Fizzy they said they would try to fit me in on Tues. But I was very unimpressed. Although I'm so emotional at the moment that I wasn't up to a complaint there and then. I'd probably just burst into tears! But I will be emailing the hospital. It's stressful enough going for a 12 w scan after mc without having it postponed.

And Sleepy I'm not giving up my Kettle chips for anybody!

Blackandwhitecat3 · 05/07/2015 17:40

Just nod and ignore, Sleepy you're a fully grown adult capable of making your own decisions and she seems to have forgotten that! Sounds a nightmare.

Every pregnancy is different, she might not have had any illness or fatigue but that doesn't mean for a second that any woman who does is less strong/able. You know what you need.

Feel like going out to buy some kettle chips, a bit of rage going on here I feel!

MissMartin10 · 05/07/2015 18:10

is anyone else at the 11w mark and have lower abdominal crampy twinges or did anyone have this at around this time?
sleepy she sounds annoying! you've made me really really want some sea salt kettle chips but all the shops here are now shut Sad

SleepyDragon · 05/07/2015 18:16

Thanks ladies, luckily my DH is of the same opinion as you B&W and says everyone is different and although she knows symptoms she doesn't know how I, personally feel!

MissM yes I had that, it's just the stretching and growing of your ligaments ready for your uterus to move upwards. It's only a cause for concern if it's really strong pains really x

loveulotslikejellytots · 05/07/2015 18:16

MissMartin10, yep, I remember having the same. I'm 14 weeks now and it's a lot less frequent.

Well I've just ordered myself a chinese takeaway. I should have something a bit healthier but I'm feeling sorry for myself. DH has been called out again, second night in a row (fire brigade). I know that's his job and he loves his job, but he left for work yesterday at 8:30, got home at11pm. He was called out at 4am this morning and just stayed at work as it was nearly 9am by the time he got back. He's just called to say he won't be home until at least 11pm tonight. Sad I'm back to work tomorrow and I don't feel like I've seen him.

MissMartin10 · 05/07/2015 18:28

oh feww!.. Smile

TeenieDeenie · 05/07/2015 18:51

Hi all, just checking in...

I've had the worst headache I've ever had and it's lasted 3 days so far... I've been trying not to take any tablets during my pregnancy but have had to take paracetamol the past few days as the pain has been absolutely agony and really draining. Then today I have been panicking as I thought I'd taken two paracetamol tablets but it wasn't until later on something made me look at the back of the tablets and they were actually co-codamol :/ I've looked online and have read mixed reviews about co-codamol in pregnancy, but it was only two lose dose 8/500mg tablets so am hoping the risk is minimal... I threw the rest of them out just so it doesn't happen again. I also drank plenty water afterwards and ate something to try and dilute/absorb as much of them as I could. No idea if that even makes sense but I was just trying everything I could think of... What do you think? Do you think I could have harmed my baby? I feel so stupid!!!

MrsFaz I'm so sorry you got hurt and have had alot of stress and worry the past 24 hours. Glad you're managing to stay calm for your little one, you must have been livid though. Irresponsible idiots! You could have lost an eye... Grrr...

Sleepy... That list... Wow... I do/eat all of those things (in moderation of course)... Totally agree you should smile and nod, you're a grown woman and am sure you can make your own decisions.

Hi Teenie,
I'm sure your baby will be fine. I was hospitalised early in my last pregnancy (long story) and I was on intravenous morphine for a few weeks, then prescribed high dose codeine and paracetamol for at least two more months and my little boy was and is perfectly healthy. I think the guidance is there as a precaution to prevent overuse of unprescribed medication.
Just my opinion! Hope it's some reassurance :-)

Tonicandgin · 05/07/2015 19:09

Scan tomorrow... Any scan buddies?

I'm really stressing. No major reasons to but I just don't 'feel pregnant'. Last time I had hideous morning sickness and exhaustion until week 14, and I've been fine this time since week 10.

I know I shouldn't compare but can't help it.

crumble74 · 05/07/2015 19:13

Teenie I'm sure it's all fine!
I was going to say that I also had a killer headache yesterday. I used migraine strips which you put on your forehead. They did the job & got rid of it...nice & refreshing too in the heat.

TeenieDeenie · 05/07/2015 19:13

Flood, thank you for that... It has helped ease my mind a little more. I was beside myself earlier and couldn't believe how stupid I had been by not double checking the backs of the tablets. It will NEVER happen again!!!

OP posts:
TeenieDeenie · 05/07/2015 19:14

Thanks crumble, I'll need to get some of those strips. Honestly I've never had such a sore head no matter how much water I drink!! It's crippling!

floodwoman23 · 05/07/2015 19:26

One thing I would suggest to those with bad headaches. If paracetamol isn't lifting the headaches or if you're waking at night with the pain do go and see your GP.
Don't mean to scaremonger but definitely worth getting checked out.

TeenieDeenie · 05/07/2015 19:32

Yeah I'm going to call my GP tomorrow and get an appointment, just so the headaches are on my notes somewhere. I had a very, very stressful day at work on Thursday and that's when it started. I think the hormone levels have just made it worse and last for days.

OP posts:
floodwoman23 · 05/07/2015 19:36

Oh good! Hope the GP helps - keep us posted. :-)

TeenieDeenie · 05/07/2015 19:37

Will do and thanks again Flood :-)

Hi ladies! Hi to others like me with scans tomorrow. Am a mixture of nervous and excited as I'm sure we all are. Do we need a full bladder? Doesn't say on my letter so was going to do that just in case! Good luck all.
Nicnac hope yours gets sorted out soon, can understand your frustration!

AlohaMama · 05/07/2015 20:04

tennis my letter said drink a glass of water one hour before apt, and don't go to the toilet after.

Tonicandgin · 05/07/2015 20:05

Tennis-no you don't need a full bladder. Good luck, mines at 10:40

Need to remember my £6 (extortionate) for scan pictures. It's apparently to raise money for the maternity unit, but still seems pretty steep.

Tonicandgin · 05/07/2015 20:06

Aloha-how odd. Maybe it's different at different places... Although I have no idea why. I didn't do anything last time when I had dd (and called them to ask and they told me not to worry about it).

SleepyDragon · 05/07/2015 20:42

Teenie I'm sure you've not done any harm but I also swear by the 4Head stick of that's any help, it's very soothing!

Thanks for your comments too x

Aloha sorry you're feeling a bit 'alone'. I had a chinese last night and treat myself to the salt & chilli prawns with fried rice (before the prawn lecture from SIL lol) and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Tennis my scan is on Friday at 13+1 (eeeep!) and my letter says drink a pint of water but I'm betting they'll run over on timing so am going to drink half then take half with me I think.

impatientlywaiting · 05/07/2015 20:43

It depends on the scanning machines, think the newer ones don't need a full bladder.

tennisnut123 · 05/07/2015 20:58

Thanks for the info - strange that everyone has had different advice!

lilyb84 · 05/07/2015 21:12

Ooh, good luck to those of you with scans tomorrow! Mine's on Tuesday, starting to get nervous/excited now...

And sympathies to you fellow headache sufferers, mine returned today although it's not too bad. It's just coupled with every other part of my body feeling like shit that makes it bad! The nausea is back and worse than ever at 11 weeks and I just feel ill, generally, all the time. Ah, the joys of pregnancy!!
