Don't worry, usually don't book til 8 weeks, scan 12-14 weeks. You have plenty of time.

Can I join?

Feeling very worried. I tested positive with a CB digital last week on the day my period was due. It said 2-3 weeks pregnant. Would make due date 12 May.

TMI alert. I've been having minimal brownish/lightish discharge since sun eve. Yesterday I wore a pad all day and had three tiny little brown spots by the end of the day. Nothing overnight, but one more spot half the size of a penny just now.

I know there's nothing to do really except wait and see, but feeling v downhearted. Should I test again?

ODog · 08/09/2015 10:00

Hi maud, it may be implantation bleeding, i think it can take a while to work its way out and brown indicates that it is old blood so it would make sense.

I like to test again to see if the lines get stronger/cb digi goes up to 3+, so maybe do that if it helps put your mind at rest.

Fx it's nothing to worry about.

MaudGonneMad · 08/09/2015 11:00

Tested with a cheapie test, and this is what I got.

Not sure if that line is too light? I'm 4+5 today. That wasn't with FMU though, just after a cup of tea.

ODog · 08/09/2015 11:07

It looks pretty strong to me. How is it compared to your previous tests?

MaudGonneMad · 08/09/2015 11:10

Thanks ODog.

I used a CB digital test the last time so can't really compare. I might test with another CB in a week's time or with another one of these in a few days.

Are the lines supposed to get darker day by day?

If you haven't guessed, I tend to be quite anxious! My poor DH...

ODog · 08/09/2015 11:33

I think if the lines get stronger, it's an indication that your hormone levels are increasing and the pregnancy is progressing. But obviously it's not fool proof and someone else may be along soon who knows more. But I have found that watching the line get stronger has put my mind at rest a little.

Seeyalater · 08/09/2015 12:57

That's a good strong line for this early on maud, I'd be really pleased with that! Also, don't worry about the brown stuff, I've had that too and it's implantation i think.

That's for the reassurance! I'll try and relax now and count down the days until 24th sept!

Speckledfrog · 09/09/2015 12:47

Hello! I got a positive test result 2 weeks ago now- which puts me on 8th may. I'm just feeling so hot and sweaty- but really excited!

ODog · 09/09/2015 13:39

Welcome speckled. I kept coming over really hot this morning too. I didn't think of that being a symptom! Anyone on here a baby wearer and looking to continue wearing in pregnancy?

Brenna24 · 09/09/2015 15:44

Hi and welcome Speckled. I have been hot and sweaty for 4 weeks now and am due on the 7th May. Isn't it a joy.

1st sign of morning sickness here. 10-10.30, 12-12.30 and a wee bit again just now. 1st bout was quashed by toast, the second by a baked potato for lunch. Apparently carbs every 2 hours for me for just now. This is going to make Friday's 6am flight a really joy for me and everyone around me Sad Oh well.

Greyhorses · 09/09/2015 20:02

Does anyone else not feel pregnant? I am 5w and the only symptom I have is slightly sore boobs (which I always get around AF) and cramping. Other than that I have nothing, I feel normal?

I have spent the past 2 days worried sick that I am going to miscarry and checking every time I go to the toilet. I read some scary statistics and now wish I had not come across them as I can't sleep and am worried sick that I will loose the pregnancy which I know is quite irrational Hmm I think I thought because I am younger the chance is low but it seems that isn't the case at all and we have tried for this baby for so long.

Has anyone thought about an early scan? I have the option of paying for one at 9w with a private company to try and reassure me until 12w but not sure if it's a waste of money...

Daphnedolittle · 09/09/2015 20:13

Greyhorses - I'm worried sick too and have been looking into early scans.
The conclusion I have come to is that if im going to miscarry I will miscarry whether I have the early scan or not. Instead of having the fear before the 12 week scan you will have the fear before both scans as just because you have a healthy scan at 9 weeks doesnt mean the 12 week one will definitely be ok. Personally if I saw a healthy baby at 9 weeks and lost it before 12 I would be even more devastated as I would feel more attached.
I have therefore decided to wait, but I'm sure other people have different views on it so it all depends what's right for you.

Just remember the chances are hugely in your favour that you will be absolutely fine and have a perfectly healthy pregnancy and baby.Smile

StormTr00per · 09/09/2015 20:15

ODog I am a baby wearer.. been wondering about how to manage it when the bump starts to appear though - any thoughts? (I have a tula)

I've been getting very hot at night, and my skin has been itching like mad.. argh! Bought some cooling aveeno, hopefully that will help. And peeing loads too..

