Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 37th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 36th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 52nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Apparently vasaline on baby's bum can help to stop meconium sticking so much (and my goodness does that stuff stick!) Not sure why you'd need that many tubs though......

Jcandy · 01/09/2015 18:19

Welcome fruit!

Glad your first day went Ok pud. On the countdown to finishing now Smile I worked out I have 35 working days left. Now just have to drag myself through them!

purplewhale · 01/09/2015 18:20

Thanks Chat I appreciate the info, they didn't explain it all.

As long as Purplebaby is ok then it really doesn't matter. There's a messy house that needs sorting and no energy to sort it. But big picture, it really isn't important.

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/09/2015 18:21

purple you will get your baby super soon though!!!! Light at the end of the tunnel Flowers

I just had the most horrendous (poo) experience ever, first time I've really experienced the pregnancy constipation, guess I shouldn't moan at 22+3! Getting on the prunes asap!

batfish · 01/09/2015 18:35

Goodness ga - 6 tubs of vaseline?! I don't have any at all, feeling suddenly unprepared!

Congrats fruit and very sorry to hear about your mmc, keeping everything crossed that this time is very diffevent for you.

Hugs purple, hope you are OK, hopefully it will fly by for you now until you can meet your lovely squishy baby!

So we had a shitload of stuff arrive from the UK today. And I mean a shitload - we shipped it all as it was all the stuff we left behind when we left the country 6+ years ago. I haven't the foggiest where the hell we are going to put everything. But the baby car seat and isofix base that we bought in April were in there so that's good at least!

I really want to eat - I got a bit cocky after managing to avoid the sleep vomming for a whole week by limiting my food intake in the evening - and I ate a whole pizza on Sun and a bit of Chinese last night (although less than I usually would) and as a result have had a miserable couple of nights so am back to no food again tonight Sad

gaggiagirl · 01/09/2015 18:35

jc forgot to ask, how do you feel about what the midwife said, will you take more sick? Good tip about the Vaseline. I'm guessing there are 6 tubs just because there is lots of everything in my gift basket.

CarrotPuff · 01/09/2015 18:38

Ga glad you had a nice day. I've heard of vaseline on baby's bum too, but we never done it ourselves.

Jelly £800 NOT including pram, car seat and furniture? Blimey, what are you buying?

jellypi3 · 01/09/2015 18:51

Well it came our at 650 but I'm sure I forgot something. Basically the snuzpod alone is 200, plus I've estimated things like 20 quid on muslins and dummies etc. So all over estimates but means I won't be too shocked if I do spend that much. I used the list I think you posted a while back carrot

honeysucklejasmine · 01/09/2015 18:51

Jelly £800?!?! I need to see this list.

honeysucklejasmine · 01/09/2015 18:53

X-post! Think I'll try to do without a snuzpod or Chicco next to me or cocoon thing. The price tag terrifies me!

oneyorkshirepud · 01/09/2015 18:56

Ooh JC 35 days is not bad!

Jelly are you buying gold encrusted baby bling?! I know that I am mega tight thrifty and have gone down the second hand route but we have most stuff for £300 so far. Still need a car seat (will be new) and a crib (ebay) though. We have been quite lucky thus far though, but hey, if you've got the money then why not?! Smile

Seriously, how is Xmas Pud able to kick me in the ribs already? It should have short genes so Lord knows how it is managing to be that long. OW!!!

jellypi3 · 01/09/2015 18:58

Maybe I've vastly over estimated then? I've not actually bought anything yet. I'll post the list tomorrow (it's on my work pc) and you can tell me where I've gone wrong lol. Although as I say it's closer to 650 but I always give or a take a couple hundred just in case and 200 of that is snuzpod.

