Hello and congratulations Pineapple!

Daphnedolittle · 17/09/2015 22:28

Hey pineapple, I'm a first time mum too Smile also in london area, welcome to the thread!

GizzyBoo · 17/09/2015 22:48

Hello. Thought I'd jump on board.
Very unexpected bfp today. Came off the pill just under 5 weeks ago and bar 1 night of drunkenness all has been above board! We were definitely not ttc!
This will be #5. Oldest 18 and (current) youngest is 3.
After the initial shock this morning I now can't stop smiling and my head is buzzing so I can't sleep.
Think I'm about 4+5 going by date of conception as there was no last AF! Due the week before my 40th Hmm

I don't think there's really any denying the bfp. It's pretty conclusive!

Hi, is it ok if I jump on here too?
Came off the pill on 23rd July to start TTC#1 and after testing on 28th August thought I was going to be waiting a long time. DH convinced me to do a test today as he thought I had been pregnant for over a week and straight away with in seconds we got a BFP with afternoon urine! Did a digi and it says 3+ weeks. In shock. Had a speck/spot of blood on the 5th so I assume that was implantation! So excited!

Thanks all. Excited and terrified, good to know I'm in safe hands on here!
Daphnedolittle glad there is another first timer here too!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 18/09/2015 07:22

Southy84 · 18/09/2015 07:26

Welcome pineapple gizzy and emz :)

I'm also a first timer after a long journey x

Pineapplesecret · 18/09/2015 07:42

I've been reading and sending positive thoughts Southy xxx

Mamama31 · 18/09/2015 07:58

Welcome hello and pineapple! Congrats to you both. Pineapple what is your due date?

Southy that's excellent news about your results, sounding very positive. Has the cramping/spotting stopped? When is your scan? I hope you are feeling more relaxed now and yes! Step away from google! Lol!

I went out with close friends last night for dinner and told them my news as they were so supportive last time when I mc. They were so overjoyed for us!! :) I ordered chicken though and it was horrible, don't know if it was actually horrible or just me! But felt sick last night when I got home.

And guess what after my pee questionaire.....

Mamama31 · 18/09/2015 07:59

Stupid phone! I was saying after asking you all about getting up through the night, I was up at 4.30am to pee yay!!!! (sad that I am excited about this!) and I felt so sick at that time like I was hungover, still feel a bit of nausea now actually. Hoping all good signs :)

Mamama31 · 18/09/2015 08:03

Also welcome and congrats Emz and Gizzy! Lovely to have you join us.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 18/09/2015 08:13

Blimey, this does move quick! Can't keep up in the evenings as I've been working late the last few nights and literally rolling home into bed!

Amazing news Southy - all looks really positive! Glad you're in good hands. Much much love!

And 99 - I'm just outside of Birmingham! Yay, someone who's relatively close by!

Welcome pineapple - I'm a first timer too! I think there's a few of us on this thread. Very exciting and a bit bewildering! Ha ha.

And hi EmzLou!!!! Yay!!! Congrats on your BFP! So so pleased!

I'm meeting some friends for lunch today. One of them is the only friend I've told and the other had no idea. Planning not to tell her until 12 weeks but I wouldn't be surprised if she guessed before then. Looking forward to seeing them both though.

Had to clean some kid's sick up at work yesterday and I did think to myself: this is good practice!

Pineapplesecret · 18/09/2015 08:19

I'm not entirely sure!! Need to go on one of those calculators and figure it out. Will let you know!!

Southy84 · 18/09/2015 08:24

Thank you for all your positive vibes, still spotting unfortunately. I phoned the epu last night, not long after I posted on here (feel like I jinxed myself telling you all about my blood results) as suddenly lost quite a bit of blood (dark brown again) the epu said I have to wait it out Til next Friday til my scan, I just have to stay calm and accept that what will be will be. The cramps weren't there over night/ this morning so hopefully that's a good sign.

Yay for the early morning peeing mama I made it through to 7 this morning - think that's because I drank less last night tho.
You're doing pretty well keeping up toffee I'm only partially keeping up as I'm on annual leave!

Mamama31 · 18/09/2015 08:32

Southy hopefully it's nothing to worry about as dark blood is old blood, I think they worry more about fresh red blood. I'm sure the waiting is driving you insane poor thing!

