Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sorry to hear about those that have experienced losses, I haven't been on here for a few days.

Has anyone else had a brief sharp pain in the vagina? It has been on and off for the past two days, and always on the left Blush

Went to bed at 9 last night as I could hardly keep my eyes open, and woke up this morning still feeling exhausted.

Beautiful - my siblings and I have five year age gaps between us so not too many arguments, my DH however is one of four with about two years between each and although I have heard lots of stories of how they would argue and wind each other up when they were little they are now all the best of friends which is lovely.

julesldn · 05/08/2015 13:31

Beautiful - im an only child myself but had a friend who was one of 4 and although they fought like nothing else they were also all really close and family events were always great fun and like a huge party!

I just had my booking in appointment - all good, just loads of questions but am still hugely constipated. TMI but just went to the loo and feel like I was having a dress rehearsal of labour. Must buy fibogel!!!!!!! ????????????

QforCucumber · 05/08/2015 13:56

Thanks for all the well wishes - we knew it was coming but never nice to get the call. Less pain for us all now though.

Dp is the 3rd of 4, they're now 36, 34, 27 and 22 so you can imagine how many stories I've heard of the older 2 winding the younger 2 up. All boys too - I don't envy their mother at all.
I'm the eldest of 3 and the only girl so made sure I was boss at all times haha!
Both of us want at least 3 as both really liked the bigger family growing up Grin

Trinpy · 05/08/2015 13:59

Beautiful I'm one of 3 and it was ok but one of us was always left out. My aunt and uncle have 4 dc and they were always very close growing up and ended up sort of 'teaming up' in pairs. They are grown up now and the middle two children are still best friends.

My ds has his first ever tummy bug Sad. He was sick lots during the night and has diarrhoea and off his food today. Not really what I want to deal with when I have morning all day sickness myself. I might give the pregnacare a break too for a bit and see if it makes a difference. I have anti sickness tablets but I feel bad taking medication every day.

marmitemofo · 05/08/2015 14:29

oh no trinpy! hope DS gets better soon. I think the first tummy bug is the worst, well I found it anyway, after a couple me and DP sort of knew what to do, the first time DD was sick all night we were absolutely clueless! best piece of advice I read was to layer loads of towels in the bed then you just peel of each layer as they're sick! also, put anything with sick in it straight into a bucket/bath with dettol to disinfect. First time DD was sick we didn't do that and ended up catching the sickness ourselves... that was a grim, grim weekend

Herewegoagain31 · 05/08/2015 14:41

We've had two sickness bugs here but the first one was definitely the worst! I am pretty anal about cleaning and germs and hand washing etc and after our first one (where we all came down with it) I was militant the second time, literally dettol-ed the whole house and DH and I STILL both got it! So i think next time I'm not going to bother with the dettol and just resign myself to the inevitable! On the plus side the second time although DH and I caught it we weren't actually sick just felt awful and were each in bed for a day. Anyway I digress - Trinpy I hope your DS is better soon and that you don't catch it x

Missdee2014 · 05/08/2015 15:46

Liking all the stories of families with 4 dc. I'm feeling a little apprehensive as I have 2 dds aged 8 and 11 so there will be a 9 and 12 yr gap between them and the baby and we don't plan on any more! Is anyone the youngest of 3 with a big gap? Both me and dp only have 1 sibling each. I'm youngest and he is the eldest in his family.

BeautifulLiar · 05/08/2015 16:23

Thanks everyone!

misdee - not quite what you asked but I'm the middle of 3. My sister is 10 years older than my brother and they've always had a fab relationship i don't talk to them

Sorry to hear about the sickness bugs. Just what you need! When my DD2 was 1 she had a sickness bug and I thought it was really cute and I quite liked looking after her Blush but I'm very strange and I'm never sick (unless pregnant!). She was sick on her 2nd birthday too actually...

maybebabybee · 05/08/2015 18:23

Gone from feeling starving all the time to not feeling hungry at all today. Taking advantage of it - nice to not be stuffing my face with crap all day long!

missdee don't worry about big age gaps. There are thirteen years between me and my little brother and I love him to bits. We're really close.

Sorry to hear about all the illnesses!

Me624 · 05/08/2015 19:35

I'm the middle one of three and I liked being part of a bigger family but didn't like being the middle - so I think having four is great! Having said that, this is dc#1 for me and I am almost expecting it to be the only one although will see how we go.

shieldbug · 05/08/2015 20:35

crispy thinking of you and hoping for a good outcome.

Q so sorry to hear of your granny.

I'm still feeling exhausted; slept for nearly 12 hours last night! Had horrible dreams about nasty things happening to dc. One part was so bad I woke myself up to check they were ok. Hope I don't keep getting dreams like those; far prefer the dreams about dh I have had in previous pg!!

treehouse I've not experienced pains as you describe; perhaps mention it to a gp if it doesn't improve?

