Anyone else struggling with food and things aren't tasting like they should. I'm hungry but just don't know what I want. Good luck to those of you waiting for scans and results. When u have 1 child already, the 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc doesn't make a huge difference, it will all be fab!

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 15/09/2015 15:53

southy & mama all they could see was a sac - have to go back in two weeks, I've health problems hence the early scans x

GrouchyKiwi · 15/09/2015 15:56

I hope they realise that tiny, tiny babies should be an exception, Tiff.

ODog I love doing a whole piles of vegetable sticks, with or without hummus. It's great because the DCs love them too. So celery, cucumber, carrot, peppers and sliced apple are good. Also mixed dried fruit and nuts, rice cakes with sliced avocado & cherry tomatoes & black pepper, wholemeal toast with mashed avocado and cheddar cheese, cheese & ham & avocado quesadillas (great if you've got leftover wraps and a sandwich press, though you can do them in the frypan), oatcakes & cheese.

I'm going to cook up some chick peas in my slow cooker for snacking on so I'll report back if they're delicious!

Pink I actually found it a massive leap going from one to two, but I think that's mostly because DD2 was VERY demanding and had to feed every hour or so for the first 4 months (2 hourly at night). I was shattered. She's only just started sleeping through thankfully.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 15/09/2015 15:59

Ooh ODog all those things sound scrumptious! I'm not really getting any increasing hunger at the moment -if anything, I'm off food a bit. Been eating A LOT of pasta though. That's the one thing I can bring myself to eat at the moment. And fruit. And lots of water.

We're lucky at work as we have a fantastic canteen that serves gorgeous freshly cooked meals at lunchtime. Think I'll be making the most of that over the next few months! Means I'll always have plenty of veggies and salad at lunch time.

No weird tastes for me yet, Pink. What kinds of thing taste weird?

Mamama31 · 15/09/2015 16:20

I'm just eating stodge and too much of it! I always have a fruit smoothie every morning though to make sure I have my 5 a day in one go because it's unlikely I'll get much nutrition from bacon baps and jam doughnuts :/ bring on the morning sickness to stop me from being a gorb! I'm usually very healthy!!!! And barely touch carbs....now I'm addicted to carbs!!!

Southy84 · 15/09/2015 17:13

Thank you all again for thinking of me, the scan went well they could see a sac in th right place and said they are really pleased with my Hcg levels, I'm going back next Friday for a follow up scan and will know then if everything is definitely ok.

icant that's good to know, sorry to hear you have health problems, hope you're ok

99percentchocolate · 15/09/2015 17:18

Southy - was just coming on to check on you! Fantastic news! I'm so happy for you, fingers firmly crossed for the next scan too.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 15/09/2015 17:29

Ahhh Southy that is SUCH good news! So glad everything (or everyone!) is where they should be and levels are continuing to go in the right direction. Hope that puts your mind at rest a little bit! xxx

PosterEh · 15/09/2015 17:39

Great news!

Southy84 · 15/09/2015 17:48

Thank you, yes the next 10 days need to hurry up!! I'm so impatient and still worrying, but so nice to have all your support. On good news I have nausea today and boobs are getting more painful, feeling happy about that! Oh and I'm off food too toffee

Mamama31 · 15/09/2015 18:06

Southy that's excellent news! So pleased to hear that and your symptoms sound good too....pass on some of that nausea would you?!

Muffin7 · 15/09/2015 18:18

Today has been a horrendous day for me sickness wise. We are on holiday in Prague, I managed a large bowl of fruit for breakfast, but when we sat down for lunch I felt shocking, so had to leave my lunch and sit outside whilst my husband ate. I managed a bread roll later on that seemed to sort me out. Has anybody else felt this crazy nausea? I haven't actually been sick yet.

PearlyFish · 15/09/2015 19:29

Great news Southy! X

Keep the snack ideas coming. I don't really know what I want. Eating is mostly normal despite mild nausea all day, increasing to off-putting levels by the time I try to eat my dinner. Muffin I feel your pain! I've got a bag of peppermint boiled sweets on the go at the moment. Will perhaps try and get some real ginger to make tea with more likely I will be eating ginger biscuits

Bejeena · 15/09/2015 19:32

Yes muffin7 I had it quite a lot in my first pregnancy and have started it this time too arghhh

PearlyFish · 15/09/2015 19:35

Sorry to hear your news maude Flowers x

Daphnedolittle · 15/09/2015 19:37

I was really nauseous up until yesterday (am 6+6) but it's worn off today. It's making me really worried Sad for those who have been pregnant before, is that normal?
I didn't want anything except fruit and had to force food down, but now I feel ok.
My favourite foods have been satsumas and strawberry yazoo!!

Great to hear your news southy! Smile

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 15/09/2015 19:43

Fab news Southy!
Daphne - I'm also crazing yahoo! My nausea seems to come and go as well.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 15/09/2015 19:44

Sorry maud just seen your post :(

Daphnedolittle · 15/09/2015 19:45

Crazing yahoo Grin

Muffin7 · 15/09/2015 20:40

Glad to hear I'm not on my own. It seems carbs are the only thing that sort it out.

We have our early scan a week today and I'm so nervous, by then we will be 7+3, have many of you been for an early scan? What should I expect?

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 15/09/2015 21:11

Gaha oops my tiredness kicking in the daphne ;)
I was only 4+6 at my scan so sure you will see more on yours muffin.

Southy84 · 15/09/2015 21:15

maud Flowers I hope everything turns out ok, I'm thinking about you x

Mamama31 · 15/09/2015 21:23

Muffin my early scan is in 2 weeks when I will be 7+2 so I'll be keen to hear what yours was like so we can compare notes! Haha! Desperate to see a healthy heart beat and a little blob all in the right place!! Not sure much more would be seen so early.

PinkBubbles1 · 15/09/2015 21:25

So sorry Maud.

PinkBubbles1 · 15/09/2015 21:38

Grouchy thank goodness your DD2 is sleeping at last, my first was a 2 hourly feeder due to jaundice, so I totally understand!

Toffee I think it's because I have this metallic type taste that is making things taste horrid. Im off wholemeal bread, green tea and cereal at the min, and fancying juice and fruit. Which has been signs for a girl with me before but who knows!!

Southy so pleased things are looking good

Daphne sickness and nausea can come in waves and sometimes it doesn't last the full 12 weeks, if you have a better day try to enjoy it and not worry, not everyone even gets it but if ever you are really concerned go get seen its far better than just worrying and that is what they are there for.
