Thanks for good wishes to ODog and others.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 15/09/2015 10:42

Oh Maud, so sorry to hear your news but fingers crossed it's still not the end - bleeding doesn't necessarily always mean mc. Sending lots of love and cuddles in this difficult time anyway. Much much love.

Sorry I've been out of action for a few days - had the hen do over the weekend (successfully managed to avoid suspicion I think! Thank goodness for willy straws... could pretend I was drinking without actually drinking!). There was a hairy moment when I ordered a mocktail in the cocktail bar, trying not to make a big deal out of it, but the bartender 'helpfully' made sure I knew it wasn't an alcoholic cocktail and kept asking if I'd like him to add alcohol to it. Other than that, smooth sailing.

Then yesterday I was at the industry Bridal Buying fair in Harrogate! Went with my 3 colleagues from the bridal shop that I work part-time in, one of whom is 20 weeks pregnant. Again, had to avoid free glasses of prosecco but I think I avoided suspicion again.

I'm getting good at this.

Ditto to waking up at silly o'clock! 6am seems to be my new best friend. Doesn't help with the tiredness throughout the day!

I'm trying to catch up on PAGES of posts so sorry this post hasn't replied to many people, but I'm back on it now. FX for Southy and everyone else who's worried.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 15/09/2015 10:49

So sorry Maud. Try not to think the worst until you've had the scan and a definitive answer, anything can happen!

ToffeeApple When are you gettting married? Must be soon!!

After reading everyone's early wakeups yesterday I thought, that hasn't happened to me... And then it did this morning!

Still having cramps which are freaking me out but I'm trying not to read too much into them.

ODog · 15/09/2015 11:06

So sorry maud. Fx the scan surprises you and it's good news and I hope you have lots of RL support either way. Such a scary time. Flowers and Cake for you.

Starryeyed1001 · 15/09/2015 11:19

Fingers crossed for you maud x

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 15/09/2015 11:31

I'm exactly the same on the cramps front Tiffany - keep having them, trying not to worry about them, just keep convincing myself it's normal. Thought being pregnant would relieve me of any period-pain for 9 months but seems that's not really the case!

And I'm already married - DH and I got married back in April but I now work part time for the bridal shop that I bought my dress from, alongside my full time job. Just a bit of extra spends! Yesterday we went to a big industry only event where we see all the upcoming bridal collections from a whole range of different designers and we pick the ones we want to have in the Boutique! It was pretty fun but very exhausting!

Do we know how long these early morning starts are likely to carry on for?!

DorotheaHomeAlone · 15/09/2015 11:45

Maud fingers crossed for you

Toffee I'm also up at 5.30 and unable to resettle. Last time it eased off in the middle tri but returned at the end with the added fun of big belly can't get comfy issues. Sorry!

ODog · 15/09/2015 12:02

toffee the early mornings will go on for years!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 15/09/2015 12:12

Ha ha ha ODog - great response. Yes, suppose I best get used to this! Am planning to ring my doctors surgery today to book myself in for an appointment.

Mamama31 · 15/09/2015 12:17

Beckle that's nice Eurodisney will be fun! You might have to miss out of some of the stuff though. And yes to the tmi bowel movements, soon as I get up its like clockwork every morning.

Re sore boobs, mine are small to begin with so having a little extra is quite nice but they are quite tender and slightly sore to lie on.

I am eating such stodgy food! The bloat is ridiculous from bread/potatoes most days! Just had a bacon bap followed by a jam doughnut (lies I had 2) and a spoon of nutella! I was completely off sweet stuff this stage last pregnancy so I'm surprised by my appetite and hoping it stops soon or ill be a whale before 12 weeks hit! And it won't be baby it will be bloat/fat!

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 15/09/2015 12:20

ToffeeApple ah sorry, when you said hen do, I thought you meant your own! How lovely to work for a bridal shop Smile

How is everyone feeling today in general? I feel way less weepy than yesterday where I kept crying at the drop of a hat.

Mamama31 · 15/09/2015 12:20

Maud I'm so sorry to hear this, I hope you have a lot of comfort and support around you. And praying for a little miracle at your scan. Huge hugs, be kind to yourself x

GrouchyKiwi · 15/09/2015 12:32

Hi all. I did my test yesterday, and am due around 23 May. This will be DC3, as we've got a 3 year old and a 1 year old, so it will be interesting!

