Armani so glad you guys are going to get back home. You'll be able to settle back into things before Christmas beautifully.

Hope that sounds really scary, did they take bloods? I imagine they will have sent the bloods off as an emergency and you'll have an answer within 24 hours. That's what happened with me. I think when the midwives worry they tend to close over. When my blood pressure leapt up they seemed so flustered I left feeling very confused and uninformed. Have a read of your notes, and any major changes see if you can head up to your triage/day assessment unit, peace of mind is the most important thing. For now feet up.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 15/12/2015 16:15

I'm just getting so fed up waiting to be discharged. I spent all of yesterday waiting then at 6pm they decided they wanted to keep me in. I'm worried the same thing will happen today.

Hope: definitely call triage, don't take chances like I did.

CuppaSarah · 15/12/2015 16:24

If you're up to it Armani can you go up to the desk and keep bugging them? After all you have been through, you don't need uncertainties stressing you out. I have my fingers crossed you'll be in your own bed tonight.

Tangoandcreditcards · 15/12/2015 16:40

I agree with cuppa, armani - bug as many people as possible about discharge, don't wait until the day shift is finished either. I'm a bit of an expert at getting myself discharged, after lots of hospital stays, make sure everyone knows you're champing at the bit to get you both home. And good luck!

hope - definitely call triage if you don't understand or want to know next steps, there are no silly questions and that's what they are there for. I hope you get some clarity and it's nothing too serious once your results come in. Sending Flowers

Fugghetaboutit · 15/12/2015 17:13

Got a manicure, pedi and eyebrows threaded today while ds was at nursery, been meaning to do it for months but hadn't got round to it. Nice to treat yourself once in a while, plus my toenails were looking v rough as I couldn't reach them!

Anyone else getting anything done before birth?

CuppaSarah · 15/12/2015 19:01

I'm not one for beauty treatments which my wild eyebrows and unkempt nails will testify to. But I did attempt some downstairs maintenance for the sake of the midwives. After months of neglect, it was not easy going in blind, dh commented it looks like a middle aged balding man Xmas Angry

Could be worse, my lovely friend in Cyprus gave up looking after downstairs too and went to the beech without checking. Apparently it looked like Chewbacca was playing peekabo. At least my pubic shame is private, except on here because who needs shame on an antenatal thread.

Really hoping you're discharged already Armani and hoping you haven't had any news yet hope, as no news is most likely good news. Either way you two take it as easy as you can Flowers

HopeItComesLate · 15/12/2015 19:05

Thanks everyone. Sorry about my rant and I hope you get home soon Armani. Blood pressure isn't that high really it's only 130/78 but it's normally around 110/60 so quite a jump.
I should hear back about blood tests and possible growth scan in the next couple of days so get more answers then. It was mainly her attitude that annoyed me.
Fugg a day of pampering sounds lovely you definitely deserve it the time you've had lately x

Tangoandcreditcards · 15/12/2015 19:58

I had my annual (head) haircut 6 weeks ago... I think my body would go into shock if I did any actual primping or pampering and it's probably not safe at this late stage of pregnancy! cuppa When DS was crowning and they told me he had a full head of hair, I wasn't quite sure until he was out. 😁

Feel better hope - you rant away, it's rotten to be unsure and feel like you aren't getting the support you want. We're here for you.

Hope you got home armani.

Fugghetaboutit · 15/12/2015 20:02

I desperately need a haircut too. I'm so low maintenance but know it'll be forever until I can get anything done with a newborn and toddler in winter!

Was a nice treat to get nails done, feet soaked and massaged was blissful.

Finally got the cot (snuzpod) up and it looks so cute! Not sure how to get the side down and attached to bed yet.
Got ds' old car seat out and it was gross! Needed to watch a YouTube vid on how to remove the cover and took me, H and my dad to figure it out! Now to get it back on...

CuppaSarah · 15/12/2015 21:01

Fugg nothing wrong with a bit of pampering when you're pregnant!! It sounds very relaxing, and you have entirely earnt it. The Snuzpod looks so adorable and snuggly, you'll have to let us know if it lives up to the reviews! I'm keen to get a cosleeper crib if we have another baby in the future.

Hope you rant away, when you're that stressed and feeling vulnerable you have to let it out. Hopefully your results will be clear and you can relax. But take it as easy as you can, assume the worst but hope for the best!

I've been reminded how desperately I need a haircut right now. I am in ponytail everyday territory.

Tango I had the same concern last time, my choice to sort it out this time was nothing to do with the fact I went into labour the day I was going to sort it last time.... Nothing at all.

HopeItComesLate · 16/12/2015 22:08

Well blood test came back fine so going to make a dr appointment too get some cream for this rotten itch. They do blood pressure and urine dip as standard anyway so that should either put my mind at rest or flag up any problems. Thankyou so much everyone for the support I'm trying so hard not to worry anyone else it definitely helps to have somewhere I can be an irrational wreck lol.
Any signs of any babies? I think mine might actually be late. I'm in two minds about how I feel about that. Happy we will be all ready in our own home vs don't want to be a huge itchy waddling wreck for another 3 weeks 😱
Anyway can't wait to hear about the next appearance hope everyone had a nice relaxing day xx

CuppaSarah · 17/12/2015 07:56

Yay fab news Hope, so glad to hear it. It'll be good to get some reassurance at the gp too.

