Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Missdee2014 · 01/08/2015 20:34

So different here in Scotland. I called my surgery as soon as I got my bfp and was booked in with the midwife. Thereafter she sent my referral to the hospital to arrange scan and everything else goes through her.

MyNameIsSuz · 01/08/2015 20:51

Think it's different everywhere missd, I'm in the home counties and mine was more similar to yours, had to book in with the Dr then with the midwife and they sort out scan appointments. Our midwives are all based at a teeny MLU in my town, hospital is about 40 minutes away, maybe that's why it's different.

Got my scan appointment through today! Wednesday the 26th so only 3 and a half weeks away, and the day before I'm 12 weeks. It's a relief, last time I was 13 and a half weeks at my scan and it was a hard wait!

julesldn · 01/08/2015 21:23

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend so far :) I went holiday clothes shopping today - my usual size no longer fits me and my body has changed shape. Was exhausting too! Argh!!!

Londonlady - im also at St. Thomas'! When's your due date? As far as I can remember I self referred on a thurs eve and got my letter the following sat with both booking in appointment (wednesday coming) and scan date (18th aug). Annoyingly im on hols then and tried to get it earlier but the guy wasn't having any of it! Said they were fully booked. So scan is now on the 25th. Hope that helps a bit!!

Also think I'll be 13/14 weeks at my scan - argh! Worried this means they won't be able to do the tests for disabilities etc?

purplesnail · 01/08/2015 23:20

The booking in system for me is annoying, have to see gp to confirm pregnancy which is just me saying 'I'm pregnant' and gp saying when was your last period. The midwives are at the gp surgery so dont see why you cant just go staight to them. I have my gp appointment this week and I'm already nine weeks, my booking in appointment isnt until I'm 11 weeks so hoping can get my scan sorted quickly.
I'm feeling really sick still with the worst being afternoon evening, I have found I feel lots better when not at home, I'm starting to wonder if something in the house triggers it but have no idea what it could be.

Missdee2014 · 02/08/2015 00:04

Purple I'm the same in that I feel awfully sick particularly in the afternoon/early evening and seems worse when I'm at home! I'm away from home on holiday this week so I guess I'll know in a day or two if it's my imagination.

TMI alert - constipation. Anyone else suffering? I had diarrhoea on Wednesday morning and haven't been to the toilet since. I'm getting really uncomfortable now and really need some ideas on how best to get me going again Shock

julesldn · 02/08/2015 00:46

Missdee - yup, also constipated! ???? mines definitely down to lack of fibre as im barely eating any fruit and veg at the moment and gorging on carbs. Reckon yours is diet related or just general symptom? If so, wonder if natural laxatives from the chemist would help?

julesldn · 02/08/2015 00:46

...(or if you can even take them??)

marmitemofo · 02/08/2015 06:32

I'm also constipated Sad so bloated and uncomfortable! I think laxitatives are a no but you can take fybogel, I had bad constipation with my DD and was advised to take fybogel. it's basically just a sachet of powder you dissolved in water for a high fiber drink so just gets things moving and you can take it twice a day for as long as you need to.

marmitemofo · 02/08/2015 06:34

also, today is my last day of my 20's Confused I've got my booking in appt tomorrow though so have actually been looking forward to my 30th birthday haha

Missdee2014 · 02/08/2015 07:54

Yeah it's possible it is diet related as I know I've not been eating enough of the right things. Although saying that, things that normally make me go I've tried but still nothing. Might nip out and get some fybogel today and give it a go. Thanks Smile

Londonlady2015 · 02/08/2015 08:07

Happy birthday for tomorrow marmite you are exactly one year younger than me! Smile

Will just have to wait patiently for the midwif appt to be confirmed then! I was never very good at that... Blush

Me624 · 02/08/2015 09:14

jules they can do the nuchal screening up until 13+6 I think so you should be ok.

Happy birthday for tomorrow marmite! All being well, my next birthday will be about 2 weeks before my due date so I don't think it'll be a very fun one!

Indomitable · 02/08/2015 09:48

Happy birthday for tomorrow marmite!

My next birthday will be about 3 weeks before due date too, I hope.

BeautifulLiar · 02/08/2015 09:51

purple I'm worse in the house too. But then I haven't been outside since Wednesday Sad can't see me going out any time soon either. It's the thought of battling against the sickness and exhaustion to get not only myself but three children ready, I just can't do it.

