Dont faint Ladies, my midwife has actually returned my call

It turns out she has been away for two weeks and that i neednt have wasted time phoning her anyway as i could have just phoned my GP and they would have booked me in at the clinic she does there once a week. If someone had told me that instead of saying i had to do it through her then it would have saved a lot of time and hassle. Anyway im seeing her next wednesday. When i mentioned that im seeing the consultant next week too she was very shocked. Apparantly he only sees people who are high risk or have something in their medical history to cause concern but as far as i know im ok and the appointment came through before id had my scan/bloods so know it has nothing to do with them. When i see her we are going to go through all my notes to see why he wants to see me and if we are still unsure she will phone him while im there to ask the reason. Its got me a bit worried now in case he knows something i dont.

anneme · 29/11/2006 19:05

Don't worry pebble, I think once you get on a list then they just send letters out to you. I would use it to your advantage so that all medics will see you whenever.
Tried to get onto this at work earlier but it kept coming up as blocked because of a dodgy word so I was v intrigued - not sure what the firewall was being offended by but am a little paranoid that our Head of IT has been reading all I say.
I know it isn't Tuesday but didn't get back to computer yesterday - 71/2 sheets but bigger when I breathe out... not much muscle there really.
I did yoga with 1st preg - it was really good and helped my back. Hope to do it this time...found number of woman in an NCT newsletter I think but I will see if there is a national number/website to call. She did a visualising exercise with me that she then taped for use later..."you are floating in the sea" etc. Made DH lie down and listen with me and within 2 mins he was snoring...oh well.
forgot to say when I arrived the other day
me 35
dh 39
due 17 may - last one was only a day or two late so fingers crossed.

Pinkjenny · 29/11/2006 19:30

I have just got back from a particularly boring disciplinary hearing in Manchester. I have stopped advising Area Managers to sack people because I feel hormonal and sick, so a final written warning today!

12DOC - I am officially pregnant too! Was asked for the first time today, 'are you expecting?' Hooray! Not just fat, but pregnant!

Red - I cannot believe I have been to work and missed out on all the shopping time - must make up for it immediately.

LG&T - no time to get any KK - am starting to feel a bit deprived and left out now. Did someone say you can get them in Tesco?

Frenchsmallfry · 29/11/2006 20:20

Grin Grin

Frenchsmallfry · 29/11/2006 20:51

see, you're all talked out now I'm back.

I am only joking honestly. I forget that you ladies don't actually know me. Reminds me of Jess's quiz with the question about do you use scarcasim? lol

TYG, I would have written exactly that too.

Must be neally time for another quiz Jess, or anyone else who is good at that sort of thing, I wouldn't know where to start to write one.

hello ladies. it is so good to read all of these happy posts lately. not as much sick happening these days. mostly just chocolate and donuts. my craving has been for caprese salad. i'm sure you know what that is, but just in case it is tomatoes, basil, fresh mozarella, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. so good. i just finished a giant bowl full. i have been eating so much cheese too. all kinds. yum.
i really don't have much to say. just wanted to say hello and i am glad we are all seeming to feel a bit better.

largeginandtonic · 30/11/2006 07:58

What a yummy salad Jess, sounds delish. I love mozarella too. Glad the sick has stopped, may the pound pilling begin.....

Scales Meggle?! Are you crazy, i not sure im brave enough for that. I was 9 and half stone back in August...am thinking im not that now....

Must go and hurry the kiddies up they are yapping/fighting too much when they should all be eating their crumpets. Jacob has peanut butter on his?! Madness....

twelvedaysofchristmas · 30/11/2006 08:33

I keep forgetting TPT. I'm 7 sheets bellybutton to bellybutton, 8 and bit at the widest part underneath my navel. I think I'm shrinking.

OP posts:
Frenchsmallfry · 30/11/2006 08:34

Good lad Jacob, I absolutly LOVE peanut butter on a cumpet. Yumm Yumm. Can't get crumpets here.

Couldn't sleep last night, I think it was about 2.45am when I last huffed at the clock. I went to bed at 10.20pm, dh said he would be straight up, it was 11.30pm in the end before he appeared, makes me so cross as I can't settle normally if I know he is on his way up. Then he set the alarm for 6.45 this morning, but didn't get up till 7.30am Grrrrrr, so I'm VERY with him today. He just doesn't get it. I need more sleep whilst I'm hosting a growing pod for this little bub.

Sorry rant over, right must get my arse into gear today, have so much to do before we go away.

