If you find a dress you want but if pricey, check ebay. A lot of people buy a nice dress for a wedding and only wear it once so lots of good quality things available. I got an Isabella Oliver black tie dress for £20, think it's over £100 new

hotcrossbun83 · 23/08/2015 18:33

Sorry to hear your news lily

AlohaMama · 23/08/2015 18:36

Just found you, i thought everyone was just having a quiet sunday and thats why no one had poated!

melon have you looked on ebay?

Pugmumlondon · 23/08/2015 19:22

Can't keep up!!

Rewriting post!

Have added friend as per instructions. I'm a bit nervous about using fb for this as I haven't (and don't really intend to) put anything about my pregnancy on fb. But will see how we go!

Super anxious about work tomorrow as contract situation hasn't been resolved yet and I fear it still may ten nasty. Going to have to speak to my boss about it again tomorrow.

In happier news, we bought our first baby clothes yesterday! Feel so behind all of you guys though - we have literally bought the nursing chair and some baby grows! Haha.

Scan in less than 2 weeks. Are people going 'public' with the sex if you find out or keeping it a secret?

Romeolovesjuliet · 23/08/2015 19:57

Hi ladies, had a bit of a break while 'hackergate' died down - feel like I've missed lots. Congrats on all the happy scan news and sorry to those of you who are having a tough time at the moment.
Can't believe how much so many of you have already done/bought. We went to look at cars today, that's the only baby related thing we have done so far and we are not even close to reaching a decision let alone making the purchase!
We've just had a wedding sprung upon us - end of October. I will be searching eBay for something. I love Tiffany rose dresses and you can pick them up reasonably - last time I resold mine for the same I'd paid (wish I'd bloody kept it now!).
Had an awful day yesterday - went to visit family and DD fell and gashed open her forehead. Had to take her to hospital to have it glued. She's fine but it is nasty and very deep so will definitely scar. It really shook me up!
I'm undecided about the fb group - I do prefer the anonymity of MN but will probably give into the temptation, plus my group from DS moved over and is
Still going 2 years on and is lovely.

lilyb84 · 23/08/2015 19:59

As far as I know it's totally secret, pug, so there's no danger of your news leaking to your friends and family. frozen's signed off for the night so you might not get added until tomorrow Smile

I was going to ask exactly the same question about announcing the sex for those who are finding out! DH has decided we should keep it private despite him being the one who told all and sundry our news in the first place but if we do find out I don't know how we'd manage to keep it to ourselves. For a start, it's the one question that EVER SINGLE person has asked me when they've found out I'm expecting...

Just making a nice homemade curry now DH is back from work and band practise. Can finally relax! Smile

Blackandwhitecat3 · 23/08/2015 20:08

Melon I have two JoJo dresses, they're lovely and really flatter my little bump. There were loads of cocktail maternity dresses in the ASOS sale online, as I skimmed past them...

MissSMartin · 23/08/2015 20:27

I keep getting annoying AF type cramps and they are spreading down my legs.. very disconcerting Sad I'm sure it's everything streching.. but I feel on the verge of af starting Confused

one week left of work now and then I have 16 days off, can't wait Grin .. can't believe I've been back 2 weeks already!

pug I believe it's all private so what you post in the group only the group see's? I may be wrong though Hmm

lilyb84 · 23/08/2015 20:42

So sorry to hear about your DD's accident romeo - that must have been so scary for her and you. I hope it heals quickly and doesn't scar too badly.

MissSMartin · 23/08/2015 20:46

Oh romeo so sorry I missed that part of your post! Aww bless her.. hope she's okay x

Pugmumlondon · 23/08/2015 20:49

Thanks all. Have joined the fb one so will see how long I can manage both!

Lily - I'm also tempted to keep it a secret. Everything else is so public this feels like something that can be just ours. But will see!!

Romeo - such a scare hope she is ok xx

kep1979 · 23/08/2015 21:15

I lost us for a bit! Panic over now Smile Just won a sleepyhead on eBay, my baby stash is growing! And bidding on a snuzpod too. Dh is going to get a shock lol

Yokyil · 23/08/2015 21:20

Been AWOL after the whole hacking debacle - had no patience to keep logging in!
Hope everyone's feeling okay this evening - back to work tomorrow after a week off Sad spent hours walking round the shops yesterday & have had the worst calf cramp all day today that just won't shift!
Angry hormones kicking in yesterday & today where I'd no patience for silly people Angry anyone else?
miss I'm the same -my low cramping has eased slightly but will still come and go...can be quite scary. Am still beating myself up about unknowingly having a small bit of goats cheese 2 weeks ago Sad

Nightfall1983 · 23/08/2015 21:29

Did you guys now that the Due in December crew are only on thread 4? Grin

BeeMyBaby · 23/08/2015 21:33

not got much to say, just marking my place...

