Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 34th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The 34th grads fred is here

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 51st outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yes 24/25 weeks. I just wondered if it was worth you making an appointment sooner to discuss your anxiety a bit? See if she can out your mind at rest/give you some tips for coping?

jellypi3 · 03/08/2015 10:48

I agree looking, call your midwife if you are worried.

Regarding the "pops" and twitches, early on do you feel them in your lower abdomen where your uterus is?

oneyorkshirepud · 03/08/2015 10:53

Ooh yep, surprisingly low down, did you feel something? Smile

jellypi3 · 03/08/2015 11:01

I'm not sure, I felt something (could of been gas) but then also felt a fluttering slightly higher up! Random twiches lol!

RPopz · 03/08/2015 11:05

Would - I rented a Bednest for minipopz. Worth every penny!! It was 99 quid for 6 months then, but I think its reduced now.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 03/08/2015 11:40

I'd agree setting up an appointment to try and figure out some options to work through your anxiety looking, but I'd probably disagree with others that it's worth ringing the midwife about concerns like this, which are hugely common.

Maybe it's not a popular view, but I think midwives have enough to deal with as it is, without being the near immediate go to for every single moment that any pregnant woman is worried about anything! I know it's good to have reassurance, but it also means they don't have that time to deal with someone who has an actual genuine problem.

I know it's a bit worrisome when you begin to get used to feel little movements, and then they seem to stop (I was actually worrying about the exact same thing yesterday), but as others have said, it's very common as the baby is still small enough to get in different positions. I think it's only at something like 28 weeks that they want the movements to be following a daily sort of pattern.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 03/08/2015 11:55

On my side, same as you looking - was getting used to having a few small kicks each day (all within the same 10 min window) and then nothing for a few days. Was worrying yesterday, but after a look online it seems very normal. Apparently they can hear sudden loud noises, so you could always try slamming a door, or putting a short sharp blast of music on! Grin

jelly how many weeks are you now? I think a lot of the movement is a bit "baby or gas" conundrum - it's only when they give a quick punch or kick that it's like "that was NOT gas!!!" Grin Unless your gas is becoming particularly explosive these days.... Agreed with yorkshire that it's always been surprisingly low down. Though if like me you're still going to the loo approximately every ten minutes, it would make sense if baby was river dancing on the bladder.....

Getting a bit worried about my weight, as I seem to have lost weight since last week. Overall it's still within the normal perimeters, but it's just frustrating that my bump doesn't seem to be progressing at all. I've got a friend only a few weeks ahead of me, and she already has an incredibly impressive bump! Sniff.

pretzelpieces · 03/08/2015 12:13

totally keeping all my g x for you, hope it was just too early for them to find the hb.

jellypi3 · 03/08/2015 12:13

think it might have been wind then! I am aware of every twitch in that area! Only 14+4 so still early days :) I'm just really looking forward to movement :)

gouda i'm sure you will wake up one day with a huge bump! Maybe like ga's Wink

Purpleball · 03/08/2015 12:14

Gx for Totally and 5hell Thanks

Gouda my weight has gone up and down, I've also had weeks where I know he's grown but my bump hasn't changed at all. I think it's down to the position he's in.

I'm 33 weeks tomorrow and movement has only had a routine for the past couple of weeks.

Viroids my sleep has been awful for days. I'm so exhausted I want to cry. I had a total meltdown this morning as there was an alarm going off. Fortunately it's stopped now. I'm exhausted at bedtime, then as soon as the light goes off I'm wide awake for 2-3 hours, eventually I nod off then wake every hour for a drink and/or wee
Is this normal? I'm totally worn out Confused

Pisghetti · 03/08/2015 12:15

It's only between 24-28 weeks that you should start to feel some movement everyday. Reduced movement should never be ignored once you are past 28 weeks but it doesn't mean anything at 18 weeks so I'm not sure a MW could help really except to tell you that. I know it is easier said than done to not worry - I turned up at the MLU in hysterics at 24 weeks after not feeling anything for hours as she had developed a pattern to her movement by then but everything was fine and she had just turned. The midwives were lovely about it.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 03/08/2015 12:41

purple I think that is pretty normal sadly. Have a mate just a bit further along from you and she was saying the same thing the other day.