BeautifulLiar · 02/08/2015 09:52

My birthday was 2 days before BFP Smile

Babybrain153 · 02/08/2015 10:44

I'm approx 10n half weeks n last couple days my nausea has turned to full on sickness .. I was hoping it would all stop soon ???? scans on 17th so around 12n half weeks .. Going slowly now I've had the date

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 02/08/2015 10:46

Just quickly popping me head in waves. April Fool's baby expected here according to HCG shot timetable However, according to FF temps my ovulation suggests the 31st of March for baby instead. Hence xposting introductions here and to April board.
I'll drop in more regularly once we've had our first scan at seven weeks and know EDD better, know that all is well dead nervous, and get to know you all better.
It'll be our second (DC is 16months) and we've been trying since October 2014 so high time. We're decrepid old hence the rush.
Blood hcg levels, for those in the know I honestly have no idea? were 50 at 11dpo, 142 at 13dpo, and 5106 at 21dpo. Hope that bodes well. No real symptoms except sore boobs, a few headaches, a bit off my food and panicking everyday I will forgot to take my progesterone and doom the pregnancy!
Am 5w2d today. :)

Missdee2014 · 02/08/2015 10:47

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Marmite ????

My DP's birthday is 10 days before my EDD so he's quite happy for baby to arrive any time after his birthday so he can at least have 1 last birthday before they get forgotten about for the next 20 odd years ????

QforCucumber · 02/08/2015 11:13

London and marmite happy days for tomorrow hope you both have wonderful sober ones Smile
Spent the day at a wedding yesterday, only drank water but so exhausted today I'd swear I was hungover!
No symptoms at all except for sore boobs now so now getting too excited for the scan next week, thinking bad news may be on the cards but we shall see. 7+5 today.

MyNameIsSuz · 02/08/2015 12:00

Happy birthday for tomorrow marmite and London! I had a sober one too this year, and going for dinner even was challenging, still nice though.

Tiredness has got me today. Up at 6 with the boy, flaked on the sofa til 9ish watching Here Comes a Fire Engine and the Clangers, had a shower then fell asleep again! Poor ds. He's just off now with daddy for a thrilling walk to the supermarket. I must take him at least to the playground at the end of the road later, and i have a billion things to do which I could get done while they're out, but for now I'm still lying on my bed. Urgh.

BeautifulLiar · 02/08/2015 12:46

Also laying in bed here Suz. Thank god DH had one measly day off from working away so he can take the kids out. Although he hasn't planned anything so thinks he's just going to take them to toys r us Hmm yes that's what I need, MORE toys everywhere!!

LaraNotCroft22 · 02/08/2015 12:55

Happy birthdays Marmite and London!i had a sober birthday ten days ago. Went for a delicious meal, just a shame my appetite isn't what it normally is.

Dh has birthday also ten days before due date, won't be much fun for him (he didn't drink at all for two weeks before ds in case things happened early).

Also counting down to scan date on the 12th when I'll be 11+2 by ov date. Worried it may be a bit early for nuchal testing?!

Hope everyone's having a lovely relaxing weekend, my mothers cooking me a roast later which makes me happy Smile

Me624 · 02/08/2015 13:24

Q try not to worry. Lots of us haven't had many symptoms and everything has been fine.

Lara all my internet research says 11+3 is the earliest they can do it, but don't worry, if it's too early they'll just ask you to come back again in another week. It's only a problem for me because I'm on holiday between 12+1 and 14+1 - worst possible timing! Booked long before getting my bfp. But the midwife has assured me that if they can't do the nuchal screening, there is a separate blood test they can do around week 14 instead.

I have a summer cold Sad I'm so bunged up, it's horrible! We had a party yesterday (also long planned) and I was worried about how I'd hide the not drinking so at least the cold gave me a good excuse - I just told everyone I felt too rough to drink! Every cloud I suppose ...

julesldn · 02/08/2015 14:55

Happy birthday for tomorrow marmite and londonlady!!

My birthday will also be around 2 weeks before our due date and we're going to a wedding on my birthday too. So a sober birthday here and will probably be the size of a whale too haha!

Marmite - yes fibrogel is the kind of thing I mean! Gets everything moving so to speak ???? might have to take a trip to the chemist tomorrow - joy!

Missdee2014 · 02/08/2015 15:22

Happy birthday for tomorrow to you too London ????