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/09/2015 19:06

My list of stuff excluding pram/cot/Moses basket comes to about £900 Blush the pricier items are baby monitor, Moses basket stand, cot mattress, breast pump, bouncer, baby harness/carrier, bottle steriliser, baby sleeping bags, etc. Scary how much the little things then add up.

jellypi3 · 01/09/2015 19:09

I've not got any of that stuff on my list looking. Basically I put together a list of stuff I need to have before the baby is here. ..I think I must have added a zero somewhere.

ThursdayLastWeek · 01/09/2015 19:22

I would say quite a few of those things could wait until after the birth looking.
Especially don't buy a carrier yet, there are places online to hire them, and sling libraries to visit. There's ally no way of knowing what you or your baby will like til it's here Smile

Ditto sleeping bags - they're not made for newborns, and you might find your arrangements don't suit them in the end.

Everything can be ordered online and often with next day delivery, so if you find you really do need something you'll be able to get it. And quickly!

jellypi3 · 01/09/2015 19:38

OK I'll try to list my essentials list :

-snuzpod + mattress (instead of moses basket or crib for us)

  • sheets, cellular blankets and mattress protector for above
  • steriliser
  • pram
  • car seat
  • car seat Base (not 100% necessary)
  • changing mat(s)
  • baby grows x 8
  • vests x 8
  • Cardigan x 4
  • hats and socks
  • travelling home suit
-nappies (size 1 and 2)
  • wet wipes
  • dummies
  • baby hygiene things (scissors, brush etc)
  • baby bath
-sponge
  • nursing bra x 3
  • lasinoh
  • breast pads
  • changing bag
  • muslins x 100000000
  • cotton wool pads or balls
  • things like infocol, calpol etc (I have a specific list)
-apparently a ton of vaseline

I'm sure I've forgotten loads but that's my list so far of essentials to have before baby is here. For me things like nursery furniture, slings, bouncers, play mats etc can all wait till post baby.

Jcandy · 01/09/2015 20:15

Ga I'm just going to keep going with work at the moment. We've reduced my hours (with annual leave) and I'm only doing 4 days a week so I need to try it first. I'm just fed up of feeling rubbish and tired so it's affecting my mood again.

My total list including everything for before and just after baby arrives came to £2200. That is with overestimation on most things and with a set of cloth nappies. I think it's likely to come to about £1500 in the end. Wanted to make sure I budgeted enough. Oh it also includes my nct classes, gym ball, maternuts pillow stuff like that

Lookingforadvice123 · 01/09/2015 21:35

Thanks Thursday for the tip! Will def wait until after he's here to get the carrier as we'd like to try it out with the real baby!

ThursdayLastWeek · 01/09/2015 21:39

Beware though, slings and carriers are an expensive habit when you get into them!
I'm currently doing a lot of research on wraps and ring slings for the unborn one Smile

jellypi3 · 01/09/2015 21:48

I like the caboo carrier

gaggiagirl · 01/09/2015 22:10

Can anyone tag toast on Facebook please?. She got admitted again and has been very quiet since yesterday. Hope everything is ok toast if you're lurking.

purplewhale · 01/09/2015 22:14

Done Ga, Toast hope you're ok lovie

deeplybaffled · 01/09/2015 22:15

Thinking of you, toast - hope all ok.

CarrotPuff · 02/09/2015 07:14

Morning viroids.

I hope you're ok Toast.

Jelly I hope I didn't come across as having a go. I was genuinely curious. Tbh I've never calculated how much all the little things cost, I guess they do add up. Especially if £200 of that is snuzpod.

JC I'm glad you came up with a plan.

DS still woke up 3 or 4 times last night but combination of going to bed at half 9 and him falling back asleep after his 5am wake up till 6 helped a bit. Hope the rest of you got some sleep too.

jellypi3 · 02/09/2015 07:43

toast posted on fb this morning.

carrot no no I didn't take it as you having a go! To be fair I do vastly over estimated spending, even things like my weekly shop I always round up so when it comes to pay I'm pleasantly surprised haha. I don't think it'll be 800 quid but that's sort of my worst case scenario for the above items.

Second night of bad sleep with the dream genii. :(
