Southy that's great news! I hope the scan gives you the reassurance you need tomorrow. I will be thinking of you and continue sending prayers your way x

ODog · 14/09/2015 12:43

Great news southy now let's all just keep our fx for good scan news tomorrow. At least you know the pregnancy is progressing.

PosterEh · 14/09/2015 13:40

Hi can I join?
I got a bfp yesterday. Will be dc3 as already have a 3yr old and a 1yr old.
I've recently moved to Ireland and have no idea how anything works so I'm off to see the GP this afternoon. I've had gestational diabetes in both my pregnancies and am now prediabetic when not pregnant so I'm expecting a lot of visits to the hospital ahead.

Expected due date 20th May but chances are I'll be induced at 38 weeks so guess it'll be around the 6th.

PeasinPod1 · 14/09/2015 16:03

Ladies glad to have found you, can I join too?

Am currently 5+2 and due 14th May.

Southy reading back- so glad all ok. Ibnterested to hear re. your scan tomorrow- as hoping to go to my EPU this Friday as nearly 6 weeks and hopefully get an early scan too.
I've also experienced 2 hours of (brown) spotting last week and am just holding in there until I can finally get a scan. This will be DC2 all going well.

This early stage and the waiting is horrendous! Planning on going to the cinema for escapism as much as possible to pass the time, cant wait till we are all 7/8 weeks and hopefully seeing a heartbeat.

Southy84 · 14/09/2015 16:11

Thank you odog mama and peas welcome poster and peas and congratulations to you both.

peas I had spotting yesterday and first thing this morning and the nurse I saw today just smiled and said it's perfectly normal for this stage. I will be 5+2 tomorrow but convinced I OV late so don't think I will see much. Just want to know baby is in the right place. Of course I will update you with what happens :) x

99percentchocolate · 14/09/2015 16:14

Southey - glad the HCG has increased and that they've now offered you a scan. Fingers crossed you get positive news there. Will be thinking of you xxxx if it helps, I had the pinkish blood when wiping with DD and it turned out to be implantation bleed (very common). It doesn't make it any less scary though so here to hold a hand xxx

Congratulations to everyone getting their Bfps and double congratulations to Grey on your wedding news too!

Is anyone else feeling really protective of our mini bumps? I feel quite vulnerable in these early stages anyway, but even more so when people can't actually see anything yet. Somebody nearly knocked me down an escalator yesterday as I was trying to get off at the top and I was absolutely terrified for bean. Luckily I wasn't hurt at all but I was so angry at the person responsible that I had to walk away so I didn't get into an argument (not like me at all, I always shy away from any kind of confrontation)

Mamama31 · 14/09/2015 16:19

Welcome Peas and congrats! I'm 5+2 and due 14th May also!! I will be getting scan on 28th at 7+2 due to mmc in april. How are you feeling? I've got sore boobs, and waking very early (5.30ish) in the mornings but not much else going on. No real nausea just eating stodgy food really. do you have much going on with symptoms yet?

Southy84 · 14/09/2015 16:26

Oh really 99 how long did yours last and how far along were you? Thank you for the hand holding, really appreciate it xx I agree with the feeling protective, in paranoid!

mama I'm also awake at 5:30 every morning and have been for the last week!! It's doing my head in! Often don't get back to sleep either Angry

PeasinPod1 · 14/09/2015 16:31

Hi Mamama3 due date twin!

I have only sore nipples! Not sore boobs and no nausea at all, but didn't have it with DC1 either. Wish I was sick as a dog, at least would know things were getting on?!
I did some tests with Clear Blue weeks digital and got a shock as went from "3+ weeks" last week...to only "2-3 weeks"at weekend. But the 2-3 was from a mid afternoon test. Did one first thing today and back up to 3+. Giving them a break from now on though!

Happy you have your BFP and are already 5 weeks along after your mmc, and have your 7 week scan to look forwards to Smile

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 14/09/2015 16:42

Hi all, can I join in? I have an estimated due date of 15th May 2016! Still so overwhelmed at the moment I can't even believe I'm writing on this board! Smile

I have been experiencing quite a bit of cramping today - I've heard it can be quite common in the first trimester, has anyone else found this?

ODog · 14/09/2015 16:51

Welcome to the new joiners! This is becoming a busy thread now. Excited to share the next 8/9 months with you all x

JustMeAndHim · 14/09/2015 17:01

Hi ladies, wondering if I can join you? I Just got my BFP at the weekend and I think I'm 5 weeks today so edd of 16th May!? Still can't believe it! It doesn't really feel real yet at all, I'm quite worried it's all just going to disappear!

Mamama31 · 14/09/2015 17:51

Welcome tiffany and just, congrats! Nice to have you onboard!