Greyhorses I would probably just wait until the 12 week scan if you can, but I understand how nerve wracking it is. Avoid Dr Google like the plague..

Greyhorses · 09/09/2015 20:20

Hi Daphne, thank you so much it's nice to hear I am not alone! DP thinks I am crazy and all will be fine but I have googled which is a big mistake and read some really sad statistics and stories which I wish I could erase from my brain! I have been checking for bleeding every single time I go for a wee and I know I need to just calm down Hmm

I think I would feel better if I was vomiting as at least I would know something was different!

DP would also like to wait until the 12w scan to save money so maybe I will go with this plan, although 7 weeks away seems such a long time...

Greyhorses · 09/09/2015 20:21

Sorry storm cross posted! Too late, I googled and also clicked on a thread about mc on aibu which triggered the panic, before that I was very excited ConfusedBlush

Daphnedolittle · 09/09/2015 20:28

The stats I looked into basically said you have a 4 in 5 chance of a healthy pregnancy if you are under 35. Think of it as an 80% chance which is pretty high! Smile I know it's still so scary though!
Don't whatever you do go on the miscarriage/pregnancy loss board that I ended up looking on! Blush

Greyhorses · 09/09/2015 20:35

That sounds much better than what I read daphne, thanks! Grin

I think it's made more scary as we are both so excited. I have had to tell work (dangerous job) and we told our parents as one set guessed and I now wish I hadn't told anyone at all in a way as it is so early.

I opened a thread about people celebrating pregnancy too early and then mc and it made me feel sick with worry, I think that's what started it!

I suppose what will be will be but I will try and be positive and enjoy it Smile

Wait4nothing · 09/09/2015 20:41

1st actual vomiting - the chillie (my favourite tea) which is been waiting for for 2 hours (dh cooked it). Now desparate for ready salted crisps! Hubby says my five a day don't count if I throw them up (always sympathetic!)

Daphnedolittle · 09/09/2015 21:03

The reason stats look so bad is because nearly half of all pregnancys end in miscarriage before you even know you are pregnant. Once you get to 5 weeks it's about 1 in 5. Not that I've looked into this obsessively Blush
I have also told both parents and work as Ive pulled out of a promotion and had to explain myself. It makes you feel really vulnerable doesn't it? Not nice having people I'm not close to know so early.

Wait4nothing - sorry to hear about the vomming. I felt too sick to eat lunch (partly cause I have a cold too) so just had rice krispies as an afternoon snack. My DH was like 'rice krispies???' Is that what you are feeding our growing bean?? Grin

ODog · 09/09/2015 21:21

grey - I'm not sure how old you are but I am under 30 (almost 28) and I'm pretty sure the miscarriage rate for healthy women under 30 is like 1 in 10 so you have a 90% chance of a healthy, happy outcome. I agree with daphne about early scans. I was also doing much knicker checking in my first pg but I feel much more relaxed this time round. I think because DS will be my priority until this one is born.

So pleased to have a fellow slinger storm. Iirc you will have a small gap so presume you will want to tandem carry too. My DS will be not quite 2 when this one is born so I'm pretty sure I'll be tandem carrying.

I currently use a connecta so similar to a Tula and a RS. I think a woven might be more flexible with a bump but I've always shied away as they look a bit complicated and scary. I'm guessing your LO is too little for a back carry yet so maybe start getting used to that. A friends sister posted on FB her carrying her 15mo nephew in a beco in a back carry at 25weeks so guessing it is possible with a SSC. I just can't wait to buy some new slings for the new baby. Especially as I'm hoping to cope with. Combo of buggy, buggy board, assortment of slings for toddler/newborn in an attempt to avoid double buggy hell.

ODog · 09/09/2015 21:42

Just read that back. Miscarriage rates for people over 30 are also super low. Hope no one took offence to that. Blush

TodmordensDog · 09/09/2015 23:12

Hello all, Recently got my BFP, this will be dc2 and I make my due date 14th May although my cycles are a little up and down! Think that makes me 4+4 :)

Greyhorses · 10/09/2015 06:22

Odog- I am 24 so in the under 30 bracket. I have woken up this morning and my sore boobs have gone, still no other symptoms!

Wait4- hope you feel better soon!

God- congrats!!!