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 23/08/2015 21:46

Nightfall Really?! How can they have so little to talk about? Ha!

Romeo Hope your little one is ok, sounds painful!

hotcrossbun83 · 23/08/2015 21:52

How scary romeo, glad she's ok. If it scars it'll be a good story to tell her friends, bet she'll be proud of it

MissSMartin · 23/08/2015 22:07

we're obz chatter boxes!! Grin

coffeenut · 23/08/2015 23:36

How scary romeo. I'm glad she's okay but what an awful shock for you. I'm sure the scar will fade down to nothing in time. DD1 has a little silver zigzag on her forehead from a bad fall (along with half her friends it seems!) - I was sure it would be an awful scar but it's barely noticeable now.

Glad some of us are hanging around here. I've caught up on the pages I missed in the old thread but can't remember everything I wanted to post!

Those of u having calf cramps, try taking a daily calcium/magnesium supplement, they are brilliant for this, should get rid of them completely.

So exciting, have been feeling kicks/prods at two different points on my bump at the same time! Baby is stretching out and getting bigger that's for sure.

Whoever mentioned gouda, glad she's on another thread and doing ok! Would like to know about fourlegs too - was she the one with the pataus scare?

I need to go and start checking out the baby names threads.

yokyil honestly don't worry about it - if you didn't get sick over that period then I'm sure you and baby will be fine.

Chip86 · 24/08/2015 01:22

romeo that sounds awful hope it heals quickly and hope you had a good sugary drink for the shock
Hope everyone has a good week.

MaybeMrsMum2016 · 24/08/2015 06:18

Had an awful night's sleep! Was taking me ages to drop off, when DH started snoring and making a nasal whistling noise, aaargh! Angry Eventually he stopped so I got some sleep, but then he got up to go to the toilet!

Now I've got to go to work, noooooooo! Sad

kep1979 · 24/08/2015 06:58

Anyone else suffering with heartburn? I am now waking up with it Hmm Last time I guzzled gaviscon, are we still allowed that? It has anyone got any better suggestions.... I don't like milk (apart from on weetabix)!

Romeolovesjuliet · 24/08/2015 07:31

Thanks everyone. She seems fine, I'm just paranoid she's going to bump it again before it has chance to heal - she's a clumsy little thing bless her! kep gaviscon is fine as far as I know - you can usually get it on prescription.
Having a real headache with cars and cars seats. There is no one website that matches car seats and cars and no definitive list of which cars fit three across the back. I think our best option is just going to be taking the seats with us when we look at cars.

lilyb84 · 24/08/2015 07:55

Oh no maybemrs, and on a Monday morning too! I had a bad night but it was thanks to a horrible dream - one of those end-of-the-world, doom and gloom and monsters type ones. Woke up at god knows what time with my heart racing, completely terrified Shock

Thanks for the cramps tip coffee (hope it was you but am on the app and can't remember!).

AlohaMama · 24/08/2015 07:58

kep I had it badly for about 3 weeks last pregnancy and this pregnancy and then it just disappeared. I think gaviscon is fine, sleep sitting upright if poss. You just have to work out what sets it off for you - I found drinking a big glass of water was bad, especially if it was cold. I couldnt' really work it out though and it was grim - you have my sympathies. According to my MIL the gaviscon advanced liquid is the only one that really works.

romeo we've done research but not looked in person yet. I did find some websites that listed some cars that had 3 isofix points, but there were a suprising number of large 'family' cars that only had 2 isofix points. Other cars you can squeeze three seats in by using combo of isofix and seatbelt but my worry was that with the booster seats even if you squished them in it would be hard to actually reach the seatbelt plug to strap the car in. We're focusing on 7-seaters as they seem to have 3 proper seats on the middle row that are more likely to fit car seats in and usually teh back seats can be folded down anyway. Plus it would be useful when we have grandparents to stay or giving rides to kids friends to have the extra seats.
