I don't want to be a scaremonger but just pass on what my ob said re asthma. I dont get asthma usually but have had it once with each previous pregnancy when I've had a cold. My ob said it was important to treat it properly, as if I wasnt getting enough oxygen over a period of time then it risked the baby not getting enough oxygen! I had to have the preventer thing and a regular inhaler for a while.

missmartin I've resisted getting my hair chopped into a mum do for a long time but my hair is almost waist length now and stupidly thick and I keep thinking it would be sooo nice to have it shoulder length ....

looking yep I have two girls already. Girls are ace but am really looking forward to a boy!

kep1979 · 28/07/2015 06:00

Not happy - have woken up with vertigo! I had labyrinthitis from Dec to Feb so am really hoping that it hasn't come back. Going back to sleep to hope it goes away again - really don't need to be incapacitated!!!

coffeenut · 28/07/2015 06:54

Oh kep that doesn't sound good. I hope you are okay.

MissMartin10 · 28/07/2015 08:07

coffee your hair sounds lovley, i love long hair.. mine is still long down pass my boobs but I've got a side fringe put in (it was all one length before) and i must admit its made me look really diff.. ive not had a fringe since i was 12 lol

kep oh that dosent sound very good can you be treated for vertigo? i don't really know much about it.. hope you feel better

jmac88 · 28/07/2015 08:16

Hi ladies,

Another team bluey over hear!

Had a 16 week scan with preterm surveillance clinic yesterday due to my septate uterus but everything is well and so excited to have a boy!

Was told my cervix was 46mm and they would only be worried about mid term Mc if 25mm or less, so as long as nothing changed at anomaly scan I'll be going back to low risk which means I can use midwife lead birth unit at kings which is so lush!!

Very excited about baby boy but did have some excellent girls names so will have to get my thinking hat on!

SleepyDragon · 28/07/2015 08:35

Morning all

i treat myself to a McD's sausage McMuffin this morning and now i feeel sooooooooooo sick - bleurgh!

Jmac did they tell you the sex at your 16wk appointment then? Congrats!!

Re: hair conversations, i have a very short pixie crop which you'd think would be easy to manage and maintain, however i need to wash it and wax it every day to keep it in place lol!

kep1979 · 28/07/2015 09:02

jmac congratulations on your boy Smile

No treatment really available apart from tablets to stop the vomiting if it gets too much. I don't actually feel sick just uncontrollably dizzy if I move my head. Last time it was really bad for a month and then just irritating for the next two months,

All this talk of hair is making me desperate to do something with mine. I missed my last appointment so am overdue a cut and colour. My hair is past my shoulders and wavy mental I used to have a crop which I loved and very tempted to just chop my hair off but it is very convenient being able to tie it up when I am lazy busy.

jmac88 · 28/07/2015 09:21

Thanks kep and sleepy yes it was 16 week scan. We did ask them though, not sure they would've told us as routine.

Definitely keeping my hair long but going to have a trim and colour soon. I want to take advantage of having long thick hair once it stops falling out which I think should be happening soon?

TeenieDeenie · 28/07/2015 09:21

Morning all!

mrsfaz your post about what you wanted for dinner vs. what your DH was actually making you made me giggle... That would have been my reaction too! Grin

So after a pretty rough day yesterday, I went to bed at 7.30pm and slept for 12 hours solid. Wasn't I supposed to have more energy in the 2nd trimester??? My poor OH hasn't seen me properly for 2 days, he was just glad I was feeling better this morning though. I feel like a new woman!

Hair appointment booked for Thursday evening to get these 2 inch salt and pepper roots seen to. Anyone else's hair just gone dull, limp and lifeless???

TeenieDeenie · 28/07/2015 09:22

Also Jmac congrats on team blue! Smile

mrsfazruns · 28/07/2015 09:23

Oh kep that's awful .... I've looked after people with vertigo before and I always just feel so bad for them!! Hope you fee better soon!

I have a short shaved undercut haircut with a long side fringe and everyone tells me to keep it as will be so practical with baby!!! PRACTICAL?? It takes me ages to style in EVERY SINGLE DAY!! I'm tempted to grow it out so a pony tail in The middle of the night is the best option but I just look so different with It long and hate the im between stage!!

