Morning all. Just back from miwife appt, all v standard, she's going to check the consultant appt as she agrees i should be seen well before December. And I heard Bean's heartbeat Smile It was a little odd as she is the mum of my youngest's best friend, but actually quite nice as i already know and like her.

Vertigo still as bad, and feeling shattered. Going to call BUPA later and try to get an appointment with consultant asap to see if they can fix me! I have next Mon-Wed off as holiday anyway so hoping i can go back to work on Thursday.

Hope everyone is OK. Glad the spotting has stopped mrsfaz and sleepy i hope you can stop worrying. And tiny hope your head feels better soon! And big unmumsnetty hugs to brooke - we are all here for you. Sorry if i've missed anyone's news... Off now to blart at OBEM!

kep aww that's lovely that you know her!.. hope your vertigo goes soon.. sounds horrible Sad x

anyone have hayfever/ allergies??
ive sneezed about 70 times today and all my nose and lips are now chapped and smothered in sudocrem.. I've read i can't use antihistamines.. is this true? also if you do have allergies how are you dealing with them? its driving me insane..my eyes are so watery i can't even see my phone properly lol

melonface · 30/07/2015 12:20

I got some optrex eye drops and a nose spray as that's all the pharmacy would let me have! I was really suffering at the beginning but hayfever seems to have settled down now.

tinyme135 · 30/07/2015 12:51

Talking about bad reactions. My nan jusy found I was pregnant cause my doctors told her without my permission. I phoned her and told her it's not a joke and I'm sorry and she didn't seem happy. Now I just want to cry as my nan is like my other mum and has always been there for me through thick and thin and the fact that she's angry just upsets me. She went you're meant to be married when you have them and I went it's a new age now most people aren't getting married no more and at least it wasn't from a one stand. She's been knitting like crazy waiting for this day and now it's here I don't think she likes it. It's not like I'm still at school and I'm not earning enough money. I work full time in a great job and having it with a guy who I'm going to marry and the family loves so dearly :( so much for a stress free day

lutrinae · 30/07/2015 12:57

We watched OBEM and agree it was v sad. The couple were so lovely and so strong. Actually DP was crying and I wasn't for some reason. Maybe he's the pregnant one?
The two other births were really positive, natural births so still well worth a watch.

Sorry to everyone having a hard time at the moment with health and with unsupportive friends. Massive dislike and Flowers

I think sickness is beginning to abate here and I seem to be able to drink tea/coffee and eat chocolate again! Brew
Like you nightfall I was sick the whole 2nd trimester with DS until I got drugs so really pleased it's better this time. My mum is convinced it means we're having a girl, ha ha.

tinyme sorry about your Nan, I'm sure she'll come round. I hope you're going to put a formal complaint in with the doctors as thats a serious breach of confidentiality! I'd be livid.

tinyme135 · 30/07/2015 13:24

I phoned them up and they said they will write me a letter which I refused as I know it will be a box standard one. I'm going to go higher.

I've been thinking about it all on my dinner, if my family doesn't approve or wants to be funny with it that's fine cause either way I'm happy with my OH and this child will be loved by both parents even if our family disagrees. They can hate me disown me do what ever but I will still have my little blip as it's a miracle baby and nothing will stop me from loving them.

Romeolovesjuliet · 30/07/2015 13:25

I agree OBEM was pretty harrowing last night. But like mrsfaz said it reminded me not to take anything for granted. With both of mine, I didn't really believe they were coming until I held them in my arms.
We've hardly told anyone - not sure that many people will be interested as it's our third! I told one member of my family and he said literally nothing! I think a lot of people think we are greedy/self indulgent/mad whatever to be having a third. brooke I'm sorry you're feeling so low - I lost my mum 5 yrs ago (and don't see my Dad) and found I felt her loss even more during my pregnancies. It's a very tough time - be kind to yourself and we are all here for you.

