Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Oh Miss, you're absolutely right to feel the way you do, and this is as good a place as any to offload.

Fingers crossed the treatment will be straightforward and effective. Hoping it's all as good as it can be.

I sympathise with your allergies. I've woken up with a streaming cold, my sinuses are so sore! But, can't take anything, of course.

DH is being a legend, brought me a fried breakfast in bed (despite two of my apps telling me to avoid greasy food. As if.) and is entertaining DS downstairs with video games.

I'm not sure this good will will last the rest of the holidays, so need to drag myself out soon.

julesldn · 31/07/2015 12:09

Beautiful - so glad you found them!!! We should stop together so if it's awful we can go through it together haha

Miss - really hope they give you some clear answers with the results and treatment starts asap. Completely understandable about the holiday but do try your best to relax as much as possible, you definitely deserve it. Sending hugs!!!!

MyNameIsSuz · 31/07/2015 12:40

Oh miss, that sounds tough, hopefully things will look better once you've got some answers and a treatment plan.

I had my booking in with the midwife today, have to go back to get my bloods done at the doctors as she couldn't get any. This happens every time, bruises in both elbows and nothing to show for it! At least she didn't take it from the back of my hand like they did last time...

JoannaZZ · 31/07/2015 12:54

Missed a few days on here - only had time to skim read but will catch up properly in a bit.

We told dps parents after the scan, they are so excited because it's their first grandchild. But then I got some bad news from my blood tests, turns out I have hypothyroidism which is not great while pregnant Sad Stupidly asked Dr Google which made me worry like crazy, but today I have started taking medicine (thyroid hormones), feels good to at least be doing something about it. Really really hope the baby hasn't been harmed, I feel like I should have known before but I didn't have any symptoms so how could I?

I don't want any of you to start worrying, apparently it's quite rare to get this when pregnant so chances are it's just me out of all of us!

ImGoingForATwix · 31/07/2015 13:16

I'm terrible at keeping up on here at the moment but just want to send ???? to all those who have had a hard time or suffered a loss.

Me624 · 31/07/2015 13:23

Sorry to hear that Joanna, at least it can be controlled with medication though.

I managed to book my scan today! The hospital has a policy that they won't do it before 12 weeks and I'm on holiday between 12+1 and 14+1, but luckily they managed to fit me in first thing in the morning on 12+0 so I don't even need to take more time off work. She did say there's a small chance that they won't be able to take the measurements if it's a bit early, but everything I've seen online says it can be done from 11+3 so hopefully I should be ok.

I'm pleased it's booked as now I've got something to look forward to. However I've got to fit in a blood test between now and then, everything is so disjointed round here, I have to go to a walk in clinic in a completely different town to have the bloods done!

Lucy61 · 31/07/2015 13:40

ThanksThanks To all those who have suffered a loss or having a tough time.

Lucy61 · 31/07/2015 13:41

Ps. Well said goingforatwix

Lucy61 · 31/07/2015 13:47

I have a confession - I'm in maternity clothes already ConfusedConfused

I'm too big for all my clothes and not a single pair of trousers/ jeans fit. I'm 9weeks so it's soo early but my goodness am I comfortable now or what! No digging in or unflattering bulges. Thank you h&m maternity section!

JoannaZZ · 31/07/2015 13:58

Lucy I also don't fit into my normal clothes! Luckily a pair of jeans I bought back in April turned out to be too big, but now they are the only ones that fit Hmm So I accidentally bought my maternity jeans a few months before getting pregnant. Soon even they won't fit though, looking forward to checking out the h&m maternity section! (Can't go there yet in case I bump into someone I know!)

BeautifulLiar · 31/07/2015 14:02

I'm panicking as I can never find maternity clothes that fit me - I'm only 5 foot!!

Today is another bad day. I haven't actually got out of bed yet... the kids are doing a fab job of entertaining themselves! Blush

JoannaZZ · 31/07/2015 14:03

Thank you Me624, yes I'm glad it can be treated and that the treatment is safe during pregnancy. Am also glad I had the scan at the same time as the blood test, so at least I know everything looked fine on the scan.

Lucy61 · 31/07/2015 14:12

I did feel like I had to be on full alert incase I was spotted. Felt like the episode of Father Ted when the priests were trapped in 'the biggest lingerie section in Ireland'.

