Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Hi All! Can I join you from the ttc while breastfeeding thread please? Smile

I'm 35 and fell pregnant with DD, who's now 27 months, the first cycle of trying. We'd been ttc DC #2 since DD was 6 months - my cycles returned at 16 months but took a further 6 months to get back to 'normal'....we'd been charting and using opks for the past 6 months but decided to take a ttc break as it just wasn't happening for us. Ironically, this is the cycle during which we got our bfp! Shock We dtd just once approx. 5/6 days before I thought I would likely ovulate. Missed AF made me poas on Monday. A strong positive appeared straight away. Going by my LMP I would be 5 weeks this Saturday with an EDD of 2nd April 2016. This evening I used a CB digi and it said 'pregnant 3+ weeks' so it feels a bit more real but still surreal Grin

I'm still feeling a bit bewildered by it all tbh, especially since we'd put in so much effort in previous cycles and thought we'd timed everything perfectly but kept getting bfn's. I also felt more 'pregnant' in previous 2ww's than I currently do Confused

Diggum · 30/07/2015 23:10

Congrats Littlerays! 4 DC will be such a lovely bunch!

Ava I'm still BFing my DD and was lurking on ttc while breastfeeding but happily got BFP very quickly.

Anyway I'm April 2nd too and still a bit baffled that this is actually happening! Congratulations and welcome!

KatySAFC · 31/07/2015 09:44

Thanks, Drheb - good to know! We're off on holiday today and my plan was to go for a couple of light runs, so I'll give it a go and see how I get on.

The exhaustion thing is getting to me at the moment as I'm usually so active and rushing around doing 10 things at once, but feel so drained. Confused

FizzlePops · 31/07/2015 10:43

Katy, the exhaustion for me is the worst part. I'm getting to about 3pm and feeling ready for bed. As I recall that does lift after a few weeks so hopefully shouldn't be for too long.
Ps you must be in the same neck of the woods as me...

Issie339 · 31/07/2015 12:00

Congratulations Ava and Littleray!

Ava I'm a bit the same as you, we'd been trying for DC2 for 8 months and this was the month I kind of 'had a break' from ttc, drank loads of coffee, didn't dtd as much as previous months and even applied for a new job! Then got my BFP Confused Mother Nature is a funny old thing.

Well I had 1 day of feeling absolutely exhausted last week but am actually ok again now, a bit more tired than normal but not much...though I am still drinking coffee (naughty I know) which is helping.

For all the other coffee drinkers by the way, I have discovered this week that Pret size regular coffee is only 1 shot vs. Starbucks 'tall' (small) which is 2 shot...this is great as I've been getting a Pret regular every morning on the way to work and still feeling like I'm getting my usual coffee Grin

Wow lots of people on here now!! How exciting and Congrats Ladies!!

As this is mine and my DH's first, we don't think we will be finding out the sex. I really want him to be the one to tell me whether we have had a boy or a girl, when the baby's out and the midwife passes him/her over. Is that a thing??

Really want to start buying things for the nursery!! But we are going to be sensible and wait until we have had our scan.

When is everyone's scan date?? (I haven't received my date yet...)

Bella xx

Newbiehome · 31/07/2015 14:34

Katy and Fizzle I am with you on the exhaustion! Have never felt anything like it. I like my sleep at the best of times but I am just beyond shattered at the moment. Really hope this passes! Fascinates me how people's symptoms vary so!

At a 4 day long wedding at the mo so trying to mask both not drinking and being so tired!!

Dollface136 · 31/07/2015 14:47

Hello may I come in?
I just got my BFP this morning Grin. My GP called my to tell me to test as a "structure" had showed up in my womb on an internal scan I had last week (I have PCOS). I am over the moooooon as is DH.

For my stats this is my 1st and I am 32 due 5th April according to NHS calc.

My symptoms are a bit of dull ache around the pelvis, sore boobs on and off, lack of appetite and very tired. I always pee a lot so this is not new for me haha.

I so hope this all goes to plan! I'm going to have to tell my parents next weekend as we have booked to go champagne tasting Confused

AvaAmulet · 31/07/2015 15:14

Tiredness is my natural state with a 2 year old already Grin so I honestly don't feel any different. Even my breasts don't feel at all tender atm (they did with DD at this stage) Could breastfeeding be causing my lack of symptoms? I'm not complaining, I had hypermesis first time around pretty much all the way through, so would love to avoid that again. Not pleasant at all Hmm

AvaAmulet · 31/07/2015 15:19

Congratulations, Diggum, I often wonder about lurkers. I lurked for a while! but as soon as I started posting I found it so cathartic they couldn't get rid of me Wink

Issie, crazy isn't it?! It does feel meant to be! Fx! Congratulations Grin

Fantastic news, Dollface! Flowers

Issie339 · 31/07/2015 15:46

Ava haha you have a good point, I too have a 2 year old and so am in a constant state of exhaustion which is maybe why I'm not feeling any different! Grin

So glad we have a forum to tell people about our little seeds. I don't think I could contain the excitement otherwise.

