Zaza's many congrats to you and your dp. Another pink one!!

Greengirlforever · 24/11/2006 15:12

This April thread is just going to have to be called girl power! I can't believe how many pink ones we are having.

Zazas that you can't give birth in your local birthing unit because of a C-section. Isn't it ridiculous that you can give birth at home with even less of what "they" perceive as help and intervention at hand but can't deliver at a midwife unit just because you had a previous C-section! My friend had 2 C-sections on the trot followed by a successful home delivery in water so you go girl! Obviously you will have to play it by ear to a certain extent but she seems to be behaving herself so far !

doghouse · 24/11/2006 15:24

Hi Everyone and welcome to Yvie! Congrats on all the scans and thinking of you Pesha. I know logic tells you not to worry too much and that is what we would all say but is easy when it is not you. Hope you get another scan soon to put your mind at rest.

I had my Lula Sapphire delivery yesterday too CK - lovely stuff isn't it?! Soooo cute. Bought a swaddling blanket and a cute stripey sleepsuit! Will look into this amby nest thingy though - sounds good.

am getting a 2nd hand Bugaboo from my sister's best friend and my sister already has one so I have test driven it - they seem great I have to admit despite the hefty price tag.

Love the name Darcey btw (can't remember who asked). We like Amelia and Rosie but ATM Alice is favourite.

Have a lovely weekend everyone & keep safe in these gales!

1becomes3 · 24/11/2006 16:26

doghouse- Amelia is my choice for pink name
Still don't have a blue name.

zaza-OMG another PINK, congratulations.

Where are all the willies, we are surrounded by hamburgers!

CornflakeKid · 24/11/2006 16:28

Congrats on scan zazas and welcome to Yvie.

Doghouse - it is really lovely stuff - have you tried swaddling a teddy yet??!!!! I have tried new cloth nappies and wraps on teddies to see how they fit, have swaddled them but have yet to get them dressed! Sounds completely nuts I know!

I am home alone tonight - really tired after work - looking forward to a BIG sleep zzzzzzzzzz

My scan is on monday at 11.30am - very excited and worried at the same time! I already think it is going to be big!

YvieE · 24/11/2006 17:00

Hi again ladies,

Thanks for making me feel so welcome, I started writing down your nicknames to thank you personally...after number 7 I gave up!!! But it really is great to have other mums to be to chat to. Funny enough I have three cousins who are also due next year, one in Jan, Feb and May but we are all first timers so we don't know what we doing.
Weeonion I'm 29 and my scan date is on the 18th December - so another three weeks to go yet. I'm not bothered about knowing the sex, but my DP definitely wants to know.
Pesha - you sound exactly like I do at 10:41pm!! but my thoughts are with you.
Cornflake Kid - good Luck with your scan
Little frog, Maveta , Zazas and 1becomes3 thanks for convincing me that I'm not imaging it

emmymummy · 24/11/2006 18:57

Evening, just popping in to say hello before I put dd to bed. Have just been scanning the Blooming Marvellous website - some maternity clothes in the sale, so may well be placing an order later. Am a bit obsessed with maternity clothes right now as they seem to have improved drastically since last time I was pregnant (5 years ago). I'm sure the thrill will wear off soon. Here's something that will be TMI I'm sure - was 'doing' my bikini line in the shower this morning and I nearly can't see it! Will have to either get dh to do it or get it waxed (owwww). See told you TMI .

Welcome Yvie, and congrats on the pink one Zazas. What is going on with all these girls? Only 3 weeks until we find out what we're having. Dd has been telling everyone that she's coming to the next scan, but the sonographer is going to have to whisper the sex of the bean to dh & I as dd will blab to all and sundry!

CaptainDippy · 24/11/2006 19:27

Well Done! to your wee DS being dry at night pesha, bless him - hope it is another good one tonight!!

SOL - Your dizziness etc could be your iron levels - I recommend Flouradix - it is liquid iron supplement, available from most Lentil-Weaving Shops - doesn't give you the horrendeous constipation the tabs do!! Nice!

Congratulations!! on the Hamburger of Pinkness ZaZas - we are inundated!

PMSL @ 1B3 - "Where are the willies, we are surrounded by hamburgers!!" - Definitely have to call the next thread that!!

I am knackered. DH and I are going to pack up our books tonight - no mean feat, we've got HUNDREDS!!!! ARGH!!!! So he has gone to Sainsburys to pick up some fruit boxes - and some cookies ..... Yum!!

Ooooh Yvie - another late one - my scan is on 20/12 and I was beginning to feel a little left behind!!

Sexonlegs · 24/11/2006 19:49

Hiya all. CD, thanks for the tip re iron stuff. I think though I may have a virusy thing as feel chilled and a bit fluish (is there a word??)
Hopefully a good night sleep will sort me out.
Hope everyone is ok, and that the scans have gone well. Still no sign of Ange?
See you all later. xx

oooggs · 24/11/2006 19:49

Hi all - I had my scan on wednesday and they are both there kicking away. Have no idea what flavour they are but DH is convinced there were 'no willies' to be seen, but did he know what he was looking for?????

