JL2 Pelvic floor whats that? Think mine disappeared as soon as i got pgPLus who actually remembers to do those excercises after having a baby, i always start with good intentions but when you are running around after a newborn and your down below feels like youve given birth to a hippo squeezing your bits is the last thing on your mind

Has anyone else had problems this morning convincing their kids that they are only allowed to open one door on their advents? Ds2 has just run off and thrown himself on his bed because horrible mummy wont let him have another Postman Pat chocolate As it was when he was opening the first door this morning i had a sense of De Ja Vu, it cant really have been 12 months since we did it last year has it? it only seems like a short time ago. Must be getting old

Juicylucythe2nd · 01/12/2006 09:35

The midwife told me to start doing them now - so what kind of state is mine in (and I've not even had a baby )
Never know if I'm doing them right even if I do remember to do them. Heho, will just have to buy shares in tenalady

Creena · 01/12/2006 09:35

Morning all.

Charleymouse - that's really good and encouraging news. Fingers crossed for you on the 18th, we'll all be thinking of you.

Cab you catch colds via the internet? I think I'm coming down with one now!

largevirginbirthandtonic · 01/12/2006 09:38

I know what you mean pebble....i cant believe what has happened in a year it feels like it was 5 minutes ago i was opening advent calendars. None of mine have been able to today, they will get to open 3 days worth when they return. That will make them happy...

JL you know me so well... I have no kids here but was still up at 9, i want a bath but am afraid that if i go the doorbell will ring or worse i wont hear it and could miss the postie....Its a dilema im telling ya!

anneme · 01/12/2006 09:51

CM that is really good news - if doctors are being positive I think that is a v good think. Your dd sounds lovely.
SOH - humph - what a silly cow. Trouble is, if you are like me, you spent the rest of the day muttering through diff responses and that means that people think you are mad (hey, we're preg, we're allowed to be)
Names - aargh - I really like the name Maria but ds is called Joseph and it could all get a bit nativity. Trouble is DH and I are both teachers so every time one of us thinks of a name the other one remembers some revolting child who we don't want to be reminded of....
Why do dhs find our inability to sneeze without pelvic floor giving up so funny? I've also had to go for the change of clothing.
don't have to go to work today so am at home doing this and that which is v nice. DS is in nursery but is v wheezy - had to go and get him nebulised the other day but he was v good - must be quite scary for him having a loud machine puffing out clouds of air in your face. Feeling v guilty because am worried that nursery will call me to pick him up and I want to get on with things - oh no, am bad mother.
GUILT GUILT

GodRestYeMerryPebblemum · 01/12/2006 10:02

LG&T Love the name but arent you dreaming, the 5 dc's and 1 in the oven kind of give the truth away You are lucky you dont have my postman, he doesnt come until 11am at the earliest, imagine having to wait all that time for your kk's

Anneme I remember when ds1 was taken to hospital with croup and was put on a nebuliser(sp)he hated it, it took ages to get him to keep it on. They gave it to me to show him it wouldnt hurt him but even i didnt like it I hope you are able to get everything done that you've planned.

Frenchsmallfry · 01/12/2006 10:07

Ohhhhhh yes it should be KK day toady. Ahh I'm excited for you lg&t and I've never had one. lol at your new name too.

CM, so glad the news is more positive. Good luck for the amnio and would be good to try to get some help in.

I'm quite lucky on the pelvic floor, I get 10 pelvic re-education sessions with a physio after birth and I can tell you they make a hell of a difference, not only to the lack of weeing ones self but also to the other thing. IYKWIM Not the most pleasent of experiences but really worth it and at least you know you are doing the right thing.

Happy Dec everyone, Oh god now the countdown to Christmas really starts. Eeeeeek!!!! I love Christmas but it's just the getting there. ds gets two chocs, as Mum bought him a calenda and so did we, so he is very happy about that. I used to take the back off my calenda, eat all the chocs on the first day and then selotape the box back together. Naughty girl!!!!! Was good on day one but then very borig everyday after that. No patcience Me!

SKYTVADDICT · 01/12/2006 10:16

Morning all

Encouraging news charleymouse. Will be thinking of you on 18 December.

My DDs have advent calendars are their dads and as they only go every other weekend will be having a chocolate feast over the 4 days they will be there in December! They also have a chocolate one each at home and a one with pockets between them which I put something in every day. I sometimes put clues in as to where to find the the treat if is too big to fit in the pocket.

Thanks for the names link pebblemum - I will have a long look later. DP and I really can't agree. I like Lexxie (sp?) for a girl and don't really have any boys names yet! My DDs are called Libby and Freya and I am certain this one is also a girl. DP wants Tommy for a boy and I am really not sure so will keep hoping for a girl!