Apart from seeing my GP on Monday I'm guessing there is not a lot I need to do at the moment right?

AvaAmulet · 31/07/2015 16:34

Not really, Dollface. Just take your folic acid and look forward to the scan after an agonising wait x

I'm debating whether or not to share our news with our good friends who are coming for dinner tonight. They live quite far away and we don't get to see them very often, just every 3-4 months or so. It's such early days though, I don't know what to do Confused

louwn · 31/07/2015 17:33

I have told a friend at work, one of my closest, because I needed to tell someone!! Telling my parents this weekend, but my DH's parents are away..might have to skype them or something at this rate!

FatimaLovesBread · 31/07/2015 20:17

Can I join?
BFP this morning after a frozen embryo transfer. I managed to hold out to the testing date without testing before!
Due date is somewhere between 5th and 7th April depending on if you date from ovulation/embryo transfer or LMP.
Already have a DD after having IVF, she's now 2.8.
We haven't told anyone yet and probably won't for a while. Well apart from my previous MN postnatal group Grin

LaPampa · 31/07/2015 20:22

May I join? Just got a positive test today. It will all being well be our 2nd, due 2 weeks before our daughter's 4th birthday.

SaltySeaBird · 31/07/2015 22:56

Lots of new people joining - welcome and congratulations all!

I still don't feel remotely pregnant - very different to previous pregnancies.

I had a scan earlier in the week, despite telling them it was a waste of time as it was too early buty consultant is very thorough and I get scanned every fortnight until 12 weeks although as I'm on holiday I have a two and a half week wait until the next one. He did say I could have one before I go but it will still be too early and I know when I ovulated!

The only thing they saw on my scan was something possibly starting to form in my uterus but too small to measure.

I'm diabetic with a history of miscarriage and heamorraging hence the close eye they keep on me. My last miscarriage last year was pretty horrific.

AvaAmulet · 31/07/2015 23:09

We told our friends this evening, they were really pleased for us and touched that we decided to include them in our secret circle Wink Grin I figured, if something went wrong I'd tell them, so there's no point in not telling them right now x

Congratulations Fatima and LaPampa Smile x

Salty, what you've gone through sounds awful Flowers hope you have a lovely holiday and the scan date is here before you know it x

Expectantrobot · 01/08/2015 09:43

Hello! Got a bfp last Saturday and spent the last week getting used to the idea / wanting to tell people / trying not to be sick!

I'm 29, this will be first baby and EDD is 31st March, but I'm resigned to it being an April baby so thought I'd join this thread. Most of mine and my DH's family have April birthdays and we always said we would try to avoid children due then, but nevermind!

Currently 5+2 and seeing GP on Monday. Been really exhausted all week, sore boobs and quite a lot of nausea (though thankfully not much actual vomiting) Looking forward to having people I can share things with... So hard keeping it a secret when we're so excited!

ComeLuckyApril · 01/08/2015 14:26

I really miss coffee, but I seem to have gone off it - I've been feeling queasy since Monday, so I'm not sure if I have a bug, or if it's the hormones. My temperature is up, but I think it's all the progesterone. I've booked to see the GP Monday too, although I think it's the GP I don't like so I'm not sure whether to try to change it.

Londonlady2015 · 01/08/2015 16:32

Hi everyone

Can I join? According to online calculators I'm due 31 March but you guys seem a lot closer to where I am in weeks than the march bus, though they're lovely and I'll keep following!

Had GP appt Monday and had to fill in self referral form and email to hosp so hopefully I'll be in with a midwife soon. Going on v long distant holiday soon for 2.5 weeks so hoping it doesn't affect appointments etc. and I need to find out about travel sickness tablets!

Anyway, congrats to you all. I'm having v occasional ache in pelvis and slightly sore boobs. No nausea. So far!

louwn · 01/08/2015 17:49

Have you tried decaf April? It is not as bad as I remember and is perhaps having some psychsomatic effect on me being alert! Feeling quite sleepy today, could totally have a nap this evening.

ComeLuckyApril · 01/08/2015 20:14

For some reason, just the smell (like a lot of stuff right now) is making me feel queasy! But I have been drinking Coke, which seems to stop the sick feeling while I'm having it.

woundbobbin · 01/08/2015 20:20

I am CRYING watching mamma Mia on ITV no good excuse for not changing the channel. I hope this is hormones or DH might file for divorce!

Diggum · 01/08/2015 20:33

I cry all the time at stupid crap on TV woundbobbin (sometimes even just the memory of it). I use pregnancy as a convenient excuse!
