Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 37th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 36th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 52nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Honey, good work on the seafood front! I have eaten prawns at home but would also eat seafood in restaurants that I trust. I used to frequent Big Mussel and Bar Luga I in Newcastle for mussels and chips. But that was 10 years ago, waaa! not sure if they are still there/any good now.

Purple 9 days?! Feck How exciting! Good idea putting the cot next to the bed, you can do all of your bumping into it now before baby purple arrives.

JC, you look pretty!

Ha ha Carrot, depends if they are strong enough to cause vibrations.... Smile

Has anyone else found that they bruise more easily in pregnancy? I walked into a tin of paint the other night idiot and have an absolute whopper.

Made my second version of the apple/peanut butter/chocolate torte tonight. Much better. Will post the recipe in the next couple of days.

Gx for sleep without too much backache tonight - Jelly enjoy the Dream Geni!

honeysucklejasmine · 31/08/2015 07:46

I do have mystery bruises Pud! Glad its not just me!

Ga seafood restaurant you say? Yum.

I don't bruise any more easily when pregnant which is lucky because I'd basically just be one big hemorage if I did.

CarrotPuff · 31/08/2015 08:04

Gosh Purple that's so soon! Must be surreal to know the day you'll become a mum.

Pud I'm shamelessly inviting myself to yours for tea and cake!

Found my bigger bras. Soo comfy!

jellypi3 · 31/08/2015 08:26

Well I certainly slept better with the dream genii although I had no idea where to put my left arm lol. Tis very comfy.

I rarely bruise, even to the point when i broke my foot last year the doctor was amazed at my lack of bruising.

I was frustrated at the lack of sea food to begin with but now I'm half way almost i don't care so much. Dp would be really upset if I did eat it, he's just a worrier.

batfish · 31/08/2015 09:39

carrot it is currently 40+ degrees outside but when baby arrives it will be cooling off slightly so should be low to mid 30s - however AC can be chilly, I guess I'll just have to try to stick to the 'put them in 1 more later than me' rule.

Yay for mussels honey, hope you enjoyed!

Haha deeply I feel exactly the same, I mean i can't even remember the last time I was organised enough to do a proper supermarket shop and I'm going to be in complete charge of another life?! Ridiculous idea.

It's absolutely boiling in the office today, some eejit turned off the AC last night, it's back on now but not cooling very quickly!

batfish · 31/08/2015 09:39

jelly I just put my left arm under my big pillow so I'm kind of cuddling it

gaggiagirl · 31/08/2015 13:54

Cunting hell! Its my last day at work tomorrow. My colleagues have arranged a buffet lunch and cake and what not. Very kind of them. DD was going to her dads cos school doesn't start til Thursday.
Texted her dad to confirm and no he cant have her til NEXT Tuesday and I've apparently got my wires crossed. Arrrrrgggghhhhhhh. I've asked my supervisor if I can just come in with DD because I have zero alternative and she said probably not but to speak to someone higher up. Aaarrrrggghhhh bollocks!!!!!!

oneyorkshirepud · 31/08/2015 14:03

Nightmare Ga.

(Yey for last day though!)

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 31/08/2015 14:15

Those who are interested in swaddling the SIDS rush comes from overheating. The Woombie is what I used with DD as it is breathable and also it has a bit of flex to allow baby to move their arms and legs without waking themselves up. I got one at 5 weeks and it saved my sanity!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 31/08/2015 14:15

Risk not rush Hmm

LaLaLaaaa · 31/08/2015 14:22

Morning viroids! afternoon?

Sorry for neglecting you all. I am most very excited to see how many of you are creeping towards D-Day! More babies, hooray!

indigo what kind of posh hospital did you go to where they showed you all those wonderful things? Mine was a bit rubbish! They did show me swaddling when I asked though and I cheated and bought a swaddle-pod. Unfortunately miniLa had better ideas and developed mega-strong arms by week 2 that refused to be kept in swaddle, so we had to give it up.

My biggest tip would be to take massive pants. Like, MASSIVE. Over belly button. Because if you end up with an EMCS (let's hope not but just in ccase) then you don't want pants that rest on the stitch area.

Earplugs and eye mask - absolutely vital.Plus large comfy t-shirts and leggings for in case you're in for a while. Hopefully it'll not be as hot as it was when I was there.

Me and miniLa are hanging at home on this fine sunny (ha!) bank holiday. He is having fun waking himself up farting after each time I've painstakingly rocked him to sleep. Little monkey.

