Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
julesldn · 31/07/2015 20:04

Missdee - glad to hear they have a proper plan with treatment and from what I've read in the past, hopefully a mastectomy should work pretty well. Not nice for your mum (or you and your family) to go through but it sounds like it will be for the best.

Plus, although the genetics sounds scary, the fact that they know it's possibly genetic means they'll keep a good eye on you all which is what's most important.

Hope you can now relax and enjoy your holiday knowing you'll be there for the important bits xxx

Missdee2014 · 31/07/2015 20:08

Thanks Me and Jules. I've completely avoided Google up til now and intend to keep it that way and wait and see what the specialists say. Maybe then once I'm a bit more informed I might delve a little myself on Google. Right now though my priority is for my mum to get rid of the beast and get better and to have a healthy pregnancy. If nothing else, I'll have what will be my last baby breast fed from them and then see about getting them off if need be Wink

julesldn · 31/07/2015 20:45

Missdee - think you're right, Google won't tell you anything a specialist can't and it will probably terrify you for no apparent reason. Don't do it!

Elective masectomy... Very Angelina Jolie! Wink

Currently eating a steak and ale pie on my own watching tv and listening to the upstairs neighbours plod around having some kind of party. Next time someone's feeling down feel free to ask about my sexually active neighbours - I have many many stories!!! ShockHmm

BeautifulLiar · 31/07/2015 20:56

oh god jules I hope I'm not your neighbour Shock

julesldn · 31/07/2015 22:01

I'm not sure beautiful... Does your overweight husband like getting spanked..?! ????????????

BeautifulLiar · 31/07/2015 22:40

Oooook I'm definitely not your neighbour! Grin

We've heard some cracking arguments from next door...

julesldn · 31/07/2015 22:53

Hahaha thank god!!!

Love an overheard argument! Any golden moments??

BeautifulLiar · 31/07/2015 23:02

"I'm calling the police now, I've had enough."

In a very posh voice:

"Oh! You're going to call them are you? Because I asked for the gas meter reading? 'Sir, you have been charged with asking for the gas meter reading, HOW DO YOU PLEAD?!'"

They were my old neighbours. RIP posh alcoholics Wine

Indomitable · 31/07/2015 23:20

You know when you click on Threads I'm Watching and the first line you see is "I'm calling the police now..."

I was like, "shit! What's going on?"
But, oh, anecdotes. Phew!

I once called the police on upstairs neighbours. Sounded like he was beating the crap out of her. I couldn't believe the way he spoke to her. Don't know what came of it.

BeautifulLiar · 31/07/2015 23:35

Hahaha sorry!

Yeh that's the issue with the current neighbours. In their 50s. Although they do seem to have gone quiet!

I'll be pay back time when I have a screaming newborn...

julesldn · 01/08/2015 00:39

Hahaha great story and great reaction indomitable!

Neighbours currently having party. Their friend sung opera (at 12:30am) and then they all got really excited and then started singing the timewarp and always look on the bright side of life ????????????

Anyway, time for me to try and sleep and stop moaning haha!

lilmisshopeful · 01/08/2015 08:31

Sorry I am totally behind on the thread in the last couple of days. We had people over for dinner last night (arranged before I knew I was pg) and my goodness what a mission. Felt so grim the whole day having to prepare all the food-all stuff I can't bear the idea of at the moment-and was already exhausted by the time they arrived. Managed to fall asleep in the armchair after dinner! Ooops. We had to tell them our news as me not drinking would be a big giveaway, plus the fact that I had a different dinner to everyone else :-)

Hope everyone has loved weekends planned x

marmitemofo · 01/08/2015 11:14

morning all! I feel gross today. yesterday was the worst so far and today is shaping up to be just as bad. Drove to Heathrow to pick up DP this morning and he's jet lagged so we're both being a bit useless. poor DD!

I've got my booking in appointment on Monday Grin. can't wait! even though I know its going to be a bore fest it still feels like a mini milestone...

sherazade · 01/08/2015 12:12

Sorry so behind . Too sick to even type . Just came to offer my condolences to poor kitty. In truely sorry for your loss Sad

BeautifulLiar · 01/08/2015 12:37

Also feel awful today.

MIL has taken the kids to the park! Thank god. It was hard explaining to her why I currently live in a shit hole and look like death...

On the plus side I now have childcare sorted for the 12 week scan (which I think will actually be at 13 weeks! anyone else?).

Currently waiting for the Asda delivery. I've ordered chocolate cakes, eclairs, muffins, pancakes and pain au chocolat. Bring it on.

BeautifulLiar · 01/08/2015 13:11

Booking appointment through - August 18th, when I'll be 11 weeks! Quite late, but at least it's another thing to focus on and try not to vomit during

Emmalbae · 01/08/2015 13:22

Good afternoon.
So tired today- just done a bit of shopping and feel like I could sleep again now.
Last night in bed had a sudden wave of nausea only just made it to the bathroom on time.
Booked a private scan for 29th August just for some reausrance . Had early epu scan yesterday after bleeding which showed a embryo and heartbeat but I didn't want to wait until the nhs dating scan to see if everything is ok again.
Dated at 6+3 yesterday which I think is impossible as I got my bfp on 6th July so earliest I could possibly is 7 weeks. Any had any expierences with incorrect dating at early scans?

Indomitable · 01/08/2015 13:26

There was a thread in actives earlier about incorrect dating on scans. My sis had her 12 wk scan and was dated 9 weeks, meaning she got her BFP before conception Hmm

I think there's more variation in early development than is commonly believed.

Emmalbae · 01/08/2015 14:03

Thanks.
Yep if I was due 22nd March it means I got my bfp on 2 weeks plus 6 days. Almost impossible i believe, I got my bfp on about 3 weeks 2 days albeit the faintest line ever which took about five minutes to show but the day after I got a clear blue 1-2 and a positive fr test.
Just hoping baby is developing ok. I know it's only four days out but I do worry about everything.

Londonlady2015 · 01/08/2015 16:10

Hi everyone,

Not sure if this is normal or not but to sign up to a hospital I had to fill in a self referral form then email it to the maternity unit. I did this on Weds and obv don't expect to hear anything straight away but how long does it normally take to get an appointment?
My main concern is that I'm away for 2.5 weeks (around 8-10.5 weeks pregnant) so don't want to miss anything crucial...

Any advice welcome!

maybebabybee · 01/08/2015 16:37

London I self referred to my maternity unit as hospital (havent even seen GP yet) and received a letter confirming my booking in appointment within the week :) I also emailed it through. My hospital is UCLH in case that happens to be yours too!

Emmalbae · 01/08/2015 16:43

Hi I self referred on the Monday 13th July I got my letter on the Friday of that week and they have given me an appointment on 11th August to give me a date for a dating scan.

Londonlady2015 · 01/08/2015 17:10

Oh fab sounds quite quick then! maybe I've referred to St Thomas as I'm south of the river Smile

Herewegoagain31 · 01/08/2015 20:10

It's funny how they are all so different even in the same place - I'm at Chelsea Westminster and had to go to my GP to get a referral! My booking appt is this Friday I'll be exactly 11 weeks then and my scan the Friday after when I'll be 12 weeks. Took about 2 weeks for my booking letter to come and over 3 for my scan letter

maybebabybee · 01/08/2015 20:29

Here I had an early scan at Chelsea and Westminster when I had my MC as I work in south Kensington - they're very nice there.

My booking appt is 12 August - I'll be 10+3 I think.