EdgarAllenPoe · 28/07/2015 10:52

Fish finger lovers unite. I was never too fussed about them before, but since getting pregnant I love fish fingers (paired with instant chicken noodles if possible!). I'm easily pleased.

stupidgirl45 · 28/07/2015 11:04

Morning everyone :)

Re: haircuts, I had a good 6ins taken off my hair last week and coloured back to brown from chilli red as it was looking awful. It's now just about shoulder length and I am much happier. Although I still wear it up all the time as when it's down it makes me feel sick (!)

Kep That's rubbish - I've had labrynthitis before and it was so awful. I found sleep and drinking lots was the only thing that helped. Hope it doesn't last too long for you :(

I'm feeling sicky and tired still so I think it's def a hormone surge - boobs are HUGE. Hoping it passes soon. 15wks tomorrow :)

Went to tesco this morning and bought pickles and mixed nuts - er spot the pregnancy cravings!!!

Jmac congrats on team blue :) and going down to low risk :)

Cannot wait to be 20wks and HALF WAY THERE! Anyone else feel the same?

Pugmumlondon · 28/07/2015 11:05

Another fish finger lover here. Although I don't think I have eaten so much toast in my entire life!

Had a row with DH about walking the dog this am. I'm not sure he quite realises that he is going to actually have to start walking her in the very near future....

Pugmumlondon · 28/07/2015 11:06

Ps we're obviously all at the same stage re hair. I'm having mine cut
Tomorrow!

And yes stupid - less than 6 weeks to go till the half way point. Cannot wait!

14 + 1

MissMartin10 · 28/07/2015 11:15

stupidgirl yep me! 5w3d left.. 14days to gender scan!!! im on count down can't bloody wait Grin Grin Grin

MissMartin10 · 28/07/2015 11:16

stupidgirl45 · 28/07/2015 11:18

SUPERNOODLES! You are geniuses! I ate loads of them last time, how could I forget?!

plans trip to shops

Glad I'm not the only one counting down lol :)

mrschatty · 28/07/2015 11:34

Oh no never been a supernoodle or fish finger fan sorry ladies!
I had a good trim before my holiday took it from halfway down my back to just below shoulders much lighter and easy to manage but I won't go shorter! Such a manic day at work can't get a minute and we have a huge business wide update with ceo this afternoon notoriously boring but oh well gets me away from desk and PC!

HR have booked me in a meeting on Thursday so I can ask them all my queries.
Who said about desperate for 20w. I'm counting it down cannot WAIT for halfway point!!!!!!

coffeenut · 28/07/2015 11:50
SleepyDragon · 28/07/2015 11:55

i need to re-dye my hair, i had it chopped on saturday as i have to have it cut every 4 weeks.

food wise tonights tea is pork and apple sausages, DH wants mash with them but i think i might just make mine into a sandwich, i'm not doing well with potatoes for some reason!

4 weeks to 20 weeks for me - 15+5 here with my 16wk appointment tomorrow (day early lol) my 20 weeks falls the day after my 36th birthday!

stupid i know the boobs thing!!!! i mean mine were big anyway (38G) but i officially cannot see my feet at all when stood up!

DH VERY chuffed with them LOL

fishermanswife1 · 28/07/2015 12:05

kep that sounds awful! On top of already icky pregnant feelings. Hope you feel better soon!

I hit my hair chopped and coloured at 14 weeks. Don't think I can afford it again for a while with baby savings!

Can't wait for half way point either. But also have a check up with consultant on Thursday. Sooo nervous. Just want little bean to be growing fine despite my silly placenta. Interesting you asked for the sex Jmac. I'll be 16+5 by then. It's odd knowing I could ask.....

melonface · 28/07/2015 12:21

Hair cut on Saturday for me! I lurvvvve my fringe, I can't ever imagine seeing my eyebrows again!

11 days to go til my 16 week scan. I can't wait to see baby again Smile

Sorry you're feeling rubbish kep Flowers

Brooke113 · 28/07/2015 12:47

sleepy how strange that you're not doing well with potatoes, I'm eating them until they're coming out of my ears!

lutrinae · 28/07/2015 12:50

Oh no kep, hope it doesn't turn out to be that. I get BPV (benign positional vertigo) sometimes, last time was in early weeks of preg, and I put it down to hormones.

Baby brain alert. Last night I asked DP whether it was 2015 or 2016. He refused to answer "such a ridiculous question"! Anyone else having some proper stupid moment?