BeautifulLiar · 05/08/2015 20:45

I had a dream last night that it was March, I had my baby, it was a beautiful baby girl... but she was 6 months old Confused

I'm just eating constantly to get the horrible taste out of my mouth...

MyNameIsSuz · 05/08/2015 21:11

Haha, beautiful, hopefully not a premonition - imagine the birth!!!

Tonight my stomach has properly popped out, I'm not kidding myself it's a bump already but it's really firm and I can't suck it in. Probably wind...? Last time I didn't show for ages, I didn't even tell work I was pregnant until 18 weeks! I'm only 9 weeks, it's too soon!

Trinpy · 05/08/2015 22:22

Thanks for the tips re stomach bugs. I'm completely unprepared for this, don't even have dettol in the house Shock. So far ds has thrown up on his bed, my bed, the sofa and pretty much every square inch of the kitchen. He's currently asleep on the sofa while his bed dries off. Every so often he half wakes up and is sick again. House looks a tip. Can't wait until dh gets home!

Missdee2014 · 05/08/2015 22:28

Scan appt arrived today - 2nd September! Can't come quick enough Grin

lilmisshopeful · 06/08/2015 02:15

Serious insomnia here! Second night running. Bit ironic as some nights I'm so tired I've been in bed by 7.30/8 and slept thru to morning (thankfully amazing dh is doing any night duties if dd wakes).

Also-and now this is pretty weird and let's face it impossible-lying in bed totally still and with everything quiet...I swear I think I can feel movements in my tummy. Not wind-type movements either. Surely feeling the baby this early is nigh impossible?! Quick google suggests some people have speculated it can happen but Dr Google has all sorts of rubbish as we all know! Still, nice to speculate :-) And apparently you feel movement earlier in subsequent pgs than in first

BeautifulLiar · 06/08/2015 07:37

God I know Suz, think I'd opt out now!

miss yayyy I have a scan date buddy! Mine is also 2nd September. How far along do you think you'll be? 27 days to go! Grin

Paperblank · 06/08/2015 07:56

Lilmiss

The insomnia is horrible. I wake up at about 3 and my mind is racing.

As a result it's making the exhaustion worse Sad

Brew Thanks

I suppose it's good practice for the night feeds!

MyNameIsSuz · 06/08/2015 08:16

Me too paper! 4am for me this morning and I was awake about an hour, just lying there stressing about stuff. Come 6am when my tiny-boy-shaped alarm clock clambered into my bed I was completely incapable of getting up. I have a lot of stressful things going on at the moment anyway but pregnancy hormones seem to give me terrible anxiety and I'm really hoping it won't last the whole nine months Sad

Missdee2014 · 06/08/2015 08:17

Beautiful, I'll be 12+2 according to my lmp dates. What about you?

lilmisshopeful · 06/08/2015 08:33

So exciting that 12 week scans are starting to feel pretty close!

Indomitable · 06/08/2015 09:15

lilmiss that's really exciting that you think you can feel movements. How far along are you now?

I'm 6+6 today. Yesterday I felt terrible, exactly as I remembered it for DS. Nauseous all day, headache all day, exhausted. I know I could take paracetamol but I'm trying not to. Headache is better this morning thankfully.

Hoping I can get back to how I was earlier this week: a bit ropey till lunchtime then largely normal.

marmitemofo · 06/08/2015 09:24

I've also started suffering from insomnia this week... not sure what time I woke up this morning but when I finally gave up and looked at the clock it was 5.30am Sad

nausea still here but it's definitely milder than with DD. I think I'm going to have to accept that this pregnancy has fewer symptoms and try not to worry about it. It's not like I had really strong symptoms that faded, more that they've just been less. Obviously I have googled loads and it does seem that every pregnancy is different, so just have to keep my FX. my scan can't come quick enough. According to my midwife, going by LPM I'm 9+2, so I should expect my scan in a few weeks (though going by ov I think I'm more like 8+4). I have to ring up tomorrow morning to get my scan date, can't wait! it still doesn't feel like a reality yet, I don't think it will do until I get the all clear at the scan. Starting to feel really nervous about it Confused

BeautifulLiar · 06/08/2015 09:26

By LMP dates I'll be 13 + 3 which is annoying, but I've had a scan around that stage before and it's amazing seeing the baby that big.

Suz I got anxiety in my previous pregnancy and it was horrible. Trying to block any anxious thoughts now before they spiral.

Rosieblossom123 · 06/08/2015 09:26

Safe to say I have been sick every single day this week at work, don't wajnt to eat anything just exhausted :( really hope I start feeling better!

Still waiting for my scan app to come through, my booking app was on Monday, how long did you guys have to wait i'm 9+1 today, the wait is killing me :(
