started a new thread as the old one was getting full up. Thought I would post the link to stats here too so people can update if they want!

ginger I'm so pleased for you! That must be such a relief. Yay, you can now relax.

Welcome emmy!

Have finally added myself to the stats. I'm well old compared to most of you!

I too have just started getting headaches. In fact have just taken some paracetamol. I figure a one off dose won't hurt.

magpiedreams · 09/09/2015 17:01

Hello all, have been keeping up but also keeping quiet...!

Welcome to all the newbies! Congrats to all those with lovely, reassuring scans. Sorry for those still feeling crappy (I'm with you btw!). And sorry for those with horrid recent experiences - sher

So I am lagging behind most of you at only 11+2 now, and only just got my '12 week' scan date through which is not until 24/09 when I'll be 13+3 which is more than a bit annoying. Ah well, shouldn't moan.

Hope all you teachers are doing ok. DS has just started reception and thankfully is thriving, but lots of them are struggling and the teachers and TAs are just amazing! Much respect.

RhubarbAndMustard · 09/09/2015 17:02

Amazing news Ginger, what a relief for you. I don't envy the emotional roller coaster you've been on.

Crispy I may go for the paracetamol too then. I'm 14 weeks tomorrow so should be ok now. Nothing else seems to shift it. I'm lying in bed now with the head ache stick thing but it's not really helping much.

MyNameIsSuz · 09/09/2015 17:06

Wow ginger, that's amazing news!!

Crispy, it's not just you, I've felt movements too. First last night after my dance class (baby is obviously a belly dancer, wahey) and again today. I'm certain that's what it was! I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and apparently that's within a normal time to be feeling things, especially if it's not your first.

Rosieblossom123 · 09/09/2015 17:07

Ginger that is amazing new :) can't believe what the others put you through, you can now relax :)

sherazade · 09/09/2015 17:22

Thanks everyone for all your sweet messages , I knew I could rely on you all! Am not in London thankfully. Didn't drive at all today and still very worried about the cyclist and my kids but once again thanks to you all for the support . Feeling cheered up by your amazing news Ginger !

docmcstuffins1 · 09/09/2015 18:08

Fantastic news Ginger so pleased for you!
What a horrible experience for you Sher hope you can start to put it behind you soon.

ffauxlivia · 09/09/2015 18:34

wow so much to catch up on

Sher you poor thing, what an ordeal, then have to deal with racists on top of it. I bet those people are the very same people who complain about cyclists causing accidents on another day - they just always need something to moan about. Try and forget them and remember that it was a genuine accident and everyone is okay!

ginger yay so pleased for you! I know how worried you were. Does this mean you won't need to bother with further testing now? So glad you can relax a bit

emmy welcome! I am first time mum too and also overwhelmed. I'm giving birth in a new country too (USA) so it's especially strange!

Q just to go back to what you said about your husband - ha mine is the same! He took little interest initially and then suddenly from 8 weeks was super interested in every little thing I do and eat - yesterday he tried to stop me having a tiny square of dark chocolate because it contained orange liqueur, grrr! Annoying but at least he cares I guess!

IndomitabIe · 09/09/2015 19:15

Fantastic news ginger! I especially liked this bit: "I told her we had a private scan at 11+4 and she said it was irresponsible to tell me that at such gestation" - that's what I said! (Proud of my nerdy interest in medical stuff!)

I'm so tired this evening! I actually got out of breath in my yr11 lesson today - nothing athletic, just a more traditional lesson than I normally do with lots of lecture/instruction, helping & imposing some strict behaviour rules. I had to have a bit of a sit-down with yr12 straight after! (Good job it was yr12!).

Need to plan quickly now and get to bed.

People upthread mentioned sickness coming back - I have a theory that it's linked to tiredness. I think we start to feel better again and inadvertently overdo it, and the sickness returns. I know I feel more sick if I've overdone it (and a few weeks ago, that would be as much as a short walk round the park). Trying so hard to sleep & rest this time.

And regarding overprotective partners. DH has hardly registered this time! He said the other day 'what are you, 9, 10 weeks?' Er, 11 dear!

