Thanks fisher and missm, I wasn't even bothered or thinking about bumps really but got a bit of a shock when I put on slightly more figure-hugging clothes than usual and immediately just felt fat!!

lovelylara · 31/07/2015 19:38

17+2 here and none of my work clothes fit any more! I've put on 2.5kg and am fast approaching the heaviest I've been for 7 years...

My 16 week appointment is tomorrow - anyone know what to expect?

MissSMartin · 31/07/2015 19:41

fisher - you can always buy Viynl wall stickers to add a feature... ebay do loads of really nice ones for nursery's which can be pretty big! & had some at my last house which was rented and they peeled off really easy when we moved Grin (dp told me off when he got home cz i moved it all myselfSad )
ready - wow! you do sound ready for them... im looking forward to hear what happens when they know they dont have a leg to stand on!!
yeah one of each would be lovely! Grin

tinyme135 · 31/07/2015 20:28

Omg what an eventful day. As I work in a pharmacy we deal with many druggies and all that lark. We had an addict come in and threaten us with a knife to give him some controlled drugs. It was scary as hell

spydie · 31/07/2015 20:29

Bought my first pair of maternity jeans last night! Still wearing my normal size 6 jeans which fit fine but last few days my waist suddenly just looks fat! No real bump, but sitting down in jeans was suddenly very uncomfy!

Feeling yucky the last few days, like my waist is stretching! bleugh!

Finally managed to add myself to the spreadsheet though, don't think I killed it....!

14+6 - thought it was meant to get better now, not worse! ;-)

spydie · 31/07/2015 20:30

tiny hope you are ok? You don't need that hassle/stress/scare!!! Flowers

ValancyJane · 31/07/2015 20:50

tiny That sounds awful, you're having such a bad week! Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend planned Smile

I can't remember who else was talking about asthma the other day, but I went to the doctors tonight about mine getting worse. She's prescribed me fostair (pink inhaler) but having read the leaflet I'm not happy that they don't seem to know if it's safe in pregnancy and also there's ethanol in it which seems odd. Anyone on this inhaler?

Lookingforadvice123 · 31/07/2015 21:28

I've put on nearly a stone at 18 weeks (well 17+6!). I've always been slim, don't fit in my size 10
skinny jeans anymore at all! But my looser fitting clothes are ok, I've only bought 1 maternity item and that's skinny jeans.

I feel gross but I don't think it looks like I've put on that much and every one swears I look like it's just my bump...I'm quite tall at 5"6 so I guess maybe I carry extra weight well! I think I've been this heavy before...maybe when I was a uni student! I have been eating a lot more especially with nausea but I've made sure I have good stuff too and most of my meals are healthy so meh. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, I don't want to put on more than 2-2.5 stone overall but if it happens it happens, I've always lost weight quickly in the past.

Blackandwhitecat3 · 31/07/2015 21:56

Valancy I'm on a different corticosteroid inhaler, but I did some reading up on them last week. I don't think corticosteroids are a great idea when you're pregnant, but with inhaled ones, not much gets into your bloodstream. I've reduced mine slightly for the last few weeks - just so that I get enough, and have compensated a little with my salbutamol inhaler which I think as a drug is totally fine. The official line in the nhs is that they treat the asthma regardless (even in pgcy because it will harm the baby if you get too short of breath), and that these drugs are not known to cause probs in pgcy, but are not proved to be safe either. I'm just trying to be sensible. Hth.

Tiny you've had a shocker of a week, hope you can chill out at the weekend.

Ready sounds like you are ready for them. Glad you have some support from a colleague, and good luck. Let us know how you get on.

Lily I lost weight in the first trimester which is quite common. I've started to put some on now though!

I have one pair of black maternity skinnies (from sil), one pair of maternity biker pants (bought new) and one pair of grey skinnies from previous pregnancy. I'm wearing my bigger/slouchier tops/knits (it's winter here anyway) - when I get bigger I'll probably move to loose shirts and stretchy longline tops (H&M & topshop used to do them). Mat tops annoy me a bit, with the ruching and cross-overs they are never flattering on me. I have one or two I've kept from previous pregnancy but won't buy anymore that's for sure!

ready I hope the next few weeks go well for you. Good on you for doing it.

I've put on about a stone too looking. From memory, most midwives don't weigh you again after the first appointment (that was london though, based on mine and friends experiences). My ob didnt weigh me at all last pregnancy and has only once so far this pregnancy (she had to put a weight on some form for bloods). I'm hoping I don't get weighed again. I just really don't like knowing!

frozenfairy123 · 01/08/2015 06:16

I've only bought 1 maternity top this time. To be honest I find them all a bit expensive. I go for leggings and long tops/dresses. I've put on weight but still slightly under my starting weight due to 1st tri but feel huge! It's horrible how everything expands sideways to make room for baba.

