Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 34th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 34th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Will do pretzel!
How long should we keep cat out of the living room/bedrooms etc for? She's currently banished to the utility room and is so not happy about it.

WilHarlot · 02/08/2015 19:46

Ha Gaggia my nephew went and loved it.

WouldRatherHaveCake · 02/08/2015 19:54

toast you poor thing, been there so know your pain. We were told at the vets that anywhere the cats had been we had to treat, especially as it was summer. He said we also had to spray the skirting boards. I was pregnant at the time too! Got the OH to treat the house (especially the sofas) and we all just went out for the day . The vets gave us this spray - unfortunately we bought from them so it cost over £20 and said it was what they recommended.

LaLaLaaaa · 02/08/2015 19:57

Another vote for Indorex spray - best thing to use for house and you only need to keep cats out for hour or two (check label)

For cats themselves try advocate, it works better for mine than Frontline

LaLaLaaaa · 02/08/2015 19:57

You can buy both from viovet or similar for cheap

jellypi3 · 02/08/2015 20:25

toast the eggs can stay in carpet and wooden flooring for months on end so you do need to treat the house. Indorex is the best stuff out there, it kills the fleas, eggs and larvae. Also get the pets treated with flea treatment. I hate fleas!!!

la love that you're still get animal advice!

jellypi3 · 02/08/2015 20:25

giving

jellypi3 · 02/08/2015 20:33

Would I be mad to put off buying any major baby stuff until the Jan sales, considering this baby is due jan 28.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 02/08/2015 20:38

Sky I wouldn't feel bad about planning alone. Your DP might genuinely not be interested in any of the planning. My DH and I agreed what sort of wedding we wanted, and a budget, but he would rather have stuck pins in his eyes that actually be involved in any of the organisation.

pretzel - I am super impressed that your kids are taking your name, and whoever the other viroid was that has done the same. I haven't changed my name after marriage, and have been insistent that our children take both our names.

honeysucklejasmine · 02/08/2015 20:38

La! How are you?!

oneyorkshirepud · 02/08/2015 20:53

Ooh I was genuinely concerned about where I would get animal advice from now that La has an important wee man to look after but it is good to see that you are still taking care of us La! Grin

Yes to advocate and the house spray. When we had fleas in the house it was pretty obvious gross. We had a blanket on the sofa and when you lifted it up there was flea dirt under it vom! so we sprayed the whole house. Now I just use advocate once a month and that seems to be fine. We were using crappy supermarket stuff before.

LaLaLaaaa · 02/08/2015 21:28

Where did my message go? Big message gone :(

Hello!

Had quick catch up - no chance I'll be able to fully catch up as I've missed so much! How are you all?

Ga - wtf is wrong with people!!!? When we bought our flat it was my money deposit but both names on mortgage. Everyone assumed the would be lead person but it was me. This stuff really gets my goat!

Many of my academia colleagues kept their names when they got married, because they were linked to past work and publications. I only took Mr Las name because i hated mine and liked his. Soooo much shorter and easier filling in forms!

How's the bucket fanny indigo and how's it being top of the list? I'm excited about the next wave of grads babies!

We are doing well, we came home from hospital on Friday and we are settling in. DS is a great feeder and at our 5 day weigh in today he had only lost 1.5oz which is brilliant. He's a boob fiend.

I wasn't loving bf at first because it hurt when my milk came in but now I really enjoy it. I am going to start expressing some though because dh really wants to help with feeds. We've ordered the medela swing pump. I used the medela symphony in the hospital and it was really easy to use.

Dh is being brilliant - keeping people at bay, changing nappies, helping me because my stitches are sore

jellypi3 · 02/08/2015 21:38

waves hey la :) glad to hear you are ok and settling in at home. Your DS is just a crummy :) we viroids pop out some gorgeous bubbas.

jellypi3 · 02/08/2015 21:38

That's meant to be scrummy!! Damn phone

pretzelpieces · 02/08/2015 21:38

Aw la so glad DP is pulling his weight and that little one is a boob fiend!

Similar for us, we're not married but dp insists we each keep our own names whatever because we're each published under them.

gouda thank you. It would be great if we can get to the point where any choice is seen as equally valid in terms of surnames. It should be!

ThursdayLast · 02/08/2015 21:59

Well done La BFing gets easier and easier and easier, you've done the hard bit now. So glad you're home, I hope your section heals nicely. I found feeding lying down really handy.

I kept my name because I'm a feminist bad ass.
Not really. I kept it coz its mine Grin. DS has DH surname, I'm not that fussed.

Hope everyone's ok, I've had quite a nice day.

Glad to hear you are home and doing okay La!

honeysucklejasmine · 02/08/2015 22:01

Ahhh, lively update La! And thanks for typing it twice!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 02/08/2015 22:05

Glad to hear you're doing well la

Purpleball · 02/08/2015 22:18

Glad you're doing well La Smile

I took DHs name when we got married. I didn't see any reason not to. It didn't matter to him whether I did or not but I wanted to. I'm quite conventional though. If he'd had a horrible name then I wouldn't have though, nor would I have given children it either.

Toast85 · 02/08/2015 22:36

Thanks for the flea advice! Will look into indorex then. And vacuum like there is no tomorrow. Cat appears to have resigned herself to her fate of being stuck in utility room overnight, looking rather forlorn every time I go in there. Poor baby cat.

La, lovely to hear from you. Glad the boobing is going well!

LaLaLaaaa · 03/08/2015 04:43

Is there no 5am club anymore? Were me and dulcet it?

gaggiagirl · 03/08/2015 06:44

I think so la! Great to hear you're home safe.
Happy Monday everyone. I've got maggots in my wheelie bin....VOM.

jellypi3 · 03/08/2015 06:55

I did wake up at 5, but forced myself straight back to bed!

Maggots! Bleugh!

DulcetMoans · 03/08/2015 06:58

Up for a different reason for 5amclub this time. Luckily I was allowed to sleep past it today. Only to 6 though.

Eurgh, maggots. I hate that ga. I just tipped boiling bleach water in there last time.

And fleas toast, nightmare! Hopefully all that action has got rid!
