Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Wow b0nker5mum that's amazing! Wish my first labour was that fast. I was induced and 36 hideous hours later she finally came out after last minute emergency ventouse.

Rosie I'm 7+5 today. Have had two mcs since DD and one before her so a a bit anxious about tomorrow. Hoping the relentless nausea is a sign things are ok this time.

Trinpy · 23/07/2015 13:50

It's nice to see so many of us had/are having home births. I had a planned hb with ds and it was really nice and chilled out. I also ended up having my mum as an accidental birth partner because dh couldn't get home from work until the last minute, so this time round we were thinking of asking my dm to be birth partner again while dh looks after our toddler.

Celen · 23/07/2015 13:50

shieldbug have you tried the "doughnut" nectarines & peaches? They're sooooo sweet & juicy!

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 23/07/2015 13:52

Thats the other problem we would have with home birth - what would we do with DD? We have no family nearby so pil would have to come across and look after her at our house, I have visions of her wanting to get into the pool with me! And I have ridiculously light carpets!!! Wink

Chattymummyhere · 23/07/2015 14:00

I planned a home water Birth but my pool wasn't ready so I gave birth on a shower curtain on the livingroom floor with some cushions. Within 15 minutes of giving birth apart from a pool being in my livingroom nobody would of none I had her at home even my next door neighbour was surprised as they didn't hear a thing, my son woke up just before the critical moment so we rang my mum who ran round in her pj's (she lives 2 streets away). I was very sweet really as when she brought him downstairs she told me he had asked her if it was baby Santa he could hear crying. He was only 2 and it was in November we had let him put a tree up in his bedroom. He was a bit unsure of her to start with but by 4 hours later he was brining his cars and diggers over to show her.

Chattymummyhere · 23/07/2015 14:00

It was very sweet*

Not I silly phone

We were in the midwife led unit in Edinburgh last time and will hope for that again this time. The rooms were lovely and big and clean and had a birthing pool and 2beds - one for DH and one for me.

I had a 65 hour labour with a back to back baby and kind of lost control of the pain in the last few hours because I was so tired. Bloody loved the drugs tho!

Rosieblossom123 · 23/07/2015 14:18

lilmisshopeful don't worry hun, I had a mc two months ago and I didn't have any symptoms what so ever so I was always panicking, but now I have ever single symptom so I think that's what gives me hope. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that there's a little blueberry growing in there you know lol

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 23/07/2015 15:07

Surprised there are so many home births had or planned- we had one first time round with a doula there (thank god as midwife didn't ten up until 10 mins before she popped out) and gas & air didn't turn up wih next midwife until half hour after she was born. It was an amazing experience and hoping we are that lucky again!

My vice last time was chocolate oranges. I must have eaten thousands. This time all I really want so far is burgers yummmmmm.

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 15:15

First home birth was on a shower curtain in the living room. Somehow our other children slept through my screams! the neighbour didn't though

First day of the hols has been a complete disaster. Dd2 weed all over pizza hut, ds put dd2's clothes in the sanitary towel bin, dd1 screamed at me and hit me in the stomach :( I'm eating ripples now and feeling very sorry for myself. They're normally good kids and I didn't handle it well at all.

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 23/07/2015 15:27

Oh no BeautifulLiar maybe they are a bit off as they are out of routine! Sending you good vibes for the rest of the holidays or at least a few days!

I've been lucky today DD in nursery so I've had a break!

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 15:30

Thank you, smirking Smile they're at their grandparents this weekend and I'm counting down the hours...

Rosieblossom123 · 23/07/2015 16:00

BeautifulLiar sounds like you're having fun bless ya, when is you partner back?

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 16:02

Not sure Rosie :( possibly the weekend, but I daren't get my hopes up!

effie19 · 23/07/2015 16:27

I'll be at Lincoln Hospital BeautifulLiar should I be concerned?!

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 16:41

Oops, sorry effie!

My 'experience' was almost 7 years ago, so staff have probably changed! The labour ward treated me appallingly (confirmed at birth debrief in 2011) but the delivery suite was fab.

Rosieblossom123 · 23/07/2015 16:56

BeautifulLiar aw bless you, I really do feel for you, don't know how you do it. My stepson is staying with us for 10days coz we're going on holiday and all I want to do is sleep and relax on the sofa and bless him he wants to run around and play. felt so guilty yesterday coz my partner was having a shower and my stepson wanted me to play but I was so drained :( don't know how you do it 24/7!

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 17:04

School, nursery and a strict 7pm bedtime is how I get through Grin

treehousethunderstorm · 23/07/2015 17:29

Ooh smirking I'm on the Wirral too. Everything being well I'll be at Arrowe Park eyeing up the birthing pools.

Rosieblossom123 · 23/07/2015 17:47

BeautifulLiar Bless, I need to start learning haha

lilmisshopeful · 23/07/2015 18:02

Wow beautifulliar you sound busy! Supermama :-) I'm also consuming many many hula hoops. The salt and vinegar ones

lilmisshopeful · 23/07/2015 18:04

Thanks Rosie for positive vibes. It is tough worrying so much isn't it. I can barely move from the couch so am (very cautiously) hopeful that things are ok this time. At least by this time tomorrow we'll know either way. It's a walk in clinic for the EPU at our local hospital so we're aiming to get there when it opens at 9

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 18:12

Haha thanks. I'm majorly craving salt and vinegar things so have put some in the asda shop Smile

I have moved the kids bedtimes forward to 6:30 while a) I have sickness and b) DH is away. 20 minutes to go!

What's everyone having for tea tonight? Think I'm going to be grazing. Craving cheese... normally hate it

louwn · 23/07/2015 18:17

Can I join please? Very early on (14 dpo I think- which is 4 weeks?) and had 4 days of +ve tests - including a clearblue digital saying 'pregnant 2-3 weeks'. Period should be due around the next couple of days but think I ov'd on CD11 this month. Feeling excited yet nervous as its so early on. Think due date would be around 31st March.

BeautifulLiar · 23/07/2015 18:19

welcome louwn :) congratulations!