Gingerlady123 · 09/09/2015 20:29

Thanks everyone. The lady who did my bloods in the ante natal clinic when I told her said " I bet that was a private scan, their good at scaring people ".
Made me feel better that two people didn't seem bothered that it measured high before.
Really nervous about getting my odds. They said they will call if high risk and if not it'll be a letter in the post. We got 1:280 last time so surely it should be better? Still a bit nervous as to why it measured so much between 11 weeks and 11 plus four. The highest she got today was 2.6.
Does anyone know if the nhs factors in the nasal bone as the private people did ?
So glad the rest (abdomen) etc. looked normal for this stage.
I slept when I got in from work yesterday, woke had dinner and went back to sleep for 13 hours! Then I still had a nap this evening.
Yesterday on the way home from work I vomited in a plastic bag on the minibus ( work transport ) in front of everyone. Good job they all knew I was pregnant.
Sher- hope your feeling a bit better :)
I still don't feel pregnant really. Really weird seeing this baby having a party and having no bump or not feeling it.

marmitemofo · 09/09/2015 20:33

Congrats ginger Grin

indomitable your theory kinda makes sense. I was feeling quite normal today but had a really tiring day at work with 3 meetings of 1-2 hours. Then as DP is away I had to do nursery pick up and dinner and bed with DD, DD was a totally nightmare pita tantruming all over the place. And at her bedtime and ever since I've felt awful and sick! So reckon could definitely be tiredness.

Watching bake off now then it's bed time for me I think....

Oh god, I've missed loads on here but Sherazade - really hope you're ok; I've been thinking about you today and can't believe what happened. Poor you!

Ginger what fantastic news! So happy for you.

Indomitable I am definitely worse when tired. I was awake for two hours in the night last night and today felt really ill. I think it was scan nerves too though. Speaking of which...

THE BABY SAT ON ITS BUM AGAIN!! Not as bad as last time, but the sonographer had to date me by measuring its head and couldn't do NT measurements.

In her words "Riiiight. Your baby is sat in its bum, with its legs stretched out like it's on a sunlounger!"

I couldn't really see what she meant, but I've just gone back and had a look at all the other scan pics on here and now I can tell! All your babies are perfectly laid on their backs... why is mine chilling out on a chair?! Haha.

Apparently it kept "cuddling up to the placenta" too which you can see on some of the pics. We were allowed to have our pics for free as the baby was so naughty!

I finally have a due date - and I know I've got plenty of due date buddies on here - 8th March :)

BeautifulLiar · 09/09/2015 20:45

Here is the little monkey! 14 + 1 today

March 2016 #4 - entering the second trimester at last and (hopefully) waving goodbye to sickness
BeautifulLiar · 09/09/2015 20:48

Marmite - i feel your pain, as I'm doing stuff on my own too. It's knackering when you're not used to it! Hope your DD is sound asleep. I've got Bake Off on it the background but it makes me feel a bit nauseous!

shieldbug · 09/09/2015 20:57

Beautiful what a naughty baby!! Glad you could get a pic and a due date though. Are you due another scan soon so they can do the NT measurements?

Sherazade So sorry to hear about your traumatic experience. Mob mentality is just awful. A previous bf and I once crashed into a lady's car near where she lived (her fault) and loads of locals came out and started to get cross with us until we were rescued by a couple from a nearby pub. It just takes one then all the others follow suit. Hope you are feeling a bit better.

Ginger hooray for good news. Please don't worry about previous measurements, but focus on the fact that everything is fine now and do enjoy your pregnancy.

I've been worried about not feeling anything yet as I'm sure I could with ds2 by now (14+3) but I may have felt something today (or maybe it was wind!). Fx I get something definite to stop my silly worrying.

BeautifulLiar · 09/09/2015 21:12

No shield - it's too late now. I've got to go back to have bloods taken.

AdorabeezleWinterpop · 09/09/2015 22:35

Sher that sounds terrible. It was a genuine accident and you didn't deserve that reaction Flowers

julesldn · 09/09/2015 23:50

Yay ginger im so pleased for you!! Hope you can start to enjoy yourself now :) also my letter didn't come for ages but I called the midwife after a week and she told me the results over the phone - may be worth you doing too if letter is slow!

Beautiful - it took me ages to work out what was going on in your scan pic haha but totally agree - baby is on a sun lounger chilling out haha!!

Welcome Emmy - it's also my first and basically haven't got a clue about anything! 90% of what I know I've learnt from this thread Grin

Missikat · 10/09/2015 06:55

Wow lots to catch up on!

So many lovely scan pics, congrats to all you ladies who've had them recently. Beautiful, what a naughty baby but very cute. Love the lounging!! And pleased you at least got a pic and EDD, which is one day after mine.