MissSMartin · 30/07/2015 13:32

Tiny aww hun! your dr is very naughty doing that!! Angry .. she will probably come around.. my nan was so shocked when she first found out she didn't even smile or say/ do anything.. dp asked her if she's happy and she said.. i don't know! i was so upset. but now shes always talking about baby things with me and calling to check im alright.. hopefully your nan will come around too! like you said to her its a different time now people don't always get married first..she probably still see's you as a child.. my nan said my little(insert firstname) i sure she still thinks im 10 lolHmm . hope ur okay!! have you told your dad yet?

melon Thanks! good suggestion ill ask the pharmacist what they recommend as i don't wana waste a dr appt on that

tinyme135 · 30/07/2015 13:45

I'm fine MissMartin nothing but a night in with DP and chinese won't solve. My manager has brought a load of pizza so I'm pigging out on that. I sorta told him but I think he was drunk when I did and doesn't remember anything haha. Like I said on last post if they don't like it it's fine, I'm an adult and I can sort myself out.

frozenfairy123 · 30/07/2015 14:08

The worry never goes I'm afraid, even when they are in your arms u worry. Being a mum makes u incredibly vunerable and changes u in more ways than u would expect. I can't watch horror films like I used to. Don't stress about what might happen, enjoy the now. Hugs to all xxz
17+1 first time I remembered!!!

ValancyJane · 30/07/2015 14:20

tinyme Bless you, I'm sure your Nan will come around to the idea in time. However oh god, I would be formally kicking off big time over that breach of confidentiality. I would be taking it further than the practice manager as that is such an invasion of privacy!

Maternity clothes came today and oh my GOD where have maternity leggings been all my life, sooooo comfy! Nicests bits are this, this and this. Maternity jeans from there I didn't rate though, way too big and the legs weren't skinny at all despite being skinny fit. Has anyone got any really good maternity jeans recommendations?

fourlegstwolegs · 30/07/2015 14:45

Valancy H&M did some good skinny maternity jeans last time I was pregnant - they were amazing.

ValancyJane · 30/07/2015 15:10

Thanks four I'm off into Leeds tomorrow so might give H&M a go (just had a look at their online range and they do look good. Also some pretty tops and dresses there!

Romeolovesjuliet · 30/07/2015 15:19

valancy I like my topshop Leigh skinny jeans (although I think they are quite hard to get hold of since a certain princess was snapped wearing them...).

kep1979 · 30/07/2015 15:19

valancy i got mine from Seraphine, they look great. I hear Topshop have good ones too.

Haitch35 · 30/07/2015 15:23

I'm sorry for those getting negative responses to what is very exciting and happy news. Brooke, what utter rubbish that you wouldn't be able to love a third child as much! I understand you wanting to tell the couple who are TTC first, but can't you tell a couple of old friends and ask them to be discreet until it's public knowledge? You need some positivity and support in real life as well - don't miss out on it because you're being so considerate and lovely yourself.

melonface · 30/07/2015 15:35

I got jeans from next (via ebay) that have stretchy side panels rather than and over or underbump band and I really like them. Not quite big enough for them yet! Any recommendations on leggings?

ValancyJane · 30/07/2015 15:42

Ooh thanks, lots of good ideas there, will look into those! Smile

tinyme135 · 30/07/2015 16:06

Does anyone know who I need to go to to take it further?

I'm already in maternity tops and dresses the trousers are too big yet so gotta wait till bump is bigger.

melonface · 30/07/2015 16:41

tiny I'm pretty sure you go through the practice manager to begin with and them you can take it further to the commissioners if you're not happy with there response. I'm angry on your behalf!

mrsfazruns · 30/07/2015 16:51

tiny that's a massive breach of Patient confidentiality! Put it in writing to the practice manager and they have to reply to you

SleepyDragon · 30/07/2015 17:14

Tiny it's actually a breach of the Data Protection Act and you can report it to the ICO for investigation of you want to go high (can't you tell what I do with the parts of the day I'm not being yelled at by Cllrs and MP's!! Lol) they cannot disclose information about a person to s third party without the express written consent of the first person. You don't even have to report to Practice Manager, ICO will make them do a formal review within a strict period of time.

FWIW I think your Nan will come round she may be more stunned that she didn't find out first hand. My Grandma meant keen on us moving in together before we got married (she was 90 at the time) til we told her how expensive weddings are.

Nightfall1983 · 30/07/2015 17:15

Just cycled myself and DS down to the doctors surgery (routine appointment for him), I haven't cycled in about 2.5 weeks and BOY did I know about it! Things change so fast when you are pregnant, I really need to make a point of doing it more often!! When I was pregnant last time I cycled till 34 weeks when my knees kept hitting my bump - but I wasn't towing a toddler then!!

tinyme135 · 30/07/2015 17:39

I think I'll be doing a lot of writing tonight and a lot of research into all this. sleepy if I need any help would you mind if I ask a few questions and how to write it all down?