How are you all? Who's next? Deeply? Then mountain? Weeeeeee!

Oh bugger, baby's kicking off. Gotta go again :(

LaLaLaaaa · 31/08/2015 14:25

Ooooh he put himself back to sleep!!!

Oh - then farted and woke himself up again. Drat.

LaLaLaaaa · 31/08/2015 14:31

Ooh he's asleep again! Wow!

jelly I used to hug the dream genii - so arm would go underneath it :)

ga have fun on your last day - enjoy it!

YYes I was going to say the same thing about swaddling as sky - mind that it's not too hot. When miniLa was born we could only swaddle a handful of times because it was far too warm. You saw all these poor babies being swaddled with sleepsuits on in the boiling hot ward. My baby was in a nappy and swaddle! I totally recommend getting a gro egg for your room, as it tells you quickly what the temperature is and the colour-coding says whether it's too hot/cold for baby, so helps you know what to dress them in. MiniLa is an extra hot baby so I always put him in a layer less than recommended. Like today he is just in a vest. If I put anything else on him he comes out in a heat rash and is all clammy. If I try to put a blanket on him he kicks it off.

Physi - if you need it due to pregnancy you get referred for free. I had it for my SPD and it was great.

gaggiagirl · 31/08/2015 17:18

Hi la nice to see you!, I think its pretty certain that purple is next. She is going in 9 days for her section. Amazing!

purplewhale · 31/08/2015 17:20

Deeply any news?

8 days to go now...feck!
I'm not ready and my house is a mess! Where's the energy surge? It must appear after 38 weeks which will be too late for me. I need to tidy up, and find homes for baby things

NFMA the apricots overruled the cocodamol Smile

NFMT it's loads better today. I managed to get in the car without squealing!

We've been out for a drive in the dales and had lunch, plus Brymor ice cream Smile

CarrotPuff · 31/08/2015 18:14

Oh Ga what a twat. I hope you come up with a plan. Enjoy your last day!

La great to hear from you!

Unfortunately my DS hated being restrained. So no swaddle and no sling Sad

Purple very glad about your NFYT.

I've got a sudden energy burst this afternoon and done lots of tidying and hoovering. Feeling very proud of myself!

batfish · 31/08/2015 18:39

Can anyone educate me on sterilisers? I've seen microwave ones and electric ones and steam ones and non steam ones - what's best and what do you actually use them for other than bottles?!

honeysucklejasmine · 31/08/2015 18:55

Oh Ga that's bloody annoying.

Bat not yet consumed mussels but making plans with DF to find a bug bowl of moules mariner ASAP. Or an all you can eat shellfish buffet. Either way.

Rainbow trout with rice and veg for tea tonight. Love it.

Also... Watching the Edinburgh Tattoo. WTF, it is more like Eurovision for the common wealth with added bagpipes. We're a bit confused when it became more than the hugely impressive Scots bands.

Although the Swiss are hugely entertaining.

batfish · 31/08/2015 19:05

Mmm I had mussels and chips last week, delicious

purplewhale · 31/08/2015 19:06

Ga that's an arse. Can you make it his problem? Otherwise take her to work, you've no choice and it's your last day you wouldn't be doing much

Bat we have an electric one donated of course I'm not sure how much we will use it for initially. We've got dummies and bottles. I don't imagine we will need either in the first couple of weeks or we might be desperate for sleep
My understanding is we need to sterilise anything that will go in the babies mouth except my nipples so teats, bottles, dummies, nipple shields, plus anything that will hold milk the baby will drink

gaggiagirl · 31/08/2015 19:19

purple nah he's too twatfull to accept it as his problem. Manager hasn't got back to me to let me know if i can take her in or not. Urgh.
bat I had a little microwave steriliser that came with a bottle and a dummy it was tommee tippee. It was very quick, just put a little water in it and microwave it and the contents for 2 mins. Very small and effective. DD was breastfed and wouldn't take a dummy so I used it for teethers and bottles when she was older.

ThursdayLastWeek · 31/08/2015 20:09

My microwave steriliser worked perfectly (well, until I forgot to put water in one time and melted my pump [pump]). I'd recommend it bat.

I'm too stupid to figure out NFMT purple? I can't guess the T?? Help!

I'm making a super cheesy, super salty chicken Caesar salad that I hope would meet JS approval!

ga sounds like a right rotten way to say good bye Hmm

We went to the beach today, was not super dooper sunny but my sis and DS had a nice time.