DH is nervous about it all, but he'll be fine. Wink

I wasn't going to join for a while but the DCs are driving me nuts today so thought it would be good to settle the hormones by chatting with you all. Smile

Starryeyed1001 · 15/09/2015 12:41

Welcome GrouchyKiwi, I haven't started suffering with the hormones yet...OH probably won't know what's hit him when I do as I don't tend to suffer from PMS...it could be interesting for both of us x Im on a night shift tonight which Im really not looking forward to....was in bed by 9:30 last night ha ha x

Mamama31 · 15/09/2015 12:42

Welcome grouchy! Wow you will have your hands full when this one comes along! My friend had her third recently with similar age gaps and she's doing great, it's like the 3rd baby was always there!

Tiffany I haven't been crying but I've felt very oversensitive...and irritated by DH alot! he's being very patient though and he knows that if he even breathes the wrong way I'll go off on one! (I'm trying to kerb it but so easily irritated). I did get a bit emotional thinking of my mmc a couple of nights ago I had some strange feelings I wasn't prepared for, and I started to think of the little one that didn't make it too far and felt guilty that it wouldn't be part of this family. In general I feel this new pregnancy has mended my heart a lot but just some moments of sadness for what might have been.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 15/09/2015 14:23

Ah Mamama, I think it's completely normal to be emotional like that - it must be so difficult thinking of what could have been before your mmc. I can't even begin to imagine.

I'm glad I'm not the only one being a bit snippy at DH though! Poor bloke... I got irritated yesterday that he was drinking a can of coke. I've asked him to please not consume the things I have to cut back on in front of me because it's not fair. LOL. I also had a go at him this morning because he never sets his own alarm. I always set my alarm (on my phone) at the time he needs to get up (which is earlier than me incidentally). SO the alarm goes off, and he goes and retrieves my phone and throws it at me to turn it off. THEN he goes back to sleep and proceeds to wake me up every 5 minutes to ask what the time is. HOW ANNOYING IS THAT?!

Welcome Grouchy. Blimey, you'll have your hands full but what a wonderful new addition to your family! I bet your DC will be super excited.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/09/2015 14:40

Thanks all. My Mum had three 3 and under so I'll get lots of good advice from her! I'm very excited.

Toffee: that's extremely annoying! I'd be (literally) kicking him out of bed so I could sleep more.

Flowers Mama.

Mamama31 · 15/09/2015 14:44

Haha! Toffee I must admit that sounds bloody well annoying! I'd be annoyed at that without pregnancy hormones! Lol! I am being over the top easily irritated though, I keep trying not to be but then I feel so annoyed I can't help but say something!!

PosterEh · 15/09/2015 14:46

Grouchy mine are 3 and 1 at the moment but will be on my due date. I think I'm in denial at how tiring it's going to be!

I've registered with an obstetrician today. I'm a private patient as we are living abroad at the moment so it's being covered by our health insurance. Still not getting seen until 12 weeks though. I think I might pay for an early scan at about 8/9 weeks.

PosterEh · 15/09/2015 14:46

Yy to feeing the rage.

PosterEh · 15/09/2015 14:47

Sorry, that should say:
mine are 3 and 1 at the moment but will be 4 and 2 on my due date.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/09/2015 14:49

Ooh, that's good to know, Poster. Mine will be 4 and 22 months. Will be good to chat with someone in the same boat.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 15/09/2015 15:00

My cousin has just told me that his wedding (8 weeks after my due date) is adults only! So now I have been forced to confess and ask him to make an exception, otherwise my whole family will be up in Glasgow and DH and I will miss out Sad

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 15/09/2015 15:01

I'm trying to look at it as, if he says no to us coming then at least I won't have to go on a plane with a tiny baby. positive thinking

ODog · 15/09/2015 15:26

Anyone got any good ideas for nutritious snacks? I'm defo feeling hungrier more regularly and since I have had a toddler have a few Fail safe healthy snacks but looking for inspiration...
So far today I've had:
Crispbreads with Philadelphia and tomatoes
Breadsticks and hummus
Greek yoghurt with honey and raspberries
Peanut butter and banana on wholemeal toast

Wow - that's a lot reading that back. That's ok top of breakfast and lunch. I weighed myself today though as I've been eating so much and I've lost half a pound in the last 2 weeks so the blueberry sized foetus obvs needs it! Haha!
