Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

maybe it's so hard not to analyse and fret over every little change, symptoms changing etc. But try not to worry-much more likely that things are ok than not.

Welcome camembert!

Weather today is just hideous here so we've come home after the scan and I'm installed on the sofa with the duvet, cup of tea, and a sugary donut (while DD has another day of two much cbeebies watching). Perfect way of celebrating the scan going well, seeing as I can't have a glass of fizz. DH said he'd have one for me this evening. He's all heart :-)

lilmisshopeful · 24/07/2015 13:53

Oops too much cbeebies. Oh drar

lilmisshopeful · 24/07/2015 13:54

Dear!

Celen · 24/07/2015 13:59

How far along are you maybe? I've only got sore boobs & fatigue & tend to need an extra wee at night but that's it so far. This is my third pregnancy (hopefully my second successful one!) and I recall my first being blissfully symptom-free. It's hard not to worry I know but some of us are just lucky not to feel too horrendous (yet!).

Missdee2014 · 24/07/2015 14:03

Tired n crabbit today. Told a close colleague/friend and my dp has taken the huff as he hasn't yet told his closest friends and is insisting we don't tell anyone else til after our scan. Says it's different for him as this is his first baby and my 3rd and he wants to tell his friends once we know all is well. Am I out of order for telling someone without discussing with him? Or is he for being such an arse about it?

maybebabybee · 24/07/2015 14:44

Celen I'm 6+5. I'm more worried because I have been feeling sicky and today I'm not. Still have sore boobs though.

Celen · 24/07/2015 15:04

I've booked my private scan for 2 weeks today...it's going to be a very long & obsessive 14 days Confused

Cherrytoes · 24/07/2015 15:16

Hi all
Could I please tentatively join? Ttc for 2 years then had a mmc at 6 weeks in April this year, by some miracle managed to fall pregnant again so soon after and think I'm due March 8th.
Terrified of even joining a thread and somehow tempting fate but could use the support of you ladies in a similar boat to me!
I'm another with very few symptoms, no sickness. Sore boobs and a few headaches, some food aversions, need to wee is a bit more urgent at times, fluttery heart sometimes and maybe fatigue but quite possibly just laziness!
Maybe, my (very minor) symptoms seen to have tailed off today too but I think sometimes when you've got that thought in your head your mind can take over and convince yourself they have completely disappared!!
I've also read it's normal for any symptom to be a bit intermittent it's only if you're really suffering strongly then they suddenly all stop which may be cause for concern so please try not to worry.

So for now im trying to take my own advice and just be happy I'm on the bus at all!! (like all of us I wish it were that easy!!!)

Trinpy · 24/07/2015 16:11

Hello cherry and congratulations! Sounds like you have quite a few symptoms to me Smile. Are you planning on having an early scan for reassurance or are you waiting until 12 weeks?

Those of you who are having early scans privately - who are you having them with and how much is it costing you? I looked at babybond and their early scan costs £99(!) which is a lot when I'll probably be having a scan in 6 week anyway. I'm just panicking a bit because I don't have any symptoms yet whereas I had loads of symptoms with my ds.

maybebabybee · 24/07/2015 16:22

Welcome cherry

Thank you that is really reassuring. Tbh I haven't had very strong symptoms at all, just very hungry and acidic feeling in stomach which seems to have abated today. It's not like I was puking loads and now I'm fine. My only other symptom was slightly sore boobs which I still have.

Celen · 24/07/2015 16:23

Trinpy I've noticed it varies hugely with costs of scans! Near Oxford it can be £90-95 but in areas of Kent £60-70.

Cherrytoes · 24/07/2015 16:52

Trinpy, yes ive just plucked up the courage to ask my GP for one next week, I was lucky and can get one on the NHS (she took my heart rate and it was through the roof and said ooook you need to calm down so I'll refer you!) however I would agree with someone else who said (sorry forgotten who!) wait until 8+ weeks if you possibly can. Last time I went at 6+ weeks and far from it being reassuring it was awful because they couldn't give a definite good or bad outcome - couldn't find heartbeat but said could be too early, had to wait another 8 days for mmc to be confirmed!

Maybe, funnily enough youve described exactly how I felt for the past few days, not entirely nauseous but a little sicky and an acidic feeling in my tummy, but this has gone away today. Cramps have stopped today too. It's so hard when you've or few symptoms and you desperately want to hang on to them! In my non-expert opinion if you've had no bleeding and still got sore boobs think we should both try not to worry though!

