Ha Brickie never thought of that lol! Grin

At 13+4 I'm definitely feeling less nauseous and more human. Telling my parents at the weekend. My mum is desperate to be a grandma, I think she may wet herself with excitement.

TMI warning Is anyone else starting to develop the first signs of ... ahem... bum grapes? It's not full on, but something unpleasant is starting to happen down there. I'm faintly terrified. I already eat plenty of fibre and drink loads of water. Woe is me.

fishermanswife1 · 06/07/2015 10:03

Anyoneelse ever have trouble getting through to mw team? Honestly, I'm sure their phone is on silent. Only the one time I be ever had someone answer the phone, the midwife wasn't there. Grumble grumble.

But as a tip. Cold dandelion and burdock is currently my favourite thing!

MissMartin10 · 06/07/2015 10:12

not the mw team book ive been trying to book a bloody scan since 9.30 and they don't answer the phone Angry
i need to call the mw's though they haven't told me my 12w scan is yet and im 12w on sunday

MissMartin10 · 06/07/2015 10:18

oh b&w i seem to have got my self a lovley little stomach bug Sad
i feel awful!

kep1979 · 06/07/2015 10:20

Have a lovely holiday moonshine. And glad your scan went well... I am crazxily nervous about mine, even though we know Bean is ultra low chance of downs etc, and everything is probably fine - even dh said that a scan a week would be preferable to all this worrying Smile

And teeny I am pretty sure I had to have cocodamol for a severe migraine when I was pg with one of my boys - so try not to worry. I hope your headache has now gone.

kep1979 · 06/07/2015 10:24

And edgar unfortunately I have these - a delightful leftover from my first pregnancy, and then got worse during second pregnancy. Unfortunately I have no tips - generally mine don't bother me - they just look and feel gross, but I've kind of got used to them now. Plus a friend of mine had hers removed, and said it was REALLY painful - so I'm leaving them alone for now. I suppose all I was told of any use was increase fibre and drink loads of water - hope yours don't bother you too much.

SleepyDragon · 06/07/2015 10:28

MissM keep trying as it sounds like you may have flipped the net. The 12wk scan can be done anytime up to 14wk though so I wouldn't worry you'll be over 12wk, I will be too when mine is done.

No bum grapes at the mo, had a wee experience with them a few week ago, I thought something was majorly wrong when I went to the loo for the amount of blood (sorry TMI!!) then I realised it was from my backside and instantly calmed down.

SleepyDragon · 06/07/2015 10:32

I did have a series of nightmares last night though and feel utterly wrecked...

I'm not sure if anyone else is watching 'Humans' (Brilliant!) On Ch4 on a Subday but it clearly influenced one nightmare...

I have no idea how one of the 'synths' become possessed by the devil and built an alter in the flat below ours decorated with skulls that look like Donnie darko but dripping with blood to want to sacrifice my unborn baby

Jeeez I felt sick with that one lol!

(Although it looks bloody funny now lol)

moonshine25 · 06/07/2015 10:59

Thanks teenie and kep, we're going to Italy, Florence and the lake como so lots of gelato!

Kep I was terrified before the scan and I told the midwife how scared I was and she properly put my mind at ease - hopefully yours will be the same!

Oh the piles do not sound fun - I even the other way and had looser bm's (tmi) so don't have much advice I'm afraid!

moonshine25 · 06/07/2015 11:01

On the way to the airport now so I'll check in with you when I get back. Good luck with your scans and I hope you all start feeling better soon - counting down to second trimester!!!

fishermanswife1 · 06/07/2015 11:15

Have a great and restful holiday moonshine... Not jealous as all..... Sounds fabulous.

Edgar I'm afraid so. TMI alert again. I've had them on off for a few years thanks to stress related IBS, but luckily only internally, so can't see them. They are making a return as of this weekend - earlier than I expected at just 13 weeks but I have been quite constipated. Anusol have always worked wonders with me but just got to check I'm still ok to use while pg. Like sleepy said, it's scary when pg to see lots of blood in loo, before realising that's where it came from. Oh the glamour!

fishermanswife1 · 06/07/2015 11:18

Oh, meant to ask, anyone stopped taking extra folic acid as now over 12 weeks pg?

