Blackandwhitecat3 · 27/07/2015 18:14

Hello all, just popping in for a moan (and yes, I have a hairy belly too - noticed it this morning, but fortunately very fine fair hairs for me). We're at PIL for the beg of our hols and I've been really suffering for losing control of dinner times - we didn't eat til 9pm last night by which time I was dying - both of hunger and terrible sickness. I've made a point of asking exactly when each meal will be today so that I can get my snacks in at the right times, but just fed up with both of them teasing me about how obsessed by food I am. Grrrrr. So would you be if you got nauseous every time you got remotely hungry! Angry So glad we're off tomorrow and then it'll just be the two (three!) of us.

Rant over, sorry.

Hats off to you ladies still running and spinning. I normally do loads of exercise but just can't face it. Need to do something soon though else I'll just turn into a blob.

Whoever was asking about 16w mw appt (sorry, I have tried to look back through the posts) they basically asked me how I ws getting on, tested urine, went through my blood test results from booking in (including the chat about my iron being a bit low), listened to baby's heartbeat (I don't think they do that everywhere), took my blood pressure, checked I had a 20 week scan booked. That was it. Oh and I asked for another FW8 as the first one went awol.

16 weeks today, apparently it's avocado sized this week Grin

kep1979 · 27/07/2015 18:36

I have a hairy belly too! Just v fine fair hairs but good to know i'm not the only one.

Stretch marks - i didn't get many until the very end with ds2 but now i think i can see them all again (it's been nearly ten years so they are all silvery faded). Does anyone know if the old stretch marks re stretch (ie get all red again) or if it's just that i'm imagining it as my belly is bigger? They are not red just seem more noticeable.

Pugmumlondon · 27/07/2015 19:01

I think I'm probably the only non hairy one currently. Only 14w today though.

Not going to lie - love running but it does take effort esp after work which I've never been v good at but only chance I have without a row with DH!

Officially no longer in my jeans. Thank god for body con dresses although a slightly curvier look than normal!

Pugmumlondon · 27/07/2015 19:02

Ps. Re hunger and nausea. I literally have to keep the fridge at work stocked and ensure I eat before lunchtime meetings in case they run over. DH teasing me constantly but I can't help that I'm constantly starving!

mrsfazruns · 27/07/2015 19:29

I'm having food issues today!! All I want bread!!! And tonight all I want is tomatoe soup and toasted cheese sandwich covered in brown sauce!!! But instead DH is making chicken and sweet potatoe ... wtf

spydie · 27/07/2015 19:33

mrschatty my boss hasn't officially told HR yet either, and I work in HR!!!!!!!! Everyone knows now, but he hasn't formally notified our HR services team that need to deal with it. Hmm

Another hairy belly here!!! Husband has been taking the mick, just told him smuggly that I'm not alone! Grin

SleepyDragon · 27/07/2015 19:35

My DH had the hump with food tonight.... He wanted fish fingers so I made him fish fingers.

I wanted beef so I stir fried some beef and peppercorn sauce

He then declared it unfair that he 'had' to have fish fingers and has been in a sulk ever since.... Hmm

mrschatty · 27/07/2015 19:39

Whaaaat sleepy are you married to a five yo hehe
spydie it's ridiculous I think! I'm concerned because it's so hard to get holidays authorised at my place. They renew in July and I've used some days on my holiday at start of July then 5days in sept for SAfrica I have 14 days left but can't get them authorised through normal chanel for 14th December as 'no availability' either they let me take my remaining 14 days before mat leave or I start official mat leave on 14th dec. I want to know where I stand HR wise here!

melonface · 27/07/2015 19:41

So funny how many of us are hairy Marys!

miss martin glad it's not just me Smile

blackandwhite I know exactly how you feel, I was at my dad's in France when I was 8 weeks and was retching every evening because we didn't eat til 10pm Sad Then they kept going stroppy because I wanted to eat at a normal time!

spydie · 27/07/2015 19:44

mrschatty that's frustrating, hope you get it sorted! Generalist HR ie maternity isn't my speciality, but could you drop HR an email and outline your situation, and that you wanted to speak with them for advice on using your holiday prior to starting your mat leave?

I'm saving as many holiday days as I can to take before my mat leave, don't want to be going back after Xmas!!!

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 20:00

Oh my god, I know what you mean about then it eating/late dinner thing. DP and I take turns to cook whilst the other puts DS to bed. He is usually asleep by 8, and when I come down DP is always still cooking. He is really leisurely about it - drives me mad!

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 20:02

Even though I keep puking because of it he hasn't changed his ways. I've learnt now and have a snack before I take DS up

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 20:23

i can't normally handle a full meal but ive been wanting pullpork wraps with loads of fresh salad and lemon juice Grin Grin Grin
sleepy omg ur dp sounds like mine his fav meal no lie is fish fingers.. waffles and beans Confused .. my fav is steak.. asparagus.. grilled tomatoes & wedges! yummmmmmm not that i could eat that now!..
yay! so glad i asked the hairy belly question i thought i was alone! Grin

Blackandwhitecat3 · 27/07/2015 20:41

Ahhhh....so good to hear you understand my late dinner pain. We had Chinese tonight, and at 7.30. Very happy now :)

Pugmumlondon · 27/07/2015 20:53

Guys. Anyone with asthma here? Is yours worse recently? Mine is awful! Totally out of control. Didn't take it on my run and could barely bloody breathe! Is this pregnancy related?!?!

CubanoHabana · 27/07/2015 20:54

Mmm pulled pork...

SleepyDragon · 27/07/2015 21:02

MissM yup, fish fingers chips and beans

He even asked for that when I offered him a special 'I'll cook whatever you want' birthday meal lol!

Incidentally, I was told I don't need to inform HR until I get my MATB1 form as they wont do anything till then anyway.

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 21:29

pug yeah Sad especially at night when im going bed i lie there and i feel like i can't breathe doesn't help im allergic to animals and my rabbit is currently in my house as he was neutered today.. poor lad. i feel like it's gotten alot worse recently though

Pugmumlondon · 27/07/2015 21:34

Thanks Martin - feel like I'm going mad. Breathless going up the stairs at the moment.

Wonder whether I need to get the purple inhaler?

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 21:50

pug seratide (purple) are preventors so maybe its best you speak to your doc and see if he recommends you use that to stop you having attacks.. do you have ventolin at the moment?.. luckly my asthma isn't really bad and its very sporadic as its mainy triggered by my allergies to my rabbits and their hay.. hayfever ect so i just take 2 puffs on ventolin and that normally sorts me out but its not good your suffering frequent attacks and its scary isn't it.. book yourself an appointment x

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 21:59

i got my hair cut today and dp says it makes me look more grown up... like a mum.. he better not think i look old though.. im only 22!

Brooke113 · 27/07/2015 22:09

pug I went to the doctors last week as my asthma is horrendous, I've almost had to call an ambulance twice as I've taken my Blue inhaler so many times and it's done nothing :( and I thought I was going to have an asthma attack, they gave me this really weird inhaler which I can't get the hang of, I don't think I'm getting the dose :(

ValancyJane · 27/07/2015 23:06

pugI thought I was just imagining my asthma being worse, I've had a bit of a cold so thought that was why it's been so bad when normally it's fine. Think I'll go to the doctors, this thread is so useful! Slightly less important, but god I'm glad it's not just me with a hairy belly! Also my arm hairs (thankfully blonde) are noticeably longer at the moment which is odd, pregnancy is so bizarre!

Totally hear you all on the eating late thing, PIL took us out for dinner for OHs birthday last week which was lovely... And booked the table for 8:30. It was awful, I had to strategically snack!!
