Just wanted to add my congrats to Pesha (you had us all worried!); like everyone else, I think you should push for a 28 week scan, but am sure it will just mean putting your mind at rest. Blue bean! Only two blues so far. I have no sense at all of whether mine is pink or blue, and can't WAIT to know.

weeonion · 23/11/2006 17:33

when i think of this bean - all i can imagine is a blue one, always refer to it as a boy etc etc which is strange as dp and I always talked about a pinkie. my family is running bets - so far only my dad thinks its a girl. boys have always been born first on both sides of the family.

less than a week til we find out. aint telling anyone and i know someone else asked - but does it count if i tell you???

Katy44 · 23/11/2006 17:35

weeonion, no - tell us!
runnyhabit, is it not fairly likely that everyone else does the same?

Katy44 · 23/11/2006 17:36

Oooh, guess my name next! :D

weeonion · 23/11/2006 17:46

katy44 - can i guess first - woudl it be ....... katy??

runnyhabit - i used to manage a team and i reality we all know that staff use the internet for personal use. it should come as no shock to him. i think he should look on it favourably that you told him. as long as you havent been spendign hours looking at naked hunks etc etc - you should be fine.

bubblez · 23/11/2006 17:59

Hiya all,

congrats pesha on a blue bean!! 1/371 is very low and I'm sure that baby will be fine . But I agree a sooner scan will help put your mind at rest and I'm sure that they can't disagree.

How have your scans gone Ange, Twinkle and Zazas?? Any news on flavours??

Baby names ummmmmm, was thinking of Nikkita and have been put off by x-factor girl. So now I love Leona (fil name is leon) and Sienna (just sounds very pretty I think) for girl. Oh and seeing as there is a slim pos that baby was hiding a 'ding dong' boys names have been thought of. The only one that dp wants is Rahiem (he wants an asian name if it is a boy, dunno why he doesn't if it is a girl) dp is 1/2 indian from jamacia IYSWIM...LOL

BTW love Elaina.

Good luck to all those having scans soon.

xzx

bubblez · 23/11/2006 18:01

ooooooooo name guessing........Katty44 = Kathrine maybe ?!?!

hotlipsmummy · 23/11/2006 18:08

Bubblez - agree with your names altho I'd have Leone (pronouced Leonie) to avoid X-Factor associations. It's been a fav name of mine for years. And Siena spelt with 1 n like the place. In fact that is probably going to be a middle name if we have a girl - will match DS's middle name of Roman.

CaptainDippy · 23/11/2006 18:09

I think Katy44's real name is Bob.

bubblez - ooooh, your children must be gorgeous!!

Feeling v.tired, but going to a Women's Focus Group meeting at local hospital tonight, so need to wake myself up a little ..... Bump is hungry!

BTW - it is Deborah!!

bubblez · 23/11/2006 18:15

AAHHH I'm glad someone else likes them names, I've decided that I'm not going to listen to my/his family's opionion on the name that we pick this time as there is no peasing some people . I don't really mind the association with the x-factor's leona as I think that she is such a beatiful girl and has such a soft personality and indearing quality. Leone is deffinately a beatiful name too imo..

bubblez · 23/11/2006 18:19

Ah thank you CD - In my eyes my dd is v-beatiful but you would never guess that her dad is 1/2 indian from jamacia and 1/2 guianeese (sp)(south american) you would just think that she is greek (like me) and you would think that I am english....lol Will be interesting to see how if this one takes on more west indian features etc...

bubblez · 23/11/2006 18:19

oooooo dinners here!!! got to go fill my stomach...

Hope that everyones scans went well...xx

Speak tomorrow

maveta · 23/11/2006 18:31

god these posts really stack up in no time, don´t they?!
Sorry to hear you had a bit of a scare Pesha but congrats on your little boy! We are so terrible, aren´t we? someone tells us there is a chance of something and we rush to the internet which OF COURSE tells us all the worst possible outcomes! I am exactly the same and it is terrible.
I am convinced ours is a boy but not for any real reason and we will be thrilled with either. We had a nightmare with names because we have to make sure it a) exists b)sounds good and c) is pronouncable in 3 languages. We have decided on Noa for a girl and Noah if it´s a boy. This way we can already call it by its name without knowing what it is! Apparently it means ´peaceful one´which I thought was a good omen!! and also ´long life´.
We have NO baby stuff yet but will be given a moses basket and a bugaboo from my sil so that will be less things to buy thank goodness. both sils have babies of around 1 year right now and neither likely to have more in the near future so hopefully by april they will be ready to offload a heap more things too!
Phew what an essay

twinkle183 · 23/11/2006 18:50

Congrats on your scan Pesha espcially on your blue flavour!!! I am sure that everything will be fine!

Well guys sorry for the late reply with my scan results!! The baby was laying funny so had to go and have a cup of tea, cos the baby was hiding in my pelvis for most of the scan!!!

Everything was fine, they checked for Spina Bifida cos I have it and it was all fine so all good!!

I also am having a pink bean however sonographer said she was only 75% sure cos the baby had the cord between her legs but had said that she was pretty sure that it was a girl!! However we have chosen a name for a boy just incase a willy pops out!!

Evelyn Catherine fir a girl and Elliot Scott for a boy!!

Take care

Twinkle183 (20+5)

Sexonlegs · 23/11/2006 18:53

CornflakeKid · 23/11/2006 19:32

Great news Twinkle - you never mentioned before about the spina bifida - not that you should have to - but it must have been a worry for you - well done, congrats and big hugs xoxoxoxoxoxo

emmymummy · 23/11/2006 20:52

Hello all, haven't posted for ages - every time I come on here to post I end up reading and reading and then brain gets overloaded and then can't think of anything to say. Ho hum preg brain.

Pesha - I'm sure little blue bean will be fine honey. Just push for the 28 week scan, otherwise you'll go nuts with the uncertainty, but as I say, I'm sure all will be well as the risk is soooo low.

Have heard of 2 new people who are pregnant today: another mum from dd's school and a girl at work who did the test in the loo today, got a slight pink dot, rushed out and bought another test kit and got a blue cross. Am thrilled for her as she'd been told she only had a very slim chance of having a baby, but still worried as she has literally told everyone today. Can you all please cross your fingers and toes for her? Thanks .

Have a lovely day off work tomorrow. Bliss. Dd is at school so am going to try to tackle a bit of a wardrobe / spare room clear out - gotta make some space for bean who has nothing at the moment. You lot are all making me anxious about all the stuff we're going to need again (even though we've been through all this before I think new bean is going to be getting new buggy, car seat etc etc, so need to get shopping once we've cleared some space). Oh dear what a shame .

emmymummy · 23/11/2006 20:54

SOL - are you Claire?

Sexonlegs · 23/11/2006 20:57

Hi Emmymummy, glad you are well, and hope you have a good day tomorrow.

Ladies, just to say CD and I are on another thread trying to sort out a get together in Southampton. Come on down!!

Sexonlegs · 23/11/2006 20:58

Emmymummy, 100% Claire, and spelt properly!
Congrats, you may have a spoon of my cookie dough ice cream! x
