Saw midwife today. Heartbeat was strong and the baby was moving loads. She also fitted me in for another appt before christmas.

I think I've fallen in love with the Bugaboo Chameleon pushchair. Bit pricy though. Anyone have any experience of these??

19+6 (Halfway tomorrow!)

gmm - seems a bit long of a gap between appts - nearly 12 weeks??

geordiemacminx · 23/11/2006 12:04

I know.. she said I will get a letter re blood tests (spina bifida and downs) in a couple of weeks and other than that I'll see her in Feb... Still not to worry, I'm sure I'll be on the fone to her if there is anything wrong.. other than that its fine as I need to take a half day off work for each appointment, which I dont get paid for.

weeonion · 23/11/2006 12:13

maybe i am wrong but i think the spina bifida and downs tests had to be done before 22weeks?

geordiemacminx · 23/11/2006 12:16

Yeah - they did them at the m/w appointment on Monday, high or low risk back within 2 weeks.

geordiemacminx · 23/11/2006 12:17

Soz - just realised it wasnt very clear - meant that I will get a results letter, they took the blood on Monday - I have the bruises to prove it!!

Sexonlegs · 23/11/2006 12:56

Hi loves, saw my lovely mw/friend of 10 years and heard the heartbeat which was lovely. It was quite quiet and she thinks he/she must be tucked away! I am seeing her again before Christmas as well which is great.
Love all this name guessing!
CD, Diana? Davina? Debbie?

Need to go, as loads to do still before pick up dd.

Pesha, I hope everything is ok sweetheart.

xx

CaptainDippy · 23/11/2006 13:47

Afternoon - can't be too long as I need to crack on with the housework -

How is everyone!!? I'm not so bad, sooo glad the DD's are at nursery now! Boy, they are hard work.

You've had me spulttering into my tea with your guesses at my name!! 1B3 - Doris!! Honestly!!? eca - Delilah! Halarious! and runny - Dorothy! - I think not!! SOL has been the closest so far ...... (Very close in fact, except I hate that shortening with a passion!!) Keep going .....

Elena is a gorgeous name!!

Glad your mw appointment was good Smole, wish I had a nice mw Ho Hum .....

DH and I have both been having awful horrid dreams about this baby, Bramshott. Never experienced anything like this before, really horrid. Don't really want to divulge all the details, but judst unspeakably horrid.

Sorry about that - lowering the tone ......

Best crack on .....

Any progress on a South East (ish) type meeting?? I'll start a thread ....

eca · 23/11/2006 13:53

Deborah!?!

Sorry about Delilah CD should have realised you're not that type!

eca · 23/11/2006 13:57

Advice needed...

I put my jeans on today, which are usually loose and hanging off me and they are so tight! Bump starting to get bigger, but not felt any movements yet. Am 19+5 with no.1. Should I be starting to feel something soon??

I've read about 'flutterings' but the only thing that might be the babe feels more like a baby elephant plonking around in there.

What do you think? tia

CaptainDippy · 23/11/2006 14:03

That's ok eca - made me LOL tbh!!

You're right!! It is Deborah, but most people call me Debs. I detest being called Debbie / Debby / Debi with a passion!

Did I say I was going to crack on .....

CaptainDippy · 23/11/2006 14:04

BTW - I didn't feel any movement til I was about 24 weeks with my 1st, I wouldn't worry too much honey - it is different for everyone, and definitely a lot later with your 1st. xx

eca · 23/11/2006 14:13

thanks CD, thought that would probably be the case but for some reason have been worrying about it the last few days.

Didn't know Deborah meant honey bee, that's so sweet!

doobydoo · 23/11/2006 14:14

Hi all.I have enjoyed reading the guessing of names..v.funny.Mine can mean protector of men and is also a medical condition[which is nice]
I too am worried about Pesha.I hope we hear from her soon.
Don't worry eca it is quite usual not to feel anything yet
Dp is in IKEA.We are getting one in Dublin next year or 2 and i have to say i cannot wait i think they are fab for kids stuff,in particular and so cheap.Things seem expensive here sometimes and the choice isn't always as extensive.
Unfortunately he only has a small amount of room left in the car and it wasn't a planned trip but he has got a few bits..i am really excited..and shallow
His fastferry was cancelled today cos of gale warnings so instead of the slow one[which he would have missed anyway]he is coming home tomorrow.
I am looking forward to him feeling bean move.
Hope we all ok today.