I cried all the way to work this morning coz i got stressed by traffic making me late for dropping kids off at my sisters hence making her late for work (she works at their school). I had to take them direct to school and then was crying so much I couldn't leave DD2 with a friend and had to ask DD1 to take her up as I was in such a state. DD2 had refused to get out of the car and wait with my friend and that was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak and it opened the flood gates. She was really shocked so I had a to give her a cuddle and say it wasn't her fault just mummy being pregant and hormones etc - all making me even later for work. I have just about calmed down now but have a headache and sore eyes!

largevirginbirthandtonic · 01/12/2006 10:22

They have arrived am opening box right now....

SKYTVADDICT · 01/12/2006 10:25

Hope you have a lovely quiet weekend with your KKs LG&T.

Help, I need a christmas name and my brain is a fog!

Looking at the names link I could have:-

Lexi - Greek meaning Glittering

Lexee - Greek meaning Defending men
Lexie - " " " "

Lexy - meaning Assistant

I think I like the glittering one.

thanks pebble - I bet I end up sitting on the sofa watching day time tv (jeremy kyle and co) and crying - everything on tv makes me cry at the moment.
hmm on second thoughts will wait till I have been shopping and bought some cheese muffins (not a sweet tooth person but make up for it in stodge..) Must also buy fruit so I can feel healthy. Mum just phoned and asked if we had any fruit in house (she's coming over for lunch tomorrow) I had to think hard and eventually said I though we had a couple of apples. Now feel v unhealthy and a bad mother because this means that ds doesn't have the option of wandering into the kitchen to snack on an apple (inmy dreams - all he wants is biscuits but I live in hope)

largevirginbirthandtonic · 01/12/2006 10:29

CHRISTMASTVADDICT?

Juicylucythe2nd · 01/12/2006 10:30

Very LV&T!! How will you find time to type while munching

SkyTV - Love Freya. DH poopoo'ed that name yesterday Git.

Have only got as far as the girls names in the book so far, but only Kathryn and Matilda are so far on the list so far. Middle name Elizabeth after my aunt.

twelvedaysofchristmas · 01/12/2006 10:31

Loving the new names, Pebble & G&T.

Poor you SkyTV. Some days are just woeful aren't they? Nip to the loo when you can and stick some cold pads of toilet paper on the eyes and try to cool them down.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 01/12/2006 10:33

JL my sister is called Kathryn, i love the name Matilda (see below in the thread)

Had forgotten just how good they are....

twelvedaysofchristmas · 01/12/2006 10:37

Anneme - re: crying at Jeremy Kyle. That is pretty bad. I usually cringe and have to turn it off as it's like watching a car crash.

SKYTVADDICT · 01/12/2006 10:39

I feel much better now after a packet of mini cookies and some prunes (having a bit of a problem so hoping these might help!)

Will probably wait until after the 20 week scan (a week today - I can't wait) to choose names properly. Does anyone know any other website links for names? DP doesn't like Lexi as his surname begins with L and he thinks it will sound silly.

largevirginbirthandtonic · 01/12/2006 10:41

THANKS SO MUCH 12DOC......it was all packaged sooo nicely too. I promise to return the tub filled with lemon drizzle cake. I have eaten 3 so far....9 to go....yipeeeeeee!!!

Frenchsmallfry · 01/12/2006 10:42

JL, Freya is a nice name. One of my Neices is Freya, I have 8 of them. My sisters stole all the names before I had a look in. They are;

Freya, Ella, Sarah, Rosie, Charlotte (lottie), Hannah, Fiona and Katie.

Well................................ were they worth the wait, lg&t and how's the teeth.

Pebble tried to add you to MSN but it bounced straight back saying invalid e-mail? I'll try again.

Frenchsmallfry · 01/12/2006 10:44

Sorry, ignor me, I'm well behind obviously. durrrrrrr!
You've already told how good they were

largevirginbirthandtonic · 01/12/2006 10:47

Teeth pretty bad unfortunately FSF the one on the other side is playing up too now. Luck for me donuts are soft so ideal food

I put you on my msn last night FSF but it said something about sending you an email? Have no idea why and wouldnt put you on my list. I have Creena and Pebble registered fine though.

Juicylucythe2nd · 01/12/2006 10:50

Very at all this MSNing. Can't use it at work and haven't set it up at home. Will maybe attempt it this weekend.

Have been trying to come up with a christmas name and all I can think of is JuicyJesusthe2nd. Don't think that's appropriate

twelvedaysofchristmas · 01/12/2006 10:52

You're most welcome. Don't mean to piss on your parade, but I think I only fit 10 in the box, so you might only have 7 left to go, not 9...

Very much looking forward to Lemon Drizzle Cake. I liked the sound of the recipe, I will def make it after I give up work.

Currently, am so tired having got up at 5.30, in work for 7, home at 6 that last night I had crackers and cheese for dinner. Sad individual. (DD had dinner elsewhere last night in case any of you think I don't feed her! )