Was just one of the small things I wanted to query with mw when speaking to her about something else. But alas still no answer. I've stopped since 12wk scan (when I was 13wks). So hope that was the right thing to do

tennisnut123 · 06/07/2015 11:30

Hi all! Had my 12 week scan this morning and all seems ok, phew! Baby wasn't playing ball initially and had to 'partly' empty my bladder, not easy! Was nervous beforehand but a lovely experience in the end. Am waiting a couple of weeks longer to tell people as I'm not quite ready to tell work!
Fishermans- midwife told me that they recommended taking pregnancy vitamins eg pregnecare throughout pregnancy but the important time for folic acid is before 12 weeks (if that helps!)

kep1979 · 06/07/2015 11:33

Glad your scan went well tennis - mine is in 3 hours and it can't come quickly enough. I'm going to tell work tomorrow (my boss already knows) as then I can breath out and stop draping things to cover up my burgeoning belly!

hotcrossbun83 · 06/07/2015 11:59

Fizzy I could have written your post about sickness! With ds I had nausea and some sickness to 14 weeks and thought that was bad enough. This time I'm sick every day even with anti nausea drugs, feel awful and can barely get out of bed. Not good with ds to look after! I'm almost 12 weeks so hoping it starts to fade soon but really scared it won't.

Does everyone keep telling you it must be a girl?

MissMartin10 · 06/07/2015 12:10

hotcross i feel like im getting alot worse with the sickness since Saturday it seems to have ramped up alot... everyone keeps telling me it will be a girl! Smile

coffeenut · 06/07/2015 12:13

I had more sickness with my girls than this one, for sure Grin

Good luck for the scan kep and congrats on yours tennis!!

I took folic acid throughout both my previous pregnancies (but mainly because it is combined in with my antenatal multivit).

BlueEspoir · 06/07/2015 12:19

Glad to hear your scan went well tennis. Good luck for yours kep - I think mine must be an hour after yours. I'm working from home today but struggling to concentrate due to nerves/excitement! I am in the same position as you kep - my boss knows already but it will be a huge relief to tell the rest of the team especially given the rate at which my work clothes are shrinking!

MissMartin10 · 06/07/2015 12:40

great news on the scans and goodluck to those with scans today Grin
i need to find somewhere that sells maternity tunic's or long vest tops so i can just wear leggings the whole time.. my jeans are all digging in and i have to wear them unbuttoned but my bump isn't big enough to hold up maternity jeans!

Oysterbabe · 06/07/2015 12:42

I've been away for the weekend and catching up on everyone's scan news Smile
Congrats to all!!
I've finally got a date for mine 20/07, so 2 weeks today. I really need it to get here so I can tell people. I look pregnant now and that's only going to get worse! Hate to think of people talking behind my back about how much I've let myself go since I came back from honeymoon!!

SleepyDragon · 06/07/2015 12:52

I'm still taking my Folic Acid mainly because of the upped dosage and only just getting it. I really should get some pregnacare but there seems to be loads!!

We're planning on telling 'everyone dose' in the family and close friends this weekend when we've had scan and I'll tell the bitches at work on Monday just so I can stop trying to breathe in and stop cutting myself in half with my jeans!

spooble · 06/07/2015 13:07

Oh my goodness, there's actually a baby in there! Had my 12 week scan this morning, it was lovely Smile. The sonographer gave us a tour of hands, feet, stomach, etc, so cool! Now it's all feeling very real, can't wait to tell the in-laws tomorrow and everyone else soon!

Thinking of my scan buddies today - congrats Tennis, and enjoy your scans Kep and Blue

fishermanswife1 · 06/07/2015 13:09

Think I'll just continue with the pregnacare I'm taking as that already contains the recommended folic acid anyway, and drop my increased dose now. Sure the doc said it was just up to 12 wks.

Great news on scan tennis. Good luck to those going today! We haven't had any pics posted for a while...
