God Hmm

I meant Tod- bloody autocorrect!

StormTr00per · 10/09/2015 07:37

Yeah I'm hoping sling plus buggy to avoid having to buy a double buggy.. I've also seen the easy rider buggy board which has a seat and looks like a good option! Will also have to try a back carry, but yes he's still too wee at the moment x

ODog · 10/09/2015 10:19

It should work out well then storm that by the time your bump is too big for a front carry he should be big enough for a back carry. I'm not sure what the recommendation is but I'm pretty sure it's much easier if they can sit up.

PearlyFish · 10/09/2015 10:33

Welcome to all new joiners!

Sending reassuring thoughts to everyone. I was very preoccupied with the possibility of miscarriage in my first pregnancy, but feeling a lot calmer this time around.

Symptom-wise I do still feel normal a lot of the time. My boobs are definitely bigger and there's a bit of hyper-salivation going on (eew!), and a bit of mild nausea. I'm close to 6 weeks now so still waiting to see if anything worse will kick in!

I remember episodes of getting really hot and sweaty in my first pregnancy - including one morning when I was nearly late for work because I was too sweaty to be able to do my hair or get my make-up on (attractive!) However this time around I seem to be freezing cold all the time, brrrr!

Midwife appt booked for 9 weeks, which seems ages away, but will come round quick enough I'm sure.

We've told immediate family but no-one else so far. Won't tell work until after 12 weeks as there aren't really any hazards in my job.

Hope everyone is well and coping ok with morning sickness etc

BeckleinDisguise · 10/09/2015 11:00

Hello everyone, just sneaking in quietly as its so good to hear from other PG ladies. I got a very surprise BFP at the weekend, I think I'm due 10th May so I'm 5+2 judging from my last AF. I've got huge sore boobs and have been a bit restless/sweaty at night but no other symptoms other than a few twinges I'm putting down to stretching.

This will be my 4th and my other DCs are all older, DH is currently not very happy and I'm not really believing it, very worried about MC as although unplanned this baby is not unwanted, not by me anyhow!

I've not told any friends or family yet but I've told my boss at work so I don't have to do any lifting, the official story is that my hernia is playing up! Booking in is done at 9 or so weeks here although I have blood tests in a week or so to check thyroid function (I only have half a thyroid) to see if I need thyroxine. I'm currently just trying to use these milestones as stepping stones to reach the place where I won't worry so much!

Sorry for the essay! Congratulations to everyone and hugs to those who've had to leave the thread already.

Greyhorses - try not to worry, symptoms do come and go as the hormone levels fluctuate

Bluepigoon · 10/09/2015 11:42

Greyhorses, I don't feel pregnant either and I'm 6+3 (i kept expecting the nausea to kick in at 6 weeks but nothing yet). I'm hoping it's not a bad sign, but from a bit of googling it looks like symptoms aren't necessarily an indicator of whether or not the pregnancy will work out.

I've got a midwife appointment booked for the 21st so hopefully she'll be able to put my mind at rest a bit then. I think when it's your first pregnancy it's so hard to believe that you're actually going to have a baby, you convince yourself that something's definitely going to go wrong.

I'm hoping I get some symptoms soon for a bit of reassurance, but I'm not sure I'll ever actually stop worrying!

Southy84 · 10/09/2015 13:50

Hi everyone mind if I join you? I got my bfp 2 days ago just under a week after being told we could go for ivf. Feeling very shocked and nervous! My edd is 17/05. I will read back and try to get to know you all x

evs34 · 10/09/2015 17:04

Hi all. Can I join? 4plus 3 so super early. Edd 15/5. Have a 6 and 4 yr old. I'm 38 and feeling very old! Way more scared this time as it all seems to be doom and gloom when your over 35. Feeling v dizzy and short of breath today. Odd. Really nice reading posts from you all as it is quite reassuring and good to not feel so alone!

Southy84 · 10/09/2015 17:34

Hi evs you aren't old, I can understand why you're worried, but I'm sure everything will be ok, I don't know much about stats (I'm too scared to read anything) im 4 plus 5 but have about 30 day cycles so it puts my due date just behind you, it's nice to have someone so close in dates :)

Blil3 · 10/09/2015 18:12

Congratulations to all new joiners! I'm still amazed by how tired I feel after a day in work! Still feeling a bit nauseous and cramps but hoping it's all normal. I'm 6+1 now. Not seeing midwife until 24th and that's a group meeting then we get date for our 1:1 which seems bizarre. Still doesn't feel real, had to tell one manager at work (due to a patient with shingles) and think I may tell parents tomorrow, sounds ridiculous but I don't want to jinx anything by telling people!!
I agree evs34, it's great on here for a bit of support and reassurance.
Beckle- my DH is still in denial and still not sure how he feels, and as it'll be our first I'm hoping he'll be excited soon enough.