Peas last pregnancy I kept doing tests and then digital tests but I decided not to this time as despite the tests being dark and going up as they should on digital, I still had a mmc so to me now it is a waste of money! Also after the mmc it took 7 or 8 weeks to get a negative test even though I had a d&c and everything was gone my hormone levels remained high for some time. It just shows you that it is up to fate how it goes and no amount of testing is really going to make a difference. Praying a lot and keeping busy with plenty of distractions: reading/walking/seeing friends is really the best thing that I can do to stay calm and positive.

Bejeena · 14/09/2015 18:48

mamama the keeping busy advice is a good one, I think I should get us out and about more in the afternoons as I work mornings so is just me and the toddler and I do find myself wondering about the what ifs after my mmc in May. It is hard, I still can't get excited about the pregnancy, just scared even though scan has shown a heartbeat. Maybe after 12 weeks, so only 5 more for me to go. Arghhhhh

PearlyFish · 14/09/2015 18:57

Great news Southy , hope the scan tomorrow goes well.

Hi to all the new joiners!

6 + 2 today (nauseous and also did the 5.30am wake-up!)

99percentchocolate · 14/09/2015 18:58

Hello Tiffany and Just! Hope you are doing well, are these your first pregnancies? Tiffany - cramping very normal, it's the stretching of the round ligaments making room for baby to grow. Cramping a lot myself today.

Southy - I had a long, horrible weekend between first bleed when wiping to scan on Monday morning. I remember how bloody horrible it felt, particularly the wait to find out, so will be thinking of you tonight and tomorrow x

Mamama31 · 14/09/2015 19:11

Bejeena keeping busy is definitely the key, I'm putting my days in rightly. Have been out walking with my dog after dinner every night so once work/dinner/dog walk/housework/washing is done it's time for bed. Seems wrong to wish your life away but we are so desperate to get to the stage where it feels everything will be ok! If that's ever!

And after a mmc I think the fear is just so strong, I keep thinking my scan at 7+2 will alleviate my fears but really ill be worried about the next one. So keep busy and stay positive that's all we can do!

Mamama31 · 14/09/2015 19:14

Pearly high five to the 5.30am wide awake club....actually no...high fiving is quite the opposite to how we feel at 5.30am....

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 14/09/2015 19:17

Thanks for the welcome! 99percent yes it's my first pregnancy! Thanks for advising about the cramps, so good to hear that. Did yet another test when I got home from work to reassure myself, and got a really strong positive on a Tesco test. Need to stop testing all the time now and just think positive glowy thoughts! Smile

Bishboshbash · 14/09/2015 19:36

I did 10 tests first time round haha I have only done 2 this time although I'm saving another digital for next week.
I will join the 5.30am club but only because my 2year old likes to get up then, I could sleep for a week!

Mamama31 · 14/09/2015 19:43

Bish wow 5am start every day with your lo! Your defo the leader of the 5am club now!! How do you even function!?!

Blue500 · 14/09/2015 20:02

Evening all! Just catching up with everyone. Can I join the 5am club too? Although a snoring DH might have something to do with it too!

So I've come down with a cold today and it's sucks that I can't really take anything for it. I've got a swollen foot at the moment (I'm really in the wars :) !) so I've been taking a few paracetomal for that but I don't really want to keep on taking it for my cold. So I think I just need to suffer through. Also is itching skin a syptom? Anyone else getting this?

Welcome newbies and congrats to you all.
Southy glad to hear that things may be improving x

Bishboshbash · 14/09/2015 20:16

Naps, naps are the way forward!

I think I have heard of itchy skin being a symptom Blue. Poor you with the cold though, that sucks. Hope you feel better soon!

Mamama31 · 14/09/2015 20:49

Bish no naps for me I work full time. I think I'll sleep through tonight as I'm exhausted!

Blue my arms have been really itchy since yday, the tops of them. I think it's due to hormone changes as it was the same when I first came off the bc pill my arms itched so much for a couple of weeks so might be the same with pregnancy hormones kicking in! Yay! Another symptom to obsess about!

Blil3 · 14/09/2015 20:50

Wow loving the thread ladies! Just had chance to catch up on it all. I'm 6+5.
Hello and congrats to all newcomers.
99% and Beckle- think my DH is finally coming round to the planned arrival, think you are spot on about them takin a bit longer to get their head around it all!
It still doesn't feel real for me.
Storm- I couldtnt agree more - Very nauseous last week with cramps but just feeling as though I've got a hangover for the past few days, without the booze!
Congratulations Greyhorses on your exciting news!!
Southy - good luck for your scan tomorrow, will be thinking of you!
Peas - I've also done a silly amount of tests, definitely going to stop now and just wait for midwife appointment next week!
Blue- I'm feeling super itchy at the mo, didn't realise it could be a symptom too!
Hope everyone's having a lovely evening