Was planning to wait till after the scan to buy clothes but I couldn't go out into birthday suit! Also, buying clothes a size bigger feels like a waste of money.

Me624 · 31/07/2015 14:47

I am hoping to stay out of maternity clothes as long as possible, especially for work - I'm a lawyer so have to dress quite smartly and I'm dreading having to spend a fortune on maternity workwear! My tummy feels enormous already but I still fit fine into all my jeans and clothes, I am just steering clear of very fitted dresses and tops as i don't want people to see a bulge and guess (or worse, just think I'm looking porky!)

Brindler · 31/07/2015 15:02

Hi ladies, I've not posted in a while but have been trying to keep an eye on the thread .

I'm now 7+5 and I've just booked an early scan for tomorrow afternoon. Had some spotting this morning and it's freaked me out even though I had it with dd (although not til much later)

Coincidentally this would be the day I would be due on if I wasn't pg. do you think that might be it?

JoannaZZ · 31/07/2015 16:02

I'm not an expert Brindler but it would make sense to think that our bodies still have some cycle hormones in there so you might be more likely to have spotting on days when you would normally be on? But I'm just guessing.

From what I've heard spotting is often completely normal and nothing to worry about. It's good that you have a scan booked for tomorrow so you won't be left wondering for too long.

marmitemofo · 31/07/2015 16:09

afternoon ladies just checking in. feel awful today ugh. DP back tomorrow can't wait, I'm doing sweet FA this weekend.

Lucy I'm also in maternity clothes! none of my jeans fit me and I'm all bloated even though only 7+5. but my maternity under the bump jeans are too big for me ... just bought some maternity jeans on eBay a size down, hoping that works. my mum took me shopping today for new clothes as it's my bday on Monday but nothing fit me in the store, I felt fat, gross, bloated and sick! ugh it was depressing!

MyNameIsSuz · 31/07/2015 17:17

I think that's what happened to me brindler, I had a 25 day cycle, had spotting exactly when my period was due and again last week at 7+2. I panicked too and they sent me for an early scan which was all fine. I've heard of bleeding occurring in line with periods, hopefully that's what yours is too.

BeautifulLiar · 31/07/2015 17:37

The bloatedness etc is another reason this trimester sucks. Bring on the bumps!

DH is still working away, and I've been REALLY struggling with all day sickness and three young kids. They've basically been looking after themselves.

So he has HIRED HIS SISTER to do "house keeping and look after the kids 3-4 times a week" Shock I'm really glad he's stepped up and the kids will love seeing their cousins but I'm so embarrassed!! For a start although she's a lovely girl she's very much the "black sheep" of their family and sometimes there'll be months without contact. I personally haven't spoken to her for ages!!

Holy shit.

Emmalbae · 31/07/2015 17:41

Hi everyone 21 #baby number 1. Edd- 22nd March 2016.
Had early scan today as had some bleeding a couple weeks ago which showed me a 7mm embryo with a heartbeat estimated at 6+3 however I reckon I'm more like 6+6
Marking my place.

Missdee2014 · 31/07/2015 18:54

Thanks for the well wishes folksSmile. Mum got her results and she's going in for a mastectomy a week on Monday so thankfully ill be home by then. 3 weeks later she begins chemo and will have it 3 weekly for 6 sessions. They are confident it's genetic so been referred to genetics. Hmm Not good given she's the 3rd of her sisters to have breast cancer and I have 14 female first cousins on my mums side and between us we have 10 daughters between us Hmm

JoannaZZ · 31/07/2015 19:08

Had a whole pizza and now I feel so sick. Only dry heaving but am considering sticking a finger in my mouth just to be sick and hopefully feel better after. But maybe it's better to keep it down. Am so fed up after weeks of "morning" sickness without any vomiting! (Sorry about the boring post.)

JoannaZZ · 31/07/2015 19:16

My little problem fixed itself Blush

QforCucumber · 31/07/2015 19:17

I just ate a lemon meringue pie - and feel so so ill now oops.
No symptoms today - until I took my bra off, my god agony!

Me624 · 31/07/2015 19:42

Flowers missdee. Caught early the success rates for treatment are really good. Take good care of your mum but make sure you take care of yourself too!
