Phoned hospital today and have my scan booked for the 26th October, which happens to be our anniversary! will be 12+5. Let the waiting commence!!

Good luck at your scan blue!

BeckleinDisguise · 24/09/2015 18:26

Thank you everyone, I am praying too but not feeling great. Boobs don't feel as full and HCG result came back as higher than they would expect for the size of sac they saw today so brought the next scan forward if I need it (depending on bloods Saturday). I know little miracles do happen so am keeping a little bit of hope.

Good luck blue with your scan tonight!

Mamama31 · 24/09/2015 18:47

Awh Beckle the waiting is horrific for you. Miracles do happen, and I hope yours will be one of them!

Brenna24 · 24/09/2015 19:28

Everything crossed for you Beckle.

Blimey, there is a lot of chat since I went away. Italy was amazing as ever. The In-Laws were very excited and MIL had saved all the clothes she made for my DH when he was a tiny baby and has given them to us for this little one. That nearly made me cry. The second wedding went really well but I got a bit carried away that night and we DTD which resulted in a small bleed. Then on the wednesday I bled a bit more with a couple of clots in. At that point I got worried and went to the local hospital. They were great, whisked me straight in and did a scan on the spot. It was such a relief to see a heartbeat. They prescribed me both Tranexamic acid and progesterone pessaries which caused a major family debate as to whether or not I should be taking them. I must admit I was a bit dubious about the tranexamic acid. I phoned my midwife (so glad I booked in before we left) and they said not to. No more fresh blood since, just some of the brown old stuff they warned me I wold see. We got back on monday and my midwife sent me for a scan when I went in on tuesday to get my 8 week bloods done. That scan was on wednesday and also looked good and the baby was huge compared to last week. Heartbeat still visible and no bleeding visible inside. I reckoned I was 7+6 and the baby measured exactly that, so that is a great sign. I am so relieved and feel very guilty. No sex for me for a very long time to come.

On the plus side I really like my midwife. She listens to me and is very sympathetic and they were so nice when I phoned from abroad.

Mamama31 · 24/09/2015 19:32

Brenna what a scare but that's great that everything looks good now! And you are well looked after by your midwife. Hoping it all settles down for you now. You can join me with the sex ban!!! Yay! Haha!

Daphnedolittle · 24/09/2015 19:35

Glad everything is ok brenna that must have been such a worry!

By the way ive been given a booking in appointment and a scan appointment at 2 different hospitals, is that normal??
I thought most people have one midwife throughout? Would I meet her at the booking in or the scan? Bit confused!

GrouchyKiwi · 24/09/2015 19:46

Daphne: you might have a different midwife for the booking appointment (that's apparently how it works in my area) and then your dedicated midwife for appointments after that. Midwife wouldn't usually be at the scan.

Daphnedolittle · 24/09/2015 19:48

Ah ok thanks grouchy good to have some experience on this thread for us newbies Smile

MollieRos · 24/09/2015 20:23

So sorry to hear that Beckle, I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your way. Make sure you take care of yourself. And Blue I hope you have a good outcome from your scan this evening. Brenna- sounds really stressful, you must be so relieved everything is ok.

Having not felt any kind of symptoms at all so far, today I've been getting horrible waves of nausea this afternoon. Strangely reassuring in a way (who'd've thought I'd be happy to feel sick!), but obviously not much fun at the same time. It might just be that I was feeling a bit ropey today, but it's strange to think it might be pregnancy related sickness, and I have no way of knowing how long it'l last or how bad it'll be!

Bluepigoon · 24/09/2015 20:40

Hi all, just got back from my scan and saw a bean with a good strong heartbeat :) I'm so relieved! Thank you for all the good luck wishes, going to have a lie down now!

StormTr00per · 24/09/2015 20:41

Nausea here seems to come and go. . I'm ok as long as I stuff my face with toast and chocolate digestives Grin the insomnia is killing me tho.. thankfully DH was off work yesterday so I got a mid day nap.. Bliss!

blue hope all is well with your scan this evening.

I've finally self referred to the midwife, just need to wait for scan date letter in a couple of weeks. Argh I've no patience!

Mamama31 · 24/09/2015 20:55

Blue I'm glad to hear all is well for you.