I've been looking at the Chicco next to me cot and love it but not sure I can justify it when I have a moses already. Can't do any other decorating of nursery till we move house but sort of know what I want. Only going to use stickers on the walls so that can easily be changed as they get older.
I'm loving sainsburys no alcohol wine! Rose is great. Red not so good. Trying white tonight. Obviously it's not the real deal but with a meal it's fine.
Vomited yesterday out of the blue. No idea why? But then felt rough all day.
My lovely toddler has just brought me a dead bug and was very excited over it!! Not good before 6am in the morning!!!
Have a good day everyone xx

I'm back in work today but I've had such a bad nights sleep. Everytime I close my eyes each dream has him in it. It's freaking me out.

mrschatty · 01/08/2015 07:48

I have 2 mat jeans from mamas and paps they are lively v comfy and stylish but we're a bit big...
Maybe they won't be too big now though woke up with muscular stomach pain went to loo belly has popped it's huge! I'm 16w tomorrow!

moonshine25 · 01/08/2015 07:55

Morning ladies! Been keeping track of how you are all doing (that sounds like I'm a stalker but you know what I mean!) oh Tiny that sounds like an awful week and a terrible nights sleep! Really hope today goes on for you, I try and think that nothing is ever as bad as we imagine it to be so I hope today isn't too hard.

Belly is definitely filling out here but thinking of getting a bump band to save me buying more jeans for now? What do you think?

Had the most scary dream this morning and DH said I was hyperventilating in my sleep...

Pugmumlondon · 01/08/2015 07:59

Morning all! You've been busy! Had no phone reception yesterday (different site) and so catching up.

Glad you're getting some traction Tiny - it was utterly irresponsible.

Sorry to hear you've been feint down Lily, I went through that too before the 12w scan as was so anxious and worried about things I'd previously never heard of. Things it's swings and roundabouts though.

I've bought mat clothes from Asos but still need to devote some time to finding jeans. I'm 5'10" so I need longer length!!!

Weight wise - I am not weighing myself. I have weight / food issues and so this is difficult for me anyway. I'm still in my size 10 clothes but feeling huge. I've been eating far more rubbish too than normal - partly because I'm constantly hungry and my normal staples of fat free yoghurt and carrots etc are just not filling me up. I'm horrified to think what all this bread is going to look like on me after the baby is born but trying not to think about it all too much.

Had lovely evening last night with old friends but by 930 it was time for bed! When does this energy burst appear?!

Pugmumlondon · 01/08/2015 08:01

Ps. De nursery plans. We're going with Grey and yellow and a v large tree sticker on the back wall. Etsy! C

moonshine25 · 01/08/2015 08:02

And how excited that you've popped mrschatty! I want to pop soon so I stop looking like I've eaten too many pies and start looking pregnant!

Frozen I know what you mean, I really like the look of a snuzpod but don't think we'll need that and a Moses basket - such a minefield! I saw my friend yesterday who has a 4 week old and liked her set up of just using a Moses basket so now have no idea!

frozenfairy123 · 01/08/2015 08:59

Moonshine definietly get a bump band they are great! With my son I ended up co sleeping as was breadtfeeding and he never really slept well in his moses. I just feel like I need to do the co sleeping as safely as possible.

MissSMartin · 01/08/2015 10:05

just got my combined results back as lowrisk Smile
made me cry!

ValancyJane · 01/08/2015 10:14

Black That is useful, I didn't know corticosteroids could potentially cause problems, have since googled it though and the issues in studies were only caused with massive doses, so it seems relatively safe to me. I rang the chemists this morning and the pharmacist was fab, she agreed that it was a risk/benefit situation but could see why I was uncomfortable with the Fostair during pregnancy. She couldn't find any information on Clenil being deemed safe in pregnancy, but explained it was probably a lack of studies more than anything else! Will ring the GP's on Monday and just ask for a higher dose of Clenil I think. Salbutamol/Ventolin I believe is fine, I've been taking it a bit more which I know they don't like, but GP said that there was some of that in the Fostair, so I don't think I'll worry overly about using it once a day.

Thanks to whoever suggested H&M for maternity jeans, got some yesterday in Leeds and they are good Smile We also wandered into mothercare, and I think have now decided on a gliding crib rather than a moses basket. I've already seen some wall stickers on Amazon that I want for the nursery, I think we're going for an owl theme (I love owls!)

Miss That's great news, see the blood test was worth it! Wink

mrsfazruns · 01/08/2015 10:29

Oh the joys of pregnancy!! My kidney infection is almost gone thanks to massive dose of antibiotics BUT said antibiotics has meant Hurrendous thrush and a massive cold sore!!! Not feeling very "blooming" at the moment plus guilty about now using 3 different meds ..... Antibiotics, canesten and Zovirax!!!

Just catching up on the thread and I can't believe the conversations we are up to! I remember us all worrying about early stuff then the excitement of scans and now talking prams, moses baskets and nurseries! It's so lovely!! Won't be long till 20 week scans start then half way to delivery stories!!!

MissSMartin · 01/08/2015 10:33

valancy i know hehe Wink glad i dealt with my fear on that one!
mrsfaz aww don't you feel guilty!! Smile you gtta do what you gtta do.. it must be horrible..
how do you know when you have a uti? is peeing frequently one? i had 3 wee's in 20 mins last night!

I've have had trapped wind since waking up and my abdomen is really tender.. i can't eat my toast lol Sad

mrsfazruns · 01/08/2015 10:37

Peeing more is a sign but more if you have the feeling to go but nothing is there and feels stingy! Pee will also be strong and might smell a little! I didn't have any symptoms till it reached my kidneys and had awful back pain

lilyb84 · 01/08/2015 11:14

Thanks pug, I've been a bit down for non-pg reasons which have actually distracted me from pg worries in a way! Feeling a bit better now though Smile

I was DJing last night at a regular night I do with a friend, lots of fun as usual and really hoping to carry on doing it right until I pop but have to say the 1.30am hometime has taken it out of me a bit today...

tiny hope you have a much less stressful and unpleasant weekend than your week's been!
