Ah, I knew it would be CD to the rescue (right name for it ). And a GREAT thread name

weeonion · 22/11/2006 19:50

well done CD - how many threads have we gone through now??

runnyhabbit · 22/11/2006 20:09

Nice title

Back to the name game - lots of "mature" people have commented that because ds names has religious connections, then we'll be going all the same lines for this one There were so many names we went off when we found out their meanings, that in the end we decided not to worry about the meaning at all. Possibly very naive (and ignorant?) of us, but our surname is also a girls name, so it's been quite tricky finding a name that flows, iykwim.
One thing we decided on was that we would not name any of our children after anybody in the family. Although I do like fil name, but would feel guilty about not using my dads name, iyswim.

We could always name our beans after where they were concieved so that it'll be either "bed", "bedroom" or "home" for us!

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 20:13

I was named after the place that I was concieved....

CaptainDippy · 22/11/2006 20:17

OMG....haven't been on for a few days and there's just too much to catch up on. When I finally decided to give up and just post a new message I discovered a new thread had been started while I was trying to catch up!

Well I had my 20 week scan on Thursday...all well. All the measurements were fine and everything was how it should be. Baby had its feet above its head though...perhaps planning on being a gymnast!!! Also we decided to find out the flavour! PINK!

Would have liked a boy really cos we'd picked a name....now having to try and think of girls names that we both like (easier said than done!).

Mum & Dad have been here since Thursday and went home today. Dad's been building us a patio and the weather stayed fine so that was lucky! The patio is looking good although he's going to extend it past our shed (brick) and add a step next time he comes if the weather is ok! We're very impressed tho but he's now got a bad back.

They also treated us to a few bits for baby...it's taking over the house and it's not here yet!!!! Bought our pram and car seat already...don't want to tempt fate or anything but I'm Miss Organised according to hubby...i like to know stuffs sorted IYKWIM.

Am with a restaurant we went to. Took parents out to thank them for hard work and for Dad's b'day and it was crap. Took AGES to take our order, then waited about 45 mins for food, DH had to chase them about it. They brought out everything but mums and then hers came 10 mins later and they brought the wrong thing (mash instead of chips - mash had garlic in and mum can't eat it) so mum ended up with nothing and our chips were minging. We complained and they were only going to knock 10% off (cunningly disguised as 20% discount but 10% service charge added). We made her knock some more off and then I was cheeky and asked her to round it down to £25 which she did. Can't believe it, they hd no idea of what customer service is...totally ruined our treat for them.

Well off for a long soak in the bath....will try to catch up tomorrow.

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 20:30

should possibly have said the place/plant on which I was concieved.....

CaptainDippy · 22/11/2006 20:37

GMM- have got DH trying to figure out what your name is. Is it Heather? thats my guess I know it's not a place but there is a lot of it in scotland if that's where the conceiving took place.

My name means Tree in arabic. (It shouldn't but....... my parents spelt it wrong )

CaptainDippy · 22/11/2006 20:59

geordiemacminx · 22/11/2006 21:03