I've just had a tiny bit of spotting, burst in to tears as this is how my mc started in April. So upset and scared. At least I have the early scan booked for Monday so not long to go. Can't help but feel it's all going to go the same way as last time- so upset :(

MollieRos · 24/09/2015 21:14

Oh no mama, how scary for you. Fingers crossed for you, and I really hope the scan on Monday gives you good news. Do you have anything on over the weekend to help distract you till then? Flowers

Blue- great news, I'm really pleased for you Smile

ODog · 24/09/2015 21:21

Gosh sounds like lots of you are having scares. Please try not to panic (although easier said than done). This thread has proven how many people have bleeds that mean nothing.

Mamama31 · 24/09/2015 21:44

Mollie I'm not going to work tomorrow so have cancelled wkend plans, won't be able to function until Monday anyway. So it's a wkend of wallowing for me- sorry to sound so negative but I just feel this is all over....again. Gutted :(

ljjeffro · 24/09/2015 21:51

I hope everyones scan go well. I managed to book a private scan this afternoon for Oct 10th when I'll be 7wks. I didn't want to wait to see if I'd get the one that the doctor requested for me. I have felt fine about the pregnancy so far even though I haven't really had any symptoms. Now I've booked it, I've literally all of a sudden while sitting here watching the TV, had a complete melt down completely out of the blue. Now I feel really anxious about it and I'm thinking of just cancelling it and waiting till the 12wk scan. The only reason I'm thinking not to is because it was at the 12wk scan that I found out about my mc that happened at 7wks, so I know I'll be just as anxious then or worse.

29redshoes · 24/09/2015 21:55

Beckle I'm sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself.

Blue that's fantastic news!

Mama, try not to panic, as ODog says there have been lots of ladies on this thread who have had bleeding but still had good scan results. I can completely relate to how you're feeling. My last pregnancy ended in miscarriage too so when I saw blood this time I was so upset. Is it worth calling in the morning to see if they can squeeze you in for an early scan tomorrow instead? At least that way you won't feel like you're in limbo over the weekend.

Brenna that all sounds very eventful, glad all is ok! Are you Italian too, or is it just your DH? If you're not a native I'm very impressed at you doing all of that in Italian! I speak a couple of other languages but have never been good at medical stuff.

I really feel that my own experiences over the past few weeks, together with this thread, have been quite enlightening. I never realised that early pregnancy was such a rollercoaster!! It's amazing. I feel like more people should know how eventful and stressful can be!

Daphnedolittle · 24/09/2015 22:09

mama so sorry to hear that SadHope you are ok. Try to stay positive, like others have said, bleeding doesnt necessarily mean miscarriage. I'll be thinking of you.
So many of you are having such a hard time, really feel for you all. Keeping all my fingers crossed for positive results.
Good to hear about your scan blue

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 24/09/2015 22:28

Hope everything will be ok - I had bright red bleeding earlier this week which I was sure was a mc as it was like a period but it wasn't. Fingers crossed for youFlowers

Brenna24 · 24/09/2015 22:32

Mama, hang in there. Mine was fine and everybody i have spoken to since bar one woman have said they had bleeding and it was fine. Fingers crossed you are the same.

Redshoes I'm not Italian, I'm Scottish. I understand some Italian as I speak French and they are close. I am not brilliant at speaking it so far. I haven't had much chance to learn so far. I can manage phrases so far. OH was with me though and helping translate when necessary. I really need to learn more fast though. I want my children to grow bilingual as we will eventually move back there and I want them to be comfortable with all of their family. I am thinking I might do an OU course in Italian while on mat. leave and then carry on to do a languages degree in the next few years. That may help me get a job out there later.

Mamama31 · 25/09/2015 06:33

Thanks everyone. I've hardly slept with the worry- going to ring EPU today and ask if they could see me today as the weekend will be hell otherwise.

All I can do it hope and pray that things will be different this time.

StormTr00per · 25/09/2015 07:54

Aw fingers crossed you can get an appointment sooner Mama. X

Brenna24 · 25/09/2015 08:11

I hope they see you Mama.

GizzyBoo · 25/09/2015 08:32

Morning all.

I'm so sorry for all of you going through a tough time. These early weeks are so tough. Hang in there. I'm thinking of you Flowers

For those of you worried about upcoming social engagements I think I've come up with a genius idea for not drinking (well from next week onwards!)
I'm telling everyone that dh has bet me that I can't manage to do "Sober for October" for the whole month. I'm determined to prove him wrong Wink
Just got one wee party to get through on Saturday and I'm hoping to manage that on a couple of tiny wee glasses of prosecco and fake g&t's Grin

I'm still starving all the time. I was up and drinking tea at 4:30 this morning. What's that all about?

notsoold · 25/09/2015 08:35
