Any of you worried about being induced my experience was good Smile
It was my first time (another one over 40) and it was so quick, only had gas and air right at the last minute when pushing Blush
Obviously everyone is different but just think you will have your lo in no time GrinGrin

MuddyWellyNelly · 10/07/2015 19:04

Good to know Tilly. Did the pessary do the trick?

gluenotsoup · 10/07/2015 19:41

Congratulations again to number and others , the babies are coming so quickly!

Good to know I am not the only one being induced for one reason or another, and that you found it a positive experience tilly! I do have my reservations but think it will be the right thing, and hope it will be straight forward having had 2 normal deliveries. Actually, I think I am ready with loads of braxton hicks, and quite a bit of pressure, plus I am so hormonal and tired, I think both me and baby are ready. Hope I hang on till Sunday as dd 1 is in a ballet show tomorrow, so I need to waddle my way in and hope for the best!

Tilly, what happhapphappened at the induction? Glad to hear you managed with just a little gas and air, as lots of reports say induction is more painful, or is that just with the drip?

gluenotsoup · 10/07/2015 19:42

Oops, sorry, not that scared of induction that I have developed a stutter. ..Grin

broodylicious · 10/07/2015 19:43

I called the birth centre earlier to discuss me being admitted/not on my bmi being half a point over their cut off. Mw was lovely and agreed my mw was wrong not to weigh me at my booking in appt when I was eight weeks as everything else is low risk. She gave me the details of the centre manager and I'm to call on Monday. I then mentioned - stupidly - about my iron levels. My last result was 9.9. Their cut off? Would you believe it's effing 10!!!! So in other words, if they stick to the rules, I'll miss out on my birth centre due to half a bmi point and 0.1 of effing iron!!!!

Haha glue, I hear you on the ballet thing! It was my dd's final ballet class today and big certificate ceremony and so after a few weeks of wanting baby to come, I had to reverse pray that it wouldn't make an appearance last night so I could watch her this morning!

I just had the pessary...it fell out at 3pm with a show
I started with regular pains and was 2cm at 5.30 then fully dilated at 6pm so it all felt rather quick Blush
Can't say it didn't hurt but I didn't have time to think about it and started pushing at 6pm she was out at 7pm Confused GrinGrin
Don't think the midwife believed me and was just about to give me 2 paracetamol!!

MissTwister · 10/07/2015 20:18

I was induced because my waters went. It was fine! Two lots of gel and a natural vaginal birth with Gas and Air and TENS only. About 7 hours in established labour. Good luck all! X

gluenotsoup · 10/07/2015 20:25

Thanks all , glad to know induction can be ok, and glad you got through the ballet presentatton broody ! Feel like it's all happening at once as yesterday was dd 2 s birthday too. X

HollyC255552 · 10/07/2015 20:38

Thanks all. Keep the positive induction stories coming...

I need to mentally prepare myself for Tuesday.

smallgreenbanana · 10/07/2015 21:50

broody Same iron rule as my unit by the sounds of it!

LaLaLaaaa · 10/07/2015 22:03

Anyone else able to confirm early labour signs please? I've been getting waves of periody back/stomach pain all day. Feel like I can't sit still for long. Felt very sick all day and baby has been constantly active.

At what point do you start looking to time these waves as potential contractions?

LaLaLaaaa · 10/07/2015 22:03

They're not strong enough to know start/finish just now

Aretepetite · 10/07/2015 22:21

When they become regular Lala time the length of contraction time and the period in between each one. See if a pattern develops !?
Though labour doesn't always go like this.

I have an app on phn called 'Full term' that is very easy to use to record frequency of contractions. I probably won't get to use it mind you

Look out for the pains becoming stronger and more frequent.

Good luck, keep us posted.
I'll keep checking back to see how your getting on.

My nightly BH have started Hmm just to wind me up Grin

LaLaLaaaa · 10/07/2015 22:34

Thank you!

SparklyPenguin · 10/07/2015 22:42

Congrats Tilly, Purple and Number on your new arrivals! Didn't mean to scare anyone with my bad experience of induction- the docs told me that my bad reaction to the pessary was very rare and couldn't have been foreseen. And having no prior experience of labour myself, I stupidly didn't go and get any help even after 4 hours of agonising frequent contractions as I thought that meant the pessary was 'doing its job' (actually if it had been left any longer it might well have ruptured my uterus!) Once the epidural went in, everything was stable again, waters went naturally and I dilated quickly. Was just very unlucky that baby's head position prevented progress at the end, hence the 4hours of pushing (ouch, ouch, ouch) and eventual forceps delivery. Medical team were awesome and honest with me all the way along, and although I've been through a lot physically, Seb got here in one piece and we should be out of hospital in the next couple of days. Good luck to those due in the next few days!!

SueV14 · 10/07/2015 22:50

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I didn't get to catch up on the thread for a couple of days, but congrats to all the new arrivals I may have missed in the last 48h. After my Thursday consultant app I was scheduled for a CS on Friday (yesterday) at 37+1 due to breech position and very low liquid level (from 10 down to 2.8 since 34 wk scan). And now I am a mommy to a beautiful little girl!

CS went well although I was very nervous but can't complain too much, I'm recovering well and all baby is doing is eating and pooping all day. (I wish I could say the latter about me though..... :-))))) )

JoY007 · 10/07/2015 23:09

Hi Ladies,

Blimey I predicted a bumper day for babies but so many have come I can't keep up! Congratulations to all you ladies having your newborn snuggles. Keep the pics and birth stories coming, it's great to see/hear them.

I had my last day at work today so hoping LO stays put for the mo so I can have some time off! Will be the only preggers one left at this rate Grin

LostSoulsForever · 11/07/2015 06:59

Oh wow - all these lovely babies! I have lost track so congratulations to you all!
I am getting more impatient by the day & struggling to keep my 2yr old entertained as everything is so much effort :(
See midwife on Monday but doubt she will do a sweep as will have another few days before at my due date.
Hope everyone else is in a better mood than me today!

Naturegirl82 · 11/07/2015 07:24

Hi everyone. Baby Joshua was born at 12.50 am on the 11th. Didn't have the pessary for induction as I was all ready 2.5cms dilated so they went straight for breaking my waters. Started the drip 1 hour later and Joshua turned up 2hrs 20 mins later so 3 hrs 20 mins all in. Weighs a whopping 9lb 6oz, but doing fab and feeding well. Labour was intense but I managed on just gas and air.

LaLaLaaaa · 11/07/2015 07:26

Congratulations nature! Well done! Enjoy your new wee bundle xxx

SparklyPenguin · 11/07/2015 07:48