I am convinced there is one of each, we will see.

Currently decorating ds's bedroom has he is having to move into the smaller double and needs a big boy bed so trying to do that before Christmas.

Know when I want to return to work, but not sure when I am going to leave, twins can be so unpredictable, will have to see how I am fairing up.

Hope all is well. Take Care xx

YvieE · 24/11/2006 19:53

CaptainDippy glad to know I've got company - i'm counting the weeks. Another peek a boo and scan picture will be a brilliant Christmas present. Did any of you have the triple\quaddruple test at approx week 16? My mw said they didn't offer it, just a nuchal at 12 weeks...I thought you were supposed to have both???

doghouse · 24/11/2006 19:54

CK - thanks for tip on swaddling teddy (and for nappy testing)! What a good idea!

May get DH practicing too!

CaptainDippy · 24/11/2006 19:54

Hope you feel better soon, SOL!

Great news on your nice healthy Beans at your scan ooogs! So DH thinks it's a double Hamburger now does he!!!? Hope the rest of your decorating goes well ......

YvieE · 24/11/2006 19:58

Hi Oooggs

Glad to hear the scan went well. My boss asked me the other day when my mat leave was likely to start and end. I know I have a bit of time before I have to tell them officially but I have absolutelty no idea, are you taking 9 months off?

liath · 24/11/2006 19:59

Hi folks,

Welcome Yvie! Congratulations zazas on your pink one! It's my scan on monday - I can't believe it's 20 weeks already - halfway through !

Was so busy at work today I didn't even get lunch, The Bump was not happy and made me get a really unhealthy fried chicken take-away when I got home .

Hope everyone has a good weekend planned. We're going to do as little as possible. Might go for Dim Sum if it's not blowing a hurricaine - the forecast is dreadful.

Katy44 · 24/11/2006 20:06

Hi everyone and welcome Yvie!

WestCountryLass · 24/11/2006 21:02

Yes, there deffo seems lots of baby girls coming

Welcome to the newbies!

eca · 24/11/2006 21:21

Quick hello!
Congrats to Zazas

GGF-gonna have a look at these Amby Nests, sounds lovely, but know probably out of price range for us!

had a manic day, family over then dh was up all night with toothache and had an emergency dental app today.

Now we're sat here waiting for friends to arrive who are coming for a 'surprise' weekend visit - dh told me coz he thought I needed the warning!

Am soooo tired. And our spare room has had people in it all week. Lovely to see them, but very draining.

And to really turn the pressure up the couple visiting us tonight had a HUGE fall out with me because I couldn't make it to a bridesmaid dress fitting in Sept/Oct. We've made up now, but it's tense.

Does anyone else find that their friendships go a bit haywire when pregnant?

SOL hope you feel better soon. Hot water with fresh lemonjuice and honey is a great remedy . You prob knew that!

Take care!
eca x

1becomes3 · 24/11/2006 21:44

YvieE- I haven't had any test at all I could have had the nuchal scan but had to have the amnio as well, so I said no to that.
(Mind you I suppose twins are different from a single so don't listen to me I am just waffling on.)
Although I didn't have any tests with DD as I didn't find out I was pg till 20 weeks.

Eca- I wouldn't worry about the whole friendship thing, I haven't spoken to some of mine since september.
Haven't seen most of them in ages aswell.
We (being the pg ones) have a good excuse It is called "Pregnancy Brain" it effects every part of normal life.
I still haven't remembered to pay my council tax this month OOOOOOPS!

Have a good weekend all I am off to Bath to wonder round the market then to Wales to see the evil SC
(Here's praying that SS2 is in a better mood this time)

LOL

AngeG · 24/11/2006 21:57

Hi all. Wow you lot can talk!!!

Haven't been on since Thursday because somebody has been borrowing my laptop.

Hope everyone ok. Haven't had a chance to catch up yet.

Pesha - Sorry to read about your scan. Although I think the others are right that normally the cysts disappear and don't cause any problems. They're soft markers rather than definites of a problem. Still a scan later on might help to put your mind at rest. Great news about the first blue bean.

I had my scan yesterday. No colour for me - sorry. Where I have my scan in Portsmouth it's their policy not to tell you the sex. There are even signs in the waiting room asking you not to pressure the sonogapher into looking. Kind of removed the question really.

Everything looked fine so far. Lots of fluid and baby about the right size for my dates. Great news. But obviously for me a long way to go yet.

After the scan last night. Bean decided to really make it's presence known, but turning sumersaults. You could actually see my stomach moving, which was lovely but weird.

Sorry to not mention anyone else. Have been Christmas shopping today and again tomorrow. My SPD is really sore but I need to get it all done.

Hope everyone ok
Love and Hugs to you all xx

AngeG · 24/11/2006 22:04

Great news about your scan Twinkle and another Pink Bean.

I used the chinese fortune calendar thing the other night which takes into account date of conception etc and it says pink, and it was right last time with DS. I think it might well be blue though.

CaptainDippy · 24/11/2006 22:07

Great news on the scan AngeG! Are you interested in coming to our SE-ish meet-up??

Off to bed, exhausted and in pain ......