Sherz, I am so sorry bout your horrible experience. The hatred of some people in this country never ceases to amaze and disgust me. Please don't let them get to you (Eadier said than done I'm sure.) also just think that the lady on the bike is ok. That is such a horrible thing to happen. Thinking of you.

Ginger, soooo pleased for you!! I think it's awful the private scan people have put you through so much worry. But very happy things are looking positive for you and hopefully you will be able to start enjoying things a bit more.

Mynameis, what sort of belly dancing do you do? I'm also a regular belly dancer (American tribal style) And danced all the way through pregnancy with DS until 40 weeks, he absolutely loves dancing and has a real ear for rhythm! (I totally put it down to the fact he was shimmied about every week while developing, lol!)

Who has decided if they are finding out the gender of their little ones at the 20 week scan? We didn't with DS (Although was convinced I was having a boy all the way through) and won't be finding out again. Would love to know whet you're all doing.

I told all my colleagues and boss this week. Got a really positive reaction thankfully. I did say that I know it's not great timing but they all said it's great for me and that's all that matters. So relieved. I can now start not having to select clothes that try to hide my growing belly. A couple of my female colleagues did say they were wondering as I've been drinking decaf tea, plus they said my boobs have really grown! (Which is very true but didn't think anyone would have noticed as they're massive even before pregnancy!!)

Also got downs screening back. It said low risk, think it was something like 1:16000 so very happy about that.

Wishing everyone who's still waiting in scans/results that they get good news. Xx

sherazade · 10/09/2015 07:03

Thanks once again everyone
beautiful due date buddies with me and half this thread haha

marmitemofo · 10/09/2015 07:22

I'm also a due date buddy beautiful!

So tired this morning. Was up till gone 11 chatting to DP on the phone. Then DD woke up at 3.30 Sad I think she's teething which would explain why she was also a massive grump yesterday. We've got a bed in her room and ended up getting into bed with her, she still didn't drop off till nearly 5 and then woke up at 6.30! So tired today ... Makes me really dread the sleepless nights to come with baby number 2!!

One more day of work and them we're going camping for five days, can't wait. Although the weather forecast is terrible!

OP posts:
QforCucumber · 10/09/2015 08:47

Missi we aren't going to find out, DP's family keep telling us we should so they know what to buy but seeing as it's only for their own selfish reasons we are still not going to.

marmite I feel for you, tiredness is never good, but hope the weather manages to stay nice for camping.

indomitable I very much agree, the only times lately I've really felt sickly are late at night when I've stayed up past my bedtime haha.

beautiful I know it's naughty but I also very much love that scan picture, that baby is certainly going to be the ruler in your household.

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 10/09/2015 08:58

High Five to all the mums who are on their own this week, my DH has been away since Monday and is back tomorrow. It really makes me appreciate him, thankfully DD is very good and always in bed by 7 (and sleeps through although is an early riser - 5am today!) but having to do all the cooking, cleaning, routines is really, I literally crash out as soon as I close DD bedroom door!

I just thank the lord that my morning sickness seems to have finally gone for good all i'm left with is spordic dry wretching if I go near the smelly bin or dishwasher! My energy is coming back and I feel so much better - so much more like myself. I was feeling very sorry for myself over the last few months and have let myself go a bit so today i'm having my hair done (as roots are about an inch long) and going to sort out the shaving situation!! - it seems my armpits were the only thing I have cared to shave since July Shock ! My poor DH, hoping to spruce myself up before he comes home! Any recommendations for easy fake tan that doesn't streak?

QforCucumber · 10/09/2015 09:22

Haha smirking I did a full body epilate the other day as I realiased it had been about 3/4 months since Oops! I had to apologise to dp, said if I've neglected myself then I've definitly neglected him haha.
Fake tan I use boots soltan gradual gel one, it's a tinted gel which darkens over 8 hours or so.

Rosieblossom123 · 10/09/2015 10:00

Beautiful I love the scan picture it really made me smile, only two days after mine :)

jules my letter didn't come for ages too so I phoned the midwife and she gave me the readings over the phone and she said they're perfectly normal, I'm still waiting for the letter, might phone them up and check if they actually posted it!

Missi we're gonna find out the sex, DP has a 4 year old boy already and we actually don't mind either sex but I really want a girl because me and MIL are the only females in dp family they're all males haha DP has 2 brothers, 3 uncles and all his cousins are boys, we definitely need some girls in the family. 5 weeks and we'll find out fx!

Smirking I'm in the same boat as you regarding the shaving situation only arm pit shaving since July and if its a hot day like today and i'll make an exception and shave my legs Blush
