion crisps have been my guilty pleasure recently too - once you've had Tayto you can't go back to walkers!

We've recently painted the spare room but still need to get new carpet and curtains, it will be the baby's room but has to double up as a guest room for now too so keeping things neutral. I can feel the nesting instinct kicking in a bit- am desperate to start decorating everywhere!

marmitemofo · 15/09/2015 16:53

Congrats indomitable Grin

Poppins I really liked the sola. Its quite bulky though lightweight . It splits into two bits which helps to fit it in the boot of the car! We had a Micra when DD was small so needed a buggy that we could fit in our small boot!

RhubarbAndMustard · 15/09/2015 16:58

ThePug cheese does freeze ok, it's just quite crumbly when you defrost and eat.

I'm having bad nightmares and waking up around 4:30am most mornings. Feel like a zombie.