I hope you are all fine and dandy.

lg&t get that msn on at some point.

twelvedaysofchristmas · 30/11/2006 08:51

FSF - Could we be married to the same man???

I'll send you some crumpets if you like. I'm doing food parcels today. You can CAT me or give me your email address and I'll arrange it with you.

Anyone else in need of food only available in London/ UK?

Hi all,
back at work now as have a ton to do today but still feel like death warmed up.Am trying not to give my sickness to the old people as that would surely make for an awful Christmas for my staff..Have lost a ton of weight though so am looking forward to putting it all back on as soon as my apetite returns.Am trying to keep being pg under wraps for now in case my deputy-who-I-dont-like, decides not to take the other job she was offered and stick round to act up when Im on mat leave-she hasnt officialy handed her notice in yet..Im taking full advantage of Topshops new T-shirt shape-a sort of smock if you will, £12 only, very handy..

I did yoga classes with dd.I thought the breathing techniques would be useful in labour.Golden thread and all that.Naturally I forgot every bit of it as soon as had the first contraction, but might give it another go.Am going to go to Aquanatal as well as never got there with dd.But will have to buy some sort of Victorian style full body swimming costume to cover up all my new cellulite.Gross.

Have my NVQ RMA induction today-its like an enhanced NVQ thing that I have to do by law to run my service. When on earth Im supposed to find time to do that before I have the baby Lord knows...Also some VIPs are coming from the council to look round my 'flagship' service.I have just thrown a load of cardboard boxes and other assorted junk under the stairs.I hope they dont notice it..

Hope you are all well
xx

Frenchsmallfry · 30/11/2006 09:57

Thank you very much TYG for the offer of crumpets. We are coming back to the UK on Monday for 2 weeks so I'm sure we will get all our fixes then. My Dad said he'd love a crumpet too but only in High heels and a basque. anyone else have a dirty old man as a father?

twelvedaysofchristmas · 30/11/2006 10:05

LOL @ FSF father. I have a step-dad like that. If I liked him I would probably laugh at him, but as it is I give him stony stares.

Offer of the crumpets is open ended if you fancy some after you get back to France.

Scooter - That's really impressive that there are people wanting to see how well you do things, rather than looking for faults. Well done! You might be being very wise about the deputy. You don't want to give her ANY reason to stay. (Particularly if she thinks she might get your job if you decided not to go back. )

Goodluck today, charleymouse. Am thinking of you. and hugs.

ShowOfHands · 30/11/2006 11:58

Hello people!

Had my 16wk check yesterday with my lovely midwife and she didn't weigh me (my biggest fear)! She saw me glaring at the scales and said 'och no dear, we aren't worried about your weight today'. I think I love her...

Anyway, saw a list of all the blood tests I had done at 8 weeks and I am pleased to say that as of today I am not HIV positive, syphilitic and I don't have hepatitis. I didn't even know that they were testing for them. Other good news is that I am still German measles immune after 15 years, iron levels are fine, I know what blood group I am and the baby has a 'perfect' heartbeat for its gestation. I'm even booked in for antenatal classes in April! After reading some people's tales on here, I think my midwives team is fantastic.

Why isn't anybody sending me sweets and doughnuts?! I'm going to !

Saw the new James Bond film last night (actually it's the only James Bond film I've ever seen). Anybody else watched it yet?

twelvedaysofchristmas · 30/11/2006 12:32

I'll send you some goodies SOH. Going to the post office at 2.30 this arvo. What would you like?

Really pleased everything is going well for you and that's great you're getting such good maternity care.

largeginandtonic · 30/11/2006 12:52

Im back, im back.....forced exclusion, little monkey hugs had done something to the computer and it wouldnt let me log on....actually thought i was going to have a heart attack...!

Phew, calm thoughtS LG&T......nOW IVE GOT TO GO AND DO THE SECOND SCHOOL RUN (SORRY CAPS ON) doh..of the day.

Are you posting donuts by any chance TDOC......

FSF peanut butter is weird on crumpets...Sam had marmite also strange (they are twins) Jonah and Phin had nutella (totally acceptable) The baby just had butter, he was not impressed and chucked them on the floor...they are probably still there

twelvedaysofchristmas · 30/11/2006 13:14

Provided there are still some KK's left in Tescos when I go over in a few mins, then yes, I am posting doughnuts. Intended to go over at 10.30 this morning and got stuck here. Tsk.