Rosieblossom123 · 24/07/2015 16:55

lilmisshopeful that's great news told you not to worry :) can't wait for my scan!! Needs to hurry up its worth the wait tho isn't it

ClumsyPickle1 · 24/07/2015 17:26

Hi all, first post here having discovered I'm pregnant with my first after TTC for almost six years! I had a confirmation scan last week which confirmed I'm now six and a bit, weeks pregnant so due mid-March time Smile It all feels completely surreal!!! Trying to stay positive but not get ahead of myself at this early stage....

Me624 · 24/07/2015 17:27

Trinpy I'm in the South east and I'm having a private scan tomorrow (eeeek! So excited!) for £90. It's a bit cheaper during the week but I didn't want to be taking time off work.

I am so unbelievably bloated and my boobs are HUGE. However those are my only real symptoms so try not to worry maybe.

QforCucumber · 24/07/2015 17:39

Argh - at a wedding next Saturday and went shopping for a dress today, nothing looks nice, nothing fits, I didn't like anything
I'm blaming the hormones but I want to strop and cry!

lilmisshopeful · 24/07/2015 17:52

Welcome clumsy! Huge congrats that's lovely. You must be so thrilled!

Rosie you were right indeed. Thank you for wise, calming words. I'm so relieved it's all looking good :-)

JoannaZZ · 24/07/2015 18:32

Maybe and cherry, I'm having the exact same thing too! Been feeling slightly nauseous for a couple of weeks now but today (8+0) I feel so much better! I even had a normal-sized portion for dinner, I usually only eat a tiny amount once an hour, then I get too full. Trying to enjoy feeling better and not to worry too much. Easier said than done I know Hmm

julesldn · 24/07/2015 18:36

Congrats and welcome to new members!

Qfor - I feel exactly the same. Really fat and bloated and blurgh. Going to the DPs parents for the weekend and laid out jeans and tshirts for the whole weekend.

Dp just got home to pack the bag and called me to ask if maybe he should add some kind of blouse or nice top as well ???? too tired and ill to care how I look Id rather just wear pjs tbh!

maybebabybee · 24/07/2015 18:45

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, its nice to come here and vent. DH just thinks I'm nuts!

Welcome to all newbies.

Cherrytoes · 24/07/2015 18:49

Congratulations Clumsy! I think that's definitley the right/only way to look at things! I'm trying to stay positive but not getting ahead of myself - not even thought about dates when I would be the Magic 12 weeks etc. Someone said to me hope for the best but prepare for the worst, not a bad philosophy in these early few weeks! Even getting this far is a massive achievement tho so massive congrats!

Celen · 24/07/2015 19:18

Odd symptom that I didn't realise could be pregnancy related - thirst. I'm really thirsty especially in the evenings. This is annoying as I try to restrict my fluids with the extra peeing at night!

Anyone else have this? Don't google it though - I did and an old discussion came up on MN suggesting it could be a sign of twins Grin Shock

Embolio · 24/07/2015 19:30

celen I had raging thirst in my first pregnancy, just the one baby though hahaGrin

Hello to all the new thread joinees & congratulations!

Bloat central here, I wore my maternity jeans today as my normal ones so uncomfy. Hoping it's going to go down before actual bump arrives.

Had to tell a few people at work today as needed to swap with a colleague so I wasn't exposed to prolonged X-ray screening. Worried all afternoon that I had jinxed myself. Still in 2 minds about early scan, it's 99 quid here so v expensive, and I only think id only be reassured for the actual duration of the scan.

mrsrsw thinking of you, any news from scan today?

Embolio · 24/07/2015 19:48

Just catching up a bit more, my last labour was really quick but I'm hoping to be in the 'home from home' this time. Wouldn't consider home birth or our local MLU due to nearest hospital being an hour away and it's not a journey I want to do at 8cm dilated in an ambulance more than once in a lifetime!

shieldbug · 24/07/2015 20:20

Embolio Which "home from home" are you hoping for? Is that the one in the Ulster? I'm booked in for the Ulster rather than Lagan Valley because I have fibroids so the MLU there won't take me. TBH, I'm v. happy about that as my experience birthing ds1 in Lagan Valley before they became a MLU was really not great.

Celen Yes! I love the doughnut peaches. (I know that conversation was a while ago!) I'm also thirsty but strangely don't feel like drinking. It's not twins though!
Come to think of it, with so many on the bus, SOMEONE must be having twins. Who is it to be???

Lilmiss so glad you had good news.

Mrsrsw Thinking of you and hoping for good news.