ODog · 10/09/2015 19:11

Welcome newcomers. Sorry to hear about under-whelmed DHs. I'm sure they will get more enthusiasm as things progress. I'm shattered today. DS up at 5.30am then we had his swimming lessons (can't wait until he can go in on his own!) and then my friend came over with her toddler. Luckily DS was shattered too and was in bed before 7pm!

Starryeyed1001 · 10/09/2015 20:51

Midwife called tonight...first appt 2 weeks today!! x

Southy84 · 11/09/2015 06:12

Hi blil odog & starry that's fab you have your midwife app starry, how exciting. I saw my Dr last night (he offered to see me before I go on holiday on sat) and he was lovely, he's sending me for blood tests to check everything's ok, he also said he'd refer me to a consultant due to our length of ttc and previous mmc, I almost feel bad for having this much attention. He also said to phone our fertility clinic to ask if they will offer a early scan.

I'm waking up bang on 5:30 every morning at the moment :( needing the toilet/nausea and I can never get back to sleep! So frustrating. Anyone else having this problem?

odog were you on the September buses? I think I remember your name, I was straddling buses for a while probably a couple of months ago but couldn't keep up so ended up sticking with just one in the end

Daphnedolittle · 11/09/2015 06:53

Southy I'm the same with sleep. It's becoming a real struggle. Toss and turn all night and wake and can't sleep. I'm now awake but too nauseous to shower and I need to get ready. Really struggling at the moment with keeping up with work. Haven't actually been sick but just have this horrible feeling, it's like every day I have a hangover, which is ironic seeing as I miss my glasses of wine!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 11/09/2015 07:50

Hi everyone! Please may I join?!

I can't quite believe I'm pregnant! Is this real life?

Had my first faint BFP a couple of days ago and took a Clear Blue digi this morning to see it in black and white! According to last period date, I'm 4+5 today and Digi test says I'm 1-2 weeks post-conception. So it's still very early days but I'm super excited. This is our first.

Annoyingly, I'm off on a hen do tomorrow and I have no idea how to conceal pregnancy. I'm going to have to be very sneaky I think! A spa day plus a night out drinking - every pregnant woman's nemesis!

Southy84 · 11/09/2015 08:26

Yes that's what I'm like daphne how far along are you? Congrats toffee I feel for you, that's my worst nightmare! Can you say you are on antibiotics? Lame excuse I know... I suppose it depends how suspicious the people you will be with are

99percentchocolate · 11/09/2015 08:46

Hello, jumping on the May bus too. I should be about 4 + 3, so a bit early but my line was pretty strong so taking my seat here.
Congratulations to everyone and lots of love to those we've lost.
This will be my second - DD is 3.5 so will be 4 and a bit when this one arrives. Had dinner with my family last night and had to invent a sore throat as an explanation for why I couldn't drink the bottle of prosecco that was right in front me all night.
Cousin and husband were there too, they've been TTC for a while now so a bit worried about telling them. I'm sure they'll be ok but don't want it thrust in their faces. Aunt is desperate for a grandchild though so I think that no matter how discreet I am it'll still be held over them by others Sad
So far only DP, mum and best friend know. Mum just looked at me and knew yesterday - I was impressed!
I have a GP appointment today because I had a very difficult pregnancy last time - was in bed with Hyperemesis from 6-16 weeks so hoping I can get some cyclizine today to prevent it getting too bad this time. Fingers crossed.
Last time I wasn't working during my pregnancy so I had lots of time to rest, this time I have two jobs and have just launched a business! Not really sure what to do about that as May-September is busy season. Experience says I'll probably need two months off to recover.
Looking forward to getting to know you all - these buses are great, I'm still in contact with my last bus and we recently had a joint third birthday party for our bus babies.

HettySunshine · 11/09/2015 08:54

Three bfp confirm dc2 will be joining us around 21 May. Eeeppp!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 11/09/2015 09:30

Thanks Southy - yeah, to be honest I don't know very many people at the hen do so I doubt anyone will really care and notice anything different. I know the hen really well but I'm hoping she'll just be so excited and happy and enjoying all the wonderful hen-do attention that I won't even register. I've been to a hen do before and didn't drink and no one suspected anything so I'm trying not to get too paranoid.

I am however meeting my best friend and her 7 week old baby for lunch today! She's the ONLY person I told that we were TTC and I've got a funny feeling she'll suss it. Mainly because of noticeably increased boobage (!!!!) and I have a feeling holding a baby will make me very emotional!