Could it be that by the time you go to bed, you are actually over tired, hence the difficulty in getting to sleep? Is there any way you could get a nap during the day, or go to bed earlier? Otherwise I guess the only thing is to try not to stress and just see the time where you can't sleep as "rest time" even if you can't sleep. Sometimes taking the pressure off getting to sleep can help.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 03/08/2015 13:15

totally keep us updated! Many gingers crossed that it was only because littletot was hiding in a corner out of audio reach.
jelly IMO I'd say the only only only thing definitely needed is the car seat. Then a moses basket, but you could also let the baby sleep on the bed. If you roll up sheets or towels into long worms and place them beneath a fitted sheet over your mattress (you could also do this with pillows but they take up more space) you can put baby to sleep on the bed without worrying that he or she will accidentally roll off or roll underneath a pillow or duvet cover and get smothered. That does however mean that you will probably co-sleep at night anyway? If you're not planning on co-sleeping then I guess a moses basket is worth buying now too.
BUT you could also go the Finnish route and get a box! We were planning that until about two weeks before DC was born when we realised the cats loo-oo-oove cardboard boxes and would scratch it to smithereens in a day. I had even already acquired the perfect one came in useful though for storing second-hand toys we got given but which I didn't really want Very disappointed I couldn't piss off our mothers by letting DC sleep in a box! Grin
We didn't use a buggy until about 3 months. We had a babybjorn sling, else we mostly carried DC in the removable carseat wherever we went and put him to sleep in it if we were out, or else just carried the mite around in our arms DC was attached to my boob 22/7 anyway

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 03/08/2015 13:19

la so pleased to hear from you. Sounds like things are going better now you're home. Many congratulations on the milk in your foof. Grin

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 03/08/2015 13:51

My BiscuitBiscuit's are huge. Also, living on ginger beer...

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 03/08/2015 13:55

Sorry jelly just read back and saw you already have a car seat and moses basket. :) Ignore my rantings.
I think one figures out what works best for you as you go along. We for example bought a plastic bath seat thingiemabob but never used it as we just bathed with DC on our laps in the bath together from the very start. That was a wasted £6.99 I'll never get back. Hmm Then again, other people use them all the time. You can only know once your DC is around. :)

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 03/08/2015 13:56

sky I might need a photo as proof.

horny much? me? never! Grin

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 03/08/2015 14:00

Ps I blame lil for her advice to refrain from indulging in uhm home remedies for horniness on account of my clinic telling me to abstain from sex until the scan, and me wondering if that included subsistence farming. lil suggested it did. Now it's all I can think about. Hmm Shock

oneyorkshirepud · 03/08/2015 14:42

PMSL!!! Subsistence farming!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!

oneyorkshirepud · 03/08/2015 14:43

Hee hee that wasn't very sympathetic, sorry! Confused How long until your scan Auf?

5hell · 03/08/2015 15:56

totally have got everything crossed for you, at this early stage I dont think seeing the hb is guaranteed, so hopefully it was just unlucky/inept sonographer Flowers

for my part, have decided to just wait and see what happens. no more bleeding, only v light occasional spotting. As i'm only 6w today a single scan would not be conclusive so I think I might as well wait and see. It was v different to mc bleeding (no guarantee i know) and boob pain + nausea continue to increase (also no guarantee!), but am going to try to continue with a cautiously PMA, combined with taking it a bit easier and no sex (sorry dh!).

purple can you try mixing up your bedtime routine? maybe winding down with a bath/book/music/whatever you dont normally do? or try a different bedroom just to break the cycle?

oneyorkshirepud · 03/08/2015 16:27

Well that sounds about as positive as it can be at this stage 5hell. Well done for being so positive, I will keep everything crossed for you.

Any news Totally?

goodnessgraciousgouda · 03/08/2015 16:29

5hell - That does sound positive. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. One thing though - do you know your rhesus factor? If not, I'd strongly recommend going to the hospital to get it checked. If you are negative and partner is positive you will need to know now.

goodnessgraciousgouda · 03/08/2015 16:29

(since you have had bleeding)

Purpleball · 03/08/2015 16:46

5hell that does sound positive. We had a private scan at 7w as the heartbeat is visible then if your dates are accurate

I'm going to do a screen ban before bedtime, just read my kindle (it's a paper white so no glare)
I had a short nap earlier as I couldn't keep my eyes open. I won't have any more caffeine today, just had a cup of tea this morning
