Welcome ijjeffro. Enjoy the rest of your time in marbs! Good luck with hiding the sobriety though. Maybe feign too hungover from previous night drinking??

Greyhorses · 19/09/2015 18:36

Congrats ljjeffro Grin

I have felt awful today! Nausea has really kicked in, I have spent the whole day sleeping or retching and I have an unavoidable 6 hour drive tomorrow for work.

We have also decided to go for an 8 week scan just to see if there actually is a baby in there or if I have made the whole thing up, only two weeks to wait!

Muffin7 · 19/09/2015 18:54

Feeling rotten today, got a cold coming on. Does anybody know what I can take in terms of medicine? Everything in our house seems to say 'consult doctor if pregnant'.

Bishboshbash · 19/09/2015 18:59

Pretty much just paracetamol I think Muffin!

Bishboshbash · 19/09/2015 20:59

Ok updating the list anyone else need added?

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2015 21:05

I think it is just paracetamol. Can highly recommend lemon & ginger tea with honey, though, to help you feel better.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 19/09/2015 21:09

Evening all. Thanks to those that wrote directly and said nice reassuring things to me Smile life is an emotional rollercoaster right now!

Had such a nice (if nauseous) day today. We walked for three hours straight today so I'm absolutely shattered! Did find that the exercise and being outdoors stopped the sickness for a while. Was thinking about trying some gentle yoga tomorrow, anyone tried it?

We've just decided to put a film on and I instantly fancied a glass of red wine - whoops! Haha.

Hope everyone had a good day. It's so nice that this thread is so chatty.

ODog · 19/09/2015 21:17

Yoga has made me feel great tiff. Really energised afterwards.

GrouchyKiwi · 19/09/2015 21:21

I'm so envious of you guys doing yoga. I'm not allowed to because I'm hypermobile. I loved it when I did it.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 19/09/2015 21:23

P.s. I wasn't meaning I had some wine, just that I briefly forgot I wasn't allowed it!

Good to know ODog, I've seen a few YouTube tutorials online - there aren't any classes near me. Gonna give it a try.

PinkBubbles1 · 19/09/2015 23:22

I'm kind of struggling to keep up! I just read 2 days worth of news and as I was reading I was thinking what I should reply to but now I've finished I've totally forgotten who said what!!

I had a water home birth with my last baby and it was great, the midwife was a bit butch and not as calming as I hoped as she was chatting on her phone a fair bit trying to get students to come watch but apart from that it went well. So any home birth questions just ask. There was no mess at all, even the pool was as clear as it was when I got in it as my baby was born with waters intact.

Weight is a real concern for me, I have really struggled to lose it this time round so am planning on sticking to healthy eating, sounds like a total excuse but u really struggle to find time to exercise but will be joining a yoga group when allowed at 15 weeks. Don't forget to make sure u are doing pelvic floors!!

I love the sound of living on a small island, do u have to travel to the mainland to work? How long does that take?

Sorry for waffling on!! I desperately want to keep up with the chat with you guys. Night

ODog · 20/09/2015 06:46

Pelvic floors are my nemesis. I did loads in my first pg and still needed electro therapy after to get it back to normal. Physio said a big baby + tear + longing pushing stage left me with no chance. Blush

Bejeena · 20/09/2015 07:15

I got a bit lost with the stats list, found one I couldn't add myself too and then another one I couldn't open. Can someone either send the link again or add me?

I am 37, I have a 2 year old son, had a mmc may and live in Germany

GizzyBoo · 20/09/2015 08:09

Morning all. Why oh why can't I fall asleep? I went to bed at 7:30 and was dozing by 8. Wide awake by 9 and midnight again before I could nod off!

Muffin I hope you're not feeling too grotty . You can also take a saline nasal spray to help with the congestion.

Tiffany I automatically went to pour wine with my dinner last night. Caught myself just as I was unscrewing the bottle!

Pinkbubbles it's a 5 hour ferry from here to the mainland so we don't head away often. Dh works here and is also a retained firefighter. The kids tend to leave to find work or study at 17/18 ish but my dd has gone to college this year as they really didn't have anything of interest for her here. She's doing great!

Dh and #4 are having breakfast in bed and #3 is still in the land of nod. I'm very much enjoying my tea in peace.

Btw is anyone still testing? I have no idea why I'm doing it other than I bought a bunch of cheapies and I tested positive on the first one so have lots left. I keep waiting for one to tell me I'm mistaken and I've got it all wrong!

Muffin7 · 20/09/2015 09:20

GizzyBoo I actually took a test yesterday, purely because like you I had bought quite a few cheap tests and they were just sitting there.

We have our early scan on Tuesday, hubby is really excited but I'm terrified they are going to tell me this has all been a dream.

GizzyBoo · 20/09/2015 09:42

I remember being so relieved at my 12 scan last time that there was an actual baby in there and it wasn't just cake GrinGrin

Mamama31 · 20/09/2015 09:42

Welcome and congrats to the newbies!

Muffin how many weeks will you be at your early scan? I know how you feel we have ours next Monday and I am petrified! I will be 7+2, so def should see a heartbeat if all is well.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing wkend! I had a lovely night with friends last night, I drank Pear Kopperberg (alcohol free) and it tasted pretty much the same as the alcoholic one! So that's a tip if any of your like fruit cider as I find non-alcoho beer pretty rank!

GrouchyKiwi · 20/09/2015 09:52

Muffin How are you feeling today? Hope you found something to ease the symptoms of your cold.

Had a terrible sleep last night as my 1 year old was very unsettled. I'm not sure if that's a contributing factor, but I'm now feeling very nauseous.

Can anyone tell me whether cramping is normal at 4 or 5 weeks gestation? I've been a bit crampy over the past couple of days, but can't remember whether it's typical for this time.

Muffin7 · 20/09/2015 09:53

Mamama31 I will be 7+3 so as you say if all is well there should be a heartbeat. My appointment isn't until 4:30pm so I have to do a full day at work before, not sure how I'll concentrate!

GizzyBoo · 20/09/2015 10:05

grouchy I've totally been crampy all week. It's one of the reasons I didn't test before Thursday as I was sure I was about to get my period. It was the stabby boobs and the congestion headaches that prompted me to test. Crampy is totally normal in the early weeks Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 20/09/2015 10:22

Thanks, Gizzy. You'd think I'd be less worried about things with the third baby.

Mamama31 · 20/09/2015 11:18

Muffin that will be difficult to concentrate! I booked ours for 10am thankfully! Hope you see a lovely strong heartbeat!

Bishboshbash · 20/09/2015 11:42

I felt quite crampy last night Grouchy and felt sick after being up with ds in the night.

This should be a more up to date list, will add anyone else this evening and put it in date order!

Mamama31 · 20/09/2015 11:44

Thanks Bish! That's fab! :)

Mamama31 · 20/09/2015 11:45

Bish and Grouchy I hope you can get a wee nap today that might help make you feel a bit better.