Hello 99% and Hetty! Congratulations! Exciting that it's DC2 for both of you. Amazing that you're Mum knew so quickly, 99%! My Dad has a proven track history of knowing immediately when someone is pregnant so I'm sure he'll figure it out soon enough...

99percentchocolate · 11/09/2015 10:01

Congratulations Hetty! How old is dc1? How are you feeling?

Toffee - will you tell him if he guesses? And yy to the boobahe - caught someone staring yesterday and felt like telling him that they weren't real but I didn't want to see the disappointment on his face Wink

First dry heave when brushing my teeth today - definitely pregnant! punches sky

TodmordensDog · 11/09/2015 10:45

Yay for all these May babies!

Did my 3rd poas this morning and it's really clear, but I'm still struggling to take it in. I think it's just the fact I'm so shocked still but I'm really nervous this time around.

Excited to tell our parents tomorrow though- I know it's twee but I think I'm going to get ds1 a top with some kind of big brother slogan on it! Any other better ideas?!

ODog · 11/09/2015 10:49

Welcome new joiners. Yea southy I was on the September conception bus and I recognise toffee from that bus too. Lovely that there seems to be quite a few graduates.

I find soda and lime just looks like vodka/soda/lime or tonic without the gin. Tbh I was/am rubbish at keeping it secret and if people ask/guess I just tell them. Although I can understand if you have had losses previously being more cautious. Fx we all have healthy babies in 8/9months time.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 11/09/2015 11:10

Oh wow 99%... who knew you could get so excited for a dry heave? I've been feeling a little nauseous but no heaving here yet. Usually get nauseous in the afternoon but then I'm not sure if I'm just imagining it or being super-aware of what's going on with my body.

Don't know what I'll do if anyone guesses... I hate lying and I'd always said I wouldn't tell anyone before 12 weeks but now that's it's happened, I'm desperate to share the news! Lol. If my Dad does guess, I don't think he'll say anything. I reckon he'll wait until I say something. But then - I have no idea, never been in this situation before!

Tod - sounds lovely with the t-shirt! A friend of mine did that recently to announce their second pregnancy at a family gathering. I think it's quite sweet! GOOD LUCK and have fun breaking the news.

Who is telling who, what and when? I said to DH that I'd quite like to tell SOMEONE early just because I know if - heaven forbid - anything does go wrong, I'd like to have someone to talk to about it but I don't think I trust the one friend I naturally want to tell not to tell others! We'll see...

Hi ODog! Yes, few of us from the September bus and hopefully a few more will join. FINGERS CROSSED. I literally almost cried in the office at 'hopefully we'll all have healthy babies in 8/9 months time'. So hormonal!

BeckleinDisguise · 11/09/2015 12:15

Hi to all new joiners today! Congratulations on your BFPs and I second ODog's comment about healthy babies in 8/9 months, fingers crossed for all of us.

Southy, its very reassuring if they'll do an early scan, I managed to get one (with a bit of a fight) when pg with DD (7) but as I haven't had 3 consecutive mmc they won't do it this time. Even though I have had 3 mmc. Daft. They are also very reluctant to place you under consultant led care here but I will certainly be pushing for it when I have my booking in apt as I had lots of things needing extra care when expecting DD and now I also may need support for my half-thyroid.

Evs34, I'm also 38 and feeling old! I have dizziness today too, I didn't have breakfast until 9.30 and thought that may be it but I'm still lightheaded now so maybe not.

Blil3, I'm sure your DH will get used to it, mine took a while even with our other children which were definitely planned. It may take more time with this one as all he can see at the moment are the things which will be more difficult rather than the blessing that this little life is.

Toffee, I'm with you on the boobs! Mine expanded so much about 3 weeks ago (before I suspected I was pg) that I bought a size up of bra, now I'm coming out of that a little, and they wobble (I am usually very small of boob), and they bloody hurt if I walk fast! I've got a boozy night at my friend's house next weekend and I think I may find that I've had a migraine and therefore am on Anadin Extra... not sure it'll fool them but I think the more fuss you make about the fact you're not drinking, the more likely people are to be suspicious. I'm just hoping they don't notice my boobs as if they ask me outright I'm a crappy liar!

Still waiting for nausea but even when I get it badly it doesn't usually start until 6 weeks, with my boys I didn't get it until 9, trying not to worry...

Bejeena · 11/09/2015 12:52

Welcome and congratulations to all the newcomers Smile

I have just had a scan confirming the pregnancy and we have a baby with a heartbeat which we didn't get last time I am quite relieved at the moment. It is normal procedure here to scan at this stage and I am so surprised that those who like me had mmc previously don't get a scan on the NHS.

I am 6+3 and due on 3rd May. Finally I can get excited about this pregnancy