Daphnedolittle · 18/09/2015 08:48

Oh southy, you poor thing you're really going through it. Just remember lots of people have bleeding and some even have periods and still go on to have healthy babies. Fingers crossed for you.

I had my doctors appointment this morning to get the process moving. She said a midwife will contact me soon about a booking in appointment. It all feels quite real now!

Southy84 · 18/09/2015 08:53

I hope not, it's just the waiting is doing my head in and it doesn't seem right to have this and be pregnant :-/

That was an early appointment daphne nice to now be waiting for the midwife appointment to come through :)

Daphnedolittle · 18/09/2015 09:21

I'm 7+2 so I think it's quite a normal time for checking in. They told me 8 but i was too keen GrinApparently it will take a couple of weeks for my first midwife appointment then they'll book the scan - Eek!! I just want it to come round now, so impatient.

GizzyBoo · 18/09/2015 09:23

Thanks for the welcome.
It all feels a bit surreal this morning. Only real clue is congestion headache. It's an odd time isn't it? No one to tell, nothing to do!

Southy, I hope things settle for you. Like others have said your hormone levels are good and going in the right direction and your loss is old blood. It's an anxious wait though. I hope it passes for you quickly.

BeckleinDisguise · 18/09/2015 09:38

Southy, those blood results are good, it's so frustrating waiting and I often wish I could have x-Ray vision just to check everything is alright in there. The bleeding and cramps must be such a worry, try and relax if you can, books, DVDs or something, and step away from Google, Goole is not your friend!

Hi new BFPers!

This thread does move fast!

I've also been waking up with a dry mouth tiff and my teeth feel in desperate need of a brush in the morning too. Only one early wake up to pee so far but I remember with the others that it was around 9-10 weeks that I was up in the night for that, it does ease at around 12-13w when the uterus moves up out of the pelvis.

DH has gone from behaving like its the end of the world to holding my belly and wanting to tell the children! He's also calling me 'Comedy Tits' as he thinks big boobs look funny on me Hmm. I don't think I'm more bloated than usual but he thinks I am a bit. I won't let him tell the children yet, it's far far too early and would cause them unnecessary stress if something goes wrong.

Gizzy I'm another surprise BFPer, this will be my 4th and I'll be 39 when its born. Why did you come off the pill (if you don't mind me being nosey)? Were you thinking of TTC? I stopped it in Feb as it was making me feel so ill but we were definitely not TTC, DH has been chickening out of a vasectomy for the past 2 years, he's cancelled it twice! We had been mostly careful but when accidents happened we didn't worry as my fertility has always been a bit shit. The BFP came as a huge shock, I don't think I've quite accepted it yet, I'll believe it's real when I see it/feel it I think.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 18/09/2015 09:38

How's everyone feeling today? I had my usual bran flakes this morning and felt very sick so think I'm going to have to find something else for mornings... What do you all have?

Thinking of you Southy, it's a tense waiting game isn't it.

GizzyBoo · 18/09/2015 09:50

Hi Beckle I've been having issues for the last year. Had a mirena and excessive bleeding then was put on the pill to stop it. Has a minor op to remove coil 6 weeks ago (it wasn't there!) and stopped the pill just under 6 weeks ago. I'd been feeling so crap on it I just wanted a break.
Dh had been away for work for 2 weeks and we had 1 drunken fumble the night he got home! It took 14 months to get pregnant with #4 so yesterday's bfp was a total surprise, I thought I was perimenopausal Grin

PeasinPod1 · 18/09/2015 09:54

Southy know exactly how you feel as had spotting then nothing for 5 days, then sudden gush of red blood- definitely thought was all over. But my bloods and early scan (even though just the sac- fact was there and right measurements seemed to please the Dr) have helped me remain vaguely positive.

I'm feeling neutral at the moment, but def not all excitedly pregnant like I was with DS who gave me the easiest worry free pregnancy around, this one is already so different. Confused

I'm going into my EPU again today (they'll think I'm crazy but must get so many of us!) as want to get another bloods done to be able to compare to my results a very days ago. You should be so happy yours have risen so significantly!! One of the best signs around.