I woke up at half 2 with regular pains, got all excited. They kept coming and I couldn't doze between them. By 5/6 they had all but fizzeled out. At that point I was in the lounge wide awake. I managed to kip on the sofa till DD got up an hour ago, but I am wrecked. 4 weeks of this potentially, not impressed. Trying to give dh a lay in then I am back to bed.

Fugghetaboutit · 17/12/2015 08:08

Cuppa - I would hate that! Stop start labour would drive me batty.

Hope - that's good news, try not to worry too much I'm sure you'll be fine

Woke up at 3am and could get back to sleep until 4.30, then ds woke at 5 Xmas Confused long day ahead

CuppaSarah · 17/12/2015 08:11

No sleep for us lot today it seems!!

Fugghetaboutit · 17/12/2015 08:16
Sad

Ds has his nativity later too, I'm thinking he'll be due a nap at that time because of waking so early. I might keep him home, they said it's fine

sherbertlemon17 · 17/12/2015 08:24

Great news hope! Glad everything is looking good now. Will you still get your growth scan?

Armani- glad to hear that you should be home now with your LO.

Good work Fugg. You definitely deserve a day of pampering.

Cuppa, I feel your frustration. I had the stop starting for a week. It is literally the most frustrating thing in the world and makes you an irrational fool!

Well, I'm now part of the new mummy club! We have our brand new baby girl and she is literally the cutest thing I have ever seen! She was born yesterday 16th December at 03:02 and weighs 6lb 12oz. Teeny tiny! Still in hospital today so she can have her heart monitored, she's doing well so far 😍

Fugghetaboutit · 17/12/2015 08:29

Congratulations!! Amazing news sherbert! Xmas Smile hope everything went well X

CuppaSarah · 17/12/2015 08:30

Eeeee congratulations Sherbert!! She is so tiny! I hope the monitoring goes well today. I also hope you're feeling well! Enjoy the newborn cuddles, I bet she is just too scummy. I am very very envious.

Fugg could you take him out for a massive walk and exhaust him so he naps earlier? Or drive him round in the car till he drops off?

Tangoandcreditcards · 17/12/2015 08:42

Congratulations sherbert - enjoy and hope you all get home in good time. Glad to hear she's doing well.

Poor you, fugg. I was awake from 3am until DS got up too (6ish I think, it's hazy). Luckily DP hasn't got any work on today, so I've gone back to bed. I feel hungover.

hope glad you got some good news. Hang in there. A week until Xmas eve.

cuppa - I was like that on Tues night, BH pains, sweats and nausea on and off all night. Since then, nada. Foot tappingly impatient now.

Rest easy sleepless ones.

Tangoandcreditcards · 17/12/2015 08:43

Almost forgot - armani - seriously hope you guys are home now. X

Fugghetaboutit · 17/12/2015 09:28

My dads coming down and will take him out for me so no worries. He's so good, sitting watching toy story :)

I really want my baby before Christmas!! I want to be able to eat LOADS on Christmas Day/Boxing Day - whereas now If I eat a normal plate of food I feel so full and get indigestion Xmas Sad

I'm getting v worried this one will come on Christmas Day too like ds..

Tangoandcreditcards · 17/12/2015 09:44

I'm so with you fugg on wanting this baby out of my digestive space before Xmas day. We've ordered dinner from M&S to keep it simple, but I want to be able to stuff my face enjoy it. I'm also dreading an Xmas day delivery because the thought of giving birth with BIL in the house is unappealing to say the least!

My worst day would be this Sat though (as it's my nephew's b'day, and DS already stole DB's own bday, and I'm supposed to be going 100 miles to my Dad's that day), so need to avoid that if I can!

NoArmaniNoPunani · 17/12/2015 12:06

We got home yesterday, so happy

Christmas and New Year's Babies - thread 2 (20w scans right around the corner)
CuppaSarah · 17/12/2015 12:16

Oh my goodness Armani what a tiny cutie!!! So glad you are both home, must be such a relief to be able to just get back on with it all.

Oh Tango no one was able to get any sleep past 3am were they? Glad your dh is able to help you out today.

Fugg that's so kind of your dad!

I quite want to be pregnant for Christmas, I've been carrying quite low so have lots of tummy space and I do not deal with broken sleep too well.

I got dh up at 9 then went back to bed. Until I was woken up by suspicious giggling and found DD inside the duvet case. Little minx snuck in while dh was wahing up. Midwife at half 1 fingers crossed the protien has left my wee and my blood pressures nice and low again. I end up with a blood test every single appointment at the moment.

CuppaSarah · 17/12/2015 15:04

Back from the midwife and stupidly happy to be 4/5ths engaged plus all my pre-esclampsia signs have gone. The midwife suggested I go to the birthing unit, not a home birth as I'm a bit anaemic and she worried about me bleeding when emergency services will be so busy over the holiday period.

I'd of loved a home birth, but the birthing unit was just redone and it apparently more like a day spa. So I think I will cope. After all the health scares I'm just pleased to be low risk again.

My dads ex is some kind of baby engaging witch. I carried a pot for her last pregnancy and DD dropped down and was born the next day. Yesterday we were late to meet her and I went over a speed bump too fast and felt babies head drop. Anyone not engaged yet? Shall I send her over?
